Well, shit, I don't know what to think.

What about this? http://cryptominers.freeforums.org/the-memorandum-of-understanding-t10.html

There's more but here is just an except:

During the course of said agreement no cost will be incurred for OSTOED technical assistance, as the objective of this venture is to create an investment for the Oglala Sioux Tribe in the crypto currency market to assist with Economic Development on the Pine Ridge reservation.

I read this. This is what it looks like:

Step 1) Get in bed with the Economic Development team of a Tribe.
Step 2) Go above the heads of the Lakota People and the Counsil to various popular Media outlets promoting new official tribal sovereignty coin.
Step 3) With support of miners and media outlets, enforce people of Lakota to use Mazacoin.

Sounds like the FED.

Go behind people's back and make a "sovereign" coin. Only talk to the finance people of a tribe, not the people themselves about if they would embrace a coin like this.

Why is he spending so much time talking to the US MEDIA about tribal sovereignty coins? Why does he care that people in the United States know? Why wouldn't he work way more with the Lakota people themselves and see if they actually feel like using a new cryptocoin first?
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ██[MZC] MazaCoin - National Currency - now @ RussiaToday, Independent, Telegraph on: March 08, 2014, 09:56:26 PM
I tried getting answers from people in the IRC. @boxxed was there and he just told me any information that I want I can find in news articles in the future.

This is seriously deceiving, however, because the WSJ was already duped into publishing an article that had false information provided to them by Mazacoin's PR people. If the WSJ can be fed bad information what is stopping any other news company from being fed information by them? Why can't boxxed just answer question in the IRC like a normal dev? Why do I have to wait for my answers indirectly through news outlets?

The cat is out of the bag in my opinion that Mazacoin has overstepped their bounds to get their coin hype and notoriety. It's not being done with honor and I'd be ashamed if I was the Lakota people being falsely represented like this by someone. You give white lies to the WSJ and Forbes and suddenly nothing you say can be trusted anymore. Credibility out the window.

And this is coming from someone who spent an hour talking with AnonymousPirate in that pastebin chat. I devoted my time to hearing about Mazacoin and then they deceive the public in major news media outlets.

You would think they would JUMP out of their seats to ease any concerns about the credibility issues that have come to light. They haven't bothered to ease these concerns at all. There really isn't an excuse. If it's not what we think it is it should BE EASILY EXPLAINABLE. We are getting fucking worked at a level beyond the "whales".

I took the time to find the guy on Twitter who wrote the indianz.com article. Here is what he replied back:

https://twitter.com/BEcoffeyNSwkly/status/442316016803004416

Which if anyone read any of the articles, Payu never claimed to be a member of the tribe and said he was Northern Cheyenne.

I moreso just wanted to see if the people behind the website and article were real. Yes, they are. It wasn't just some scam website. It came from nowhere and I heard no response from @Mazacoin at all (despite him having the balls to tweet about how everyone can BUY Mazacoins!). So the fact that the guy on the Twitter is real and not just some alias spreading FUD is satisfying.

1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann]Vote New coins on Bter.com - Which new coin should Bter add in next week? on: March 08, 2014, 07:22:33 PM
Dear Bter,
you really should be alert is Coinye, this shitcoin has a endless lawsuit. They want to be another doge, but they never be. We already have dogecoin, we don't need another one, right?
Coin2 has the real innovation in distribution, It has a lot of supporters and it green. No waste energy anymore. The transaction fees will guarantee the network secure.
So, Please add coin2

Those laws don't apply in China. No worries.
Are you kidding me?  The DEV people is at USA. If Coinye lost the lawsuit, the will be no DEV anymore. Who will maintenance the code?
Check this news
Coinye developers say they're abandoning project as Kanye West escalates legal battle
and Coinye is dead, long live Coinye: Kanye West lawsuit prompts disarray

Bullshit, there is no dev team! And this is the biggest advantage of this coin. We all are the devs of this coin. Everyone is equal, no forks, no fuckups like in doge's case. Kanye would have to sue every single user of coinye, and look how big and strong (especially in China) our community is. This coin is making a statement that noone, no government,no lawyer, can destroy cryptocurrency.
Are you an idiot? NO DEV team==A dead coin.
I check all of you post. Your post just prove you are not a DEV. All you care about is the price of your shitcoin. It's means you are a liar here.

Of course I'm not. I'm just interested how the things are gonna work out for this coin because it ultimately proves if cryptocurrency can be taken out by government or legal threats. I just can't sit without saying anything when someone writes such a pile of crap like you did, just to push your 97.5% premined coin into the exchange.
If coinye can be taken out, cryptsy can take out bitcoin or any other coin if they receive a simple letter from lawyers or any other legal threat. All of your money will end up frozen.

