1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: February 13, 2016, 01:53:25 AM

I suggested to implement (I2p / Freenet) to ANC before ages (at v 0.7.x if i rember it correctly)
and i am happy that it become reality.

Lul wut? Anoncoin supported i2p since day 1, i'm waiting to see you dig up that quote.
Im glad you support anoncoin, but lets not say things that are not true

1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ExchangeD.I2P Darknet CryptoCurrency Exchange on: February 06, 2016, 08:04:48 AM
Ram upgrade will happen this weekend or next week, i will update when i know when exactly
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ExchangeD.I2P Darknet CryptoCurrency Exchange on: January 24, 2016, 07:31:53 AM
The exchange is fully functional however we are reaching a RAM bottleneck. We have disabled the NuBits wallet because that was taking up a lot of memory and does not have any deposits and have ordered ram upgrades.

When the RAM arrives we will go down for a few hours for a hardware hardware. I will update here when I know the specific time for the hardware upgrade.

Also we are working on integrating CryptoNote coins, and have made some progress with that, after the hardware upgrades we add bytecoin, monero and magnatoj
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HempCoin #HMP $HMP backed by public company $RMTN on: January 21, 2016, 12:07:27 AM
HempCoin was just listed on C-Cex.com, the first exchange to list it... this is huge for HempCoin and $RMTN the public company that is backing the crytocurrency with shares.

So this is a corporate coin, eh?

Dont knock it, this is the new fad, new coins launching everyday backed by amazon payment processors, piss, and alpaca socks

For its first four years online, a portion of every mined Zcash coin will go directly to Wilcox’s Zcash company and a smaller portion to a non-profit he’s creating to oversee the Zcash code and community longterm. Wilcox says that he plans for 1 percent of Zcash’s currency to ultimately go towards that non-profit, and 10 percent to be paid to the for-profit startup.
sounds like the typical instiminted story, nothing more than a money making scheme imo, i have great respect for some of the people involved but have they removed the backdoor ?

with ZeroCash, the people than create it can exploit the initial parameters and sign bogus transactions to give themselves unlimited free coins, it looks like instead of finding a solution for this, they have embraces it as a means of making themselves rich Sad

How many anoncoins do they still have, last guestimate i heard is 500k or about 1/4 of all currently mined anoncoins. and 1/6 of total supply.

Announcement

Cryptsy has had problems for some time now and it’s time to let everybody know exactly why.  These problems were NOT because of any recent phishing attacks, or even a ddos attack, nor does it have anything to do with me personally.

About a year and a half ago, we were alerted in the early AM of a reduction in our safe/cold wallet balances of Bitcoin and Litecoin, as well as a couple other smaller cryptocurrencies.   After a period of time of investigation it was found that the developer of Lucky7Coin had placed an IRC backdoor into the code of wallet, which allowed it to act as a sort of a Trojan, or command and control unit.   This Trojan had likely been there for months before it was able to collect enough information to perform the attack.  It does not appear that this was the original developer for LK7, as on 5/22/2014, we received this message from the new developer who wanted to maintain the codebase:

Hello,

Lucky7Coin is not maintained and I would like to take care of it. I have announced that on bitcointalk.org in Lucky7Coin thread. You’re the only exchange for this coin and I hope you will let me take care of it. I’m responsible. You don’t have to be afraid of errors or forks. I’m developing multipool and I know bitcoin internals and protocol.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295157.msg6861797#msg6861797

For a start I’ve changed irc network, so clients could synchronize blockchain. Please upgrade as soon as you can.

Github repo:
https://github.com/alerj78/lucky7coin

Branch “master” will always be for stable version, branch “devel” could be dirty. In a 2-3 weeks I’ll release new version with p2pool support and checkpoints. Before that I’ll contact you to check few blocks hashes for checkpoints and make sure there is no fork.

I hope we can cooperate and make this coin live again!

Jack

These are the approximate figures taken:
Bitcoin:  13,000 BTC
Litecoin:  300,000 LTC

This of course was a critical event for Cryptsy, however at the time the website was earning more than it was spending and we still have some reserves of those cryptocurrencies on hand.   The decision was made to pull from our profits to fill these wallets back up over time, thus attempting to avert complete closure of the website at that time.   This worked fine for awhile, as profits decreased due to low volume and low Bitcoin prices, we would adjust our spending accordingly.  It wasn’t until an article from Coinfire came out that contained many false accusations that things began to crumble.   The article basically caused a bank-run, and since we only had so much in reserves for those currencies problems began.

Our current customer liabilities for BTC is around 10,000 BTC, so as you can see we would like to see the Bitcoins returned for both our users and for ourselves.

Here are the transaction details from the Bitcoin wallet:

https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/0c07e0bec1002bd2

As you can see,  2014-07-29 13:17:36 is when the event occurred.   A very interesting fact here, however, is that those Bitcoins have not moved once since this happened.    This gives rise to the possibility they can be recovered.   In fact, I’m offering a bounty of 1000 BTC for information which leads to the recovery of the stolen coins.

