1021  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Restriction on Registration/ Evil Fee on: September 01, 2023, 11:59:44 PM

The way you carry dey specific about this thing, e con be like say you don go the other continents for the world to try a registration too to know say, na only Africa e dey affect.
I know say na VPN dey give you this idea as you dey use countries from other continents to archive successful registration but you gats know say, VPN no dey only change your location,  e dey generate clean IP for you.

You fit still done move shah but for most, na VPN. I fit give you reasons why most times, e dey happen say, you go dey imposed to pay evil fee. Chief of them na em be the IP address wahala.
Mae we no forget say, our people too like Turkumbo these days and even VPN cef dey play role in this IP generations. If you get clean device and use in a first time, successful registration no far from you.

1023  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: HABITS THAT DEFINE AN AFRICAN: on: September 01, 2023, 11:46:43 PM
I see som familiar practices from my youth and omo, who ever gathered all these tried but could still have recount how much has changed. In recent time, a lot have been found to note nothing than just that and you can't as well say its practices that defines Africa. I think some other parts of the world had something similar and they still aren't defined by them.

Africans have adapted, have evolved to learn that, there isn't much in a chair except the Kings throne.
Counting meat you say... I think the only reason a patent would do that back the  was to ensure the child don't go seeking the pot for some meat protein. One means to deter the child from stealing from her pot.

Be it as it may, some of these practices shaped lives for better.
1024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am a new comer on: August 31, 2023, 11:58:26 PM
As interesting as you might have found it @OP I would say, you should find yourself some form of purpose or goal to push you towards doing better on the forum.
It’s a discussion platform where users are expected to share knowledge and what they have learnt over time, don’t be scared on your level of exposure not to share or ask questions on what interests you. There isn’t any dumb person in learning and even a newbie could teach what they are very much familiar with.
Be careful not to spread wrong information and always play by the forum rules as it’s one of the means to have a peaceful coexistence with the forum and its user.
Either as a guest or user, let your time here not be limited. Always come around and always update what you know by putting in as much effort to understand before moving on.

Welcome aboard.
1025  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A good way to help our children. on: August 31, 2023, 11:53:20 PM
I feel a good way to help a child is to allow him live his childhood, as time goes on he'd be taught financial independence and the value of money. Call me pessimistic but do not be surprised that Bitcoin might not be the wave during their time, probably something else.

The world has come to a point where we understand the need to let kids have to choose what way they would go or wish yo do things. Still, there are ways to influence decision to make people have to make your kids take decisions that you want them to take and have them have the impression of it’s their decision.
It plays around with the things they are exposed to at an early age and over the years of their life. Present to them a certain familiarity and they tend to be way too familiar about this thing to a point, they believe it’s the one thing they are good at and could best to go with.

That bitcoin could turn out not to be a thing of there time,
Well, even with all the waves as we have it now, it’s not the wave of our time yet. Still, I have a part of me that tells me, it could be a thing of there time and you would be doing them a lot of good in the things you make ready for them at this stage.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Machine Learning and Bitcoin on: August 31, 2023, 11:37:52 PM
In terms of anonymity within the Bitcoin blockchain, Machine learning can be used to track down transactions for fraudulent services and possibly help control the illegal activities transacted through bitcoin?

What are your thoughts on the growth of these "technologies" ?
How do you propose that to happen?
Having AI predict what could be a fraudulent transaction and what isn’t simply by following the addresses?

Well, it’s good to know that, there are mixers today and having these links eliminated or out of existence is as easy as few minutes or days for those who wish or want more privacy.

While you think that possible with machine learning and crypto integration, it’s been tested in other aspects such as trading and still is but, isn’t yielding much better results. Machines can help you better to keep up tab with the trades as they could aid you as notifiers of certain points to trading but, not overly an accurate predictor of what could be.
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency restrictions in some countries is a blessing in disguise. on: August 31, 2023, 11:20:41 PM
Bitcoin has been known to take every negativity towards it for some sort of publicity campaign and this isn’t solely about Nigeria but, the globe. In other to spread negativity, you’ve got to spread the word out on bitcoin and that’s just what the innovations need. Some means to let people know of its existence and you can trust on intellectual forks to go the length in finding out more about this innovation and just as they are met with the bad, surely they would establish truth at some point and the coin gets more investors.

In another scenario, it could create a panic sell situation for weak hands, there by creating a perfect buy condition with a slight change in price towards the bears and that’s very much a viable condition for those looking to invest too.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After all these years on: August 30, 2023, 09:47:08 PM
XRP for example and few others are partnering with banks for international transactions, if seems that these projects are 100 times closer to been a daily payment system than Bitcoin and this saddens me.

