Since this is not a fork, is this procedure still working if one moves, for precaution, his bitcoins away before this import?
I am asking because there were already wallets that were pretending to give fork coins and actually stole the bitcoins. And being closed source, the chances for this are high.

1. I think that I've already seen yesterday a thread on this. 2. The guy tells nothing new. It's known that panic selling is not good. I'd say that the guy just wanted his name in the news.

Ok this actually happens to my friend not so long ago, he is going on a boxing match and he will bet for the heavy favorite, then suddenly an unknown guy whisper to him, that the fight is going to be fixed and he supposedly heard it from the favorite to win, locker room, are you going to listen to that and bet for the underdog.
What's your take?
I would probably not bet at all on that match, not anymore. I would be mixed between my initial bet and the "new info" that could be real or fake.

I want to ask all of you, do you share or give very private things (private key, passphrase, password and else) of Bitcoin to your family? I ask like this because I think if something bad happens to us [...]
Since I am not young, I did try that. Just my wife didn't want to hear about it (something like if we talk about what to do in case of bad things is bad karma). So right now I don't have a good solution . The funds are not that big, so it's not a huge issue and I hope I'll handle it before Bitcoin reaches 250k USD

A cheap option could be an USB stick with Tails OS and Electrum. Afaik it goes to the internet through TOR.
It's not an online wallet (online wallets are neither safe, nor privacy oriented) and you'll need a computer or laptop that can boot from that stick. And you may need to update Electrum to the latest version, so tech background is needed.
If you don't have that tech background, Ledger or Trezor are your best options, really. With their apps or with Electrum.
Always make sure you save extra safe the seed.

It looks like a fight against spam indeed. And from what he wrote here he'll do quite a big cleanup task, reviewing the post history of all those users and banning the spammers.

Disappointment is related to unrealistic expectations. Bakkt effect on the market will be visible slowly, on long term.
Right now CME, BitMex and probably others too are the strong players. We don't know exactly why the price has fallen this much, hence we don't know how the price will move in the near future. However, don't count much on Bakkt to "save" the price. Not yet.
And also keep in mind that some months ago the price was 3-4k, so the current 8k clearly should not be seen as a disappointment.

i'm doing a exploit test for a guy and need help in receiving my btc,i'm getting error and my wallets keep disconecting ,paying in btc, monero or bat, contact me,telegram:@jonathAlmiz19
At some point there was an offer for "exploit test" on bitcointalk which smelled like a scam. And the one "performing the test" is the one to be scammed. I advise you give as many details as possible, maybe people will be able to help you. And yes, as said, move the thread to the technical area.

That's the spirit! A few good FOMO hours and it can meet even my 19197 bet!

I guess that if Bitcoin would be around ATH, OP would tell to buy. Late advises are like pissing against the wind. And the 2k prices "prediction" is in the range of usual trolling. So what's the usefulness of this thread? What if you are wrong OP?

It seems to bear market. Should I hold BTC now?
1. It's not a bear market. Maybe bear market will start after this, maybe not. We'll see. 2. We don't know what the future holds, but there are much more voices expecting a new ATH in 2019-2020 than a drop to 3k. 3. Please don't ask us to decide for you what to do with your money.

You can buy Bitcoin for USD in many places - Binance, Bitstamp, Coinbase ... the list of good exchanges is big You can convert Bitcoin into Doge at Binance, Bittrex and others.
Binance looks good since it's reputation is good and you should do both steps in the same exchange.
Having yourself such a marketplace... I don't know. Dogecoin is not such a wow as it was in... 2014. It's infinite supply doesn't make it a good investment and I think that the community is not as big as in its golden days. I don't know if the demand for such a service will allow you pay its maintenance.
Edit: I am 100% sure that in 2014-2015 there were a number of services where you could buy DOGE directly for USD. I don't know if any did survive. You should also check/ask in DOGE Reddit.

Hi there,
I would like to know if there were serious marketplaces or stocks exchanging Dogecoin to USD
The serious exchanges I know trade DOGE to BTC, USDT or ETH. I guess that you don't want the trades in 2 steps. I looked into https://www.worldcoinindex.com/coin/dogecoin/exchanges and I've seen a very few that show DOGE/USD pair, but I don't know them. If you want to research, it can be a start, but make sure the trading pairs are real (not outdated) and ask others about those exchanges before depositing.

O m g. This is the best recipe to fill your forum with copy-posts, low value talk and all kind of spam. I hope that you have a team that is able to clean up the mess before you'll pick a winner.

There are plenty of contests (almost) on daily basis on the gambling sites. A site known for being unfair will not clear its name with a contest with big prizes that is more likely to be fake than real.
Sorry OP, you'll get only bad feedback on this. I don't know if you are affiliated with them or only wanted extra cash from ref links, but you've picked the wrong casino.

I think Bitmex has nothing to do with it, it is unlikely that they are somehow connected with the fall in prices
Imho certain price drop has triggered a massive (stop loss) sell off at BitMex, causing the price drop become very big. However, the "BitMex has nothing to do with it" is off reality. Everything matters.

And considering the low volumes so far, it wasn't Bakkt traders who were driving the market down, but regular spot traders.
That's clear. It's BitMex that was driving the market down. But somehow the people were expecting Bakkt buy and buy, and rise the price. And this may not happen too soon. It was the market that "sold the news", not Bakkt.

There's TeamViewer, there's AnyDesk, there is a lot of software Google returns as alternative to teamviewer, but imho those pose a (bigger or smaller) security risk, although since you already use Windows, may have no issues with this risk. And there are the various flavors of VNC, where, since you install the server onto your windows, it should be safer (in theory).

I've bought in the past Bitcoin from ATM. And indeed, I was shocked by the fees. Unfortunately that stopped me from buying more.. then Bitcoin started rising and I've missed that train. It was in the days Bitcoin price was around 200-220$! Now I still think sometimes that I could have bought more, even with those high fees.
So ATMs can be good, although nowadays there are way more easy options to buy Bitcoin. And if their number grows, maybe we'll see competition and lower fees...
