1001  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Came back from long haitus on: August 13, 2023, 09:43:59 PM
I came back here on Bitcointalk from a very long hiatus due to personal reasons. I wanted to start offering again my services such as participating in signature campaigns but I don't know where to start. Can some tell me what are the current qualifications to join some campaign and how/where to get them? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Sorry to say this but I think your account might be an old one but seems the user is new. Well, a lot of cases are happening like that. However, if you are the same user like before, perhaps you could start become active in the forum first so you will be updated on the current requirements on applying for a signature campaign. Aside from the merit system, same old rules should be observed and be followed. And by avoiding some forms of plagiarism like using those AI ready made posts, then you will not fall from being removed from the campaign.
1002  Economy / Economics / Re: New Research found Work from home workers to be less productive on: August 13, 2023, 09:08:36 PM
I could not attest to it because I myself is also a work from home worker and yet, I still manage to finish my task on its due date, and on its best outcome. However, probably with workers who have a lot of distractions at home, like they need to take care of their kids and attend to their needs, send them to school, do the household chores, most likely the time to get the job done will be affected as well as its outcome and productivity. If the same scenario will continue, this will leave a negative impact on the company causing its productivity rate to suddenly fall.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: August 13, 2023, 01:07:23 PM
Many of us here were mistaken in our predictions. Valdez appeared significantly smaller against Navarette, and his movement seemed predictable. Navarette managed to evade Valdez's powerful shots and counter with heavy punches. During the announcement of the winner, Navarette's face remained relatively fresh, whereas Valdez's face bore visible damage. Therefore, the judges decision appears to be accurate; Valdez wasn't yet prepared for this division.

You're correct, as many of us assume that bookies have insight into the likely winner before a fight. In this case, despite Navarette being the defending champion, Valdez was actually listed as the favorite to win. This typical expectation was overturned in the actual fight.

Now, Valdez has experienced two consecutive losses in championship fights. The question arises: what lies ahead for him?

Congratulations to the bettors who guess it right, the odds was 4.20 for Navarette  to win by decision.
1004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 13, 2023, 12:22:15 PM
The Athletic is reporting that the Philadelphia 76ers are refusing to trade James Harden and requesting him to appear in training camp. However, James Harden has said he has no plans to play for the 76ers this year and won’t be attending training camp. We’ve got ourselves a bit of a stand-off situation to start the 2024 season.

Not sure what is happening to the 76ers right now, but they have been in this kind of situation before. We all know it started with the Ben Simmons drama and it dragged them out for months. And so it seems the curse is not yet over as in less than two years they have this situation again.

I guess if they have given so much power to NBA players, we will see this kind of stand off. Not the first time though, and if I'm not mistaken, Kyrie has this kind of situation as well and Kawhi Leonard, when he was with the Spurs and doesn't want to play unless he gets traded and he got his wish back then after a year and traded to Toronto and win their first championship ring.

This seems like a flashback to Ben Simmons' history, LOL. If we end up witnessing a similar situation, we might not see James Harden next season either. The team seems to have no plans of trading, so Harden will have to remain on vacation, waiting for the right time to be traded. There appears to be a problem with the 76ers' management; the team's cohesion with players isn't great, with stars leaving. Except for Embiid, who stands out, or could it be that Embiid is part of the problem?
1005  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am confused !!!! on: August 12, 2023, 09:43:58 PM
Good day to you all, I am new here and I will like to get your advice, apart from bitcoin,do you think that there is a high possibilities of making profit from other altcoins. Also which wallet do you advise a newbie like me to use to store my coins. Are exchanges wallet an open source wallet. How can I differentiate an open source wallet from a close source wallet.
Yes, there are still inevitable chances that you will also profit from altcoins but it’s hard to tell these days which altcoins that will be profitable for long term and which are not so you have to closely study those  altcoins first before you decide to chose where to invest. And never put them in a centralized exchanges but chose a non-custodian wallet instead. That way, you will have your full access to your investment while securing an open source wallet that provides transparency on your part.
1006  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ~If you must trade~ on: August 12, 2023, 08:59:36 PM
I would say having good patience will leave your trading successfully right. Once you’re patient enough, it’s as good as your emotions are not wild and are still in control. With patience, you will be able to focus and target what’s in your goal without pressuring yourself to trade even if the market is still in a bad shape. And if you have the right patience as a successful trader, surely you will also be potential long term investor as well.
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What should I do if the cloudbet casino withdrawal is delayed for more than 56 h on: August 12, 2023, 10:16:27 AM
You should maintain constant communication with the casino. If I'm not mistaken, the normal processing period for most casinos is a maximum of 24 hours. Therefore, if the processing period exceeds that time frame, it's considered abnormal. If you haven't received a message from them explaining the reason for the prolonged withdrawal delay, then you have the right to raise a scam accusation against the site.

