Just got a message that my session token was invalid, please log out and log back in again.
Was able to sign out and sign back in but site is still lagging randomly.
This happened to me while I was trying to delete some posts. However, there was no need to actually log out and log back in. A simple refresh and secondary attempt fixed it.

It keeps becoming inaccessible from time to time here as well.

I thought TBF was dead. Why is this still a thing? I have not seen anything 'useful' from it in a long time.
10143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Enable HD wallet on: October 30, 2016, 11:12:09 AM
This does not seem correct to me. The original seed should not be altered when the password to protect it is changed. Thus any initial backup, be it with or without password should allow a user to restore the wallet, regardless of later password changes. Did I miss something here?
This is something that I've read in the 0.13.0 release notes, and have looked it up one more time after reading your post. This is what I've found:

Quote
If you create a new wallet with 0.13.0 (or above) and you change from the default unencrypted wallet to an encrypted wallet, a new HD wallet will be generated for you. You will still have access to any bitcoins sent to the unencrypted wallet, but you will need to backup the wallet again.
https://bitcoincore.org/en/2016/08/23/release-0.13.0/

This should be mentioned as well (I forgot to do so):
Quote
Importantly, if you manually import any private keys to your wallet, they cannot be recovered using any backups made prior to the import, so you will need to make a new wallet backup and use that.
10144  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk hosting ? on: October 30, 2016, 10:36:52 AM
I'm like 99.99% sure , they was hosting the forums in exchange of putting their ad in the bottom of the page. As for the results shown above I don't think It's the real IP. This also confirm what I said : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159736.0 &  https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1aefdk/why_does_privateinternetaccess_host_bitcointalk/
Are you sure about that? Take a look at this quote:

quick correction just for FUD insurance, the forum is ran by theymos, theymos is the only one that has access to the forum's server box. Private Internet Access just donated the box so the forum can be hosted for in exchange for that permanent ad on the bottom.
This is quite different from being hosted by PIA.
10145  Economy / Services / Re: BubblesBit is looking for Moderators on: October 30, 2016, 10:30:40 AM
Must be online 6-8 hours a day
-snip-
If the site does well we have no problems giving the mods some love but youre applying for a non paying position right now.
This is definitely a hefty requirement for a non paying position.

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to do this kind of job.  you'd better find some voluneer rather than moderators eveyone's time is time. you don't have the right to waste other's time to working for , whoever you are.
What makes you think that moderation necessarily has to be a job based on a salary? In most places, that I've encountered through the years, moderators were on voluntary or bonus basis. Obviously, having a salary gives one incentive to be more active. However, this does not mean that they are necessarily going to be better at their position.

As far as I know Private Internet Access ( https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ ) was hosting the forums.
Are you sure about that? They were only sponsoring/advertising on Bitcointalk IIRC (I'm not entirely sure though).

Not sure if this information is correct but this website says amazon.com.
Yes, the information is valid. There are plenty of websites that offer whois tools (some with history, but that's usually a premium feature). You could, optionally, run something like 'tracert bitcointalk.org' via command prompt and you will notice the AWS IPs.

Why would I be angry over ~$3? Compensation would be nice, but what I'm mainly concerned about is just having it updated for next time so that the mistake is fixed.
Compensation for losing $3?  Roll Eyes

Mistakes happen, even OP is a human. That's an example of where automated campaigns are superior.
One of the very few examples.
I was not trying to create an argument that there are 'plenty of examples'. Auto-enrollment is bad, but partial auto-management is very helpful depending on the set of available tools.

In my humble opinion,if it was all about "growing balls" and "being a man",you wouldn't make an alias for yourself. Like why don't you use your real name and other details if you think you'd be taken more seriously that way ?
There's a huge difference between hiding your identity with an alias, and hiding behind an alt. I do think that you are aware of this yourself.

10150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Enable HD wallet on: October 30, 2016, 07:59:44 AM
Understood (It's working fine) , and do I need to make backups as usual or all addresses are derived from one private key only ?
You only need to make a single backup (since they are derived from one master key) and you should be fine, unless you:
1) Encrypt the wallet.
2) Change the passphrase.

In these cases, you need to back up again.
10151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FACT CHECK: Bitcoin Blockchain will be 700GB in 4 Years on: October 30, 2016, 07:56:55 AM
It'll take a bit more evolution in peoples habits using the software (and development/growth time for 2nd layers like Lightning) to fill up the 4MB total.
If you take a look at some testnet blockchain explorers, you will encounter a few different types of blocks. In general, the heavier the multisignature usage is, the closer will the *block size* reach 4 MB. However, a whole different story will be *told* if Bitcoin Core upgrades to Schnorr signatures (where multisignature style transactions would be of similar or equal size to standard transactions).
10152  Other / Meta / Re: girlbtc.com-----get banned----- on: October 30, 2016, 07:41:51 AM
Because we are still running some Signature Campaign, and employing some staff. for convenience , please
It is highly likely due to the fact that you were constantly breaking some rules. You have been warned by other staff members. Keep in mind that if you post anywhere outside of this thread, that it will be considered ban evasion and you would likely get a permanent ban.
10153  Other / Meta / Re: [SMAS] Signature Managers against Spam (light version) on: October 29, 2016, 09:28:38 AM
Thanks guitarplinker, although I wanted to do it for the sake of experimenting.

so this is a core team and don't have place to other managers. it means we are (new managers) free to take our own decision and ignore your blacklists?
or we'll get negatives if we accept people ignored by you?
That would most likely be considered power abuse, so no. However, by accepting these members you are indirectly contributing to spam which I find shady as is.

Can I somehow get rid of the LTC or replace it with something else? I don't know the version of my device, but it surely is the most early one I believe.

10157  Other / Meta / Re: Deletion of posts on: October 29, 2016, 12:18:15 AM
From my perspective: standard 1 liner signature spam. However, I do not think that I'm the one who deleted them.
