TwinWinNerD is probably our new reddit guy after passions leaving, so here is passion's project that should be fullfilled: salsacz, when nexerns client is published for a few days and we filled the subreddit /r/Nxt with many quality links, I want to start a reddit ad campaign. http://de.reddit.com/wiki/selfservehttp://www.reddit.com/ad_inqI will create pictures, other users can create pictures as well. We get 1000 views for 0,75$. We can target specific subreddits like /r/Bitcoin with 100k user or /r/litecoin with 18k user. But we can also target the whole frontpage. For only 75$ or 1000 NXT we could create 100k views. From interested persons or from every person world wide. I think it would be nice if we can get a minimum of 24.000 NXT for this. I would use 250 NXT per week to generate about 20000 views each week. In the beginning only on cryptocurrency subreddits. Later I would rotate it, so the "normal" ppl see the ad also. This campaign I would run for 2 years. What do you guys think? TwinWinNerD has got 5k Nxt for this now, so it should bring 500k views, if passions numbers were correct. |

What happens when you do away with proof-of-work and use solely proof-of-stake verification as the backbone of your cryptocurrency network? NXT, which claims to be the second generation cryptocurrency, is what you get.
NXT was launched in September 2013 with an initial amount, or block, of 1 billion coins distributed among 73 stakeholders. Since then, these stakeholders have been distributing the coins among other users, growing the network until its current market capitalisation stands at US$60 million, fifth largest according to CryptoCoin Charts. Like Bitcoin, this 1 billion coins represents all NXT that exists, and proof-of-stake forging for coins only nets transaction fees.
Being only five months old, very few online merchants accept payments in NXT. One of the first is nxtBay, which sells NXT-related merchandise like shirts and keychains. Things get better if you’re looking to trade, though. DGEX is the main exchange for NXT, with a transaction volume of up to a hundred Bitcoins a day, amounting to almost US$100,000 at current Bitcoin exchange rates. There are plans for decentralised, peer-to-peer trading of NXT in the future.

The current financial system uses around 10,000 times more energy then bitcoin.
Think about how much oil you burn when you have brinks trucks driving around to fill up ATMs and move cash around.
Switching to Bitcoin would save the environment.
