10121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most reliable RX580 brand on: October 08, 2017, 12:07:47 AM
Xfx rx 580 8g gts black edition..  1 button pop out fans to replace.. so I keep my fans at 95% all times

Is that useful to clean them or you mean to replace because of wear and tear ?   I also found fans to be the most likely to slow or stop mining, in one case it was the actual fan controller chip that went wrong without any good reason for it.

I have a XFX card from 2008 thats never stopped, it was a blower style though which apparently do last longer.   Not anymore but at one time XFX offered life time warranty to original owners, seems they are still higher quality like that

3813 Euro thats your line to cross, till then its just playing with your heart I think.   Resistance is attractive then repels like magnets it can do both unfortunately which is deceptive often, not that I know it'll hold the line just its not yet popcorn time lol
10123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is S2X already on life support? on: October 07, 2017, 11:31:06 PM
What wallet will you use to park your bitcoin durring the fork so you get both after the fork?
I believe you'd be ok to use a mobile wallet even and retain control of both blockchains should there be a fork of any significance.  Last time Mycelium wallet was recommended and seems easy enough to control.

Sounds like Bitfinex is smart enough to account for all scenarios there, good to know because liquidity relies on able hands to not drop the ball in such times
10124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bought my first BTC @ $4600, slightly worried on: October 07, 2017, 11:02:44 PM
Words of encouragement I would say dont be too worried just at this moment because its normal for adverse news of some kind, the main thing that matters is integrity of the blockchain itself.  The most relevant news is crypto news, various politics and country news is not so systemic as what can happen digitally.
I would also argue its better to buy every month not just once off, regular buys gains an average price.  So long as its a bullish market you will be into growth which is the most reliable way to get a profitable trade, nobody knows exactly when is the right times to buy or sell.

So does anyone have some juicy TA? Cause I need to see some TA.

Complete with graphs, random drawn lines, and such.

How can we track price if we don't have some graphs? Anyone? Bueller?

Heres a graph as requested with OBV indicator.   4730 as a target overhead, fib line but more relevant nearterm are recent support and trend I think. 4551 is 76% retracement of the bigger fall recently on PBOC news
10126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Share where you invest on: October 07, 2017, 05:57:14 PM
One simple thing I can state is not investment exactly but some coins pay a return on your holding.  Maybe you prefer this system and its also a fast transfer compared to proof of work which is how bitcoin works.   The thing to google would be proof of stake which relies on wallet holders to confirm transactions and you share in fees like a miner, I find this quite ideal and in my mind aligned well with the ideas of capitalism.

Also I think POS is more distributed then the normal mining system, its very easy to use.   IF you are asking for my own recommendations, I would mentioned BLK or Blackcoin as a POS coin and also I use Energycoin or ENRG which is working towards a sustainable network and has token use forthcoming.  Both have dedicated active devs and well worth taking a look imo.  Of course search out ideas for yourself as well Smiley

These are known as alternative crypto currency, its not bitcoin and some consider it more risky.   Both I mentioned are established 3 years compared to Bitcoin being more then twice as old and a much deeper market but I find both systems have advantages
10127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid fees when buying coins on: October 07, 2017, 05:52:53 PM
Exchanges don't charge fees for deposits. They charge them for withdrawals. If you want to avoid them you can use services like localbitcoin but rates will be a bit worse.
Don't use those scammers at Localbitcoins. They charge ripoff fees way more than it costs to send BTC. Over $20 in fees to withdraw from this ripoff site. Never will use them again.

The whole point is they are not scamming but providing an escrow service.  Its probably not the cheapest for very small amounts as the fee is not a percentage ?   however they have split fee between deposits and withdrawals to even it out and they also vary the fee according to the network itself so it might be cheaper at some times and days then others.
One site I did used to use has never varyed their withdrawal fee and right now its one tenth of bitcoin to move the money, imagine how stupid or dishonest that system is.  Localbitcoins is quite reasonable in comparison and I cant agree with much criticism of them from my experience over the last 4 years.
Of course there might be better sites, competition is always good.

I know for small trading the best place might be Reddit where you can switch to various shopping cards and vouchers and people up reputation and so on
10128  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: October 07, 2017, 05:44:19 PM
What if somebody will make a huge dump and sell it all the way to earn some profits because of this rally in bitcoin, and someone sees it and do that same thing. Is there any effect on bitcoin when someone to this,?
If that is going to happen the price of the bitcoin will go down.

