1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is centralized, will it still have value ? on: August 12, 2023, 04:56:21 PM
If BTC was centralized but everything else like the Blockchain, launching date, etc is the same. I think it will still have value, look at how many centralized crypto in the market right now, and they still have value. But the value will much more different than now, the community wouldn't be as strong, and the price wouldn't be as high as of now. Though it will still be the father of cryptocurrency since you never mention to delay the launch.
If BTC is centralized, considering it is the pioneer crypto coin, the team behind it might have been manipulating the world for a long time, and it will not get the massive adoption it has already gotten globally.

Moreover, just as other coins are trying to meet up with bitcoin through competition, some of the team members might have betrayed the system for their selfish interests, which might lead to a drastic fall in price, and it couldn't have survived to this level.
1002  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: August 12, 2023, 09:28:57 AM
Half a million will actually go far irrespective of your location and your choice in any of these three mentioned investments.

1. Real estate - It's probably one of the safest investment option out there. Inflation rises, rent and apartment prices rise too, if inflation turns into deflation, your rent/apartment price still remains the same. With half a million, you can buy two or more good apartments in eastern Europe and live on your rent income.
Real estate is one safest investment that exists because it has less risk associated with it and have a future benefit when properly managed. As you mentioned inflation, people that are already into real estate are gaining massively because the cost of renting an apartment is becoming high due to inflation and maintenance costs, going for Real estate will be good for but requires time before one have profit from the investment.

2. Cryptocurrencies are very volatile but rewarding. If you have a discipline and don't let your emotions take control over your decisions, then you can probably grow your capital by 200-500% a year. At least I think so, I think that's possible if one spends most of his time on exchanges and if necessary, spends some nights. So, crypto is very volatile and rewarding but another problem here is that you are dependent on exchanges, what will you do if they don't let you withdraw? Another problem is that you have to take care of your coins because once they are gone, they are gone forever.
Crypto investment is profitable but very risky especially if you want trade and don't have the basic knowledge to trade crypto.

I consider buying and holding BTC for a while, it is safer than investing on any coin in an exchange because of the risk of centralization.

Quote
3. Business - It's like an income generated by Proof Of Work algorithm. Depends on the business and the person, one can achieve a huge financial success and influence or a total failure. But a big and successful business can outperform real estate and crypto investments. To my mind, proof of work is the only thing that can deal with absolutely any kind of financial crisis and disasters.
Business is safer amongst these three but depending on the type of business because there is risk associated with everything. Since you can diversify your money into different aspect of business, you stand the chance making profit in any of the business you started running and the profit will keep the business growing.

Quote
Which one would you choose from these and why?

I will choose business not because it is lower risk than the other two, but because it has a quick return on investment.

Because of inflation and rising living costs, businesses will be easier to generate profit. Due to how expensive everything is becoming, having a good business will keep you busy and provide you with a steady income, unlike to cryptocurrency investment, where the bitcoin market condition will determine when to become profitable, whereas real estate will require you to wait for a certain period of time before you make a profit.
1003  Other / Off-topic / Re: The health benefits of Alcohol, Beers, Whisky and Red wines. on: August 10, 2023, 09:24:29 PM
You can't tell an alcoholic lover to stop drinking alcohol because it causes damages in his system, to be honest the reply you'd get would even get you tired of advising them to stop. Too much of alcohol causes a lot of damages in the system, if not that it can make you start doing things out of other, you can be saying things that doesn't make sense abusing people around you. After some time if they tell you all you did, I believe you won't even agree. So is just not healthy to me.
I think the OP made it clear that he is not telling people to stop taking alcohol but at least we should try and reduce the rate at which we take it not to stop taking it completely because of the outlined benefit of taking alcohol the OP has outlined.

This fact has also make the health benefits of drinking at moderate level not well known. However, moderate drinking can be advantageous to human health, as I will demonstrate below:

* Beers can lower the risk of of kidney stones: Beer was found to reduce the risk of kidney stones by 41%.

* Beers strengthen your bones: Beer's high source of silicon content is what's responsible for an increase in bone density.

* Alcohol can protect you from heart attacks.