There's a similar topic here discussing the same casino, where withdrawals took up to 1 week to be resolved.

(RESOLVED) Cloudbet verification stuck for more than 1 week
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 12, 2023, 09:47:04 AM
I expected this since he didnt participate in any warm up games yet, also there were no real new of why he is not with the team.
That's a blow for the tournament, now the biggest name in the world cup is Luka, since the Joker and Giannis are out.
How funny this is, the 3 biggest names are all Europeans.  Grin

I'm not up to date. Has there been any news about Jokic being out of the World Cup? The latest news I followed was about Giannis being out for Greece. What about Luka? Is he also out?

Teams that lose their best NBA players are expected to face challenges. Take Team Philippines as an example; they only have one NBA player, Jordan Clarkson. If he's unable to play for any reason, Philippines wouldn't have a chance to win or even be competitive.
1009  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Imagine life if there was know bitcointalk like this forum on: August 11, 2023, 09:59:17 PM
Without bitcointalk, people will still be able to learn bitcoin through the different online articles but the problem is, we cannot guarantee if those are legit sources and might only be feeding wrong information to the learners. Good thing that bitcointalk is here. All the information have been filtered, and dispose all those unnecessary details that will only confuse the minds of the readers. Moreover, bitcointalk forum promotes healthy discussion to every members, and that there’s no wrong or right as every opinion is widely accepted, so it’s a great feeling to be part of this prestigious forum.
1010  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the market still profitable for new projects? on: August 11, 2023, 09:29:50 PM
Given the crowding of the market with hundreds of new projects and the emergence of new services or companies every day, I think that the number of investors or users of these services does not correspond to this large increase.

So my question is: is this market still profitable for new projects?
I don’t think it’s on the market that matters, but on the new projects that keep rising in the market. If these new projects have potentials to grow and succeed, then it will contribute to the market’s profitability. But if these new projects were formed from the image of meme coins, perhaps there will be a market breakdown, hence defeating the purpose of the market to stay in profits. However, what I’ve seen now is the market never run out of profits, and for me growth is always there.
1011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: August 11, 2023, 03:45:18 PM
`

Well yes this is very true, I also think like that and indeed I am also a gambler who likes to do this. Getting a win in gambling and then using it again to gamble there, and about the results it can not be sure but still defeat will always accompany us. To be honest, I also feel it and when we play with money from gambling winnings, we will feel calm like you said because maybe we realize that it is money from gambling winnings so we will not worry too much if we lose there. That's right, most of the average gamblers will only show their winnings to their colleagues. I don't really know what the reason is but certainly maybe they are ashamed of the many defeats they have experienced and they are not as lucky as others.
Your mentality is a slippery slope if you consider gambling earnings to be "house money" and care less about losses. This can normalize losses over time and may tempt you to risk more than just your earnings. Every gambler loses; its just the nature of the game. However, just highlighting successes serves as a cover, a means of numbing the hurt of ongoing failures. Gambling isnt about demonstrating good fortune or showing off gains. Its a warning sign if you're embarrassed or hiding losses. Reconsider your decision after taking a step back, and always play responsibly. It should be enjoyable rather than a stressor or a gauge of one's value.
You must always be honest with yourself, as we don't possess an infinite amount of money. Limitations are crucial, which is why the saying 'gamble only what you can afford' exists. If you've been consistently gambling and experiencing consistent losses, then gambling might not be suitable for you, especially not as a potential source of income. However, you can still find enjoyment in it if you learn from your mistakes and maintain responsibility over the long term.
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency. on: August 11, 2023, 03:19:56 PM
I don't think there is anything wrong with that thought. If casinos are doing the KYC then they are abiding by their jurisdiction. Secondly, if they are doing the KYC then they are also making client-user contracts and it becomes one sort of evidence that we are registered on that casino, we have our cashier account too. As we move with time and make transactions they are getting recorded against our KYC so it's solid proof. Now, you never know when this proof will become an important thing in your life if somehow they do a scam of some type. This could be a lifesaver. I have seen peeps fighting for their life when some casinos ask for the KYC because if they have surpassed certain limits of transaction/winnings.

If that is the case then I hardly think the anonymous nature in a casino matters. I can understand when it comes to the physical one, but when it's an online casino, you have to be very cautious.

I prefer that casino do not ask for our KYC but usually this cannot be implemented in a real world because the casinos have to abide by the rules and regulations of the governing authorities and if they do not enforce KYC, these agencies will not allow them to run these casinos. We have to live with this.

However, Anonymity is a really good thing but unfortunately at present times when we have centralized gambling platforms, this seems impossible to remain anonymous.