Excessive supply is the source of all big sell offs.    Bitcoin does not have loose monetary inflation like all the major FIAT currencies right now.    Think of it like a ratio or a balancing scales, on one side Dollar is so incredibly weak, it has the consistancy of quicksand from all the QE liquidity pushed into the system to make bankruptcy go away.
On the other side we have Bitcoin which forgives no sins on bad accounting, no central authority can make things looser and hand out free coins out of nowhere.   So you have to look around for this new gaint source of bitcoin and its not there.   Likely there will be selling, many speculators exist but there is no single one centralised bank of coin just waiting to weaken the current price.
With weakness on one side the dollar price for BTC is not seeming to sell off, we would need to see bitcoin not perform its job and utility for global transfer which it is helping millions perform right now

Solar panels are becoming way more efficient, its very good in remote areas.   In USA I saw an article on production in Nevada which as you know is desert like with alot of sunlight.  So many people started producing energy they were competing with the state owned energy company and so the government has clamped down on this wanton capitalism and is taxing it heavily to try and stop any further usage of sunlight for power.   No warning on the taxes, many have thousands in costs and are unable to recover that against taxable profit as a business would be able to

Have you already got a working app? Because this project called Equis already has an app that works and does the same/similar thing to your idea. heres a link if anyones interested - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2243351.0

Im new but looked around and there is active betting on games already happening so it would appear things are underway already.      I will download the MIST wallet and take it from there I guess, I thought there might be a quicker online wallet I might use I cant remember if I setup one up ages ago or not
10131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 07, 2017, 03:33:05 PM
Does any protocol need 16gb of memory, I cant think anything that is coming close to that requirement or you might have some great advantage tp go forward with.   Increase the HBCC tons?   I dont know, I dont think that alters that usage exactly.   I read a few different forums so I'll post if I see anything but you might be better off selling it or at least advertising then buying the cheaper Vega that come out closer to xmas perhaps

Quote
In wattman i notice one thing, on the second card I can't go upper that 920Mhz for the memory. ( but the first one handle the 950Mhz).
Do you think is a GPU default?

The 56 bios limits volts to memory.   Apparently all thats needed is to swap on the 64 bios and it then allows higher volts, now you can get the same speed HBM as 64 ?   I'm not sure if 56 is really as high quality, if not its close
10132  Economy / Economics / Re: Long term OIL on: October 07, 2017, 05:51:48 AM
The only reason for Peak Oil to occur is we no longer rely on oil that much, exploration costs are no longer justified by the price because demand for energy is met elsewhere.   Such as natural gas fracking if we are talking basic energy but the great developments in electric production , storage and usage efficiency since the 70's

We still have the whole of Iraq to release its reserves, we dont see real active production or proper development because its still in a malaise from the last world war.   Any time they can stop building bombs instead of drilling rigs we'll see another figure to mirror Saudi Arabia.   This is not a picture that paints peak oil, rising prices are most likely from weak currency not the actual commodity

I'm only just hearing about this now, its quite interesting as I used to bet on csgo games all the time before csgolounge went down.   Since the number one service is gone there is a gap in the market. so this could be a good venture.

I dont use ETH alot, whats the easiest online wallet to use to take part.   I only use ETH especially indirectly mostly with some gambling sites and exchanges and I guess that is not really going to work out fully so anyones quick opinion of which wallets are quickest, highest utility would be good.
10134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 07, 2017, 01:08:35 AM
Your car example is spot on. CPI is one of the very bogusest statistics, everywhere in the world. One of the best ways for guvments to obfuscate the real inflation rate.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedonic_regression

I agree on the mention of how this affects GDP outlook also, its really a big issue.   Eventually they do have to reset or default some of these liabilities that have built up, its that or we do have inflation of the monetary base that has exceeded growth.   The positive thing would be to trim government and admit some default, the negative scenario is they end up impairing positive real businesses.   The FED model is to only ever gradually release inflation, I think thats their plan.