* Red wines can help fight colds: 8 -14 glasses of wine per week, one could see a 60% reduction in the risk developing a cold.

* Red wines can boost your memory: A compound found in the skin of red grapes can improve memory and cognitive function.
* Beers have vitamins.
* Whisky can cure sore throats.
* Drinking moderately can improve sexual function in men.
* Drinking can also help in Reducing blood clotting.
* Beer can help stop cataracts.

Addiction in the use of alcohol is a topic that we cannot run away from, I suggest we open discussion about this topic for the purpose of educating each other.
Just that addiction to alcohol is not good for our Healths.
1004  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: August 10, 2023, 09:07:30 PM
Absolutely!!!
Bitcoin is one of the best assets one can have in this century. Instead of depending on fiat currency and fixed deposits, why not have Bitcoin, have gold, have a business, and many other assets available.
All these can give high returns in the long run.
A fantastic option that will also help your retirement savings is to invest a portion of your monthly salary in bitcoin.

If you started investing in bitcoin before retiring, you might not need your pension again because the value of your bitcoin investments may have increased to the point where you can start making enough money to operate your own business after retiring. This generally suggests that enhancing your retirement savings with bitcoin is a good idea.
1005  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your future in bitcointalk forum depends on your effort on: August 10, 2023, 03:04:54 PM
Depending on what you came here for specifically, some folks may merely be looking for confirmation or clarification on a bitcoin-related issue that they are having trouble understanding on their own. Once they get what they want, they leave and don't return until they need more assistance.

While this forum serves as a place for learning and discussion on topics related to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, it is not as serious as you may think, mate. Nevertheless, dedication and determination will help us learn quickly and comprehend bitcoin with ease.
1006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I see it, I feel it, I know it and it will live forever. on: August 10, 2023, 02:16:45 PM

as long as there are people who believe in the power of a decentralized currency like Bitcoin, it means that Bitcoin will continue to be used for a long time to come. maybe there will be fewer users than now or much more, no one can predict, but it is very sure that Bitcoin will remain people's favorite digital currency for their transactions even in the future.
Although nothing lasts forever, because even us will leave this world one day; But as long as people do exist, bitcoin will remain on existence because of its decentralization.

My question is, if miners reward keeps been divided by two after every four years, what will happen if miners no longer have reward?
1007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin best option to invest on: August 10, 2023, 02:02:07 PM
Theirs so many investment to invest but many people are seeing bitcoin as the highest place to invest their money but I'm not seeing bitcoin as highest investing plan ever,
Then what are you doing here since you don't take bitcoin as the highest coin for investment.  As others have said, bitcoin is the highest cryptocurrency to invest in and after bitcoin then Enthereum.  But before you invest in bitcoin make sure you know the in and out. The risk involved in it so that you will not blame anyone for your downfall.
Is not good not to research, when you research of things you pick some point's,  many people here have their way of life and their way of understanding somethings of bitcoin, from past thread I read so many of the people who invested in bitcoin advice us that is beginners in bitcoin investment that it should be our second option of investment, so I'm telling you guys that bitcoin is not highest option for investment but many of you rise against my statement, diversify your source of income not only in bitcoin and don't take bitcoin investment as the key investment because its a virtual currency despite that its a decentralized currency
You are expressing your opinion based on what you know about investing in bitcoin; nonetheless, your viewpoint shouldn't coincide with that of others. Some of us here are eager to have money simply for investing in bitcoin since we feel secure doing so, if you regard it as a side business or alternative investment.

What is the initial investing option if bitcoin is your second choice?
Your manner of speaking only serves to confirm my suspicions that you are clueless of bitcoin and may require some clarification on the distinction between work and investment. Make sure you trust bitcoin if you're using your money to purchase it.
1008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin decentralization debate on: August 09, 2023, 04:53:59 PM

How can I convince my friend that Bitcoin is indeed decentralized?
The majority of centralized things rarely have the ideal moment. Take into account other coins; occasionally, you'll hear or see news about their teams' personal conflicts, which will have an immediate negative impact on the project before they are resolved and the project is maintained. Has your friend ever observed a similar trend with bitcoin?