I am feeling like the majority of people are still going to prefer to spend more money on transaction fee through payment solutions that involves banks, locally and internationally, I seems like Bitcoin transaction are going to keep happening around Bitcoin OGs and those who are into Bitcoin only.
When I hear about high fees, at times I get to ask just how much fee is been spent on transacting bitcoin and in most cases, its ways minute. A little more than  one would spend on gas to get to a bank, go through the rigorous process of filling forms, file them appropriately and send some payment to someone at the other end of the globe.
At the moment, the challenge with bitcoin  remains volatility as this affects other aspects to it being, network congestion as, it could create more buy or sell situations which consequently reflects in the fees but still, the fee is something that could be contained with when we scale the volume and purpose of the transaction.

Bitcoin isn't here to out traditional faith banking systems as well as how we buy and sell everyday products/services but to provide alternatives.
1029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin achievement on: August 30, 2023, 09:36:30 PM
Guess what, ever since my friend introduced me to Bitcoin and I invested on it, things have never remain the same with me. investing in Bitcoin have given me what I could imagine to achieve in short period of time.
(1) I live alone in the house. but now, I have wife and children.
(2) I was living in a rented apartment. but now, I live in my own house.
(3)  I was tricking to places. but now, Bitcoin have giving me a car.
(4) before I don't have any source of income. but now, Bitcoin is my source of income.
The story seems too good to be true for someone who had apparently nothing but you never said you had nothing though and over the course of time you've referred, that's a little up to 6years and bitcoin have come a long way through those times. Its that in mind, not having the necessary experience or sources of income to back your patience with your bitcoin investment could easily lead to you not arching as said with the investment.
Back in 2017, bitcoin was at the bears and the year started kicking with price at around $965 and later hit a high at around $19.8k. That's some significant difference looking at barely a $1000 to where price later got go settle at for an ATH that year and now, the ATH is established around $68.7k although the current price is at $27.2k.

So yeh, I could agree that one could archive much from that and to have invested a whole bitcoin in 2017, that makes it even the more possible but, vat say you don't have to withdraw in-between or having to add to your portfolio but all the same, you've done good for yoursd and I'll also recommend you don't make it your only source of income.
Diversify into something else while, keeping your bitcoin portfolio and even adding to it.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gifting satoshis to future generations on: August 30, 2023, 09:01:56 PM
He answered in the thread:

Hello, the author of the article here.

As far as I know Federico is not really active here, but you can try to summon him. Maybe he will be notified somehow.
Even more if the question is relevant!
Not really is the word as I could see that he posted once this year as far back as February but has been gone since then, perhaps follows tbe forum passively as a guest.

Yet again, it was a carefully thought through plan that had a the right considerations and the course of execution is maintained in the hands of the parent or guardian of the child. Let's hope they don't try to be funny with it by accessing it themselves before the expected 18year time frame on any course.

It's no new news that the course to bitcoin and its keywords seed phrase safety have been met with several views on what could be considered best and somehow, we could only hope but, the fast pace at which technology continues to advance from micro to nano and now simbless devices are been produced, 18years seems like a far distant time for the establishment of gaps between today existing  innovations but then, it wouldn't much on the importation of wallets so, I still see the move to be potent.
1031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will the bitcoiners realize bitcoin is just fiat with enforced tax on: August 30, 2023, 07:41:23 PM
When will the bitcoiners realize bitcoin is just fiat with more steps on a transparent ledger with enforced tax aka network fee. When your nation legalizes it like canada you will pay network fee and tax on top, such wow.
Well, your entitled to your opinion and that doesn't make you right!

I would have liked to have a good read on what your trying to imply on the Canada theory to it. If you just might provide a written document or link that sides the message your trying to relay with Canada, it would be nice.

Meanwhile, bitcoin has got nothing yo do with fiat or having it been involved in any for of taxation. On like tax where you get to pay a certain amount based in what you earn, you pay nothing for earning bitcoin and the only time you get to be charged a fee is when your transacting.
Still, it doenst count as tax as they both come by different definitions.
Fees on taking up a transaction varies based on the mempool congestion and as such,  a particular mount could have more or less fee but, it ain't the same with tax. It's always the same everytime.

