1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 01, 2022, 08:24:31 PM
Tomorrow 13 games. Trail Blazers will play again and now it's versus the LA Lakers. High chance the Lakers will get the W here in a blowout game.

That is a lot of games again. I like it when there are lots of game, plenty of games to bet on.

The Lakers will need that win against Portland tomorrow because after that they will be on the road against 500 teams in the east. If they do not win it, they will be on a long losing streak again. I think their next 5 games are against 500 teams.

The next 10 games for the Lakers would be a tough one as they will once again face those teams above .500 just like how they started the season. Somehow, I've seen a better improvements and a good bounce back tonight against the Blazers. I thought they're gonna blow out another huge lead again.

I looked up on their upcoming games and just like you said, they will be having tough games until next month. The Charlotte Hornets is only the team that I can see that they won't have much hard time playing with but before that, they will have to endure a lot of tests to see if they are indeed improving this year or they are much worse than last season. Their game earlier wasn't that hard because Lillard wasn't there, they just had a nice game before the tough games ahead.

they need to keep winning and keep finding the right sets of players that will help LeBron and Davis to win the game, we see the contriutons of their role palyers.

I can say that they are getting some improvements, and if they will continue playing like this
the winning chance is possible even facing tough teams.

Adjustment and willingness to work with the system that may fit them all to play as one.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 30, 2022, 06:47:56 AM
Lemme just answer from the title first, I can't risk to lose $350k just a friend and for what reason would I have wasted such opportunity if it happens i came across it. If I could have such a friend who would take me backward then no need to have them around.

you must have misread the OP. he didn't actually lose $350k. it was the possible money that could have been won if a friend didn't take the money on the table.

but this is just a scene on a movie. and he asked away if what we'd do if it happens to us. but either way, losing $350k in 2022 will give you a heart attack.

probably the only case in which somebody wouldn't be really pissed for losing 350k usd is on these cases of people who have more than 20 million usd, and even in these cases

of course there are several situations
losing by risking it in an endeavor is really different than losing it because of a friend

On your statement, only people who have flowing money can endure that amount, but if you are not that kind or you are not a rich gambler, that amount is too much for you to lose.

Though it isn't near to any reality when someone is playing or inside a gambling house, most of them
don't want to be bothered by anyone. Most of them will choose to play quietly as they are focusing
in finding ways to win against the house.
1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bad beginning for crypto beginners. on: November 30, 2022, 06:17:08 AM
But that only happens if that person corrects his mistake and finds a way not to happen again. Because what I see is that many people still don't do it, they just ignore their mistakes and do it repeatedly, and no wonder why they keep on losing. And much more not to expect success from them.
If we wanted to reach our goal, therefore, we also have to change our approach toward our mistakes and consider this as a helping tool to improve our status rather than just ignore them.
Those who ignore past mistakes never learn how to avoid making the same mistakes. Such people will never succeed anywhere. including in crypto. they are so focused on profit that they ignore the important things so they don't get stuck in the same hole.

They will continue to do the same mistake since they are just aiming for a quick gain, more on luck base trades rather than equipping their investment with good knowledge and understanding.

Yes, you are right that most of the time they will just lose their money and with the same
pattern of investment/trading the chance of making more mistake is very possible, nothing
will change not unless they will learn and they will try to re-assess the system that they are
using, from that, they will be able to adjust and change the way they invest.

Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors (11-10) will meet the Dallas Mavericks (9-10) today at American Airlines Center. There is no injuries on both parties. GSW is favorite @1.82 and Dallas @2.04.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Los Angeles Clippers

The Portland Trail Blazers (11-9) will face the Los Angeles Clippers (12-9) today. The Clippers will be playing without their superstars Kawhi (ankle), John Wall (Knee) and Paul George (hamstring). Portland is favorite @1.61 and Clippers @2.39

Detriot Pistons vs New York Knicks

The New York Knicks (9-11) will face the Detriot Pistons (5-17) at Little Caesars Arena. Knicks key injuries are Immanuel Quickley (knee). Pistons key injuries are Marvin Bagley III (illness), Bojan Bogdanovic (knee/ankle), Cade Cunningham (shin) and Jaden Ivey (knee). The Pistons are underdog @2.65 and Knicks favored @1.51.

A very close game between GSW and the Mavs, but it was the Mavs who win the game with Luka's another monster performance,
41 points with 12 rebs and 12 asst.

