- Lincoln6Echo is second, nice.
Lincoln6Echo has finally shown their true face.

... Wondering if "Samantha" is how the average female bitcoin user looks like Cheesy
I know a certain someone from Slack who would not mind.  Lips sealed

Funny enough, that is what I mentioned in the email with my submission: wanted to show the contrast between "The Old Finance" and "The New Finance". Go Bitcoin! Just in time for a nice bull run!!! Smiley
Very Bitcoin friendly background with Citibank and HSBC.  Cheesy

For some reason the pictures loaded very slowly.
10122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.13.1 install and error and so/Problems since Okt. 28 on: November 01, 2016, 03:19:50 PM
The logfile so long that it was not possible to post it here.
You could upload it somewhere, or make a copy and cut out the unimportant stuff (e.g. clean block processing).

Can I send my wallet.dat to you? It's only a few satoshi. I have another wallet to send to.
You can, either shorena or me (I'm usually online longer, in case that you miss them). Make sure that you keep in mind the concerns raised by them.

Might be the way the disk is connected? Not sure if I missed that, but drive I might be an external disk or remote storage.
Could be a cable/port problem in that case. USB 3.0 is really flaky, and I've had this happen 2-3 times myself (the port on the laptop was not as stable as the one in my USB Hub which I've used afterwards). Fixing this required several reindexing attempts (during diagnostic time).
10123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Solution to the Block Size Debate for Miners on: November 01, 2016, 11:29:13 AM
This is what miners could already implement. It is a win-win situation.
Splitting chains is a terrible idea.

By the way, does anyone know if SegWit serves any other purpose than just increasing the block capacity?
SegWit was designed to fix transactions malleability, not increase the throughput (this comes as a bonus). Some of the benefits: Simpler secure signature generation, linear scaling of sigash operations (very important for any block size increases), improved multisig security, script versioning. You can read the full details in this post.

10125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.13.1 install and error and so / 0.13.1 unstable? on: November 01, 2016, 10:29:42 AM
This is realy raffle. If my wallet was empty I wouldnt tried anymore. It's terrible.
If you really want to just extract your wallet and not bother with it anymore, you could give someone the wallet.dat (make sure they're trusted) and install Electrum (SPV client). They can then send you the funds.

Were can I find the support team?
There's no *support team*. Usually the way to get help is either this board, IRC or the issues page on Github (I see that you've already created an issue).
10126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] vDice Ethereum Blockchain Gambling || Crowdsale on: November 01, 2016, 10:23:43 AM
I guess it depends on how bullish you are on Ethereum generally.
Well, that wasn't really the point that I was trying to make here. Regardless of whether ETH becomes successful or not, you're making an assumption that 50-60% of the transactions are going to be gambling (it is quite common for initial business plans to fail because of wrong assumptions).

If you think Ethereum has a future, then it needs Dapps.
I agree that Dapps are an interesting concept.

We did this on Ethereum 'cause it was so utterly interesting and available.
If we can do it on rootstock with Bitcoin, then why not. We'll have to dive into the Rootstock code.
You should definitely look into it and possibly add it into your development plan (if Rootstock is already ready for something like this). Decentralized gambling in Bitcoin would be a huge benefit considering the risks involved in a centralized gambling industry. The ICO will surely be able to fund such an expansion.
10127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.13.1 Released on: November 01, 2016, 08:12:15 AM
And again the same behavior after the 24 h Internet disconnect tonight.
I think we have to open a new ticket  Undecided
That's strange. You should open up an issue on Github. Please make sure that you properly describe your issue in the used format.
10128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sent bitcoins to another wallet install, never completed, 2nd attempt worked on: November 01, 2016, 07:56:33 AM
This was a bit harder to decipher, let me try: You're trying to say that you've sent Bitcoin from your first to your second wallet, and they never showed up. Instead they ended up to an address that you do not own?
Are you sure it's not a change address in your wallet? Does your balance look okay (prior balance  - second TX - tx fee)? We would really need to see TX IDs and some screenshots before we could even come close to guessing what happened (e.g. could be malware, it could be that you've copied the wrong address and so on).
10129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] vDice Ethereum Blockchain Gambling || Crowdsale on: November 01, 2016, 07:50:30 AM
I've done some research into the project, and while it seems very promising (as it decentralizes a big and centralized part of the cryptocurrency ecosystem) there are a few things that were poorly laid out. If you take a look at the Business plan, here are two example claims:
Quote
Bitcoin is the first blockchain. Bitcoin has a market cap. of around $10 billion. Bitcoin is huge for gambling. Around 50-60% of ALL Bitcoin transactions are gambling.
There is no source listed for this.

Quote
You should expect similar results for Ethereum, very soon.
This is a very hard assumption that was made in the business plan, one which could quite *easily* backfire.

I'm not sure why the Whitepaper uses built in links instead of listing sources? I was also interested in whether there were any plans to also bring this to Bitcoin via a smart contract platform such as Rootstock?
10130  Other / Meta / Re: New services subforum for Signature Campaigns? on: November 01, 2016, 07:31:04 AM
This has been discussed numerous times. I wouldn't be against it necessarily, but I don't think there's enough to justify a new sub. There's usually only about 20 or so, though they are the most popular type of service in there.
I'd be inclined to vote for this. Even though the number of such threads isn't high at any time, they are constantly being posted in (especially by spammers from other campaigns) which makes the other services lose a lot of potential visibility.

