10081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus Phoenix 1660 Super is hot? on: May 03, 2021, 12:26:31 PM
That is a known to be a hot card.

You can bump fan to 65% see what it does.

You can get away with 75% on the fan for long use.

I had one for 2 years it worked fine I sold it in Feb.

I would try it with 65 ,70,75 fan speeds and see how that helps

And it does pull a bit extra juice just like mine did.

What's a reasonable amount to buy these cards right now?

1. RTX3070
2. RTX2080ti

Someone trying to sell for me at 1300$ for the RTX2080ti and 1500$ for the RTX3070, would you buy at this price or they are way too high?

the 2080ti is old tech that is a no.

the 3070 for 1500 is ?

at the moment it burns 50 cents a day and make 5.50 a day so 5 bucks net

1500/5 = 300 days so it is a bit pricey

1000/5 = 200 days fairly good.

When I look for a 3060ti or a 3070   I buy at 1000 or under.

So me personally would not buy it.

But I have a lot of gpus. I do not need it.

Philipma between gtx1660 super and RTX2080ti which is more better? I'm curious since you called RTX2080Ti a old tech card, how is that possible? Buying RTX2080Ti at 1000$ still ok I guess, that card can do 60MH if I'm correct

okay this is hard to explain. but I will try.

the mh is meaningless number.

60mh at 200 watts sucks

so that is why I dont want a 2080ti.

but there is a lot of info why I dont want  200 watt card doing 60mh.

I have

location 1
location 2
location 3
location 4
location 5

they all work right now since prices are good.

location 1 my basement den with the big tv.

i do not want 200 watt hot cards.
i want 120 or even 80 watt cooler quiet cards . I can do 2 pcs pulling about 400 watts in the summer.

location 2 my garage I can do 1500 watts in the summer i want cool quiet cards.

location 3 my friends office I can do 3 pcs with 2x 3070s. quiet not hot.

location 4 the warehouse i can do 1080tis and they are cheaper for me than 2080tis power cost hear and noise do not matter.

location 5 the warehouse but a different room.

at the moment we have 3x 30 amp circuits in this room we will add 7x 30 amp circuits.

since cards are stupid costly location 5 is a next year deal.

someone mentioned fees dropped and they fear profits are going to tank.

I pushed hard with cards from april 2020 to feb 2021.

I would love to have 100 cards by now but i dont.

I have around 58 all paid for and doing very well for now.

I am close to  3000mh.  it will do for now.

back to the five locations. actually 7 my partner buysolar has three rigs in 2 spots.

each one has different quality’s and different profit spots.

my garage right now means all coins go to me but power is going to be 20 cents starting this month.
same for my den.

so if I get any more cards I will be very carefull.

Ahh a freedom fighter anti vaxer.

Asked yourself this if the governments of the world really want to kill off a ton of people do they want to kill off the sheeple that are easy to rob and obey the rules. Nope

they would want to kill off freedom fighting resisters.

So these vaccines will protect the sheeple taking them from the covid 23 that is already in the lab.

The anti vaxers will fall like flies in 2023.

I present this theory to all anti vaxers.

Not because I am pro vaxer and a sheeple but because I want anti vaxers to realize a possiblity that no one else mentions.

So please present

A government good shot good.
B government good but stupid shot bad.
C government evil  out to kill sheeple ie vaxers
D government  evil out to kill freedom fighters ie anti vaxers.
E some other unmentioned case of reality happens to be more precise.

I present this as I weighed the math as best I can.
I know my wife had it in Jan 2020 and it almost killed her. Her lungs are finally getting back to normal after 16 months.

I also had it and need treatment for the damage it did. I will need surgery to repair the damage.
10087  Economy / Speculation / Re: Not true. We entered a bear market earlier than expected. Not true. on: May 02, 2021, 10:30:26 PM
Bitcoin 15%- the major cypto -25% and tomorrow will be 30%- massive hit comming. You will see at 6 am when you wake up.
We enter a bear market now. I expected it to last longer but this is the end,

This the beauity of crypto is unpredictable. I am in 15k I don't sell anything and don't feel anything.
We entered a bear market?? Really? No, only you and less knowledgeable people claim like that. For me and other people who know about crypto say the opposite. we are still in the bull market. If you think bull market always pump, you are miss understanding, in the bull market also have corrections, but after correction will pump again.

