Very, very cool. Now, all we need is an API to allow websites to send payment from one address to another, with a current BC/BTC exchange rate, and I, for one, have somewhere I'd be keen to to implement this.

It's coming! I'm working on that along side the Android Wallet. It'll be the BlackCoin SDK for web developers.

Awesome .......... no pressure, but ... how long do you think it'll take ? I've a web service that I've been meaning for some time to accept alt coin payments for. The release of a BC SDK will finally galvanise me into actually sorting it out, with, of course, BC top of the list.

How does the logo look when it's small? In most promo material it's going to be tiny not big like that.  Smiley
it looks good almost at all sizes but not the smallest one

this one should be redone imho
EDIT: compare to the previuos size

this one is much clearer

I agree that the smallest needs tweeking. Also, I'm really not sure that the word 'BLACKCOIN' is required on the logo, it seems to dilute the focus, weakens the whole design ( it might just be that this is due to the choice of font ). I think word 'Blackcoin' needs to be a separate logotype, as per bitcoin and litecoin etc. That said, it's a massive improvement on the Transformer look.  The B is great, very strong, clear, has a proper 'money' feel to it, has great purpose and poise.

Almost makes me wish I'd cashed out at the high, to buy back in now. However, I've never been good at short-term gain stuff, so look forward to the mine pool being switched on for real later this week, to test this interesting theory. Meanwhile, the POS coins keep dripping through ... keep it up, devs, you're doing a great job.

Looks like someone is either verrrry cautiously trying to offload without panicking the market, or, looking at the buys, maybe trying to verrry slowly drive the price down to a level where can pick up some cheaper goods

So what's the future of BC? I am also one of them who missed the downward profit train. But it is shocking to know that when BC will again reach to 4k level, these missed chaps will surely down it again. So is it a lost game or still a faith? Without any servicing offered, this coin will again become a soft target of Whale Attack. I wonder how long will it take to reach the previous high level? Huh

This coin is not even a month old. During that time, the innovative http://bcmultipool.com/ has been developped. Just the mention of its development, and the start of Beta testing Friday night sparked considerable interest. I believe BC is due to be listed on the Moolah exchange when it launches ( http://blog.moolah.ch/ ) next week. If BC is included within Moolah's wider set of merchant tools ( or any other similar setup ), that's your offered servicing right there. Someone on here has already stated that they are intending to build a mobile wallet.

Once the multipool is out of Beta and functioning 100%, its support will underpin the currency. BC is a value store, and its very young age should be viewed in that context. It'll no doubt have wild swings in the near future, but, if it does pull through them, with the support of all those people who ( like me ) are holding onto the buys made between 1000 and 2000, we should see good retunrs on our investment.

re: merchant take-up. What's the likelihood of a simple API being made available that would facilitate calls to send/receive BC payments ? Nothing too fancy to start, just the basics to get that particular ball rolling. As much as I'd love to be involved with the build of such a thing, I don't have those particular skills, but do to take advantage of the existence of an API, as, I bet, do a number of people watching this thread and the graphs.

I came here a few days ago after http://coinmarketcap.com/ showed a 3000% increase ( must have been a bug ! ), hung around reading the forum, thought this looks interesting. I've wondered, during the past few weeks of getting the hang of alt coins, what it might be like catching the first wave of a new, interesting coin's development. I think I now know.

Guys do you think of hiring a pro designer for the logo? I believe it is important on the way to success.

+1 for this suggestion.

It might seem trivial at the current stage of development, but to a certain cross section of users, a product's look and feel is a very powerful trigger. The website looks great, but the logo lets it down (imo). Putting to one side technical arguments, this is where setups like Feather Coin have an edge. If this project is to have the legs that many here are asserting, and if the project has a sudden surge in interest for whatever reasons, when those visitors come knocking, I'm willing to bet that a significant number will react more positively if the whole package has a quality, professional, considered feel to it.

I should point out that, even though I have had a hazy awareness of this growing phenomenon ( alt currencies ) for a little while, it's only in the past month or so that I've taken a real interest in its possibilities, and have become hooked and sold on its potential and viability.

I do a bit of web app development work, have some experience of integrating conventional payment processing systems, and with that hat on, this technology is a no brainer. However, that work brings me into contact with many average punters, for many of whom Paypal is a new and wonderous thing. I work on some great looking sites ( designed by other people ! ), and some monsters, often in similar market spaces. Almost without fail, it is the slicker, more considered sites that bring in the business.

It's a similar process to preparing for a job interview. It's a shit process, and one that most of us have had to go through. Rarely are we lucky enough to be able to go to an interview where to don't need to consider our appearance to some degree ( unless you're applying for the position of SysAdmin down in the bowels somewhere ). If you scrub up a bit, your chances of being taken seriously are just that little bit enhanced, and it's that 'little bit' that might tip the odds in your favour.

I'm not asserting that this need to 'present' is either good or bad. It just is. I was laying awake last night thinking about just this very thing, will upload something for consideration, but am certain that a pro should have a chance to give this very interesting coin the little bit of polish that might just push it where it deserves to go.
