Google works great.... try it ... here's the manual: https://bitmaintech.com/files/download/Antminer%20S3%20Manual_EN_2014.7.16.pdf
Several posts on the forums about this just search.
It's related to overheating above 80C or it's just loosing connection to the pool.  If it's overclocked bring it down to stock speed.  What's your ambient temp where you have it located?

And if it is hitting this 80c point you REALLY need to try to cool it down.  This is the point it will hurt your miner.

That is far to hot to run on long periods of time.  If you are not having heat issues, I would look at PSU is it a cheap psu?

I more concern about his PSU.
@beginnerMiner, i wonder what is your psu brand & type?

Thats why I mentioned psu Smiley Summer is starting to get hot in some places both are valid ideas.   I think between PSU or heat we will find the issue.
10002  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Starting bitcoin mining on: May 08, 2015, 05:14:07 AM
What state or country are you mining from? (gives us a idea of weather).

Also what is your electricity price? (determines new or used gear)
10003  Other / Meta / One transaction block? on: May 08, 2015, 05:11:39 AM
There is not much reason for lists like this.  It is a old way to deal with signatures.

If you really cannot handle signatures look here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1003570.0  They can disappear... poof.   But these signatures do in  some cases go twords good  things.  I know mine go twords hardware which I enjoy reviewing.

Or fans... which for summer mining I have spent over 300 dollars or so.  And still am working on it.

This is more extortion than pishing, don't?
Any way it is easily avoidable by ignoring the messages or changing email

Possibly I agree it's not pishing as it does not hit it.  What I wonder is where the email list came from.  I was not on it.

What do all of you that got it have in common?
10005  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: May 08, 2015, 04:36:58 AM
marco, you me not to return to the list?

You will have to PM him.  It is currently between campaigns.

One thing I'm sure if he does take you cant keep the "★Bitin.io★ - Instant Exchange" next to name.   But PM him not sure if you meet his criteria or not.
10006  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: May 08, 2015, 03:07:59 AM
More & more faucets  Grin

no best way to get btc from faucets.
because faucets very low. the best way to earn bitcoins is trading or signature campaign.
But i dont have a bitcoin to start tranding ?? so..

Well you can get them from signature campaigns or make a little investment buy buying them in the first place. Trading is risky though and more often than not most end up losing coins. I'd just buy and hold or earn them from signature campaigns but you must remember to make quality posts or you risk having your account banned.
If you dont have any bitcoin right now you can earn from faucets even if it is small if you type the capthca every hour i think you can have a little bitcoin but if you continue that you can earn a big bitcoin.

There is not a faucet that I personally consider will lead you to "big bitcoin".  Can you say how much you refer to when you say "big bitcoin"?
I didn't say that you can earn a big bitcoin i said is to have a capital so that you can invest. I said you can earn a big bitcoin when you are already invested. I think 1 BTC.

I bolded what you said.  Look at it again, you say it leads to "a little bitcoin" and if you continue that "you earn a big bitcoin".    It sure sounds like you mean continued faucet use if you read it.

In that comment I bolded no mention of investing, only mentioning faucet.
Its common that you will invest your money and i said that you can earn a big bitcoin in faucets? thats true if you continue using it and if you still using it after 1 year. For sure you can earn 1 btc.

You are talking a MASSIVE amount of time to get 1 btc from faucets.  I don't think possible unless you spend a ton of time doing it daily.

You would be better off with a regular job, then working hours every day on faucets in a possibility you might get 1 BTC.
10007  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why is Discus Fish so popular? on: May 08, 2015, 03:05:43 AM
So what's stopping someone from renting at Nicehash now at 0.0096 and pointing a bunch of hash to Discus Fish to get paid out at 0.01013357?  Granted the difference is pretty small, but it is profit nonetheless right?

Some do it.  Personally nice hash right now -8 percent and then 4 percent go to F2Pool.   So you would have a margin of 4 percent if it works perfect.

I would guess you would lose a little hash rate that it won't be perfect.   But if less then 4 percent you could turn a profit right now

actually I tried it there were quite a bit of risk associated with it so it's not as straight forward as the calculation.
1. This is the main reason you can barely make a profit: Nicehash charges 3% fee from your order. So there you go: 8-4-3=1% theoretical gain.
2. No pool is 100% efficient. I can almost guarantee you some of you work will be rejected by F2Pool. So you see how thin that margin is. if the rejection is >= 1%, you will lose.
3. at 0.0096 your rate is not guaranteed so if there are higher bids your order may not get executed.

