I agree 100%. If this were to raise to $100/dash....I'd have to bail. Something would be very wrong with that kind of movement. Slow gradual and shallow up and down raises with a slow up tick is what is wanted, especially from something that we are developing into a currency. I looked at other coins doing 75% raises in a day and that raises all sorts of red flags. . Want an example of what is a good model?...BTC. Been steady mid 200 to 280 range for quite awhile...thats positive and creates stability. IMHO.
Slow steady rises with corrections are the best. I always try to focus on the volume, and right now the debt slave Gov paper promissory notes compared to Dash's proof of real work already done volume is looking very good and rising all the time. Look at Cryptsy's Dash / bitcoin pair, its easily the highest ! http://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/1. Very very very interesting Im glad to be in the best crypto that ever exist Hard empirical based data and not general hearsay is what matters and is far more scientific! Edit: there are 1 or 2 more coins going to be added, but they are taking so long, I am getting bored waiting for them to eventually update

Phew - have nearly finished! Take a look what our excellent development team have achieved so far..
Early results for weekend benchmark fun and World Record Breaking time :-
For the purposes of clarity and to help measurements when measuring speeds of different coin's blockchains when updating, allow me to introduce a new term which is a dimensionless time based ratio called Tao, this is defined as the wallet update time ratio, where Tao = (seconds in real time spent updating) / (hours of blockchain data behind in wallet)
Connection speed 100 megabits/second. Machine 1 : Windows 7 64 bit, SSD (500 megabytes/s up+down, SATA 3) 4.4 GHz i7 4820k Machine 2 : Windows 7 64 bit, HDD (3 gigabits, SATA 2), 2.4 GHz Intel Duo E4600
7th March 2015
Machine 1,SSD: Darkcoin (0.11.1.25) = Tao ratio = 1.346 seconds / hour of update + ( 9.85 seconds indexing startup time ) Machine 1,SSD: Bitcoin (0.10.0) = Tao ratio = 3.304 seconds / hour of update + ( 34.4 seconds indexing startup time ) Darkcoin is 2.4 times quicker than bitcoin
Machine 2,HDD : Darkcoin (0.11.1.25) = Tao ratio = 3.817 seconds per hour of update + ( 19.07 seconds indexing startup time ) Machine 2,HDD : Bitcoin (0.10.0) = Tao ratio = 26.14 seconds per hour of update + ( 838 seconds indexing startup time ) Darkcoin is 6.9 times quicker than bitcoin on traditional 3 gig sata hard drives of average cpu spec.
27th March 2015
Machine 1,SSD: Dash (0.11.2.10) = Tao ratio = 0.5434 seconds / hour + (15.63 seconds indexing startup time) Machine 1,SSD: Bitcoin (0.10.0) = Tao ratio = 4.663 seconds / hour + (62.32 seconds indexing startup time) Dash is 8.581 times quicker than bitcoin
Machine 2,HDD : Dash (0.11.2.10) = Not completed. Machine 2,HDD : Bitcoin (0.10.0) = Tao ratio = 9.645 seconds / hour + (623.4 seconds indexing time)
Observations: Dash has smashed the Tao update speed barrier of unity 1, currently Tao sets a new record = Tao ratio = 0.5434 seconds / hr !! The cpu of the HDD machine maxs out at 100% with bitcoin, indexing goes very slow especially on the first run from cold start and gives spurious update times (Darkcoin is totally stable at 40% CPU) Darkcoin update times were statistically closer together and more stable especially on the HDD. Finding nodes to connect to with bitcoin takes longer than with Dash. On the HDD dual core machine, the entire Dash blockchain of 427 days downloaded and updated quicker than only 19 days of bitcoin (32.6 times quicker!)
Conclusions: a) For i7 SSD, Darkcoin (version 0.11.1.25) was 2.4 times quicker than improved bitcoin, now Dash (unreleased version 0.11.2.10) is 8.581 times quicker for updating than bitcoin and also indexing is 4 times quicker. b) Fast modern machines and solid state drives work well with the bitcoin faster hop times but older machines do not like it, and use too many resources bottle necking the bus bandwidth. c) Bitcoin blockchain length is too large for older, slower machines with less bus and memory bandwidth, especially on a first time windows start of the day. d) Bitcoin is slowing down and Dash is getting quicker, best Dash Tao ratio = 0.5434 seconds/hour, best bitcoin Tao ratio = 4.663 seconds/hour. e) for the entire blockchain update, Dash is only 14% slower on old HDD dual core machine compared to new fast SSD setup, so it is strongly resistant to high latency time traditional hard drive powered setups with limited bandwidth. Speculations: The 60 times speedups to bitcoin's hop times have been filled to the brim in the memory pool/buffers and now the bitcoin transactions limit of 7 per second has already maxed out. It is invitable given the approach that this will only get worse over time.
Sundry Total time for entire blockchain of Dash to download on SSD i7 = 42 minutes, complete Tao ratio = 0.2476 seconds / hour Total time for entire blockchain of Dash to download on dual HDD machine = 50.5 minutes, complete Tao ratio = 0.2956 seconds / hour
Have a great weekend everyone :-)

Thank you, let us know please.
I am hoping the wallet up date time ratio will eventually beat a little target I set of less than 1 second per hour, am not aware any other coin has or can do this, in all of crypto this could well be a world record

Have you guys noticed dash network slow downs lately or is it just me?
Yer I thought that, I have recorded some benchmark update times for the 11.1.25 version from the 7th March, over the weekend I will compare the new Dash indexing and update times with the previous DRK version on a couple of machines and let you how it goes. Previous best on an SSD machine was 1.358 seconds per hour of wallet update time ...

