no mod's have been on chat today that i have seen for many hours and we have a spammer
who is spamming his link every 30 minutes.. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=267295.0
not sure if it is scripted but the person has not responded to anyone once..

iGotSpots is luring people into that topic and i am not amused..
i am still waiting for that piece of crap wallet to sync and its not even half way (with nodes added)
so not only is he advertising his coin and his giveaway BUT he is also not even giving coins out !

i also have seen other complain about this on cryptsy chat too..

anyway i figured i should warn people so they don't waste their time like i am doing now..

This is true all morning here on cryptsy... spam every 30 mins, no response from the spammer, and ZERO Spots sent when posting on the thread.

Your Crap pools will be up one minute and down 59 minutes.  That's why I say it's a crap pool.  Like right now, it has no users on it because it was probably down 75% of the time.

I wouldn't trust my time to your crap pool and lack of any real coding skills.  You spend 90% of the time asking everyone how to fix errors on your pool.

What happenned to all those pools you had running before?  99% of them didn't work right.  A few of us tried using your crap pools before and have been a victim of wasted time.

sorry please repeat that again, i have 3 pools so far, run by myself, another p2pool as a co-operation with another pool op, Solid hashrate, finder bonus's not had a minute of real downtime so far and you're telling me theyre shit. How about you put your money where youre mouth is, get off your ass, set some pools up and try competing with me, then we can see who has the shit pools. troll....

You are funny haha... and talk out of your ass... been on HBN and GME pool since they started and have tons of coin... nowhere near the downtime you claim... troll harder i can see the vein in your forehead showing more.

I am sure this pool is having it's speed bumps... the post does say IN TESTING, but I assume you need everything in life to be perfect the moment it comes into existence, so Adonis, tell Helen you will brb while you zap the perfect pool up for the masses to use.

Get bent or STFU your choice.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] GAS Coin is dead and this is how r3wt scammed us and destroyed the coin on: July 29, 2013, 03:32:23 AM
I must have fallen back into elementary school today, wtf?

You're both retards and no one likes you?

Really?

IMO, Spots and Gas have valid points here, refute them...

I am starting to wonder if hydro and ahmed got a piece of the Gascoin premine...

That is a ridiculous accusation, and by and large your inaccurate opinion.

Spots may have a good idea, but both of these focused on a singular niche service, which is not a good thing for a coin, broad adoption is fostered by broad functionality... using a single coin to buy physical  assets of precious metals or use for a single product is a flawed business model... if it was not, don't you think Apple, Amazon, Newegg, eBay and Wal-Mart would already have an inhouse style coin you could only use at their stores? This is called  GiftCard... no need for a network of computers to hash for that.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MΣC] Megacoin.co.nz - Website Launched! on: July 28, 2013, 08:21:09 PM
There will be a lot of hard MEC blocks until the next adjustment... Multipool was pointing over 700MH/s at it but not anymore with the halving... when price jumps and difficulty adjusts... they will flood the hashrate again.

In case you are just joining, pushpoold is being taken down and stratum implemented.

The pool may be down for a short while.

Feel free to join us in IRC.freenode.net #crypto-expert

As promised, I'll show my hobo love, soon as I get home. 24 hours, 1 MH, 100% donation.

The stench of Hobo abounds!

As of 1 PM, 9 blocks found and just under 9 MH/s on the pool!
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New! HBN Pool - The HELP Hobonickle Launch Initiative... on: July 26, 2013, 04:43:49 PM
Hobonickles, for when you feel the need to help someone, without breaking the bank.

Stratum support coming, donations split with a portion going to the HBN dev, so donations are supporting the network, not just the pool.

First public HBN pool (that I have seen posted.)

Oh nice! How much portion do I get? Did you want my HBN addy?
ahmed and pr9me are managing that portion of this, donations are set at 100% to the pool, and after 24 hours they will send out the coin.

Excellent update MrTeal.

Just one thing, that I hope I did not miss somehwere else... when is the time frame for the remainder of the 50% BTC for those who participated in your chip buy. I have yet to see or hear when I am supposed to send the remainder of my half for the chips. Or is that just incorporated into the final payment you need to assemble and ship a working unit?
1015  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] BFL ASICs, + Board Design Underway. on: July 11, 2013, 11:06:07 AM
Chipgeek posted on the BFL forum 2 days ago that they should have a board design to share in 1-2 days.

