They should allow for use of 2 coupons per S2. That would increase sales substantially.
One coupon and S2 at $1844 at the current BTC price-not super exciting.

Same here. All should be fine as long as Eligius is accepting shares (which is the case for me). The share log log isn't tied to or dependent upon the stats in the stats page. I have had several "hiccups"  and leaked shares to my backup pool but I don't think that has anything to do with the stats being down.

How can you check if shares are being accepted in the meantime, apart from being paid and checking the wallet?

Yes, I got the same stuff. I can see the home page and the stats page, but upon entering my wallet info: 500 Internal Server Error
Are the shares being properly recorded?
10144  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winklevoss twins: Bitcoin will be bigger than Facebook on: May 20, 2014, 02:37:09 AM
I'm not saying that they're lying but since they invested so much, it should probably be assumed that they are optimists, and might not notice things that could counter their optimism.

In fact every time I read a bullish bitcoin article lately, it's usually from one of three people:  winklevoss,  barry silbert, or bobby lee. It's getting old. I'd like to see it from someone else, preferably who is new to bitcoin.

Every time i see a negative opinion in press or listen to some panel-it is always Professor Bitcorn, who seems to invite himself to these meeting (once he was not even on agenda, but mysteriously appeared anyway). I see bullish articles every day on ZeroBlock and from many people. What sources of info do you peruse-WSJ?
10145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 19, 2014, 11:32:43 PM
knc took funding for a 20nm project.

they figured out it was more beneficial to mine now with 28nm rather than later with 20nm.

they took the funding, delayed the project, built a massive hashing center, at max over 11% of found blocks one difficulty change.

they delayed the project enough.that most 20nm customers would refund as the cost was just not effective anymore, apart from for KnC, who the chip cost a fraction of the price.

they mined enough with the 28nm data center to pay all customers a refund who asked and keep their mining center alive.

the remainder of 28nm will be offloaded to make way for the large portion of 20nm they have bought back from customers.

to all you sp30 pre order people, past performance is no reflection of future performance.

Pretty accurate description. Do you think that KnC will ever try to make a competitive standalone bitcoin miner or they pretty much conceded to spond and bitmain?
I thought that mini-Neptune could be competitive, but not at current prices, of course, more like $2500-2900 right now or much less later on.
10146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: May 19, 2014, 09:58:52 PM
Spondoolies, what happened to the work with the PSU supplier? I thought that the cause of most of the noise according to past reports from you and Doogie's reviews showed that the major source of noise was the PSU fan and that you were trying to get it turned down because it didn't need to be running at that speed 100% of the time.

Unfortunately, Emerson won't provide a fix to the 1050w PSU.
The SP30's 1200w PSU doesn't have this problem.

obviously, SP-10 is great with everything except noise. Sorry to keep going back to this, but i intend to host it at home and won't be able to do it if noise is significant.

Did anybody used this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005V3L834/ref=cm_cd_asin_lnk

Maybe a box-like structure or simply put them on the wall.
Anybody tried any noise reducing solution?

They will probably EOL it on 5/28 or, as they put it, 5/29 00:00:00, whatever this means (GMT, Shanghai?)-this is when last coupons expire. Or they can pull a fast one and do it one-two days early...LOL

112bit/Juan-Since I did not get an answer over the weekend, i will ask again:

How much faster is $35 UPS delivery vs Free delivery? Is it the same speed, one day faster, 2 day faster, etc.?

Is the same, orders over u$s 1500 can do free shipping.

I need to fix it in the checkout page just to avoid the u$s 35 shipping for orders over u$s 1500.-

Regards

Juan

OK, great, thanks.

Are you for real? Show me a retail store where you can buy a miner? Tigerdirect doesn't count, due to BFL connection.

Here you go: http://www.microcenter.com/product/431763/AntMiner_S1_180GH-s_Standalone_Bitcoin_Miner

ha ha ...you beat me by a second in that reference. Are you in Houston?

In the meantime, I want to pistol-whip anyone who will start whining that this would happen if I would say more positive things...

Wow, you surely sounds like one infamous historical personality here
10153  Economy / Speculation / Re: thinking about buying 5k in bitcoin on: May 18, 2014, 01:38:01 AM
It is much better to buy $5k in Bitcoin now, than to pay $5,000/BTC later.  Smiley

One can use the rest of 2014 to slowly accumulate XBT/BTC.
Say, use 5 % of your income to steadily buy BTC every two weeks. Even if it goes to zero eventually, your losses will be limited.
If, on the other had, BTC will be THE MONEY in 10-15 years, relatively small amounts of BTC accumulated now will be very valuable later on.

I see now why they are not buying with such gusto anymore.
Coindesk has news that says that at least one of their bank accounts was cancelled. What a bummer.

I'm at a loss for words. This is just incredible. Shameful. USA, get your shit together.

Exactly. Have we become China yet or what? Since when hedge funds are suppose to invest in super safe securities and how it is their bank business what Second Market invests in? Sounds almost like April Fool's news  Sad

Yes, they were perfectly happy to invest in CDOs that had, incidentally, triple A ratings.

Hi, Juan. Can you comment on UPS shipping for $35 vs Free shipping in terms of how fast the item will be here in US at my doorstep?
Aren't they all coming from Shenzen?
10156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 16, 2014, 10:17:15 PM
I'm sure Bitmain is doing some serious damage with all the S1 and S2s they are producing.

As they always have. But they are about to have some serious competition from asicminer. Hashratio is selling 8TH machines using AM chips for $11,000 which is by far the lowest price.

Source?
http://www.cybtc.com/article-956-1.html

bitmain is at $1/GH vs $1.375/gh in your example, so Bitmain is marginally better without considering electricity.
However, what is power consumtion on hashratio machine and is it available with instructions in english? I am a bit too old to learn a third difficult language. Smiley

I am sorry, what does that mean?

Nobody noticed that with coupon S1 is now at the magical $1/GH (even without overclocking at BTC~448-450)?
Yeaaah...

She said:

“[The bank] gave us notice yesterday that they wanted to end that banking relationship, in part because our transitions around bitcoin, even though we’re not an MSB or an exchange, [it] raised our risk profile and it was too much work for them to figure it out.”

What I keep thinking when I see these charts is, "can it really be this predictable?"

Of course, not.
10160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 16, 2014, 03:05:50 AM
did the lucky recipients of their own money back receive any email or correspondence wrt their refund or did it just arrive silently?

I never got any confirmation before or after from KNC, the refund just appeared in my wallet

I got an email just as blockchain showed the transaction...and now I even got a small piece of IKEA furniture from our local hub as a token of appreciation for my zero % five mo loan to KnC... Grin (just kidding)

Edit: On a more serious note, I think that the idea for Neptune design (being Jupiter-like if they will try to maintain it) was blown away by dense chip arrays from Spondoolies and Bitmain.

Neptune hash/$$ is just not appealing anymore when we've got $1/GH in S1 (despite it being a power hog), ~$1.6 in S2 and ~$2.1 in Sp-10 while the expected value for Neptune remained at $4.4/GH. Besides, these two competitors are shipping NOW from stock.

I conclude that preorders had become a losing game for now (for miners)