Are mining calculators correct (like what to mine) with their estimation in coins per day?
They don't factor in masternode "fees" do they?!
nobody knows that ? No they probably don't factor in the 40% masternode deduction as its usually only a general estimate of X11 mining per megahash and not coin specific. Highly dependent on current hash rate and difficulty, but last time I checked it swung between 0.1-0.2 Dash = 10 megahash.

Should be fixed now.
Evan, all in all, thats a pretty smooth problem free switchover and release so far

WOW 4hr RSI just pulled back up to the support line for one more run out of nowhere There will come a point - during this or a future rally - that Dash enters the LTC gravitational sphere of influence. Main engines can then be shut down for a while to allow for some coasting through 3 phases of hedging propensity governed by the inverse square law: [1] - light hedging, as the LTC market discounts the direct loss of marketcap to dash [2] - heavy hedging as Dash's looming proximity invokes the spectre of a real threat to the number 2 crypto [3] - outright rotation, where LTC collapses from red giant to white dwarf status and begins its long plummet down through the rankings to a new natural resting place We may already have crossed the outer boundary of this field and be experiencing light buffeting from our distant objective in which case classic pump and dump cryptocurrency market dynamics no longer apply. It's a question of critical mass Red giants, white dwarfs, outer boundaries, light buffering.....I feel like I'm in a Startrek episode "Where no man has gone before"! It's terribly exciting! Tok has not given a colour to this alert yet? In the immortal words of the Red Dwarf Crew :- ' I hate to go all technical on you, but all hands on deck, swirly thing alert' -- Cat ' step up to red alert' -- Rimmer ' Sir, are you absolutely sure, this does mean changing the light bulb' -- Kryten ' Theres always some excuse isn't there ' -- Rimmer https://youtu.be/Qa_gZ_7sdZglolol.

Thats what I thought on the correction after the rise to 18 - then I got screwed.
The simple fact is, nobody's selling - and why should they with the future this project's got. The rise happened so quickly due to low supply. Half of it is tied up in masternodes earning service interest and the other half is in the hands of holders who have spent the last year becoming familiar with the long term characteristics and objectives of this project so a major revaluation was on the cards sonner or later.
Yer, got my fleece a little singed on that day trade

I don't like doing my homework and and am not very good with numbers.
Utter nonsense about Dash having bloat, I did these calculations a while back (end of January), others have seen this post before. Please do check my numbers if you dare. The stats used are from bitinfocharts:- Darkcoin blockchain size = 0.5715 GigaBytes Days since genesis block=370 days Average Rate of growth for blockchain per day=1.5 MegaBytes/day quarkcoin block size = 2.4 GigaBytes days since genesis block = 550 days average rate of growth for blockchain per day = 4.3 MegaBytes/day litecoin blockchain size = 3.99 GigaBytes days since genesis block = 1201 days average rate of growth for blockchain per day = 3.3 MegaBytes/day dogecoin blockchain size = 8.49 GigaBytes days since genesis block = 412 days average rate of growth for blockchain per day = 20 MegaBytes/day bitcoin blockchain size = 34.3 GigaBytes days since genesis block = 2205 days average rate of growth for blockchain = 15 MegaBytes/day Monero blockchain size =3.5 gigabytes days since genesis block =303 days average rate of growth for blockchain =11.6 megabytes/day

As an extra mega caution, it might be wise to withdraw any funds from exchanges during the renaming process, human errors can and do happen LOOL !! I just did exactly that !! EDIT: Is it just voodoo, or every time I move a substantial chunk I get 7-10 min blocks? And they're not even my funds lool... Anyway, just a friendly "mintpalish" reminder to all. Don't leave coins in exchanges! Must be all the busy trading. InstantX puts it in the next block if possible, but we can't help other way round just yet as no exchange option. I did have a withdrawal from bitfinex that took less than 1 minute with no pending at all, it appeared to dive straight into my wallet as confirmed Btw, is there a way of telling how many transactions are stored in the memory pool waiting to be confirmed, we could chart transaction activity and look at the buffer queue ?

I've certainly been guilty of this behavior in the last week. It must be what it is like at AA or something, you feel dirty, unfulfilled and down on your self after interacting with such scum. My name is Richard and i'm been a TRoll Feeder. But I am recovering....thanks Anon. I admit to a tiny little bit of troll baiting at times, is this so wrong? Good morning everyone

https://DashTalk.org is now live! All old links/threads/posts/anything will automatically point you in the right place. Currently I need to update the logo for the site. If anyone could provide me with the new logo with "Talk" underneath it as a transparent background .png. I'd be extremely grateful. **If you are experiencing any issues whatsoever, I'll be on IRC so please feel free to PM me. Thanks! Thanks for all the hard work, have thought of something can do in return

I'm getting some posts deleted by moderators. Wtf is this shit?
This is actually good as it means the cleanup has finally begun. If you quoted trolls you may have been deleted as collateral damage. No. It's called some Mod on a Power trip! Take it with a pinch of salt, I got one deleted once and all I said was 'Evan, you're doing a great job and thanks for all the hard work you put in'

So with the re-branding tomorrow, is the new client going to create a new appdata folder? If so, will the migration process just be moving your wallet.dat file?
I have already tried creating a new folder option, choose it when you start Dash's wallet for first time, not seen any problems as yet. If you want to run Dash and darkcoin at the same time create a new config in the Dash folder, named dash.conf, and only place listen=0 inside it. Now you can transfer balance from darkcoin to Dash directly, both hot.
