Saving bitcoin is worth it because you can make more profit in the future.  Because they have many hackers now in the online so you need to secure your accounts to them.  Because once hacker gets your account for sure you lose your bitcoin.  You need to save your bitcoin to the wallet have 2FA incase other people wants to open your account you will be aware or warn and you will stop them trying open your bitcoin wallet.  Don't clink shortern link that gives to you because maybe it gets only informatio about your account.

The op already invested his 12 bitcoin to skycoin,  for me it is good if they invest to the crypto coin because their money possible to earn a lot of profit once the skycoin increase,  But it's  better if his 12 bitcoin will  invest to the different altcoin like 6-12 altcoin brcause what if the coin he bought decrease or die his money also gone,  unless they bought a coin like different coin even of then decrease or die they hve other coin and the some capital their lose to other coin that they have and once the other coin increase they will back his capital.

Capital of 1.5 dollars only is small amount.  But you can try to buy a coin who price is very cheap and wait the price to increase and after that you can sell it to make profit. You said your target your $1.5 become $150 so they need the coin you bought to increase 100 times so you can get that amount.  I think you need to wait few months like 6 nonths before they will increase high.  Because  will increase a littel and it will decrease again and increase before they increase more the price. Maybe it's because of segwit why bitcoin transaction decreased. For sure most of us that happen and that's really happen the transaction fee is decreasing and I hope it will continue and go back again at 20k satoshi. Bitcoin increase the price very high and very trusted because they live for long years or became 1 decade after year more.  Ethereum also like that the price is very high. It depends to your own research what is better to invest between bitcoin or ethereum.  But I suggest if  you have enough money you can invest with this two coin to make more profit in the future. 

Ico is good way to invest your money will grow,  but if you invest to ICO better if you make a research about the ICO you want to invest because they have possibility those ICO are not become successful and become scam.
