I don’t think that Manchester United is an underdog in this match, although I see that Barcelona are the favorites for the first game at the Camp Nou, but this does not mean that they can easily defeat Manchester United. In the second match, things could be even more difficult for Barcelona as Manchester United have a great winning streak at Old Trafford. It is strange to see a match of this level at the stage in the 1/16 finals. The match will be held at Camp Nou. Barcelona are always favorites in home matches. Players are very confident. This makes it easier for them to defeat their opponents. Also if we compare the performance of Barcelona and United then it can be said that Barcelona team will be slightly ahead. Because although United is in a stable state compared to before, United still has many weaknesses within the team. On the other hand, apart from the defense, I don't see any weakness of Barcelona now. All possibilities are still going to happen in this case but on the other hand we also have to be realistic in the pre-match this time especially since we have statistics and match history. Honestly, it doesn't matter, what good news comes for Juventus right now. They are obviously going to be very upset that a lot of points have been reduced from them like that. Obviously, the players are supposed to be upset the most. Because they had nothing to do with this. But they are certainly going to be punished for something that they did not do.
At least if you think about their situation positively, it is better than Calciopoli 2006 with which they were relegated to Serie B and saw a lot of star players left their club like Thuram, Canavaro and some others. At least in this season, they are still playing in Serie A and with 15 points less than a club in 2nd position AC Milan and 14 points less than clubs from 3rd to 5th positions, Lazio, Inter Milan and AS Roma, the season has yet ended for Juventus. In addition, they did not lose star players in winter transfer so onwards they will go with best players they have for rest of season. And I think we can see the definite impact of not having the right mindset for Juventus right now. I thought that they are going to be in a good state and consistent performance after the break. But this punishment has been such a setback for them that they are still unable to recover.
It is hard to stay positively, optimistic about what happened recently. However, chance has yet over for Juventus and they can keep fighting strong as same as how they fighted after Calciopoli 2006. If PSG is to win the Ligue 1 title, they will undoubtedly need to get back on track and pick up full points in all their upcoming matches. PSG's performance in the last few matches has been poor. They have lost two matches. And as a result, their points gap with Lens narrowed. And at the moment PSG team is only 3 points ahead of Lens. This gap is very narrow. And I think even if they lose any of the upcoming matches, it will be challenging for them to hold the top spot in the table.
PSG management spent a lot of money. There are many star players in their squad. Even so, their performance is shameful and disappointing. Galtier has been given ample opportunities by the PSG management. If he still can't stabilize the team then it's his failure.

The match between Real Madrid vs Athletico Madrid in the quarter finals is now over with Real Madrid being the victor with 3 goals to Athletico Madrids 1.
It was a pretty tense and interesting match. I would say the match was a bit difficult for Athletico Madrid as Real Madrid dominated the game mostly in the second half as it was in the second half that Real Madrid sort of came to life and scored the three goals to put them ahead to win the match and advance further up.
It must be the opposite thing. Real madrid faces a difficult situation. Atletico madrid was able to be equal with madrid. The bad result was happening after one of atletico's player got a red card. The red card has become the worst dream for atletico madrid. Atletico must leave from copa del rey caused by it was losing against real madrid. Im so glad to see that real madrid was making it after a hard game against atletico madrid as its rival. I hope atletico madrid can comeback stronger in another competition like la liga or europa league. @Iroh what I liked from this match was Vinicius Junior response as any other player would have been probably rattled to see his effigy hanging, but he kept his composure and helped his team win. The season is quite so unfriendly to Chelsea, even with all the signings, I still don't see significant changes. I think Chelsea is a bit too reluctant at looking into the deficiency in their midfield, Todd Boelly is just too focused on buying attackers. Before it was different flaws From different wings, now the attacking line has been revived yet the gameplay isn't still changing because new things are still needed in the midfield and defense just as it is in the attack. Not solving this before February can be a big risk in a champion league match
@Docnaster to be fair Chelsea’s injury crisis is a big reason why they failed to revive themselves, and all the player’s bought by them are future star’s hence they may not make much of an impact right away. Everton have taken just 15 points from a possible 60 points this season and that is just not good enough for a Premier League manager. I am surprised Lampard lasted that long, Everton have been very fair to him by allowing him time but with more than half the season already played they had no choice but to sack him. He was in the job less than one year.