Maybe it would be interesting, but I don't think it's very important, because we already have this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0
This thread is irrelevant to the point that OP has pointed out (which is that finding other services is becoming increasingly hard because of these threads).

And on this thread we have all the important necessary informations about all currently running campaigns. I just think some informations about open campaigns aren't right, because when we look at it the campaign isn't accepting new members on that moment...
This is completely irrelevant. If you have a problem with that thread, then contact the OP or post in it.

Update

https://bitmixer.io/signature.html Bot now working

Getting This error
 Curl error:connect() timed out!
Error! Can't get bitcointalk.org
This is obviously not a problem with Bitmixer itself, but rather with Bitcointalk as it has been very unstable the past couple of days. The bot may end up getting this error quite frequently until this is resolved.
10132  Economy / Reputation / Re: KHW punish me for no reason on: October 31, 2016, 07:29:11 PM
1) PM-ing me is pointless.
2) You broke a forum rule in this thread.
3) If you think this is clear abuse, then you need to educate yourself on the trust system.
4) Being able to join signature campaigns is not a 'right'.
5) You aren't building up a nice case for yourself with statements such as "every dog has his day".

P.S. Remove the Bitmixer signature.

No. This version does not contain such improvements.

News: Latest stable version of Bitcoin Core: 0.13.0  [Torrent]. This is not changed yet. Do it means that you don't know if 0.13.1 is stable?
No. That has just not been updated yet. It usually takes a few days.
10135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Enable HD wallet on: October 31, 2016, 10:12:42 AM
Is master key = private key ? after generating some addresses , I went to the receiving in the menu (where all generated addresses are located) , I took some of them and used dumpprivkey , result shows private keys aren't the same ?
The addresses in a HD wallet are derived from a master key, however this does not mean that addresses have the same private key (this would not make sense). This is what makes it possible for a single backup to be used regardless of how many addresses you generate (which is not the case with a SD wallet). You should read up more about HD wallets.
10136  Economy / Reputation / Re: KHW punish me for no reason on: October 31, 2016, 06:28:10 AM
He said my account was sold but is not true.
False. The feedback clearly states:"Asking for a no collateral, 28 day loan on the 29th then starting a thread on the 30th giving collateral loans.". He mentioned that your account is probably sold.

What can I do?
Talk to KHW or the person that put him into DT2 (i.e. someone from DT1).

Why is he allow to abuse of the trust system?
I don't see any abuse.
10137  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] WIFI Bitcoin And Altcoin Price Ticker Screen - afkdata.com on: October 30, 2016, 09:54:40 PM
yep when the device starts note down the IP address that is on the screen

Enter the IP in to chrome, firefox or IE
I know how to set up the device, just wasn't aware of how to get rid of the altcoin price.

change the LTC in the altcoin box to XAU or XAG for gold or sliver.

You can also change the currency box to EUR or CNY (if its not already) or something and enter BTC in the Altcoin box and you will get USD BTC price on second line.
Thank you. I've managed to change it to BTC EUR and BTC USD. Is it possible to update the device to the newer version(s)? I haven't kept up to date with this thread.

Update: Found it. Will try once I find the time. Keep up the great work.
10138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FACT CHECK: Bitcoin Blockchain will be 700GB in 4 Years on: October 30, 2016, 07:22:00 PM
Ah, the ratio between the tx block and the signature block has to reflect the average signature size, hence all the "block weight" language used to describe the signature block structure.
Correct. The expected 1.7 MB is based on the current real world usage (primarily P2SH). r/btc recently tried to spread FUD that for 1.7MB worth of transactions, Segwit requires 4 MB of data (which is wrong on so many levels).

So the ratio gets a little tighter if we drop ECDSA for Schnorr sigs.
Not just a 'little tighter'. Multisignature size after Schnorr will be trivial in comparison to the current one, we are talking about much smaller size or the same size as a 1-of-1 (this depends on whether you want to know who signed messages).

Is the Schnorr scheme not relatively new though?
Kind-of, but it's the *gold standard* of digital signing algorithms.

So, a little over my monthly growth prediction, but it grew by 5% between end of Sept and end of Oct.
You should definitely keep historical data, so that we can compare with 2017 (with 'after-Segwit data').
10139  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | Bitmixer.io Signature Campaign | Earn up to 0.035 BTC/week on: October 30, 2016, 04:30:18 PM
Are there a free spot for me?
Thanks in advance!
Read the thread before asking redundant questions such as this one. Enrollment is automatic and I do not know the total amount of available spots.
10140  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | Bitmixer.io Signature Campaign | Earn up to 0.035 BTC/week on: October 30, 2016, 02:53:56 PM
Am I accepted when I put my UID on the link given.
I have nothing to do with user enrollment; that part of the system is automated. I keep the list of enrolled users clean. That said, considering your post quality, I'm not sure why you even bother joining a campaign that actively fights against keeping low quality posters and spammers in it.

Bans have been processed and enrolling should be possible for 50 users.