Though Warriors keep tailing them and never to allow that they will be left behind after that
2nd quarter rally, I'm pretty sure that fans really enjoy the game as both teams are, really
competing a good preview of possible playoff matchup.
1025  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lay off vs Pay cut on: November 30, 2022, 05:10:49 AM
If you are living in a country with a stable economy and finding a new job will not be too difficult, of course we will choose the second option, which is to quit. But if you're living in a country with unemployment, and companies constantly laying off employees because they're struggling in times of crisis, then I don't think we have a choice here.
You are lucky to still have a stable job with a decent income, but in many other places unemployment is increasing, it is almost impossible to find a job, most people choose to move back to their hometown because they can't find a job.
I'll also have no choice but to take the pay cut since I've tried to applied in so many companies but even getting an interview is hard to get. That's why right now I'm trying to learn some new skills so that myself is more marketable to these companies.

But for those people living in a country that has a lot of opportunities, choose to be laid off and find a better job. That's the most ideal thing to do if you have a choice to make.

If you have other options then why not, but most of the time people will choose to take the otherside knowing that opportunities are not wuit that much for them.

They will accept the pay-cut off to continue leaving with food in their plates, while others will
explore and see if how they can land a new job that will suits to thier skills or some are exploring
to a new one just to fill the needs of the family.

Given the current economic situation, I guess we won't have a choice. In case if I don't have a family, without thinking, I will choose the second option and leave the company immediately. But if you are a married person, quitting your job and waiting to be accepted into a new job is really difficult to choose and there is no guarantee that the new job will bring a higher salary. Don't forget that a bad economy means all companies are in the same predicament. I want to say that the choice is up to each person's situation, no one is the same.

That's also my point. Staying in the same company with a pay cut-off in some people is not an option but a force obligation due to their needs. Like you, your family needs your salary for your expenses.

You can't gamble to move away as you don't have assurance that you can easily land a job,
it's your only option to continue surviving. Maybe if the growing economy start to show good
recovery and there are many available jobs that might be the time for you to start finding and
land the suit job for you.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 29, 2022, 07:27:07 PM
Might be better if we have a poll OP?

This discussions has turned into animal cruelty vs gamblers who doesn't mind animals being involved for such games.

Like in your case, it seems that its already part of your culture and customs and yet it is being criticized here. So I'm just interested on the numbers, who favors who in this kind of argument.
yes there are some cultures that are still thick with animal cruelty but besides that all of us in this forum have to respect their culture if we want to be respected, to be honest it's not a gambling game that I want because I'm not someone who likes to kill animals just to bet on gambling, so this discussion will be very long to discuss because it all depends on the point of view of different communities

after all it seems no casino is too keen on the idea of creating gambling that features animal cruelty

Got that point, a valid opinion that there are differences among us here. Maybe it will be on your own take if how will you prefer whether you will not engage if chances permit that you have that kind of gambling from where you are.

It's your decision and if others are willing to gamble, then, like what you said, let them or so be it.
Nothing will change for now, as there are countries who still allow this kind of gambling and I like
the idea that there's no gambling website or major website that cater this kind of gambling.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 29, 2022, 07:13:03 PM
Could be a win win for the Mavs and Kemba. I think Kemba can still play, he just need a team that will bring him the confidence that he had.

We know that his injury really ruined his career now, but this is his second chance and hopefully he can at least contribute 20 minutes a game and have like 10+ ppg and assists which is very important as Luka is struggling and so is the rest of the team.

This is definitely good news for Kemba Walker, but it's not good news for Facundo Campazzo because the Mavs decided to waive him ahead of Kemba's signing. In any case, it's great that Kemba had the opportunity to return to the NBA, though it's unlikely that he'll return to his former playing shape. However, I think he can be very useful to the Mavs as a sixth player.
Yes, we forget about Facundo Campazzo, I mean he was a great contributor in the team, so I was surprised that we was waved by the Mavs team specially that they don't have Brunson who left for the Knicks.

Yes, this is a opportunity for the seasoned Kemba Walker to play again in NBA. When he was in his prime in Charlotte, he was really a fan favorite because of his cross over moves. But when he got traded he has been on a difficult journey jumping from one team to another. Specially in the Celtics uniform wherein we thought that he can compliment Tatum and Smart and Jalen Brown.

It was a given opportunity for Kemba, and he needed to show something here if he really wanted to make a good comeback. Still have the game but he needs to have more exposures a good timing since Luka needs additional scorer.