Used to work when nicehash charged 2%  and did not set a floor.  In order for it to work .0092 to 0.0101  was good.

I just complained here about nicehash setting a floor.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=893133.msg11301543#msg11301543

Nicehash modified the floor after my complaint  but the newer floor and the price fee jump from 2 to 3 percent  makes it very hard to work.

Is it possible to set it so that it mines on nicehash when the payout is a certain amount and switches to different pool when it becomes less profitable?

I answered  it from opposite side Smiley

Read tbonetony, he is right as miner the p= is what you set in password to pick what price you will mine for.
10008  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: May 08, 2015, 03:04:08 AM
OK, I need someone smarter than myself please.

Trying to enable WiFi on my S3+, and ready to give up. I must be over thinking this, as I just should not be this hard.

I have the antennae installed and finally have the WiFi working with an IP address after many attempts and scouring the threads here.

I have wired on 192.168.1.120 and WiFi on 192.168.1.220. Both via a DHCP reservation from my router. I can ping both IP's and get a response. When I unplug the ethernet cable I am no longer able to ping either IP address, even after waiting a few minutes (not timed, just my perception). I have also tried to restart the Antminer, and that still is a no go.

I have read it takes a while to connect via WiFi, so am I just not waiting long enough? I figured once I got an IP address on the WiFi interface I was set.

I really would like to get WiFi working so I can move these guys out of the basement into an area of the house that is cooled by the AC.

Thanks!

With wifi they don't have a antenna so it will have to be VERY close to router.  But you mention antenna is installed.  Are you sure it's working properly on antenna?

Have you tried close to router to see if it will connect?

this would be the obvious choice.. why instigate trouble for oneself? like i said- tho thinking and reading and stuff may not be my strongest quality- i dont pay for electricity but maybe i am i dont realize except that i receive no electric bill so hummfph this is tricky one indeed...
nonetheless, why should i go ahead and instigate a discussion on power costs? is there some kind of twisted virtue hidden in this, like giving away money before its been asked for? perhaps in some kind of charitable sense, though considering our relative fortunes, i would think the reverse should be more likely..

edit: wow this conversation devolved.. i apologize if i am coming off as aggressive, but i dont really see why so many people are trying to insinuate themselves into my electric situation. i agree the neighbor thing is in a moral gray area, but moving forward i plan to resolve this anyway

It's not moral grey... if you are plugging into neighbors electricity without asking it is a crime.

You can justify it all you want.  But fact is you are committing a crime.

omg dude plz take ur "facts" and stick them far up into place where someone cares.. you are not aware of my living situation except as far as i have revealed here.. your extreme language is not welcome here.. call the police and tell them all about my "crimes" i am sure they will do what they always do.. ie nothing. i had police in my apartment just last week- for another reason i had to call them- it was clear what it was doing with an obvious extension cord leading out my unit yet for some reason they did not even bring it up.. curious no? now notlist3d ur probably too 1337 to reason with a newb like me so i'm just going to end this stupid conversation

I'm aware your using your neighbor's electricity without permission.  Just ask him... you said you were going to.

It has nothing to do with living situation.  I don't believe my language is extreme.  I have only tried to explain what your doing is not a moral grey, it's a crime.  A harmless crime?  Yes... most likely no one will be harmed with it.   I don't think a extension cord will cause the end of the world, but I am able to see it's a crime.

I find it funny you justify it.  I'm not 1337 or above anyone.  I just suggest talking to your neighbor saying "Hey I'm going to use your plug in here let me know if any issues happen"  Just that much.

what a heckler u are.. u must be getting off on this moral high ground.. enjoying the view from up there?
i said this conversation was over-meaning i wasnt gonna respond to u anymore, but i can see this taking some interesting turns before swerving off and incinerating in some forgotten mental wasteland. yes yes i am committing a crime.. hello NSA can you hear me! plz plz do something! i am sure this dude will bust a nut or whatever pleasure he finds in this useless debate.. oh wait a second i guess that makes <gasp> a criminal! zomfg what to do. what to do? maybe first i'll go confess to my neighbor and give him my bitcoin miners.. then i will go to the police station.. i know! i will even bring handcuffs and take care of the criminal myself.. maybe they will both give me a medal and put me in jail simultaneously? wouldnt that be a moral victory for those dreggers of society-ie me!
wow this could really be a breakthrough day.. thank you! maybe this is will be the step to end crime once and for all!