It's okay with you having your thought and contradictory opinion but, hope you get exposed to lots of information here and actually make sense out of them.
1032  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop loss on: August 29, 2023, 11:57:04 PM
Therefore, to resolve this, and if you are using the Binance platform to trade, there is a button that Binance added to their trading platform to solve this problem which is called price protection, This prevents your stop-loss and take-profit setup from going way above the set price level,  you can make use of it by switching on.
The price protection feature is every trader wanting to use a trading platform should ensure that the platform has so that they can be protected from severe market movements and conditions. If a trading platform you want to use do not have the feature, it will be good that you look to use another trading platform to avoid slippage. Price protection feature is not only good for people who just started trading, it is also good for the long time traders who already have market experience.
Stop lose and take profits is an initiative put in place to ensure you aren’t going above your trading plans as this aids you to keep yourself in check even in the event that your not focused on the charts which is presumably a bad idea and a very exhausting activity to carry out. The stop lose and take profit jumps into swift action to keep you off unendurable loose or safe guide you against your own greed in the event of making profit.
This makes it an awesome tool to be used by not just beginner but experienced traders to push where the instincts don’t let you.

Still, there are those who don’t or don’t let the activations do its job. It’s bad practice that develops into an uncontrollable behavior. You ought to be comfortable about the speculations from an analysis especially when it’s good then, you let the tools do it’s job.
1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin movement: my thought on: August 29, 2023, 11:49:46 PM
I just thought of this, and I want you to view it from your own perspective. As everyone hopes that more people get to believe and use bitcoins, I think bitcoins can gain more new users on a large scale if anyone (whales ) can place their advert through a popular football club just as some companies do sponsor  football league. I think this will send a strong message to billions of people across the world who do know but does not embrace Bitcoin usage.
Let me site another example, let's take for instance, a club announces that they  will pay their players in BTC. This news can also help people adopt BTC.
Do you think some of these have not been done?
Like I recall when some of the musicians wanted there shows paid for using bitcoin. I could recall snoop dog at a time. I had rumors of 50cent and even some basketball stars sorting out the option, at least a part of their earnings be paid in bitcoin. Surely it did trend for a while but then, away it went (@ the trend).
No doubt it pooled in some investors but still, we are where we are now.

Hence, even having bitcoin sampled on a billboard won’t change much. It’s already being done by the many casinos with football clubs sponsorship deals. The word out is how they use bitcoin in placing bets on their platform. Watford FC had it on their Jersey at a time but still, we are where we are.

There isn’t going to be any swift pace and nothing would promote bitcoin more than the bullrun so, just seat back and watch the times unfold.
1034  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: August 29, 2023, 09:51:34 PM
What kind of people are capable of market manipulation?
When it comes to centralized systems, then you can talk about market manipulations. This is very common with the government in handling fiat. They instill in the systems the conditions they need functional by simply pumping in more fiat currencies or reducing the amount in circulation. It’s a manipulation done by affecting the lack or availability of a commodity.

It’s almost the same thing when it comes to cryptocurrencies that are centralized but this ain’t the case with bitcoin. Bitcoin is decentralized and as such, no one holds that much power to create these conditions but then, institutions with large hodlings could mimic what is obtainable in centralized systems by flooding the market with more coins but it always ain’t enough until the masses join in.

Soon, you would find the coin recovering. It’s just how it works.
1035  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.Game-🔴🔴🔴BET RED IN CRASH!🔴🔴🔴 Find More Unique Games! on: August 29, 2023, 09:05:47 AM
Hi bc.game, the 2FA is active in my account, i have open a ticket with my issue, i sent many emails, my User ID: 6103157
Anyway i do not play here anymore.
What could you be doing wrong @Braila,
I just went through your posts and it appears you’re having an issue with almost every gaming site on the forum. I could find sportsbet.io, betcoin.ag, BookiePro.fun, just name them. Don’t that make you a little curious as to what could you be doing wrong? Sometimes when things go wrong, before blaming others or labeling a site,
Ask yourself if others are having this challenges…?
When it’s more frequent at your end,
Ask yourself what could you be doing wrong…?

Fine these answers and solve your issue. Your account got hacked, it could be because your device might be compromised. Night is what I said and with the level and scheme hackers/scammers have got, they can even have a bug on your device that gives updates on your activities. 2FA wouldn’t save you much at that point as all you do is mirrored with them. The closest 2FA could do for you is the awareness but, of course, they could join mails or create alternative mails and what have you to still be affiliated.

Check yourself mate.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How late is too late to place a bet for a gambler? on: August 29, 2023, 07:59:38 AM
The gambling industry has grown so advanced to give users just about any market you can think of. Sometimes, they have this options off the boards deliberately for being too simple or easy and at other times, they affix it an odd that is next to nothing.