If you happen to be the perpetrator of this crime, and want to send the coins back no questions asked, then you can simply send them to this address:

1KNi4E4MTsF7gfuPKPNAbrZWQvtdQBTAAa

If they are returned, then we will assume that no harm was meant and will not take any action to reveal who you are.  If not, well, then I suppose the entire community will be looking for you.

Some may ask why we didn’t report this to the authorities when this occurred, and the answer is that we just didn’t know what happened, didn’t want to cause panic, and were unsure who exactly we should be contacting.   At one time we had a open communication with Secret Service Agent Shaun Bridges on an unrelated matter, but I think we all know what happened with him – so he was no longer somebody we could report this to.    Recently I attempted to contact the Miami FBI office to report this, but they instead directed me to report it on the I3C website.  I’ve not heard anything from them.

I think the only real people who can assist with this are the people of the Bitcoin community itself.

Trades and withdrawals will be suspended on the site indefinately until some sort of resolution can be made.

Here are our options:

1. We shut down the website and file bankruptcy, letting users file claims via the bankruptcy process and letting the court make the disbursements.

- or –

2. Somebody else comes in to purchase and run Cryptsy while also making good on requested withdrawals.

- or –

3. If somehow we are able to re-aquire the stolen funds, then we allow all withdrawal requests to process.

I’m obviously open to any other ideas people may have on this.

1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Have over 0.3BTC on Cryptsy? DO NOT TRY TO WITHDRAW! on: January 15, 2016, 06:16:15 AM

You don't know that. Probably not a very popular opinion here but I trust the guy. Of course I wouldn't recommend to anyone to deposit funds on cryptsy right now but If I had some bitcoin left I think I would risk some more.

guess we know now for sure
1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy - - Are they Dead/Dying or just a bunch of fools? POLL on: January 15, 2016, 06:12:13 AM
Ok so withdraws don't  seem to be working. There is a lack of communications from support they are not responding to emails.
Their phone lines are dead. Project Investors Inc. (888) 963-9935 Delray Beach, FL. Seems that we are getting screwed at this point thank god i dont send all my coins there but my sold coins or USD are stuck in withdraw since Dec. 29. I been working hard so i haven't withdrew hoping to use this as vacation money now on vacation and pissed off the charts. Im in flordia and debating if it would be worth it to drive to their place of business. I wonder if this has something to do with the regulations that New York passed leaving NY bit-nodes to be blacklisted by some and business to close up shop in that area. I'm leaving this as a resent account for people wondering WTF because there is a lack of info on this topic.
recent complaint ticket #250150 Jan 8
original complaint ticket #248783 Jan 6
usually they respond within 48 hours
withdraw of funds requested on 12/29/15

UPDATE:1/14/16
Well support ended up cancelling my request to withdraw my usd funds. They gave no explanation to why?  But on cryptsy sight today on 1/14/16 they have promised to release more info on what has been going on over the last couple of months. As well as warning of phishing attacks on customers. They also suspended all withdraws probably to prevent bank runs and a downfall of the site <(my opinion). This maybe seen as a good thing they way want to save cryptsy. But until i hear more im not going to panic like the rest. I have about 1600$ on this exchange alone.

Update: 1/14/16 Breaking Story
Class action filed against cryptsy

Important System Notification

Phishing Attempt:: There is a phishing attempt going around prompting users to go to a cryptsy-refund website. Do not go to this website or give your login details on any website other than the official Cryptsy website. There were two avenues of the Phishing attempt. One was via SMS, using our provider Twilio and gained entry into our logs and sending ability via a weak password on that account. The passwords on this account have been secured. The other avenue was via email using the same mailing service we use (Mailgun), but was not sent using our account. It is uncertain where the email list for this Phishing attempt was attained from, as we do not show any unauthorized access to our Mailgun account nor our internal systems. We are still investigating this matter. If you were a victim of this phishing, you should log into your account at Cryptsy immediately and do the following: 1. Change your password and enable 2fa if you don’t already have it enabled. 2. Check your pending withdrawals, we currently have withdrawals disabled so if you see one that shouldn’t be there you can request to have it cancelled. Regarding other issues that have been apparent at Cryptsy for the last couple months, I will be making another post to explain what has been happening in the next couple days. Until we are able to determine the extent of the phishing attempt, all withdrawals are paused and will be cancelled before they are brought back live.....BigVern

I posted this on a discussion and looking at it I thought that it would be good to share it here. The reason I am sharing it here is compared to other anonymous coins Bata looks like it is being overlooked.

my link is not working, because I am a newbie so maybe someone can kindly repost it here.

Nice chart, thanks for sharing

A stupid question, but are there any upper limits of how many ANC can be sent in a transaction?

Upper limit is your total account balance. Smiley

Abyss,
I now registered, tested and traded on http://exchanged.i2p.xyz and it seems to work. However, I need buttons like all-in and calculations.

Awesome! The issue with adding all-in and calculation buttons is they require javascript which can be used to deanonymize users. I plan on doing an open source desktop client though, this way I can provide a platform with client side scripting and more shiny features that are limited with the i2p site.
I hope to have i2p embedded in this so there is not an issue connecting.

Just keep in mind that i2p.xyz is a 3rd party inproxy service and you are sending financial data through them unencrypted. I don't know who runs it and i cannot vouch for them.