The issue here is not whether a gambling site is centralized or not, as it cannot be argued that centralized casinos have been dominating the industry. The difference lies in the type of currency. For us crypto enthusiasts, we prefer gambling using crypto.

Speaking about centralized casinos automatically implies regulation; hence, KYC is required as a basic requirement. However, there are still gambling sites that do not implement it for all of their clients. This is something we can take advantage of if we are looking to gamble anonymously.
1013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can Bitcoin provide food for our table on: August 10, 2023, 09:55:35 PM
If your bitcoin investment paid off, then you’re good to provide foods on the table. But if you fail on your investment and lose all your capital, then providing foods on the table will never be possible. So just do the math.

However, even if you’re not engaged in investing or trading, the fact that you are working on a crypto company, then once you received good compensation in bitcoin, then you can actually feed your family from your hard-earned profits.
1014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency. on: August 10, 2023, 02:31:05 PM
Most of these casino just do all these because of the government rules that are tied to them operating their business. These casino are now implementing all these to avoid be sanctioned of money laundering law because most of the users deem their site to be a perfect spot for huge deposit and withdrawal which can cause lots of attention so that's why KYC is been called upon

In the past, the casinos were blamed by the government for harboring money laundering. A lot of them were either closed by the government or went offline, which caused issues for the users who had their deposits in these casinos. That is the reason why KYC is now being made mandatory in almost all online casinos. A few exceptions are there but sooner or later they will also implement KYC. With KYC you no longer are anonymous but as a user, you still have the anonymity factor with other users.
Until now, Money launderer still using online casino to launder their dirty money. This criminal is very pesky because they mix their money like a normal gambler which menas there will be no reason for casino to suspect them as launderers that will make this KYC purpose useless since it cannot catch launderers but only it will just use to delay or freeze someone money when they win huge prize in the casino.

I totally disagree on the use of KYC to counter money launderer since it’s useless in crypto because everything is decentralized and it’s very hard to spot user that laundering money and differentiates it to the normal player.

You might have misunderstood the implementation of the anti-money laundering council's regulations. While casinos might not have direct knowledge of the sources of their customers' funds, they are regulated entities and are obligated to comply with orders from the AMLC. If customers are suspected or proven to be involved in money laundering, the government agency can instruct the casino to close their accounts and confiscate the funds. Casinos don't take actions without a valid basis. That's the concise explanation.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 09, 2023, 03:04:41 PM
Ahmm, yes. That's exactly what I said. Because the odds are so high I will bet on Canada.  Grin
I never said I believe they will win, I just think they are a top 2 team. Besides USA there is no roster with that much quality. And for a top 2 team, 15:1 or whatever these odds mean, is a great deal.

If they perform well maybe I can also cash out with a profit once the tournament progresses.
It's gonna be a tight race but I see them to have an advantage over almost every team ranked higher than them. This is a "win now" situation and they want to make the best of their chances.

Don't underestimate Canada or other teams aside from USA. When we examine the history of the FIBA World Cup championships, the USA has only won 2 out of the last 6 FIBA World Cups. Therefore, it's not guaranteed that they will win this year's championship.

As we can see in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIBA_Basketball_World_Cup

1998-R Yugoslavia
2002-R Yugoslavia
2006-Spain
2010- USA
2014-USA
2019-SPAIN

Eric Gordon was allowed and given permission by FIBA to represent the Bahamas. He played with team USA before and even got the world championship. This may not that be much for some teams are he's likely pass his prime but he could be a good boost to the team.
News: Eric Gordon cleared to play with Bahamas despite suiting up with Team USA
Suns Guard Eric Gordon Officially With Bahamas National Team

He is no longer needed on Team USA as they are acquiring young superstars. It's good that he can now assist the Bahamas in their campaign.

In the current ranking (https://www.fiba.basketball/rankingmen), the Bahamas is placed 56th. Even if he plays, it's unlikely that the Bahamas would win the FIBA World Cup or defeat Team USA.
1016  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tips that helpfull for beginners on: August 07, 2023, 07:36:41 PM
So many ways that would help newbies to become good trader as all the necessary learning that they needed are already available online or offline, what they need is to read and understand it.

