1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 01, 2023, 02:38:11 PM
Do you think Newcastle United cannot beat any of these teams?
I think we should not look down on them because they are a completely different team since last season, and it is not easy to qualify for the Champions League ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea in the Premier League. I think we should give them attention too because they will surprise us in the group stage, especially since both PSG and Dortmund are not in good form compared to last season.
They look sharp and ready for any challenge so i don’t think they have any problem facing any team. With their performance this season so far I think the fire is still burning, let’s leave aside the fact that they lost to Liverpool last week, they out played them right from the first half and clearly they were the better side but the changes that the coach did in the second half cost them the match, taking off the entire midfield and Gordon your best player in the match when you are just a goal up is a wrong move. Liverpool was able to come to life after the changes were made.

The group is a tough one especially since they are have been absent in the league for a long time and they will be facing teams they have not played against before. I believe they know how difficult the competition is and they would have prepared well for it so we shouldn’t look down on them, they could surprise us by reaching the knockout rounds. I can only vouch for PSG win against them but Dortmund and AC milan are more of a match they can face head on. Let’s see what they have in store for us.

Is it a must for all bitcointalkers to post on their local boars?
Posting on local boards shows your real identity and on local board one can easily flow with the discussions over there, since the most popular countries have their own local boards and people on bitcointalk.org posts on the board but I am wondering if is a must for evey bitcointalkers to post on their local boards, maybe for one reason or the other.

It’s not a must to post on your local board but sometimes you get joy meeting people from your local community and again it is easier to communicate in your native language especially in countries that English is not spoken generally. Posting on local boards does not reveal your identity unless you reveal them yourself it only reveals your country of origin. Local boards may contain contents and things happening in your country that the general board will not so sometimes it is useful to visit your local board once in a while and read through threads even if you don’t actually post in the board.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 01, 2023, 05:52:37 AM
As for me I dislike when gamblers complain of their losses, meanwhile you hear them complain when they are getting winnings.

Lol this is true, you will never hear their complains when they are winning but come to think of it when you are winning it means everything is going right and there is nothing to complain about and when you are losing that means somethings are not right so that’s where the complaints are coming from. Well i also don’t like the fact that they complain when experiencing a loss, i feel tgey should be aware that the game can go either way so in every game they play they should be expecting a loss.

What is the one behaviour you noticed in a gambler and  you dislike it? You don't need to have a reason for disliking it but you just do.

What irritates me about them is when they make claims that they are aware that a team would win or lose but they can't explain what made them predict a different outcome. This frequently happens to my brother whenever his predictions goes wrong he would be furious about  how he knew this was going to be the outcome but then why did he pick a different outcome. Whenever he does that it annoys me alot.
1004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 31, 2023, 09:21:01 PM
But hey this is Chelsea and don't get too weird about it because we've also seen absurd transfers from Mudryk before so why feel weird when they dare to pay a high price for Cole Palmer Cheesy
He is indeed still one of the pretty good young players for Manchester City especially when he became the winner in the European Super Cup which made his name a little glimpsed.
The deal happened very quickly and it seems that Chelsea did not want to waste time in the remaining time they have at this time especially since the transfer season will be closed in a few days so that even this big offer was immediately agreed by Chelsea.
Sometimes transfer fee depends on the existing contract between the player and the club and to permanently purchase the player you will have to pay to cover up for the number of years remaining in the players contract. Palmer maybe underrated because of lack of enough playing time, you don’t expect him to have playing time with Mahrez, Bernado and Grealish all playing same position with him. He is good and the quality is there but he needs to be in a team where he will have more playing time so he can show the world what he is capable of doing. In my opinion I don’t think the price is too high because he is young and he plays in a big team. Chelsea are currently investing in young players which is a good thing and despite paying high transfer fee they always make sure the players sign for a long period, most of the players signed 8 year’s contracts which in my opinion is a good business.

