10001  Economy / Reputation / Re: Cryptotalk 1 BTC Contest Manipulation on: October 29, 2019, 08:12:42 AM
Are they paying anyone?   Have they proved they even have the coin to pay?

I've spent a bit of time there and I do post there now and then.
The amount of spam, of worthless or repeating posts, of discussions just for the sake of it is overwhelming. But this happens when the numbers are the only thing that matter.

But they do pay. I did withdraw already. And I'm not telling about withdrawal from cryptotalk to yobit, I'm telling about the next step too: withdrawal from yobit into an external wallet.
So I can confirm that part.

About OP topic, I wonder who was thinking that such a contest can be 100% real and clean. But maybe I'm just too pessimistic  Cheesy
10002  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin cross $50,000 by Dec 2020? on: October 29, 2019, 08:06:01 AM
Everything is possible. But we do want that? Really? Because that means another FOMO bubble which, sooner or later will end badly for many.
Although the chances for a new bubble start are quite big imho, I'd still prefer to see it come a bit later and meanwhile let Bitcoin have some period of slow and steady growth.
10003  Other / Meta / Re: Why are my posts being deleted? on: October 29, 2019, 07:38:32 AM
Just for the record, when I've seen my posts deleted I checked for the reason and I noticed the mistake (that we were necro bumping). Sorry for that.
Since TECSHARE posted again there, I PM-ed him telling it's an old thread and he should delete his post. (I've done the same in the past with Legendary members instead of reporting, they usually understand and delete.)
10004  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Download and Upload big file to blockchain program on: October 29, 2019, 07:16:32 AM
now i create my own cryptocurrency(file hosting) and i need disable or reset too-long-mempool-chain protection in source and make it more faster... where i can find this parameters? and why this parameter set in bitcoin?

Keep in mind that you'll need to think on some good incentive for the full nodes, else nobody would store extremely big blockchain.
You may also think on some sort of sharding for your blockchain to keep the sizes at a reasonable level, just then you have to fine tune it to avoid data loss when nodes leave the network.

Maybe you discuss with the guys from DxBox project, they also store files in the blockchain https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5189356
10005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wrong wallet address recovered with backup mnemonic on: October 29, 2019, 06:50:54 AM
Reading the doc page may help. I assume that OP addresses were starting with 1* and now they're bc1* and then Legacy wallet has to be chosen.

OP, please move the other topic, written in Chinese letters, from the English area to the Chinese boards.
10006  Other / Meta / Re: Is Cøbra still Co-owner of http://bitcoin.org and http://bitcointalk.org ? on: October 28, 2019, 02:13:12 PM
How do you guys find these links so damn fast?

Think on a couple relevant keywords and google search. In this case, a search for cobra owns bitcointalk site:bitcointalk.org, in the first result - thread the 5th post already has this quote in it.
I don't know if @bL4nkcode did exactly this, but at least this is the path I'd go on.
10007  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie Trading Question? on: October 28, 2019, 01:55:33 PM
Guys, I know I'm stupid because I'm asking myself, in both instances, why I didn't sell high and wait for Bitcoin to come down and buy again?

Because nothing is certain. Because you don't have the confidence for it.
You should have had money at the exchanges when that happened. Would you have been waiting until the right moment or would you have been selling too early or too late?
Why did't you sell yesterday to buy back today, so after the heat lowered? Do you have a certainty (or something close to that) on how low Bitcoin will go until it'll rise again?

I did some tiny-amounts trading in the past. I've got the things right 2 times, 5 times, 10 times, then I've got them wrong and wasted most of the earnings from 20-30 of times getting it right.
I learned an interesting thing: trading is not for me.

Maybe this answers to some of your questions.
Of course, you can get some small amount and see how it goes. You'll need many trades to get the confidence you can do the things right in most of the cases (don't fool yourself, you'll make mistakes too).
10008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Has Something to Do with Bitcoin's Price Increase After All on: October 28, 2019, 12:53:02 PM
Seriously now, 1.3 billion possible customers in the so-called biggest economy and all they can do is 2k?
NOT even mentioning the fact that most of the buys that triggered the bull run happened at around 1-2 am China time on a Saturday....which makes so much sense!!

I wrote in the same post: people buy by rumors.
They may expect further moves (which may or may not happen) which could affect the price. It has happened in 2017 too, isn't it?
It was, after all, much bigger than the "usual" week-end "strange" behaviors for the market.
Of course, I may be wrong too. If I'd know for good all these things I'd be rich by now.

China is so powerful! God created the world, yes. But the rest are made in china.
My pencil, slippers, mouse, keyboards, laptop, cellphone, cap, pen, head set, earphones, toothpick, glass, shirt, and almost everything that I see inside my tiny house are made in china.

If everything is made in China...can you somehow explain this

I've read @Darker45 post (from start to end!) as sarcasm; it was the only way I made sense to me  Wink
10009  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Tech not "Manna" from the skies! on: October 28, 2019, 10:14:12 AM
Let's not get things twisted and funny enough when their false assumptions

Most people don't read much.
They've heard that some early Bitcoiners are rich now. Just look at Ver, or the twins, isn't it?
They may also hear about faucets: money for free. (It doesn't matter that's probably only a tenth of a cent, that part they'll understand much later.)
They may also hear about mining: some magic and poof, money for free.