Kemba's game style might be fits for the Mavs, he's a natural scorer and if Luka will allow him
the way he allows Brunson's before, it will be a good combination for the Mavs, though still on
coach Kidd's calls if he will use both or he will bring Kemba as good backup for Luka when he
need some rest.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bad beginning for crypto beginners. on: November 28, 2022, 11:00:30 AM
Most beginners who invest in cryptocurrencies hear success stories from other people, in 2014 I was also tempted to mine but I had no capital and was planning to sell my house, unfortunately I was given advice that this was risky, but if I continued mining at that time then I can be rich because mining at that time was very profitable.
So what happened to you now? Broke or success?

Anyways, it is really great to hear successful stories in crypto but all of these things never happen instantly. We also have heard that these people face difficulties and lose a lot of money as well before they got where they are now. So if you will say that if you proceed to mining, we never know as well if you also succeed. Imagine, a lot of people doing mining, investing a huge amount but unfortunately, not all of them reach their goal.

Indeed, right, not all who invested a huge amount of money for mining tools/equipments manage to make a decent amount of money some may break-even while others really got disappointed and quit without anything.

You can make money if you fully understand the process, if you are ready and willing to take
all the risks. From that start, you might develop the right attitude to continue achieving your goals.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 28, 2022, 12:23:31 AM
We are in the 21st century and there are so many legitimate ways to make money, even in gambling, there are several games around to make money from, why do we still have to abuse animals all in the name of making money?

You can't apply and forces that view of yours on other countries as it's hard to abolish something like classical gambling that is already part of the culture of a certain country. Others might don't like cockfighting because of animal cruelty but didn't you know that all cocks here are being spent wit lots of money just to become healthy on the day of their match.

Take it or leave it. We have to respect those countries that still patronize that kind of game.

An old tradition which also been legalized from some places in a small third world country, it's hard to remove that old culture where the enjoyment has been part of this kind of gambling.

I understand the point about animal cruelty but for those who are engaged in this culture
they only understand what they've believed. It's tough for them to change as they will continue
to participate and keep betting on this kind of gambling.

Toronto Raptors VS Dallas Mavericks SCORE 105 - 100 - LOST

I really thought that the Dallas Mavericks would win this because at 1st they are getting a significant score lead but as the game progressed the Raptors advanced significantly and because of that their momentum turned the tables it was a quick recovery for the Raptors to get their lead change, it was really unexpected but Luka Doncic didn't even heat up in this game,

Although not on his usual numbers, Luka Doncic's production on that game is just fine for me. The problem here is not him not firing up much on that game but he really needs a boost from his teammates. Although some step up on that game, consistency is really the problem if we looked at the long-term.

With that loss against the Raptors, Dallas is now 0-4 this season when Luka scores less than 25 points. That was really a big issue that they need to address as we can't expect Luka to average 25PPG the whole season although he can.

Will stay away for now from the Mavericks' Moneyline and +6 spread on their upcoming game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Road games are currently tough for the Mavericks winning just 1 out of 6 road games even Luka is averaging 30+ points on those road games they lose.

Luka needs the help that he can get from his teammates, yeah we know that he can produce decent stats but the help would be the big factor in each game that they'll going to win.

They needed to address the productions of all the role players, unlike last season where Brunson
was there to help to lift the team when Luka needed him.

Now, they need someone to play on Brunson's shoes, a player who can step up when Luka is not
on his usual game.

Beginners with mindset of taking crypto as job opportunity:  some beginners thinks crypto can cover up the space of getting  a job. It is wrong to plan of making cryptocurrency a source of income as a beginner.  It is important to have emergency fund while Investing in crypto.
Beginners are very easily tempted to be able to profit from cryptocurrency because they see crypto prices when they have soared. They assume that crypto can be relied upon as a source of income because it can be traded easily but do not understand the risks. And on the bad side, beginners expect quick profits from crypto by putting in the main money they have in the hope that their profits will double and they think crypto can easily get money back from the initial capital issued

Without proper knowledge, crypto is not the venue for those who thinks that it will be easy to make money when you invest to this market, the alluring promises is just  a word.

But in reality, there are many newcomers who lost their hard earned money, most are from
scam projects who promises huge and quick outcome. They are all victims of wrong impression
that crypto market is a safe haven for quick to rich schemes.
1033  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: November 27, 2022, 09:21:32 PM

The best way to become rich is to do business and let money works for you. Being an employee is also good but if you want more success, then go for creating business and take the risk, it may not be easy at first but once you already know how to manage it, you can be good.