Chelsea had a reason to buy him with such price. In fact, the club really needs a new centre forward at this moment. Jackson is not enough caused by his teammates were injured. Broja has not yet recovered from his injury. I can even understand the main reason why chelsea was signing him. he is far better rather than signing balogun from arsenal. I really support him to go to the chelsea. he will pay off his price.
I know Palmer can play anywhere in attacks but I think he will be best suited to play as a winger rather than a center forward. He score goals and he is a decent attacker and he can actually be used as an alternative for Jackson and Broja. If not for the injury crisis happening in the team currently I don’t think they would have signed any more player but with a lot of players out injured it will be better to have alternatives.

Does Manchester United need to watch the performance of Cucurella before they will know his capabilities and deficiencies?
We have been together in this England and every true football lover will attest that the best of Cucurella was in Brighton.
Cucurella has been a shadow of himself in Chelsea since he arrived under Graham Potter.
I sincerely believe that Manchester United scout needs to be questioned.
Their business for the past 4 seasons in the transfer window has been totally unprofitable.
I was disappointed when i heard Manchester United have shown interest to sign Cucurella but i was happy as a chelsea fan because i know abilities of this player and for a rival team to sign him it will be a win win for us. I wanted the deal to happen fast because i don’t like the fact that i will be seeing him in my team for the rest of the season. He has failed to impress since joining chelsea and the fact that we pay a huge sum to get him was what I don’t like. I am disappointed in Manchester United’s scout, is it that they don’t watch him when he plays or maybe they still think he is still the same Cucurella they know in Brighton. Chelsea coach shouldn’t have played him yesterday so they wouldn’t have seen his play and we could have succeeded in offloading him to United.

Let me use this medium to retroduce my self again, I'm smartgoat. I have been on this forum for pass 6days now without knowing that, there is a place called beginners and help here. I'm here on this forum to learn, to know, and to succeed. I know nothing about Bitcoin, but I'm here to learn of bitcoins and to make progress on it. And for me to succeed here, it requires everybody to guild and direct me to learn and master everything about Bitcoin.
In your first introductory thread, you said you knew nothing about Bitcoin. How come you are now a Bitcoin investor and have been enjoying it since 2017? Or is there something that I am reading wrongly in your story?
This is really funny, he call himself smart but I don’t see any attribute of smart in OP. I’m sorry I don’t mean any disrespect but this has shown us the opposite of your name.  Grin Grin

it’s ridiculous how you will make such statements of being new to bitcoin some weeks back and now you are giving testimony of how bitcoin have changed your life after a friend introduced you to it in 2017. So which of your statement do we believe now? This shows you can’t be trusted in anyway and there is every possibility that everything you tell us here on the forum maybe a lie. Bitcoin have changed a lot of life and it could have changed yours too but you don’t have to lie about anything here just to earn merits. If you are new to the forum but have been a bitcoiner for a while now you can still earn yourself some merit and not until you disguise as a newbie.

Note OP: Lies and any other type of indecent acts are not encouraged here in the forum.
1006  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad economic situation makes bitcoins more difficult to keep. on: August 31, 2023, 12:15:19 PM
I was having a conversation with a friend, and we talked about how difficult the economy is and how it can disrupt someone's plan to hold their bitcoins without tampering with it. I think this is true because if you think of how difficult things are getting, Salaries from jobs no longer sufficient to sort all needs, and profit from business seriously affected and made intangible because of the increasing cost of running a business and the rising cost of things.
I wouldn’t lie it is very difficult here as well, the economy is very tough and the high cost things have affected us here too. In my country things get cost every now and then and the amount we spend for the month to cover our needs and wants is barely enough to last us 2 weeks and the salaries earned by workers is no more sufficient for them and their families and a lot of us who try to save up one way or the other turn to our savings for survival. The economy is not friendly and holding bitcoin for the future is becoming more difficult, saving part of my bitcoin earned from signature campaign is even more difficult and instead i spend some part of my holding when the need arise because my earnings is not enough to live on anymore. I hope things get better so i can hold my bitcoins for the upcoming bull run.