@JollyGood to be honest I was puzzled as to why Everton were sticking with him, because he should have been sacked a while ago and I strongly feel that he needs to manage in a less competitive league and then come back to the premier league. Agreed, cricket lovers prioritize test format cricket in which it is possible to see the real game of the players. With most of cricket fans, the time is a big problem. For the same reason other format of cricket have taken the place. However with the involvement of few teams into test cricket it is possible to watch some good cricket. We don't know how long this continues, because today we were able to see three T20 league taking place simultaneously. BPL, BBL ans SA20.
LOL... completely wrong. Test viewership is declining for the past one or two decades and hardly anyone watches test cricket especially when team outside the pig-4 play. The only test series that are of interest to viewers are Border-Gavaskar (India vs Australia), Trans-Tasman (Australia vs New Zealand), Ashes (Australia vs England) and any potential India vs Pakistan series. Outside these, test cricket is pretty much dead. T20 (especially the franchise leagues) is what attracted viewers back to cricket. For every 1 fan who watch test cricket, there are 10 who watch T20. It is the preferred format for the younger generation. I absolutely agreed about this and want to add some more things in next few years we will have no charm for test format in many countries and just top four will be enjoyed this because they have good sponsors for this and their system is also allowed them to have luxury like these others will surely suffer or even can exit from this because this is not profitable for them in long run and now from here ICC needs to do some revolutionary changes which will help them for doubling their revenue even have big market for the cricket as well just work on few things which helps new countries, and they will be able to have better facilities and structure for this all. In test The Ashes, Trans-Tasman and BGT are enough for them to have good profit and viewership others needs to easily exit and enjoy this new shorter format for better life. @TheGreatPython there was a time when I used to love watching test matches and believe me those 5 day’s were really exciting but ever since T20 came I lost my love for test cricket, however I believe that ICC should organise more day and night test matches as people are yet keen to see those but besides that I feel there’s very little demand left for this format. ^^^ For test and limited overs cricket, there is not much overlap in the fan base. And this is the reason why I have always argued for having separate teams for both the formats. A lot of people argue that if the same team plays test cricket along with limited overs at the same time, then viewership will go down. I don't think that is the case. Test cricket is mostly watched by middle-aged and elderly people and they don't necessarily watch T20 or ODI formats. It may help the national boards to maximize their revenue. At least the pig-4 can do this, as they can create separate squads for T20 and test.

The latest news regarding Olympic inclusion of cricket is that the proposal from ICC is being reviewed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). If it gets approved, then cricket will be included as a 6-team competition for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. But there are other sports competing for the same spot, including baseball, squash, kickboxing and motorspot. I am not much excited about this, because the ICC has managed to destroy any benefit that may come out of Olympic inclusion by making it a 6-team event. As per reliable sources, the decision from IOC will be finalized by October 2023.
Cricket is already a sports dominated by few countries. Even if it somehow makes it, it'd be thing to see who these 6 teams would be and if it turns out to be squash match like the 1900s Olympics. @libert19 it’s a disgusting proposal, and I firmly believe that every fan who loves cricket will be hoping that it’s rejected. Furthermore guessing those 6 team’s is not difficult and as I have stated here that those 6 team’s probably will be 1) England 2) Australia 3) India 4) New Zealand 5) Pakistan and 6) South Africa and maybe Srilanka or Bangladesh can make a surprise entrance too, but the top 4 are definitely confirmed in my personal opinion to appear if the proposal by ICC is accepted. |