No doubt that business people are the must successful people even if you look at the top ten richest individuals in the world but they acquired training or knowledge and the ones that have no adequate knowledge will take more time to get where he or she is going because along the line the knowledge will be needed. They say it is a wise person that learns from others mistake.

Knowledge creates new ideas that will surpass the current success of others, and wise person knows how to keep  enhancing their opportunities, a good example is to keep expanding your business.

Not just to dwel with a single successful business but to established more business
that will support your existing one.

A kind of mentalities that keeps the rich to become more richer a never ending cycle
that they continue to dominates.
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins worth investing at dip on: November 26, 2022, 07:43:25 PM
Right, now is a good time to buy, we can get a cheap price and this is the beginning of a good investment because buying cheap and then sells at high prices, many choices of altcoins that have great potential will skyrocket like Shiba, Doge, Matic, and so on .
It is true that it is the right time to buy during this bearish market. But you must be careful to choose coins, not all coins are safe enough to buy and to hold for several years. Top altcoins like ETH, BNB, ADA, MATIC, or DOT are good options but meme coins like Shiba or Doge seem too risky to hold for a long time. You only can buy Shiba or Doge if you know well how to deal with pump-dump schemes. I assume those meme coins are only created to be pumped and dumped by spreading the hype like what Elon Musk did. If you didn't understand about it, you only gamble with holding meme coins.

You need to balance your assessment and keep observing with project/s that you are thinking to buy and hold. There are many good assets that are still far from the last ATH.

You can review every coin and see how they cope up during the last bear season,
get some idea if they are still in the process of continuous development and how
the community around the project is doing, better to have support from the investors
and if they have that, it's a good catch to buy and store.
1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bearish market the right time to buy coins? on: November 26, 2022, 05:03:52 PM
One of the most important things on any business or even just living with your life is to be versatile and easily able to adapt on whats happening around your surrounding or things that you are involved

into, on which you can easily find ways and adjustments whenever there are changes and this is really that important for this unpredictable market also which price do change up on
fastest manner due to volatility and this is what makes hard for it to be predicted on where price could go.

Is this the best time to buy? It would always fall down into someones decision whether it is really worth to take risk on getting in or not.
Markets require traders to be incredibly flexible in their thinking, before the collapse of the FTX exchange it seemed as if we were going to experiment a small recovery, so it made sense for traders to be bullish at the time, however once it was confirmed the FTX exchange had liquidity problems that should have been a clear signal the bullish sentiment was over and you needed to change your approach to the market, those who could adjust quickly made money while those that were too slow lost money and in some cases they lost everything.

That assessment was right, those who managed to understand that market movement quickly sell while that small pump happened then wait for a while with FTX confirmation the market dumped down.

They just waited for another momentum and a good sign before buying back then right after
that CZ save the day and start bringing money to recover. A quick act and adjustment makes
those traders enjoy decent benefits.

We missed seeing Lebron on the field. After failing to play a few games, he performed well as if he had never been injured. Anthony Davis also played well and they were able to win this match.
The Lakers continue to play better every day. Westbrook also managed to be included in the team with his assists and had an impact on the victory Cheesy

Lebron's return is always a good thing for the Lakers, and he already contributed to the victory over the Spurs by scoring 21 points. However, it's worth noting that he also had 9 turnovers in that game, and that's mildly awful. It's obvious he will need some more time to fully adapt and return to his game shape, given that he has missed quite a lot of games due to injury.

LeBron help the Lakers winning the game even he just came from an injury he make sure that his comeback will be a win for his team
not saying that they are playing against an underdog, but it's a good start for him.

He just need to keep doing his best to help and make them be more competitive
they are still not in the level where the dominance is being felt, we will see improvement
when they face super-teams and they'll beat their ass.
1037  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: November 26, 2022, 05:50:54 AM
I'll choose to be a business owner because I'm thinking of that I can help genuinely those that deserves it and are hardworking. So, it's a give and take situation for me and those that I will employ if ever I'll have a big business.