Holding your bitcoins has a lot to do with discipline truly, but discipline is harder to practice when you are being suffocated and suffering financially with plenty bills and responsibility to respond to. People in countries with better economy, where there are good jobs and businesses are working, Bitcoins will easier hold than for people who are in places with terrible economic situation. What do you think?
It’s true, people in countries with a stable economy and good jobs will find it easier to save and hold bitcoin than those in countries with unstable economy and scarcity of jobs and employment opportunities. You will only be able to save when you have food and have all your responsibilities and needs taken care of because only those alive have a future and it’s better to live comfortably and have no savings than to leave all your needs and responsibilities unattended and have a lot of savings.
1007  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: August 31, 2023, 10:45:34 AM
Sincerely, it is almost impossible to launch a business today and anticipate seeing profits the following day, though some businesses can turn a profit quickly with careful planning and consideration of factors that will help your company run smoothly and attract customers. Most importantly, you will need to pray for luck for your company to succeed. There is always a chance that a company is a scam when someone approaches you and starts making claims about how the business would bring you quick money and guarantee daily profits and even go as far as  guaranteeing your financial success for 999 years. I will urge you to stay away from such companies because no company can promise a success rate of 100 percent.

It is true that some businesses can turn a profit relatively quickly, but in most cases a guaranteed profit from day one is not possible. Successful businesses often require careful planning, time to establish a customer base, marketing efforts, operational adjustments, and more.
Exactly, no business can guarantee success from day one and even if you carefully plan and put all these factors into consideration it still doesn’t guarantee success it will only reduce the chances of failure, it will only increase your success rate but not by 100%.
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 30, 2023, 10:32:47 PM
It looks like Tottenham can get another win this week. Because technically their next game is a comfortable one for them. Burnley are in a really bad condition now. They couldn't collect any points yet and their defense is horrible. Tottenham on the other hand continue to surprise people despite selling Kane.

Tottenham really impressed people by what they did to Manchester United. As long as they maintain their focus I don't expect a surprising result against Burnley either. I don't know how they can maintain a good form but their odds of 1.85 for the win is very favourable to bet on.
Tottenham have been on top of their game since the commencement of this season they have impressed us all with their performance because this is not what we expect to see since their best player (Harry Kane) left the club. We expect to see a struggling performance but it’s like they play more freely now than they used to before, and their midfield have shown improvement recently. Bissouma and Sarr’s combination is really solid, they make the work easier for Maddison to penetrate opposition defenders. The team is not playing under pressure and I give thumbs up for the coach for making that happen, he said in an interview that he try to immidate Guardiola by telling the players to their mind and be their selves.

They showed top class against Manchester United, they won in style and i didn’t believe they could out play Manchester United like that, Bissouma stole the show and he was standing he has shown he needs more playing time than he earned last season but with the look of things how would the coach manage tte midfield when Hojberg is fully fit and Bentacur returns from injury.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 30, 2023, 09:57:25 PM
Yes, it is very unfortunate about Vinicius being injured, because the thigh injury currently experienced by Vinicius is also an injury that takes a long time to recover. Therefore, then of course it seems Real Madrid still have to bring in new players again because ya, it will be very lacking if Real Madrid only has a Vinicius replacement like Joselu. Because after all, that Real Madrid at this moment is on fire because of the presence of Bellingham in the Real Madrid squad right now. Therefore, if Real Madrid might be able to bring in a better player to fill Vinicius position, maybe it will keep Real Madrid performance good and consistent. This is the last moment or injury time to sign players, as the transfer window will surely close soon.
Vinicius is somewhat fortunate that he won't be out for so long, which is excellent news for Madrid and Vinicius himself. A thigh injury is a really painful injury that also takes a long time to heal, but it doesn't take as long as an ACL. Even if Vinicius doesn't score as frequently as other players, he is their most talented attacker and he easily creates goal scoring opportunities for others to score goals. He is very important to the club and he will be missed during his time out. Madrid should have signed backup players just in case of situations like this, and the fact that they don't currently have any means they will struggle with goal scoring when they face stronger opponents and they can’t be so reliant on Bellingham because he is a midfielder, so he can't promise them goals every now and then, he is just lucky to be scoring goals now but I doubt if that will continue for long.
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 30, 2023, 09:33:26 PM
David Moyes have done a wonderful business  with all these names introduced. The signing of Ward Prowse and Kudus excited me because I know  they would  adapt very well to the Premier League and the Westham team in general.
David Moyes has always just purchased players he needs and I like that about him when it comes to signings. He doesn't always like the thought of having surplus in the club, therefore West Ham really done their best to utilise the cashout from the sale of Declan Rice appropriately. Since Alvarez played in the Netherlands League, few people are familiar with him, but he will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the squad this year. Alvarez and Kudus both played for the same club, Ajax, so they are familiar with one another, which will make it simpler for the team to gel. Due to the style of play Moyes employs, Kudus will have a significant impact on the club. His relationship with Antonio and Bowen will be electrifying and exciting to watch. Kudus' decision to play in the Premier League makes me very delighted.