Heckler is what you are.  Long winded and think you have a message.

I'm not saying there is a victim getting hurt in your crime just that it is a crime.  You make long paragraphs to sound like its complicated.  It's not complicated you are committing a crime.

No to what?  You don't point to which part you don't agree with.

I would be careful of posting one sentence posts.  Mods normally don't like it....

yes mom /jk lol

i guess you need to look up about a quarter of an inch from my reply to see the OP's question.

I was just not sure which one you didn't agree.   I will say... I'm sure your not my son Smiley.  And double sure I cannot be a mom.

But in future please quote what you don't agree it makes it much easier.  I was up like 5 from your post, so I just wanted to make sure you did not mean me.

Translation. No actual miner. Vapourware of course it is vapourware.

Now we can only hope few real people bit on this bullshit and will lose their money.

Its crazy anyone would pay Uranus 6TH/s - $3299 USD.  Now we know it's not going to be their chip, not a big surprise.

But no one has released anything close to the specs they promise.   So will they wait  6 months if that's what it takes to get a chip with those specs? (And i'm guessing timeline no one knows this).

From those that ordered what made you feel safe ordering this product?
10016  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: EARN BITCOIN NEWBIE GUIDE on: May 07, 2015, 11:35:33 PM
I don't think there is such a thing as faucets and serious earning.  I hope you can prove me wrong with some math or proof.  I would love to be wrong.

But time spent on faucet compared to money earned never has been very good in my opinion.

I agree with last line. It's true. You could earn more if you do captcha solving but not on faucets.

I don't think working at a captcha service is that good either.  Faucets just do not pay out much unless you are one of the very few with many many referrals.

or do this Cheesy

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1053742

better then faucets and captcha

That is worth around 5 cent's if math is right. (I did it off head I could be wrong).  5 cent's is not enough to make me sign up for anything.
10017  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining - Please help a newbie on: May 07, 2015, 11:32:33 PM
There is really no good proof.  They love to use that website that really is not well known, and I don't know what makes anyone think they are a legit comparison site. cloudmining.website goes in spurts and shows the heck out of that graph that they got OVER 100 percent.  How can you get over 100 percent legit? Good question.

Good question !!! Roll Eyes Are you serious ? Do u really think that 100+% indicates legitimacy index ? I mean who am I talking to ? Even a child will understand what it means...

The picture clearly shows that CM monitor bought 10 Ghs from www.CloudMining.website and made 100.16% of their investment in 114 days.

It is crazy.  A site judges cloud mining, that has no real credentials to do so.  And they give the site over 100 percent legit.  How can they be a ponzi if over 100 percent legit?

Geee wonder if someone was paid off, or free cloud mining..... it's crazy!  Next time you pay some one off... make sure you don't pay for past 100 percent Smiley. (I cannot prove there is a payment I just am assuming.)

Can you please tell me where exactly you got this point over 100 percent legit ? CM Monitor nly indicated that they were paid back more than 100% of their investment, i.e. 100+% ROI. But, why r u trying to confuse people with the statement over 100 percent legit ?

I will admit I read it wrong.  I thought it was basing it on being legit.    It does say ROI.   I still would never invest here.  Two people are awful mad about this mistake.  I still would avoid this site personally.  Read the comments about the site.... it's not all so great in comments.   Star's do not reflect comment's about the site.  And any site that does not show fee's has something wrong.  Please show me on cloud mining site where it shows fee rates.  Can you find it? I cannot.

Reading it more and with understanding they spent .01 btc.  This is not a significant amount.   To base it all on .01 seems pretty small.  They do not show payment for it.  For all we know they got the hash for free.

And no one has yet be been able to backup I am pushing people to Bit-x  - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=852857.msg11298153#msg11298153     I still ask to find one statement of this.  At least mine was a mistake, that about me is a lie.

That is not much of a scam.  Biggest thing is figure out how you made it on the list.  Somehow they got your email.

And they are not hiding what they are doing... .so don't know if it really falls under Phishing.

Hopefully we'll find out what's inside these things Q1 2015.  I mean before the end of April.  I mean 6-7 weeks from April 6th.  I mean Soon™ after it ships the first week of "Maybe".  I mean 'in the nearest time' after they sort out licensing issues for a chip.  For an order placed March 23rd.

They cannot get licenses as the chip I doubt exists yet.  They will string along buyers until a chip meats the specs they said if your lucky.

I still do not understand why anyone ordered from this company.
