As far as I know so far hindi pa. At least wala pang disclosed hacking incident from Coins.ph.

10142  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best place to learn and practice Blockchain? on: February 07, 2020, 05:56:45 PM
I'm definitely not a programming expert per se, but blockchain is just a database. Now how do you get to be a "blockchain expert"? Simply learn programming first. There's no secret to being a on-demand "blockchain developer" without knowing programming in general first.

Probably learn Python from the free courses from YouTube and Udemy first.

EDIT: oh and I forgot. If you're a fan of books, look up Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos and Programming Bitcoin by Jimmy Song.
Coins.ph getting hacked?
Or kahit sariling way ng security like yung mga old laptops or something, basta magawan ng paraan.

Yep. For some reason sobrang common parin ung linyang "safe/secure naman ang coins.ph" kahit historically karamihan ng exchanges, kahit ung mga exchanges na malayong malayong mas malaki pa sa Coins.ph e vulnerable sa hacks. MtGox, Bitfinex, etc.

10144  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Bitcoin Revolution Scam on: February 07, 2020, 03:33:43 AM
If there we're people who'd fall for this, I think they are hyped.

Yep. Tapos isama mo pa ung kahirapan. Ipagsama mo ung promises na yaman at ung kahirapan, boom. Easy kombinse.
10145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Justin Sun had a dinner with Warren Buffet! on: February 07, 2020, 03:23:17 AM
Why would this photo of him and WB affect the crypto markets? That would show how immature the markets still are. Meeting WB doesn't mean anything..

If there's something I'm sure about Justin Sun, is that this dude loves attention. And by having a dinner with such a big name in the investing space like Warren Buffet, this dude's definitely gonna get some publicity in social media and in media in general. I mean, he already has an article from CNBC[1] lmao. I completely agree that this money could be used for a lot more better things though; knowing that Warren Buffet isn't really tech literate.

10147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Justin Sun had a dinner with Warren Buffet! on: February 06, 2020, 03:47:48 PM
You should keep in mind that Buffett is almost 90 years old and that it doesn't really matter what he thinks about Bitcoin. Even if he changes his opinion, it will mean nothing in long term. Bitcoin is much more than one man's opinion, no matter who it is.
I'd imagine that a lot of short-term thinkers are hoping for a positive comment from Warren Buffet(because ya know, famous investor and all that stuff) concerning bitcoin as to pump up the prices.

I'm pretty sure there's not, though I agree it would be fascinating to be a fly on the wall for whatever conversation they had.
Yeap. Would be weird for a dinner to have cameras. The best thing we could do right now unfortunately is to set up camp on these people's Twitter accounts(especially from Charlie Lee as I'd definitely trust him more than Justin Sun) and wait for a more in-depth story on what went on in their conversation.

EDIT: This is what we have currently:

10148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Justin Sun had a dinner with Warren Buffet! on: February 06, 2020, 03:28:23 PM
I'm sure it was just dinner. It's unlikely that Warren allowed Justin to talk about crypto.

I mean, yea it's just a dinner. So of course they're allowed to talk about almost anything. And it says that Justin Sun gave him some bitcoin, so I'm going to assume bitcoin was somewhat talked about regardless how long or how short. I swear though, Justin could've picked better people like Andreas Antonopoulos to talk to Buffet, but I guess Charlie Lee is fine as long as he actually focused on Bitcoin(and not Litecoin).

One thing's for sure, I really wish there's a video of it. Though I kinda doubt it.
10149  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Isang daang araw nalang bago ang kakulangan on: February 06, 2020, 03:31:04 AM
I think,  this kind of worries na baka bumaba ang hashrate ay proven na hindi naman nangyayari after ng ilang halving ni BTC bagkus ay lalong lumalaks ang competition at tumataas ang hashrate.

Yeap, though baka unlikely na mangyari un, andun parin ung possibility. Ang di natin alam is kung hindi tumaas ung price, di natin alam kung willing ba mag-mine at a loss ung mga miners. Dahil kung hindi sila willing magmine at a loss, chances are, mag ddrop talaga ung hashrate simply dahil mas kokonti ang miners.

In the end, we're just guessing. Time will tell kung anong mangyayari.  Tongue
10150  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: long time waiting for verification! localbtc 0.5! inside! on: February 06, 2020, 03:23:05 AM
i send pdf jpg png and the response it "you need to wait" 5 days!!!

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do but wait. Calm down though, if you comply with their requirements, chances are, they will give you back access to your funds. Just be patient.