Being a new member of this forum, I will like to have more clarification and advice, and I will also like to know if there are any PDFs or any sources that I can be directed to study more in order to not offend the law of the forum and avoid any penalties or having my account banned. I will be glad to have many pieces of advice for other members of the forum.
Good thing you want to know more about the forum first before any other thing because the mistake most newbies make when they join the forum is not get familiar with the forum, they just feel once you are a member you can do whatever you wish and they assume there are no rules guiding the forum. There are rules here and there are some things we all avoid here that are not tolerated and once you break those rules things will not be taken lightly with you so try to follow the rules of the forum.

Just as mk4 mentioned, avoid spamming, avoid plagiarism (copying and pasting of other people's work) from within or outside the forum and don’t try to scam other users. there are several rules so you just have to abide by them. I can see other users have shared you some links already that contains rules and some and other information about the forum so make sure you read them carefully.
1012  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to smell fraud in projects and detect Ponzi schemes from far as a Newbie on: August 28, 2023, 07:05:27 PM
Nice work OP, I think there would have been a topic like this before, therefore it is extremely great of you to bring this to our attention once more.

If there is anything simple that I have learned in crypto, is nothing but to be less greedy, this is what some people lack being a crypto person

Greed is one of the major factors that causes people to lose money not just in the crypto world alone but in all aspects of life. Seriously we all have a certain percentage of greed in us but it is left to us to try and minimize it so it doesn’t affect us in any way. It may be difficult to overcome but once we do there is a high chance of success in what we do. In crypto it has caused damage to alot of people because they were unable to fight it and they let it take control over their decisions. I think as a crypto person it should be your first obstacle you must overcome before investing.

as long as there is money in a particular place, scams will never cease to exist that particular place, they will keep coming in different forms in different trends and no matter how expert you have been around here, you will come across them.

There is a popular saying money is the root of all evil, so wherever there is money there is always people trying to get the money by an illegal means and People come with various format just to steal money away from it’s rightful owners. Scam is becoming more and more rampant now and some people even depend on it for survival so we have to always be on the lookout to detect scam, it doesn’t matter of you are an expert or not if you are not careful you may end up being scammed. Now that we expecting a bull run we should even be more careful because it is the season where scam projects and ponzi schemes are more common, it is a period when people will be plotting for ways to capture their prey as everyone will be on the lookout for projects with high potentials.

There are times projects go anonymous for projects like DEFI that are high risk as they always new and test, they do that for disclaimer purposes in case it failed which is the intention is clear. However, there are some projects that hide their identity by using fake ID are always scams because that's impersonation to give an impression of what they are not, this is one of the red flag people should detect during personal research, nobody will tell you this but you alone and the signs are there when they use fake ID from google and Stock images for impersonation.