In fact, since conspiracy believers are difficult to persuade, you don't need to waste your time trying; all you need to do is do your best to convince your friend that Bitcoin is decentralized and then walk away if he doesn't believe you.
1009  Economy / Economics / Re: No choice but to use the unavoidable middle man, the exchange companies. on: August 09, 2023, 02:53:07 PM

You can not eliminate the middle man in businesses, especially in this digital age, be it fiat or cryptocurrencies, because they have come to stay. Big exchanges like Binance, are cashing in on being the middle man in businesses, an unavoidable indirect business associates, in your face, waiting for you to go through them.

Some of these exchanges require our personal information before we can evaluate them, implying that we do not care about our privacy just because we want a middleman service, which is contrary to how I believe bitcoin functions.

When looking for quick ways to transact with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, we turn to exchanges. However, if we can invest the time to learn about privacy and how important it is, we will be forced to adopt peer-to-peer transactions regardless of the risk.
1010  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: August 09, 2023, 02:37:54 PM
Now more and more millionaires are concerned with humanity, of course, the popular ones are Bill Gates who like to make donations throughout the world with well -designed programs, in my country of assistance from millionaires, of course, it is immediately useful because it is related to the agricultural system, 5 or 6 years ago there are millionaires which provides assistance worth $ 10 million and is used for rice field irrigation systems thereby increasing farmers' production
That may be true in some regions of the world, but not in my nation, where millionaires are the root of our nation's economic woes since they are opportunistic and attempt to control every industry that will boost the economy while ultimately avoiding paying taxes to the government.

If millionaires can support the farmers in this way, there will surely be an increase in production capacity, which will improve the agricultural sector of the country's economy and give farmers optimism that they can make a comfortable living by paying for their kids' education.
1011  Economy / Economics / Re: New Research found Work from home workers to be less productive on: August 09, 2023, 02:28:42 PM

These researchers found that if you work from home you will be less efficient and productive than people who from their office. Can we say the same about freelance workers?  Do you think that if workers are given the chance to "own" a task like freelancers they'll be more productive because it is just like being self-employed where you treat it as your business and not with the mindset of another man's business?
Depending on the type of work you are doing, some tasks may require your complete attention, which you might not have in your workplace, while others may require you to seek out the help of professionals, which you cannot accomplish from home.

Both of them have benefits and drawbacks, but some office workers would welcome the opportunity to work from home because, on occasion, the stress of driving to the workplace can be stressful.
1012  Economy / Economics / Re: Big companies will never let you have the financial freedom on: August 09, 2023, 02:21:46 PM
Government will always needs everything to be under control. But in my opinion it's understandable at some extent, not all of the citizen under the government have understanding and knowledge in financial and technology, and those people need to be protected by the government, and the easiest way to protect is to make everything under their control.
That is why government is restricting them from adopting Bitcoin because if they found out the importance of having financial freedom through bitcoin, the government cannot be able to control them again as they will prefer buying and holding bitcoin instead of been control by government.

Quote
And about big companies its much more simple, they need to make profit, if they can control their product, they wont make any profit. The only option if people want the currency that is not under control is to use a pure decentralized.
That is bitcoin.
1013  Other / Politics & Society / Re: a slap on the faces of patriotic citizens on: August 08, 2023, 07:09:28 PM
there is absolutely nothing wrong in critizing your leader. criticism is part of democracy but when you call your country a zoo and all sorts of names and regret being a citizen, you have crossed the redline.
I also have no problem with some people's vituperation and hate over there country but to suddenly decide to serve the same country you hate is hypocrisy of the highest order. and such people will have nothing to offer.they want to make use of the government to gain there own personal subscription, if appointed at the end. Because there are enemies of the country.
Since democracy is the rule of the people, it has opened our eyes and minds, so we will share our thoughts.

Being a leader requires a lot of effort and dedication, which some leaders are not willing to give. Some leaders are only there for their own self-serving purposes and will simply act in the way they like without regard to the consequences.