This is the end?? Lol, another funny thread from newbie

The problem is they are not locked and deleted.  Or locked and archived.

To be a bear market we would need to drop under 40k and stay under 40k for at least 6 weeks.  And that would mean most likely we are bear.
April just past .

we were 27 days above 50k

and only 3 days below 50k

That is not a bear market.

Here we are in may 2 days above 50 k and 0 days under 50k

that is not a bear market.

Is the thread lock and archived as a lie no.  It sits there with a lie in its title.

Now do I hate the op no

do I think the op is hire to lie and state we entered a bear market.  maybe

in fact it is more than likely he knows exactly wha a bear market is and has chosen to lie so this title show in searches.

All replies should retitles the thread title like I did.

BTW this is factual that we are not in a bear market as the definition of a bear market has not happened.
10088  Other / Archival / Re: Why all cloud mining sites are scam without expect? on: May 02, 2021, 07:52:06 PM
Most of them doesnt proof any pool and link tx . they are runing bussines based on ponzi scheme and only providing basic mining calculation.
I'm not a miner and have never used cloud mining services, so perhaps I shouldn't peep my head into this section and comment, but the above reason is what I've always understood as to why most cloud mining operations are scams.  If you think about it, if one of these operations doesn't provide you with any info like what was mentioned above, it's the perfect setup for a Ponzi scheme (or a flat-out scam).  And given how many scammers there are in the crypto world, you can bet your ass that method has been discovered and exploited to its fullest.

Back when I got interested in bitcoin, there were tons of threads about cloud mining, and it seemed like they were invariably all scams.  And in 2021 it seems like most people have learned their lesson about entrusting their funds with anyone offering cloud mining services--that's what it seems like; I don't know that it's actually true.  I hope it is, because I don't think these scammers have suddenly grown a conscience and started to offer legitimate mining contracts.

the best they are doing is what bitmain could be doing with BTC.BCH,LTC-DOGE, ETH.

Since bitmain maybe innosilicon can play the switch to the best gear trick as they make the miners  all the rest of them are all most likely playing ponzi games.

So yeah you can sign up with a bitmain cloud company such as bitdeer, hashnest, viabtc and basically help them get rich or you can buy and hodl.

He might have had some valid points but he lost me when he started with, "I fully understand that our financial system isn't perfect but at least it's real."

Exactly!  Humans use too much energy - even the ones using the real financial system.

Mechanical/biological POV: boiled down, it's how much of a quasi-monoculture of humans can this planet sustain at various levels of mutual comfort? If we were in the low-mid hundreds of myriads, no problem: have all the tantalium you want - or buffalo, or whatever you can realistically find. Just a matter of price. Oops. Be it the economy or just a kind of behavioral physics, we end up doing hat many other animals - or plants - do when left alone in a place where they "just can": multiply and grow in shapes that often are exponential up to a ceiling, much like an S of sorts. But I digress. There are S-curves that spin more pleasant thought, and this gentlemen.

Nah, population growth have stopped, the average ratio planetwide is two children per family, and it is dropping, in a not to distant future a diminishing population will be our biggest problem.
The reason it doesn't look like that is because the older generations that are now dying of where fewer in number then the ones being born now, when that tip of what used to be a pyramid but now is an obelisk is gone it will be a tower that will slowly turn in to a upside down pyramid.

Interesting.

Every year over the last 50 years we have gone up in population.

I think the last set of negative years was during world war two.

Maybe you are correct we should know in under ten-twenty years time.

It was clear already 11 years ago, watch this lecture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FACK2knC08E

So I looked at last 32 years and peak numbers were in 1985 to 1992 which would be a result of the baby boomers having kids.

so world war two did a double tap in population growth but the 1985-1992 babied now 28 to 35 are not having a lot of kids. So maybe we do drop over the next 10-20 and reach negative growth.