I'm planning to have one but sometimes it's making me think if I can make it. I'm not afraid of risks but I'm afraid of failure but also, it's making me realize that I can just restart if the business I started has failed and just go back to employment.
I have always wanted to become a business owner from the start but seems my experience is not good enough so I would want to start as an employee at first and gained all the insights needed to grow a business. Because I believe once you build your own business, big capital is not enough, you also have a good knowledge and skills on the business you are building as to have higher assurance for that business to succeed.
Well, everyone starts with nothing and as in zero to begin with.

I've made a lot of business before and most of them are like small enterprises but still even with experience, it's really a thing because I feel that I have a low self steem.

And that is because I'm always thinking the challenges in the first place. It's the main reason even if I've done a lot of failures, still, that feeling of failing isn't removed on me.

A part of yourself that you needed to overcome when engaging in any business. Don't be afraid of losing, but make sure that you
will learn something out from any mistake that you encountered.

Determination will help you to step forward even it's just a little step one a time
the important thing is you are progressive, maybe it's not time yet or you still not
finding the right business that suits and fits to your skills.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: November 25, 2022, 06:05:05 PM
I seldom see something like this

Beterbiev by KO/TKO   - 13 (100%)
Beterbiev by decision   - 0 (0%)
Yarde by KO   - 0 (0%)
Yarde by decision   - 0 (0%)
Draw   - 0 (0%)

but with this specific fight, this is 100% possible, a guy with a 100% knockout percentage against a guy who got knocked out from an aging warrior and with a jab to deliver it, Yarde talks about how things change and he is not the same Yarde that fought Kovalev, but what's the difference, he will still get busted.
s

Or simply that the boxing fans knows that Beterviev will continue with his reign of terror, perfect record with all of them by KO/TKO. So most likely this will be the case against his fight with Anthony Yarde. Although as we have said, Yarde just won his tune up fight, but he still has a lot to look forward on how he will beat a guy like Arthur Beterviev.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8B9s9z4OFE

Just watch his highlights, his jabs and then follow up with a huge knock out punch.

Watching Artur Beterbiev's highlights again reminds me how terror this man can be when it comes to tormenting the boxers in the light-heavyweight division. His punches are sure so sticky that it will always find its way to pierce through his opponents defense and leaves them helpless for the follow-up punch. And not just that, he seems to like a toe-to-toe punches and exchanging heavy blows until one of them gets down. Anthony Yarde should be prepared at all cost in this fight if he wanted to survive.

Better to keep watching those old tapes and examine all the potential lapses if ever that there are something that he can find, Yarde need to work it out and find the best strategy to execute when engaging with Beterbiev.

Else, he will suffer the same fat with all those past opponents who did try to removing the
belt with Beteviev, if he wanted to push his career on top better to look for good strategy
that may allow him to snatch a win against the champ.

Jazz have lost two matches in a row. Before that, they were showing positive performances. I know some of the matches they've played have been really close. But they did get the result in their favor. From the next game on, I hope they will be able to perform better.

I was disappointed with their game against the Pistons, they should win that game but we didn't see that because what happened was the opposite. I don't know if their method was already exposed, or they are just not making an adjustment in the game. Clarkson was still the best score in that game but their big man wasn't so efficient that time, hopefully, they'll bounce back in their next game.

Next game will be up against the Warriors, that's surely a tough one for them, but upsets are possible.

That's a big test for the Jazz, it will be their 3rd losing streak if they will lose this game. The warriors are 8-1 at home and they have a good rest before this game, so this should be fun as we all know that Jazz is a very surprising team. I like the Warriors but I'm thinking of taking the Jazz ML, just for fun.

If you are a fan of risking for much better odd, then taking Jazz for your pick would give you a decent one. ML will surely attract you, though, just like what you also mentioned, Warriors is 8-1 playing at home.

Something that also needed to analyze Warriors win their last game at home as they
didn't give any chance for Clippers to snatch the game away from them.
1040  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: November 25, 2022, 10:37:31 AM
I think all the people want to become a business owner because they think this is where they can attain freedom. There will be no boss that will dictate them anymore. No more long hours of work but the working time can depend on you though I think some business owners can work for a more longer hours than compare to what the regular employees are doing.

This is because they want only the best for their business. Every time and effort that they spent in their business is beneficial to them but as an employee that's not the case as many employers didn't really appreciate the hard work of their employees but they only care about their business.

Business owners who wanted to keep succeeding will continue to work long hours to attain more success. We do understand that in each success story, there are stories behind.

Who never wants to be a boss, right? But before you can become one, you need to work
harder than an employee can do.

Taking a long time to find ways and make sure that you are doing the right thing for your