I am hoping that means today sometime we might see an update on progress from both Chipgeek and MrTeal.

There was also a post from Josh about the sample chips... sadly, the person they had in charge of that has left BFL and apparently was not on top of sending out the sample chips. Josh stated he has remedied this so chips should be on their way to MrTeal and Chipgeek so they can move along with these boards.

MrTeal and Chipgeek, TY for putting this together... any updates on progress this week would be greatly appreciated.

Also, MrTeal... when do you anticipate needing the second half of the chip deposit and at what point will you be asking for the remainder of the cost for the board and assembly per option 3?

I am a bit surprised that you plan to cool 32amps/120V in a 4U case. Care to comment on that?

Magic ice dragons and squirrels with fans might as well be the answer here. Chances that I invest in this is about as slim as Bugs Bunny making it through Mordor.

But... Bugs has the advantage of being able to burrow from anywhere in the world to the North Pole... don't you think Mordor would be just another vacation spot in his random travels?
1017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Hacked and stolen on: May 19, 2013, 05:57:34 AM
I am not a regular poster, hence my post count, but I could not let this go by unnoticed in a thread about theft. There are a couple of misconceptions in this post that reveal that you have invented these security measures yourself. Please, do not take these practices as advice, and poster: please get informed before giving security advice with respect to bitcoin.

Clarification: your HOT, SIMMER DOWN, LUKEWARM wallets do not offer any different security. They are hot wallets. With respect to your 'cold' wallet: the difficulty in vanitygen is in no way related to the security of your private key. Only how difficult it is to get the first few characters equal to what you gave it. The security of a private key is the same. Also, you cannot really use this cold wallet offline, unless you know how to sign raw transactions. The idea of cold storage is that the private key never touches the internet. Not even temporarily touches a computer that is occasionally connected to the internet. But you still want to use it, right?

I recommend that you have a look into the bitcoin client Armory (https://bitcoinarmory.com/). It can give you easy to use cold storage that is truly  safe, and you can make paper backups of your wallets to put in your safety deposit box.

Come again? I am not sure how you think there is no added security in how I keep my wallets... of course the blockchain wallet is base level no added security... that's why it is my outbound wallet and is always empty when I am finished using it.

The second wallet does have an added step to security... in order for someone to use it they would have to sign into my VPS account and boot the instance,  or have my private key. Not saying it can't happen, but it is an added step between them and my coins.

How the third wallet is just as hot as the blockchain wallet idk... you can't even search for the wallet, and if you found it, you couldn't move it anywhere useful unless you have my admin password... access denied to anyone other than the local domain admin account. Folder security is not hard so... yeah...

I understand these are all measures OUTSIDE the actual BTC client, but that is exactly where people are getting themselves stolen from... an unsecured platform.

As far as the Cold Storage... I never implied a vanity addresses difficulty increases security... I know it doesn't, never said it did... just detailing how I got the address. The object is not to use this wallet EVER until the day I clean it out... so no, the privkey has never touched the network, and I can send all the coin I want to it without having to sign a single raw transaction... you lost me there... don't know where you were headed with that... since you don't need a privkey to see an addresses balance.

Now, for the "and poster: please get informed before giving security advice with respect to bitcoin" comment... you should really elaborate more when you try to pick apart someones posts... other than recommending a 3rd party service... not once did you provide any type of useful feedback on how I am doing things incorrectly or how to correct them. You basically flamed me, made two statements with no suggestions on why I am wrong nor how to remedy those supposed errors, incorrectly assumed I meant a 45 billion difficulty vanity address was more secure than any other and then advertised a website... not very helpful.

Thank you for exemplifying my signature quote. Cheesy

The coin I made for muddafudda was basically a "for fun" coin, you can see the specs for it on page 1. Hence the fast turnaround time.

Nice. Pmed you.

Hazard,

Just curious... have there been ANY good changes anyone approached you with for these new altcoins?

24 hour turn around seems like a copy of a current coin with values changed.

Not flaming you... I have a couple good ideas for a cryptocurrency and clients but have not delved into the sources yet.

PMing you with a couple questions.
