1001  Other / Meta / Re: About the recent server compromise on: June 09, 2015, 11:31:18 PM
So servers should die with their admins?

My servers are of a personal nature, so yes, I'd rather have the servers die with me than be hacked. For an organization, root passwords can be stored in a secure location, and known by a select few admins. I can see no reason ever for an ISP to have root access (unless of course it's a server with no real value).

I've worked with DoD facilities. They would never pass root passwords to upstream ISPs.

All these shitty ponzies end the same, you have been warned... Congrats on making money from scammers though Wink I guess you entered this ponzi early enough..

Unfortunately he made money from other victims. The scammers didn't lose anything.
1003  Other / Meta / Re: About the recent server compromise on: June 08, 2015, 10:38:07 PM
No, it is not. What would happen if theymos actually forgot his password and they couldn't reset it?
You can't prevent social engineering, no matter what you do.

LOL! A server admin needs a mommy to reset his password for him? I'm sorry, but if you can't keep your root password safe, you don't deserve to be a server admin. No one ever needs to know the root passwords to my servers. No one. Ever.
1004  Other / Meta / Re: About the recent server compromise on: June 08, 2015, 12:21:35 AM
So NFOrce reset the server's root password for him, giving him complete access to the server

Is this normal for ISPs to have the sort of access that allows them to reset any server root password??? That is insane!!!

I don't see any mining going on.

I think jailing him during the proceedings is fitting because it ensures he is present.

You mean after he is extradited? He fled the country long ago.

I don't think you understand the difference between public "personal" information and private information.

You're right, I don't. Why don't you point out the rule specifying what info is prohibited?

That means you have successfully fulfilled exactly 0 contracts so far. Congratulations I guess.

That means you are not aware of the fact that even third party cloud mining monitors are reporting ROI with CMW - www.cmmonitor.com/24-cloudmining-website.html

ROI? Completely and utterly irrelevant. They do not sell ROI contracts. They sell 1-year contracts. They have never ever run even a single contract to the end!

I've made ROI at bitcoin cloud mining services.  I think it was something like 200 days but mine was a very small investment... I think .15 BTC.  I was lucky and signed up when they had 5-year contracts.  I think they have a promotion running now where it's a 2-year contract.  Not sure if it's worth the risk but maybe okay for a small venture.  I may throw another .15 that way... or not :-)

If you have .15 to toss away, PM me. I promise to return some of your investment back to you at some later date.

Where are our refunds?  Angry

11.3 The Purchaser understands and agrees that we will use his payment in order to purchase the necessary materials or pay workmanship required to fulfill his pre-order which will be non-refundable if cancelled. For this reason, the purchaser hereby gives us the right and agrees with our decision to decline any requests from him or third parties to cancel his pre-order.

How nice of you to pick and choose which terms you keep.

We have not cancelled the compensation. As announced, compensation is going to be shipped immediately as we clear the queue.

Queue cleared and no compensation.

It's real, but don't click on links in an email. Type mtgox.com into your browser and go from there.

My husband's father is from New Zealand.  We have seriously considered moving there at some point and we are thankful that we have that option if and when we feel it is time.

Today is the day that reminds me how nice it is to live in New Zealand.

What a shame. This was the only thread that was somewhat interesting in the Hardware forum. Nothing is going on in the hardware space atm.
1018  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitcoin mining energy efficiency over time on: April 10, 2015, 05:45:07 AM
IIRC the bitfury gear was actually more in the 0.9-1.3w/GH range depending on overvolting. I still have my 6-card rig from the september batch hashing away, but i think its drawing >1.1w/GH and is time to be unplugged any day now if the price doesnt break $250 upwards

Yup, my Bitfury ran at .9 J/GH, delivered around Nov '13.

Why not?

They don't have any hardware. All their "contracts" are ponzis.