So that gamblers don’t get to miss a chance at gambling, they’ve created a live session where gamblers can bet on games that have already kicked off or have gone live. All that in a bid to keep the game rolling and the best coming in.

You’re never late on gambling if you want to play, so long as the game is still on and the market are out, you’re good to play. Where it would be affected it’s the odds that would be given and that could go either ways, maybe a high odd or a low odd depending on what time is left and the chances of the market playing out based on how the game has been going.

The only time you could be late on gambling is, when the market of interest is already materialized in the game or it’s barely a minute or something closed to that on closure. Of course, that’s dependent on what sport and how much time and what value of time is to the game.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 29, 2023, 07:35:42 AM
I'm thinking of kneejerking Bowen as captain next week against Luton.
Yeah, Bowen can go. His being phenomenal for his team through last the course of last season and you could tell his got his belly fired up for this season as well. If you ain’t hoping on Halaand to score a brace or a hat-trick, it wouldn’t make a lot of difference having K. Bowen as your captain in contrast to E. Halaand. Besides, we can all tell E. Halaand is having a lot of struggles getting the balls at the moment, to a point he even missed a penalty, that’s how it’s the game is played on his subconsciousness and the many defense line mounted on him. Though it might help the team like Harkorede stated but, the team isn’t what we are after in FPL is it? No.

Bowen still a good choice but, can’t say if his the best choice. Either ways, both remains promising.
1038  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: WHICH WAY NIGERIA? on: August 28, 2023, 11:57:28 PM
It’s a lively piece OP but, I must comment on certain pointers that don’t seem so accurate. One of those is the issue raised on taxation. The direct tax system within the country is more applicable to those within the Civil service and institutions. It’s almost impossible to taxes the rest of the citizens directly so a more different approach is used and that’ll be the indirect system to taxation in the form of Value Added Taxes (VAT).

Still, Nigerians are very easy to govern because we still believe in trying again despite the hardship we face but, is this really going to solve it without taking the bull by the horn? Even a newly elect with good plans have his plans choked by the thorns that already exists within the system. It’s a real problem that needed be tended not gently but with sharp edges and fire.

Long as the fabric been rented and a new weave is most desirable. I don’t know how the people who have made things bad still be in governance within a new system and still, we hope to see better results, it won’t work! The old has to go.
1039  Economy / Economics / Re: Having a problem a Personal Finance? on: August 27, 2023, 11:35:39 PM
For a moment I almost took OP for a multinational speaker or someone who was out there to sell a product. I was just waiting in the moment when OP would say, here is all your solution packed in one miracle product or project. Good thought that isn’t the case.

Still, means to finance handling is a huge problem to most, some employ the services of accountants and financial advisers while other who can’t o afford to employ one or just don’t see the need try to do them themselves and if you look at it, it’s doable.
It’s a matter of your person and how you’re able to prioritize your needs and won’t in respect to what’s the best time to go into certain acquisition of property, an investment and certain spending. Money diminishes and you’ve got to know that money not invested is practically money lost to a purpose and it ain’t coming back.
That helps you to define just how to go about your fund appropriation.
1040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When to invest in bitcoin on: August 27, 2023, 10:37:55 PM
And I find out that the perfect time a newbie can invest  in bitcoin  is when the price  of bitcoin  is in bear market, like some weeks ago bitcoin drop a different in the market price and its very nice opportunity for short term investors to buy and keep and be ready to sell when the market rise. I was willing to buy bitcoin immediately the price drop but the challenge i have them was I'm  not with cash, but I will be waiting until the price fall again, and if it fall again I will not miss the opportunity of buying bitcoin and keep for long term investment
Some ideas that has lead many yo never getting to invest in bitcoin is,

The idea of a short term investment where you hope to buy and hold for few days or weeks and perhaps few months let’s say 4-6 months and expect the profits to start pouring in. It often turns out to be some bad idea as, you might get disappointed in the long run. Given that, the level of speculation one can have on bitcoin is one that comes without any guarantee as price might circulate about a region for more time than anticipated and that would promote the wrong idea within an individual. The idea of short term investment is one that pushes people to borrow to invest or redirect money meant for some project for bitcoin investments and you could end up being disappointed.

Long term investments always serves you better and it often breaks the barrier of having a predetermined time to take profit off your investment. Also, using DCA to invest ensures you don’t get to procrastinate on your investment choices as there isn’t a specific time to bitcoin investment. What you consider bear or low today was once a bullish trend in time past. That’s how dynamic the market is.