Since it is a democratic administration, we can criticize it and demand improvements if we find anything wrong.
1014  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Imagine life if there was know bitcointalk like this forum on: August 08, 2023, 01:33:37 PM
OP, op you are wrong, Bitcointalk is a community designed to discuss about bitcoin and it's price speculations, am a new beginner as you and I know my purpose for being here, before I signed up on Bitcointalk I told my self I must learn Bitcoin before anyother crypto currency and here I am, an investor so OP I will advise you to try and know your purpose here on Bitcointalk, if you are here to look for money sorry theirs non but if you want to learn about bitcoin you are free to learn.

Although the OP has stated that the main goal of the bitcointalk forum is to discuss bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, some people have different intentions when they join the community. However, the forum does have the added benefit of allowing high rank members to make some money through advertisements while they are actively helping other members.
But OP, you need to realize that the forum is much more than just a place to make money because you can learn anything about bitcoin there by asking questions or reading other discussions.
1015  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the market still profitable for new projects? on: August 08, 2023, 12:17:04 PM
Given the crowding of the market with hundreds of new projects and the emergence of new services or companies every day, I think that the number of investors or users of these services does not correspond to this large increase.

So my question is: is this market still profitable for new projects?
The market situation is not encouraging because if the price of bitcoin is down, then it's likely that no new project will succeed.

However, new projects that have good potential should be taken into consideration right away, especially given that we're getting close to the time when bitcoin mining rewards will be halved in 2024.
1016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime on: August 08, 2023, 11:22:09 AM
Because of bitcoin does not give public details of people who make transaction with it, some people do say it promote crime. People needs to understand one of the features of bitcoin is freedom that anybody can get access to it, it does not discriminate.  The privacy features of bitcoin is very important to humanity,  which I know one of its advantage is for safety by using cryptography that makes all transactions safe and encrypted.
People, particularly the government, who are looking for ways to blackmail bitcoin claim that it has been used to promote crime, despite the fact that crime has existed long before bitcoin.

Some people are already accustomed to centralization and will find it difficult to change their minds. That is why they are attempting to blackmail Bitcoin.
Bitcoin was created to allow us financial freedom while also protecting our identities when we conduct bitcoin transactions, despite the fact that the blockchain is public and can be read by anyone.
1017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 06, 2023, 09:08:04 PM

Arteta made some errors in todays match, he should have substituted Harvertz earlier than when he did, and Timber was really performing well in his position, he shouldn’t have substituted him, immediately Arteta removed Timber then Manchester City had the opportunity to score their goal.

Yes Arteta formation and tactics were bad today, firstly Timber was excellent but struggled to use his left foot from the left side properly, since Zincheko is available then Timber should start as a Center back and Zinchenko at the left. Then that settles the back four. Although Ramsadale saved a penalty today I still feel arsenal needs another goal keeper and Raya will be a good upgrade. The midfield picks it self today because I love the three players there, they complement each other. As for attack Nketiah should be ahead of Havertz and Trossard needs more time on the left wing. While Saka also needs a competition
Additionally, I expect Arsenal manager Mickel Arteta to bring on Nketiah and Trossard on time due to some errors Hervertz made in the first half of the game, and the substitution of Timber was another decision that Arsenal fans were unhappy with because that was the position Manchester City used to score Arsenal after he was substituted. Saka needs a competitor, a player of his calibre, but for the time being, they have Nelson to back him up, even though they are not in the same class in terms of performance on the pitch.
1018  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did Bitcoin Bring a Smile to Your Face? How Did You Make It Happen? on: August 06, 2023, 08:54:58 PM
It has been quite interesting going through the comments under this thread post, Can we say in conclusion it is a very bad idea stopping our monthly paid job for Bitcoin trading or Holding?
Because of the risk involved in bitcoin trading, I do not believe it is a wise decision to stop our monthly paid job for bitcoin trading or holding; however, holding bitcoin is a good thing to do; yet, if we decide to leave our job to hold bitcoin, we will not have some money to use on daily expenses. We can save some of our monthly earnings to buy bitcoin and use the rest to cover our fundamental necessities.
1019  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reasons for Doing your own research on: August 06, 2023, 08:44:26 PM

Legitimate information is accurate information that has been obtained from several sources and has been verified by a trusted source; if you obtain information from reputable journalism sources, it is legitimate information.