Good point OP i have seen and heard of how some projects hide their identity and go anonymous and how some projects impersonate other projects just to lure in investors but i think you could have done better by sharing how new investors can detect such projects while doing their own research so they don’t fall for such scam.
1013  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $25,000 give way this time? on: August 27, 2023, 09:21:06 PM
Short-term investors were badly affected by this situation. Now the question is whether the Bitcoin price will go even lower or will it stay here and rise. There is a repeat buying opportunity for the long-term investor. Negative news affects Bitcoin, but it's up to us not to panic sell. Bitcoin shouldn't be too affected by such news. Compared to the past, it often achieves this, but the risks may be higher for the short-term investor.
Whenever Bitcoin prices rises or falls there are always those who get affected and there are still those who benefits from it so it’s just as you said, it is left to us to decide whether to panic or not. Short term investors will actually suffer from such sudden fall and it made some to panic sell. Bitcoin movement as always been like this, we saw worse in the past and it bounced back so I don’t think there is any reason to panic instead we should make use of the opportunity to keep buying.

I still feel we could still see the price drop even more and we could see bitcoin price drop to around $23,000 to $21,000.
1014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I go with Bitcoin or Altcoins for the upcoming bull run cycle? on: August 27, 2023, 02:15:57 PM
I disagree with your approach. OP, Altcoins are not trustworthy at all, and the fact that you would be borrowing money and using some of your bitcoin as collateral is the dumbest thing you could possibly do. What if things don't work out as planned? You'll have to use your bitcoins to settle the loan.  Many altcoins appear to have potential during a bull run, but we all know how risky investing in them can be. Since you are considering investing up to $30,000 into altcoins, that means you will be investing in a lot of altcoins, increasing the possibility that you will invest in a scam project. Don't be fooled by the term "bull run"—you still need to be cautious as you always are. Scammers are aware that during bull runs it is easy to draw in enough victims because many individuals will be in search of the perfect investment.

Altcoins are promising and can generate huge profits but can’t be fully reliant on them and you would need a different approach if you want to be more efficient.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 27, 2023, 01:06:25 PM
Mudryk should be one of the worst signings of Chelsea in the recent times. He hasn’t been able to do anything spectacular for the team since he joined and has not also been productive much in the attack. If he can improve after his injury then no problem but if he can’t, he should be loaned or sold out just like other players when Pochettino joined.
It’s too early to judge Mudryk, I think you are saying all this because he was chelsea spent 100m to get him. I would have supported your opinion but firstly I think he has not gotten enough playing time since his arrival and as a player you can’t bring much changes to a game while coming from the bench especially when you its a new team you are yet to settle in. Mudryk needs to start some like at least 12 - 15 matches this season before i can finally conclude he is a flop. We all saw his potential in Shaktar and we all saw what he did against Real Madrid so i still believe him and I believe he is experiencing all this because he is still very young and all this is as a result of change in environment.

Mudryk is a good player, but the bad woes of Chelsea has affected his performance. Had Mudryk moved to a club like Arsenal he would have been forced to be in performance, but since he decided that he it was Chelsea, he has to deal with the result of his choices. Mudryk will bounce back from injury, after he recovers. If he has enough playing time, he will surely be able to perform at the level he is expected. I trust in the abilities of Mudryk, he just needs some more time, he will surely prove his worth.
Exactly what I thought too, had it been he joined Arsenal last season he wouldn’t have lost so much confidence and he would have picked up the form too and we may have witnessed a different version of him. Chelsea was terrible last season that was why he also struggled but it’s too early to give up on him. I believe if chelsea should  come to life this season he would play a big role to make it happen. Once he is back from injury he and Nkunku would change a lot of things for us.
1016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 26, 2023, 10:11:43 PM
Beautiful game in london as David Moyes shows Brighton hows it done!! An action packed evening which saw West Ham lead Brighton after just 33 passes at half time. David Moyes didn't just park the bus; he ensured to deal with Brighton away from home and bagged 3 vital points and now top of the league too!!! With signings such as Kudus yet to be integrated to the squad; it promises to be an exciting season for West Ham.
It has always been west ham way of playing, they try to get the first goal and once they have successfully scored a goal they just sit back and defend and leave Antonio and Bowen up front to do their thing. They did the same thing to chelsea last week and they have succeeded with Brighton as well. Antonio and Bowen are the perfect ones for that kind of job and now that they have signed Kudus they will even look more dangerous than ever. I never expected West ham to win especially going away to face the most dangerous team in the league, Brighton who won their last 2 matches with enough goal margin.