Looks possible.
10093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: May 02, 2021, 03:30:37 AM
So I read an article last night, saying that Nvidia was re-nerfing the 3060's.  I hadn't followed this super closely since none were available to buy, but I think my understanding was this:
 - They came from the factory nerfed for mining.
 - They accidently released a driver update that didn't have the nerfification applied, and tried to retract it, but ooops, too late - it's out in the wild and everybody downloaded it to bypass the nerf.
 - Now they plan to release all new GPUs with another update that re-nerfs the boards.

So my question is, can we all still just re apply that accidental driver update to bypass again?  I know nothing of modding or updating GPUs yet, I'm not messing with the rig I bought unless I have to.  Just leaving everything running as is.  But I am curious for these future boards.  Will we be able to override them?

seems like they will prevent that. heres an article from anandtech explaining it a bit. a small quote below.

Quote
In short, NVIDIA has tweaked future RTX 3060 cards to require this driver (or newer), which will prevent them from using older drivers that can bypass NVIDIA’s hash limiter. As a result, RTX 3060 cards shipping starting in mid-May will once again be fully locked down against running Ethereum at full (native) speed.
https://www.anandtech.com/show/16648/nvidia-updates-geforce-rtx-3060-ethereum-throttle-updated-drivers-required-for-future-3060s

missed the shuffle.

the 3060 makes money mining octopus.

it burns about 115 watts say 3kwatts a day.

or 60 cents with 20 cent power.

it earns 3.30

so 3.30- .60 is $2.70 daily profit.

150 days is 405 return. I paid 428 for my card.

So I think that nerfing it for eth is simply a waste of time.

The card has a three year warranty.

so that is 1000 days. if it clears 2.70 a day it makes over 2700 in three years. mining octopus.

frankly if you have a chance to make 2700 in three years for 428 it would be a steal.

which is why they are wasting their time attempting to nerf the card.

I gave my answer.

Here's the thing about anti-vax conspiracies... governments are barely competent to print money and waste it on useless wars so it's simply impossible that multiple countries (and in the case of the US - two different administrations, under Trump and under Biden) are orchestrating a massive conspiracy involving doctors, scientists, etc, and the only people who can see through it are some schmucks on Youtube.

Yeah I figure the most likely case is the vax is helpful rather than harmful.
The next likely case is it is a push.
The next likely case is it is a little worse.

The very unlikely case is they want to whack the freedom fighting anti vaxers

The most unlikely case is the want to whack the sheeple vaxers.

Having caught it and suffering from it for a long time I would want to avoid variants.
My wife almost died from it. She spent two hospital stays.
And now 15 months after first getting she is finally having success in her lungs healing from its damage.

so getting a variant is not on my to do list.

Its sad that so many people are anti vax but as long as they do not want to lie and hide about it I am fine with them choosing the more risky choice.

10096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk statement on his Bitcoin holding on: May 02, 2021, 02:49:18 AM
Lot's of people spread rummers that elon mask playing with bitcoin market and he exist after taking his profit. Peoples says elon mask sold his bitcoin to crush the market. But elon mask clear this matter by reply a same topic tweet. That he is still his 90% investment of bitcoin holding. He just sold 10% of his investment. Just becasue of spaceX needs funds. He just confirmed this news. So guys don't panic and don't spread rummers.  I want to know what you guys thought about his tweet. What is your opinion?

Elon has worded this statement in a certain way, but as cryptocurrency is not a regulated financial instrument so he could be lying and nobody would ever be able to take any action against him. That's why he cannot spout rumors around Tesla any more, so manipulates cryptocurrency like Dogecoin instead. The fact that you instantly conflate "his" bitcoin with Tesla's bitcoin shows how he can get away with such things, it is effectively working as a money market fund within Tesla and he is not bound to much publication around the profit he takes. The fact that he is on the defensive should be more alarming than him ignoring it in the first place - he usually revels in controversy, he might want a longer time to sell off at the higher price.