And here's how the false assumptions are born.
Some will read and see what's the reality. Some others will get disappointed and may even become opponents of this technology.
10010  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-10-26] John McAfee Doubles His Bitcoin Price Prediction on: October 28, 2019, 09:58:48 AM
I don't believe all these predictions because it doesn't work that way

You're right. Nobody really believes them. Not anymore.
But we still wait for end of 2020: Whether John McAfee is right of wrong, it will be interesting  Grin

how's that even possible? Only if he's a gymnast lmao.

Does it have to stay attached? Did he say he'll eat it uncooked?
10011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Has Something to Do with Bitcoin's Price Increase After All on: October 28, 2019, 09:48:25 AM
Oh god, NOT China AGAIN!!! Seriously, no!!!!  Cry
And the posts....the posts here... Cry

After such a declaration from China's president, what you expected, really?  Grin

Blockchain doesn't mean bitcoin, how many times do you people need to read this to understand it?
[~]
As for the buying part, don't apply logic in it, there is no place for it in this madness.

You are right, but don't people buy more on feelings, rumors and FOMO?
I also said that blockchain can also help China in logistics.
But I somehow believe that China doesn't need a presidential statement for that. Of course, this is speculation, and we go back to China + Bitcoin = Love Price.
10012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Has Something to Do with Bitcoin's Price Increase After All on: October 28, 2019, 09:33:45 AM
Imagine 1.3 billion people got to know bitcoin because state made an effort to explain how it works.

So the president tells that blockchain is good.
And the television teaches them about Bitcoin.
I think that everybody is waiting for the next step: allowing the exchanges operate again in China. Hence the price rise...
10013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's President Xi Jinping VS Bitcoin on: October 28, 2019, 09:19:28 AM
While the saying is "blockchain is not Bitcoin", there are multiple aspects here. BTW, thank you for pushing the price back onto the right direction  Grin

1. China is the world's biggest manufacturer. Blockchain can be a blessing for logistics!
2. Whether China's communist party likes it or not, crypto markets means real money, money of which some parts can be earned. It was a mistake to say "no" to that money and this may be fixed in a further step (and maybe this is what the price has shown).
10014  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Latest Rise Was Manipulated? on: October 28, 2019, 08:58:17 AM
I think that the downtrend was fake/manipulation. And with the unexpected help from China the upward pressure couldn't be stopped any longer.
Bitcoin is limited supply and the halving is near. Don't forget that.
10015  Local / Market / Re: Decriptare parole bitcoin-qt client(Proiect) on: October 28, 2019, 08:16:01 AM
Glumeam, iti dai seama Smiley Vezi postarea mea de mai sus, cand il intrebam daca a reusit intre timp ceea ce nici Satoshi nu a putut Smiley

Mea culpa. Lips sealed

N-are nimeni nimic cu tine.

desi apoi ai continuat sa-l iei tot tare.

10017  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Earning Bitcoin with cheap camera equipment. on: October 27, 2019, 10:19:59 AM
Now I need to find a compact flash card.

One direction could be the Chinese shops, like AliExpress and such, just the delivery times are big.
Another direction could be to find a friend or acquaintance who upgraded the card for his phone (or got one that doesn't even need a card anymore).

Also keep in mind that most probably you don't need a big card. Even if you get it with you in holidays, you'll just have to transfer the pictures more often to laptop, cloud or an USB stick.
10018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is Not Ready for Libra on: October 27, 2019, 10:11:48 AM
The hearing lacked substance. Most congress members did not inquire deeply about Libra. They instead delved into smearing Facebook and its credibility.

Although the hearing was not about Libra, it had a very important meaning they wanted to demonstrate: it's too risky to put so much power into Mark's hands.
And Libra means a lot of power and a lot of things that can go wrong, no matter which angle you are looking from.

Libra would mean the first crypto with bigger acceptance than Bitcoin.
Libra would mean a stable coin, like USDT. Tied to one issuer. Something for which the issuer may impose rules you didn't even think of. Just remember what happened when Bittrex "seized" people's coins asking for KYC and multiply it 1 million times. And this can easily happen.
10019  Other / Meta / Re: Possible bug in the activity algorythm on: October 25, 2019, 11:47:05 AM
I guess that you didn't pay attention to the potential activity part.

In order to make 1 activity you need 1 "day resource" and 1 "post resource".
Since you have old account, you have plenty of "day resources", those are not lost, those are potential activity.
Now, since you are posting, you are using up those old "day resources" and the new "post resources" and "generating" activity.
If you keep posting (don't spam, please), at some point the potential activity, the old "day resources" will deplete and the activity will not rise anymore.
Then the "post resources" will add up. And at some point, after 14 days, your activity will just jump a little more.

Clearer now?
10020  Local / Market / Re: Decriptare parole bitcoin-qt client(Proiect) on: October 25, 2019, 10:19:43 AM