A draw is a result that Fulham deserved, they worked so hard on the pitch with their defensive strategy, based on match statistics, they only had 28% possession while Arsenal had 72%. I'm sure no one would have thought that Fulham could get 1 point in this match, it's like something that doesn't make sense with all the statistics there.
Fulham suprised everyone today traveling away from home to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and sharing the points. They almost won the game had it been the final chance was converted but Arsenal’s goal keeper made a wonderful save. Fulham really tried and worked so hard so i also think they deserved a point.

I was disappointed in Arsenal’s performance today they don’t play the way they played last season maybe it was because of some players that left. If they want to be compete with Manchester City they can’t afford to drop points against a team like fulham, they should up their game else they will find it difficult to challenge for the top 4 spot.

1019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we need to start asking people if...... on: August 26, 2023, 10:41:48 AM
While I was trying to question him about how he know about Bitcoin he revealed that he is a student, and that being a plumber is his side hustle, this answered my curiosity about how he knew about Bitcoin.

In my side too students are the ones that are mostly into bitcoin they just try to make money for themselves one way or another so i am not surprised that he demanded for bitcoin as payment. Alot of people know about bitcoin but you wouldn’t know if they don’t tell you about it. I also saw someone buying bitcoin on Binance one day i went out to watch football, a local competition held in my town i was so surprised because that person didn’t look like someone that would know anything about bitcoin or cryptocurrency i was so happy so i went to him to say hi and we exchanged numbers as well.

Have you guys been promoting Bitcoin by asking workers if they will receive Bitcoin as payment? How was it? This is actually the first time I will do such, all my mind was focused on, if I didn't see Bitcoin Payment Receive here I wouldn't bother.

I would also like to spread the word about bitcoin, but I haven't had much luck lately; everytime I try to do so, people haven't shown much interest, so I've given up on it. Additionally, I haven't come across any businesses that accept bitcoin as payment, but when I do, I'll definitely patronise them.

Chelsea played very well today compared to what they played last weekend against West Ham United. Although Luton Town is not a strong opponent, it is not always easy to win matches in the Premier League. Congratulations to Chelsea on winning their first Premier League match of the season. Kudos to Sterling for scoring two goals and giving one assist. He is the hero in today's game along with other players that played very well to see that they secured the three points for the team
Sterling suprised us all today and it a good thing that he is stepping up to take charge in the attack, he is more experienced in the premier league so he should let Jackson and others learn from him. He played very well against West ham too but chelsea were not lucky to win the match, his drives are now looking more dangerous and he deserves the goals today. The win will boost the team’s spirit and the confidence of the players, Jackson got his first league goal today and it will help him build his goal scoring confidence.

I believe their manager needs to work on the team because, looking at the players, they have individual quality that, if well managed, can give a better result; however, to stay in the Premier League, the team needs to be more prepared and ready to win matches, or else they will be relegated again.
Luton town has a some quality players in their midst but their playing style doesn’t suit the premier league at all especially for a newly promoted team. They play all out attack style instead of them to try and defend, any experienced team will capitalize on that and easily they will loose matches and if they don’t change their style they will get their selves relegated.

Had it been chelsea’s coach didn’t play a defensive formation they may have won the match with a huge margin. In my opinion it is unnecessary to play alot of defenders against a weak side like Luton town. Chelsea need to go back to the formation they used in the preseason because with this new formation their balls are mostly backward and if they meet tougher teams they will find it difficult to win matches.