Quick look at BTC has it following a trend line that is true for most of 2017.    Sometimes falling below, hitting support 4119 and back above so its like a tightrope more then a hard ceiling or support this trend for now anyway.  25759 CNY roughly equates as support.
Kraken Euro price fits within fib lines I think 3531 matching that last low and I would draw a short term trend from that low as well, so looking positive
10135  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: October 07, 2017, 12:48:30 AM
I made alot profit from investing in btc. And feel that my money is really working. While in gold, i have to wait for years just to get a decent profit.

Gold has lower volatility, it qualifies more as savings then speculation that bitcoin gains as a new product.     There is a lower chance of loss with gold as well its likely lower gains in growth.

Right now gold has a trend lower, I think possibly it will reach the July lows and then it might be better time to speculate on a rising price.   A greater amount of return is obtained by investing in secondary companies to the basic commodity like mining firms, effectively their costs are fixed and the margin profit on gold means the returns are leveraged.    This means the returns can be exponential not linear and impressive similar to how bitcoin moves.    Gold doesnt have to be boring, hope people realise this Smiley
10136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IT IS TOO LATE? on: October 07, 2017, 12:14:59 AM
I am a newbie and i want to know that, has it been too late for me to involve with bitcoin?
I think yes, because you see the price of the bitcoin now and some of altcoins? Its almost so high even in a month you cant buy 1 bitcoin not like previous years.

It doesnt work like that anyway, people dont have to own 1 bitcoin to use it.   The whole world is billions of people and so there will never be enough coins to give 1 to each person and there are only millions of bitcoin, the scale is off to ever say I want 1.

The answer really is any fraction or small part of bitcoin useful in transmitting value, since its allowing global use in any country and fast easy to access balances its relevant even in small amounts.    The answer to the question has to be given by yourself really, I guess it varys by your own community.   In general across the world, on average the usage or need for bitcoin is rising.   Most of the billions in the world really have small amounts of money, so can bitcoin help them.   If you think bitcoin is useful then its not too late.
10137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: QUESTION ABOUT COINS on: October 07, 2017, 12:03:53 AM
With capital controls a value can be fixed but what that does is restrict the exchange of value.    So with very small amounts of one coin to another you would have that fixed value.    People might pretend that every coin into the millions is then worth the fixed value but it would not be true as the market is illiquid and basically false.

Sometimes entire countries resort to these tactics however they also have a great many citizens who are working within that currency, it can make some sense.   Mostly it requires that nation is productive and does not trade especially outside its borders as that conversion is restricted.   Its just not really feasible, if you have some amazing product backing your currency I guess its a thing you can try as you have then a demand for your coin via a unique product
10138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good time to get into crypto? on: October 06, 2017, 11:37:33 PM
Its a good time if bitcoin is growing, this certainly seems the case as numbers of users and usage is still rising so I think the answer must be yes.     As far as mining I would mostly say the time has passed for casual mining by very small scale operations, I used to mine as well and its been a while since I did any.   I wouldnt risk buying into BTC mining not because I dont think BTC will go anywhere but its become more commercial and the scale is now business sized.

I wish it was still home based personally, I think it would have more distribution around the globe and be a positive but its not that way.   If you want to experiment there is still alot ideas and new chains being started in crypto generally, nothing wrong with that.   Anyone can ask for BTC as payment and generally I think thats worthwhile as an interest not a business unless you pick up a particular idea  Smiley
10139  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are Venezuelan not switching to Bitcoin? on: October 06, 2017, 11:30:42 PM
The country has a large inflation rate as the government is printing money to cover a deficit.   That is why they will not allow their citizens to freely use other currency and you cannot easily obtain dollars, the inflation is a form of taxation and to this large extent it becomes a way to seize wealth from the country to feed politics and the elite.

I would be surprised if they allowed use of bitcoin but I do wonder how they can ban everything that might be an alternative like gold.   I know that trading petrol is considered illegal, largely because its supplied at a subsidised price.
It is very much not a capitalist country, everything is in control of government and if they had democracy they dont now
10140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 06, 2017, 01:47:54 PM
:'(CPI is a government statistic also.   The end figures only publish after approval and adjustment, they will not report the higher price of a car for example without first discounting the car as being superior to one ten years ago.    So say 25% higher price, they might reduce actual recorded inflation and say the car is 20% improved so inflation of price is 5%.  Fair or not this is not a plain number hence the steady line may be from this constant process of correction.

Dollar is rising today as earnings average rises at its fastest for some time