Bulls eye 👁.

As long as he does not own an exchange I am pretty sure he can say whatever he wants to about any cryptocoin.

So he is having some fun.

Since it is 10% of Tesla’s BTC it is pretty much a no story.

If it was all of the companies holdings it would have more meaning.

I wonder if there will be a call 📞 for more restrictions on touting a cryptocoin.
Technically, he hasn't sold his Bitcoin, it was Tesla's. And I don't see any abnormality about it as it was just an investment in the end and they've made a really great deal of profit so far. But I'm not content about that the market can be manipulated too easily by these news.
And that is Only 10% that is nothing compared to the remaining 90% .

And Tesla stands for Elon as Elon stands for tesla as well , so tesla selling is Elon's selling .
10097  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Taproot proposal on: May 02, 2021, 02:40:22 AM
Is May 7 still the date when miners start signalling for Taproot? Follow the current status with this site, https://taproot.watch/
No I think they could have signalled any time. But today is the 1st time it would have counted. As 24th April was the start date for activation in this Core commit:
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commit/cbd64c3a28a7466f421477daadc6e6e6b69b898a#diff-ff53e63501a5e89fd650b378c9708274df8ad5d38fcffa6c64be417c4d438b6dR92

Signalling has to be 90% of blocks in a difficulty reset period. And at 8pm UTC 1st May was when that reset. But nobody in the 1st 19 blocks has signalled - which is not a great start.

But we have till 11th Aug so no need to panic yet!

So any pool with 11% of the hash can block it correct?

I mine ?ph  hash on viabtc and I love ❤️ taproot as far as I can see on viabtc they are not asking me to vote.

Plus I have no idea what they vote for.

Not that I am blaming viabtc. Or any other pool.

But I would like to know

A ) list of pools for taproot.
B ) list of pools against taproot.
C ) how do I as a miner make sure I vote for taproot.
D ) or how do I as a miner make sure I do not vote for taproot.

For me if viabtc is against taproot it would be a lot of work to switch to another pool.

I have 100 plus miners to reprogram.

Many of us have 1000 plus miners to reprogram.

The External GPU enclosures + Intel NUC seem to work just like a desktop, but much more simple for a single card, and portable.
Anyone happen to have experience with them?
400 USDT NUC can make about 20 cents a day over electric for the 6+ core models, then a 5700 xt or something as well.
When it's not profitable, a nice media station or portable gaming rig.

Actually I have a dell optiplex mini about 7 by 7 by 2

it would work with an external gpu case.

I will get back to this question.

Those who avoid Gates' vaccine are the 'fittest' insofar as they are either of the predator caste, or are in some manner omnivorous (e.g., me).  The prey caste are the ones who will line up to get the vax almost by the definitions I use in this framing.  There is simply not a big use for them after the 'great reset'...so now it is time for them to go.

When is the "great reset" happening? I need to stock up on canned beans and other very manly things.

In 2023 covid-23 will come killing off 80 % of the anti vaxers.  Grin Note this why I am vaxing.

To me the game of vax or not to vax is simply a choice of which Russian roulette do I play.

Either one can kill me so which is the least likely one to kill me.

If the government is fully good and honest.

vax is best.

if the government is evil is the real question.

if they want to whack millions of people how do they go about it.

better yet if they want to whack millions of people what kind of people do they want to whack?

My guess for rich evil sane people whacking all the sheeple is stupid as fuck.

since the vaxers are sheeple they will not whack the vaxers.

thus the anti vaxers will die in the millions if an evil plot is afoot.

So to all the anti vaxer freedom fighters I sincerely hope the government is fairly honest for your sake.

BTW

this may 4th I get my second shot of pfizer
my wife gets her, second shot of pfizer

so that will be four shots in total for us.

So May the 4th be with you will come true for us.

To all anti vaxers good luck 🍀
To all pro vaxers good luck 🍀

what ever gun you pick up to play russian roulette with covid good luck.

to vax or not to vax that is the question.

I gave my answer.
