2FA makes your account safer. It's easier to steal a static password (phishing) than also steal the 2FA key. Disadvantage - if your phone is lost, stolen or at least its battery is drained, you may not log in. You also have to make sure you don't delete the authenticator program. I have this app "Google Authenticator" and I used this in my Primedice account. What if I lost my phone? Is there a way to retrieve the google authenticator in my phone? Or maybe can I just log-in in Google? Each and every site, when you activate 2FA, has to also offer a "secret key". That's your only chance to "retrieve" authentication, so keep it safe. If your phone is lost, you can duplicate the authentication feature on another phone with this secret key. But if your phone is lost or stolen, your 2FA app is stolen with it and other may have access to your wallet. Log in to Google doesn't help. They don't spy on you that bad So there's a way after all, fortunately I have my secret key. Alright then, I will keep it safe. Thank you for the help and conversation.  |