P.S. If you hate KYC/AML like a lot of us here on Bitcointalk, try https://bisq.network/
10151  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Isang daang araw nalang bago ang kakulangan on: February 05, 2020, 05:17:19 PM
Let us just prepare sa araw na yun pero don't expect instant price movements because of it.

Yeap. It'd be better to be realistic parin. Sure, pwedeng magpataas ng price ang halving dahil sa pag decrease ng mining rewards hence lower selling pressure galing sa mga miners, pero let's not forget na pag after the halving e hindi tumaas ang price, potentially pwedeng bumaba ang hashrate ng bitcoin dahil na-cut in half ung mining rewards while having the same price, hence baka magmmine at a loss ung ibang miners. Not sure what will happen, pero time will tell.
10152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top analyst warns a hard dump. on: February 05, 2020, 03:02:53 PM
the fact that news sites report them like this only shows that they have ran out of stuff to post and get traffic so they succumb to posting nonsense.

Welp, unfortunately it's safe to assume that those articles are what gets the clicks. I presume that these sort of nonsense price topics are what people share the most on social media, and, well, here. People sure do love speculating.
10153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [PSA] Fake Trezor wallet website on: February 05, 2020, 12:41:35 PM
I don’t know how many people fall for it (not many I guess),
Probably not a lot, but my guess that scammers are still doing this is simply because though the success rate is low, if they manage to trick someone, they could potentially get away with thousands to hundred thousands to millions. Basically it's somewhat like a lottery. Idunno.

put perhaps the card provided with the device should make it adamantly clear that they, as a company, will never ask you for your mnemonic (you know, in big bold red letters).
People don't like reading I guess.  Undecided
10154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [PSA] Fake Trezor wallet website on: February 05, 2020, 10:57:00 AM
These fake/phishing sites just keep popping out of nowhere don't they? Can anyone link me to a comprehensive list of fake Trezor wallet or other hardware wallet websites known to date? If there is none yet, I think there should be one. I would like to use it also and update a topic I made in our local board about crypto wallets.

While I don't know if such a list exists, I personally find it pointless. What people needs to know is that the only legitimate site is Trezor.io and nothing else. It's a lot easier that way. If we do have a list, it will endlessly be added up with so much scam sites as the scammers could just purchase new domains anyway every time their sites gets blocked/flagged. So yes, they would keep popping out out of nowhere.
10155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Please need advice about this project on: February 05, 2020, 09:00:53 AM
Not saying that this is a scam, but I really wouldn't put my money on platforms that are new or quite unknown. Though I'm personally against doing copy-trading on "social trading platforms" as I believe that everyone should do their own research and due diligence, if I were to use one, I'd go with eToro.com. They've been around for a while now and they're simply more reputable.
10156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accidently send USDT to ghost erc20 wallet ! on: February 05, 2020, 05:41:46 AM
Its Metamask. Thank you for your help ! Sad

To ensure the safety of your funds in the future:

  • Do a factory reset on your phone
  • Update your phone's Android/iOS version
  • Don't download random apps off the internet
  • If you're using Android, probably unroot your phone
  • After all these, create a new Ethereum wallet with a new set of private keys. Just to be sure as your older wallet's keys might have been exposed

Optional: purchase a hardware wallet if you got a good amount of money on BTC/ETH/ERC20 tokens.
10157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accidently send USDT to ghost erc20 wallet ! on: February 05, 2020, 05:34:55 AM
My phone got virus. I have couple check the address but them hacked in the core of app. Sad

What app were you using specifically? There's a chance that you probably downloaded a fraudulent app in the first place. One thing's for sure though, I suggest doing a factory reset with your phone, and update your Android/iOS version to the latest version for the security updates.
10158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [PSA] Fake Trezor wallet website on: February 05, 2020, 05:17:28 AM
Reporting to Google isn't always effective, they don't react always.

I think they do react, just not as fast as we wanted to. One thing's for sure though, it's going to need a good number of reports for Google to actually act upon it. Fortunately, reporting a site to Google only takes a few seconds so there's really nothing to lose by trying to report: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_general/
10159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accidently send USDT to ghost erc20 wallet ! on: February 05, 2020, 05:12:11 AM
Ghost wallet mean, Its no one owner that address. Im just copy wrong the charracter Sad

Then unfortunately your funds are gone. Sorry. Make sure to ALWAYS double and triple check addresses when you're sending funds to prevent issues like this. Hope you didn't lose that much.
10160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accidently send USDT to ghost erc20 wallet ! on: February 05, 2020, 05:05:18 AM
Not sure what you meant by "ghost erc20 wallet", but basically, if it's a wallet that you don't have access or the keys to, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do.