The only thing that I would like to say is that they don't have to put in mind that trading is easy nor underestimate it but rather take this seriously. Because the more they will think that it was difficult, the more they think about doing it hard as well which led to them becoming careful of their actions. Because many traders had failed as they expect it was too easy, that is how influencers spread wrong information.
^Definitely right, there are indeed numerous resources available online and offline that can help newbies become proficient traders and in fact, the key lies not only in accessing this knowledge but also in dedicating time and effort to understand and absorb it thoroughly.
But you must be careful of those who are on social media because influencers and traders who spread misleading information about trading being a "get-rich-quick" scheme contribute to false expectations and disappointments.
We should not go to trading if we lack the knowledge to avoid suffering massive losses.
Unfortunately, beginner traders do not give too much time and effort studying and understanding what trading is all about. This is because they believe that experience will teach them along, and of course since they mostly trade because of their greed. That is why most of them end up repeating the same mistakes all over again, and losing every time they trade. Because let’s accept the reality that even if they know everything about tips and strategies in trading, but if they never understand what trading is all about in the first place, then they will never be successful and profitable traders in the end.
1017  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't Rush Whenever Posting: Cross Check and Edit before Hitting the post Button on: August 07, 2023, 03:06:09 PM
How would you know that he is not cross checking every time he post? Because of wrong grammar and spelling used? FYI, if the poster is actually non-English speaker and knows nothing about grammatization and spelling, no matter how often he’ll review his post, he will still make the same errors even after posting. That is the reason why we should never start posting unless if you’ve gained sufficient knowledge on the topic or thread, and if you’re aware enough on its correct term or words that you are going to use in your discussion. Otherwise, your performance will create negative impact on you as a forum member or poster.
1018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 07, 2023, 12:54:20 PM

What a great achievement for Mighty-mouse, having that opportunity to coach those stars that's really something to admire from him, after his successful basketball career, now he's making new achievement for being a part of the coaching staff and like what you said who knows maybe we can see two Pinoy coaches that competing in NBA, and the timing might be cool from east and west hahaha..

Too far from that, but hopefully we will see more from coach Jimmy, as he really pursuing his career in that industry, and hopefully he will take charge in coaching the National team.

He is serious with his goal; that's why he chose to be part of the coaching staff in the B League if I'm not mistaken. Now that his rank is elevated to be part of the coaching staff of the Sacramento Kings, he'll surely get a lot of new ideas and strategies that he can share to improve our brand of basketball.

The Philippines needs someone like him to handle the Gilas Pilipinas (If Available) as he is the most qualified coach, which I'm sure people will not criticize. Also, being a player, which he was a great PG, he can easily understand what the team really needs. His achievement is just in the early stages, but the promotion was really fast, so I'm optimistic that he'll have more achievements in the long run, and we are all hopeful for him to become a head coach one day.

Grats Jimmy!
Not sure if he's still planning to go back to the Philippines but I hope we can still get a chance to have him even as a guest coach since he already migrated to the US if I'm not mistaken. He's living a good life already with a lot of potential having that coaching experience with a great team in NBA, we should be more proud of him as he continue to make name for himself. He's getting closer now to becoming a head coach and I'm sure that's the goal for him.

That's probably correct, as coaching the Gilas means he has to stay with the Philippines, and that will not happen since he is committed to his team, where he is part of the coaching staff. Also, the amount of money he is making in the US might reach to million dollars, but here, 5 million pesos could even be high enough as a paycheck for a coach. So, it's understandable that we'd like to see Jimmy, but that seems impossible to happen already.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 07, 2023, 11:58:45 AM
But Jake says that his stamina is getting better as he has more fight. Obviously, his body is getting used to it. However, if he faces like a former boxer and not ex MMA, it could be a different story just like what happen to the Tommy Fury fight.

It is because he trains regularly. He isnt furry and fluffy kid in a gym anymore. In fact he is on a good level. He is not afraid to challenge more experienced guys. As to Tommy Fury, dont forget that Jake went full distance with him and managed to land few good punches. That is against a pro boxer. And lets not forget that Jake so far does not have a long amateur career like lots of professional boxers. If he had 30-50 amateur fights, like most professionals have, it would be a completely different fight against Tommy.

Jake also managed to knock down Fury, and the decision was close as it's a split decision. So, in order to see a more entertaining and unpredictable fight outcome, I think both need to have a rematch. Who knows, Jake would be able to win the rematch, and then I'm sure a trilogy will result in more excitement, which is beneficial for both since it will attract more money.

What's next for Jake Paul?

According to the article below, the names that came out are;

1020  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: August 06, 2023, 09:56:37 PM
I don't really have much to say as regards to this post. It is just an avenue to hear your thoughts on which is better to invest both time, energy and resources in, mostly for a season as this, where we are experiencing economic uncertainty and ill-timed government banking policies.

So, given that the resources are available or not and you are presented with the opportunity to start/grow or buy an existing business just like Elon Musk, which option is more preferential and benefitial to you?

I would also do the same like Elon Musk. Buying an established business company will be easier to grow because you will only follow what had made it prosper for a long time, without giving yourself a hard time thinking how your business will not left in vain. Unlike starting a business from a scratch, you should deal about its financial risks, you should stay on top of its high competition, and the most important thing is you should be aware of all the business processes and strategies because it will be a trial and error at first so you know which strategy will work and which is not.