No dev team == no worries that someone will fuck up the coin (like they fucked up DOGE, they even made you to download another wallet). The most important aspect of all cryptocurrencies is their DECENTRALIZED nature. If you don't get it, then go and buy some $, Euro or whatever you want, cause cryptocurrencies are clearly not made for you.

THIS.

Coinye exists to prove that lawyers and big money celebrities cannot take out a coin. Just how bitcoin is out to prove governments cannot stop it.

It serves a purpose. Coinye has a web of people working on it so there is no 1 single point of failure and no single point of attack by lawyers.

Coinye will live forever, my friend.

Sold at 5700 since I knew this was trending downward. Standard protocol with new coins on cryptsy. Might pick some up again if it dips down to 1000.

I'm starting to wonder how trustworthy some unseen guy named "AnonymousPirate" is. Where did this guy Payu Harris come from all of a sudden? The toughest part about maza is that it could equally be a huge pump and dump scam or it could be a real effort to legitimize cryptocurrencies. It's very difficult to tell at this point.

I keep seeing lots of retweets about Maza, including some from the infamous Max Keiser. It's hard to imagine such a vocal figure as Payu doing all this networking about mazacoin just to shill it.

I have never been so on the fence about a coin before. At this point in this game it's hard to tell which coins are legit and which are just blatant pump and dumps. Ultimately I find it hard to believe that a three-person team would commit to all this effort just for their new currency to get listed on mintpal, hit its peak, then peak again on cryptsy and die immediately afterward.

I know we've had 140 pages of discussion, which is phenomenal considering the age of this coin, but I want to know all of your thoughts right now. Is MazaCoin a legitimate effort or is it just an elaborate pump and dump scheme? Only time will tell.

AnonymousPirate certainly had grandiose ideas when I talked to him. Whether or not he was talking about of his ass remains to be seen. He unloaded a ton of information on me in that chat. There are things that throw up red flags for me, but there other things that don't. I don't know what to think anymore, really. I'm just as much on the fence as you are. Not a good place to be.

So you were in the guy in this chat? neuroMode?

I agree the bold claims are all over the place and the one about Payu becoming the Lakota Nation president takes the cake. It does raise some red flags unfortunately.

Yes, that was me in the chat. I'm not sure what to think about all those bold claims. In the moment you just have to say "wow!" but ever since this latest controversy about the Lakota people being out of the blue about all of this, @Mazacoin "suddenly" disappeared and stopped tweeting and replying to people confronting him about the article.

It's on #mazacoin on Freenode IRC, but that conversation happened almost 24 hours ago.

I have one question that I'm confused about because things weren't fully labeled in the main post:

Are the parts I've put in bold below the BLOCK REWARDS? I underlined the block reward for the first 43200 blocks, but do the values in body below it represent the deflationary block rewards?

BLOCK REWARDS
43200 blocks (150 days): 50% payout (p$61,037,314) or block reward of 1412.90078704

one last thing before I call it a night, just saw this on twatter

Oglala Sioux is not Oglala Lakota. Different entities. #mazacoin Get it?

Is this true? It's a shame, all it takes is one balogne article to spread panic.

Put 2+2 together people, if the creator was out to con everyone why didn't he cash out the 50 million premine when it was hitting its highs other day?

EXCELLENT.

And for people who kept talking about how complicated it will be, you should READ my long convo with @AnonymousPirate about his plans HERE: http://pastebin.com/wvvNS7ra.

1) They will be working with multiple mints to create hard Mazacoins in 10, 50, 100 MZC, etc.
2) They will be giving classes about mining for FREE to the Lakota people.
3) They will be giving free ASIC miners to the Lakota people that complete the course under Payu's guidance.
4) They will be trying to install WIFI in all public places.
5) They will be looking to solve the smartphone issues.

I know these are all "WILL BEs", but I think Payu and AnonymousPirate have not been scared of revealing any of their plans or staying out of the limelight. They've been true on their word about the other details that have rolled out about the coin. Payu has no problem being an activist in public, either. I'd say the dude is pretty damn determined.

You build a coin first that holds great promise then you build the infrastructure around it. Just like how Bitcoin existed then the poor countries like Cyprus and now Argentine begin to figure out how to build infrastructure AROUND it. This is the EXACT SAME principle that Mazacoin will be working off but with the UNPRECEDENTED legal immunity to go ahead and do whatever it wishes unlike Bitcoin's political thrashing by backwards governments.

H-U-G-E

Also, someone earlier said the Free Lakota bank is full of scandal and intrigue....I googled that and only found one conspiracy theory website.....so I think we are safe lol

*dons tin foil hat*  Roll Eyes

I googled the same thing and came to the same conclusion. I mean, I don't trust many websites/media websites nowadays, but still....there was minimal/negligible bad stuff on Lakoto, and it was only a couple very weird websites.
