My issue is, user henkster has said he will be reporting my account to have it banned. Hes a true wankster. So, I guess I have to start from scratch. I will take this experience and grow from it. The unfortunate part is, new users will have no idea how to participate without instructional videos showing how to use bitcoin software. So, I guess Ill just be instructing them to find their own source on the internet. AND that was really the goal here. Showing new users Bitcoin isn't as hard as they heard it was. Yet, the lesson a few have commented to me is, I knew Bitcoin was a scam. Great job kid, great job :-)
Well, you know that not everybody is nice over the internet and a few trolls are just enough to spoil any fun. You can let them win or you can go on. I'd prefer the second option since although I was (very) far from the result, it was still fun. Just.. yeah, I'm not a newbie and I'm the example that not only newbies will try to grab the prize.

My guess is that we may have another one that got his Bitcoin info from BCash website. So.. Bitcoin already works and it's still being continuously improved, so the chances are high that it'll continue to work in the next 10 (or more) years too.

1. You did write that you are interested in accounts buying; whether you delete or not that post, it doesn't change that fact. 2. Feedback is not moderated, the only one that can remove that feedback is the one that have set it. In theory, you can ask nicely, discuss, ask to remove that feedback. In reality, because of [1], the chances to see your negative feedback removed are slim.

How can you invest/HODL if you don't save money to use for investing/HODLING? Gold hodlers, and Bitcoin hodlers are small niches, and might continue to remain to be small niches because no savings.
Money is just a representation of debt. I guess that you know that. And people receive money for their work. In the same way one would receive money, he can receive Bitcoin for his work (bounties, signatures, whatever). And that can be HODL. And I've seen that people don't see this earned Bitcoin in the same way as the earned fiat. The may have difficulties with fiat, they may not save fiat, but they may keep the Bitcoin. I cannot explain why this happens, it's not really logical, but I've seen it. Maybe this gives you some answers.

are you ok if we end this year with this price?
How comes you ask about this range? There are good news piling up, I expect it to rise much higher until the end of the year. However, to answer you, for me personally the current levels are also more than OK. Actually, even if it would fall to the levels from the start of this year, I trust Bitcoin enough to "know" it would recover.

Yes, that's what bounties these days make us.
That's correct. And it's the fault of bounty hunters, not the fault of the project "owners". In the past you knew about how many $ or BTC to expect at the end of the bounty. Some bad ones may have been slip in, but a good number of them was predictable. Or maybe I was simply lucky. But bounty hunters started to flow in and the competition has became so big that nobody had the time and willingness to do a basic background check. Then I stopped doing bounties. Others have continued and now they're crying. If you guys like to work all day for the vague promise of a carrot on a stick, they'll offer you that and nothing more. The labor market is also supply vs demand. And the supply is huge... Edit: I forgot to mention, some still think that Bitcoin-paid signatures are bounties. Imho they're not. They are by far a different category, they are predictable.

I go for a proper (not linked to governments) monetary system that works (widely accepted) and which also has an underlying asset with finite and scarce supply. The fact it works makes it an asset with value and its scarcity makes the value rise.

Keep thinking about this and maybe bootstrap file works better (faster) in POS coins because if I remember correctly, I have used it only for alts like Pivx, Dash, Bitsend, Masternodecoin and never in POW mined coins like our old good Bitcoin?
Bitcoin has bootstrap file too in the past. But since about version 0.10 something has change and the verify blocks steps seems to be the bottleneck, being slower than the actual download. And yeah, bootstrap.dat is a security risk. But that doesn't stop people post and use bootstrap. Old habits don't die easy. And whoever doesn't have the time, space, willingness to do this sync properly, there are plenty of good SPV wallets. That's what I also use.

racist mod ban me?
You are the one "thinking racist". And please don't hide behind this for your (bad) behavior on the forum, it won't work. Read the rules and go by the rules. And I'll bold this for visibility: after a ban you should post only in Meta for appeal. Posting in Economy may be seen as ban evasion and it won't be good.

It was a quite bad year for altcoins. So yeah, the coin in September 2019 is... Bitcoin. Of course, we hope that the sun will shine again for altcoins too, but that may also depend on Bitcoin...

Most probably if the datacenter had 50 kWh for years and then jumps to 50000 and remains there, at some point sooner or later questions will be asked. If OP is lying (no offense, but it has happened before, newspapers show it) and those that run the datacenter don't know about this, questions will be asked. If all is good, when the electricity company will come with questions, the contract for electricity may need to be upgraded to a more costly one.
However, as already stated, all calculations start with current price per kWh...

Are you sure about changing wallet file name with a new one? Because if I try to write another name, it tells file not found.
Edit: Thanks @nc50lc for clearing up. Although I mainly use Electrum, that behavior tricked me big time.

Wow, quite strange... At least did they allow you withdraw the funds you had in your account/card, or just locked everything?
|
|
|
Something that nobody has told: for Electrum, if you don't know the password, the UI doesn't let you do much else than simply close. If you are in this situation with Electrum and don't know the password, but clearly know the seed, find the data folder of Electrum (it's called electrum_data) and (when Electrum is not running) rename it to electrum_data_old. Then start Electrum again and tell "I already have a seed" in the 3rd window.

There are many apps that allow you to do surveys and install other apps which are basically bloatware and at times hidden malware and thus you get paid some type of currency to your account.
And there are a couple of faucet rotator apps too, but that's an even bigger waste of time. I've never used them, so I can't tell what other surprises they bring (I won't be surprised to find at least ad exploiting).

#bitcoinpuzzle still unsolved ... I didnt think this scavenger hunt format would be this hard. Maybe we need some more clues? Brute forcing it (all) is way too long. You said that not the whole private key is scrambled, but that 33 is not enough of a clue... However, I won't mind if the new clues will come only Monday

* If the transaction is moving TO an exchange, prepare for a dump * If the transaction is coming FROM an exchange to a personal wallet, prepare for a pump
Transaction TO exchange can happen from another wallet of the same exchange (rarely, but it's possible). Or maybe it's a transfer done for future arbitrage. Transaction FROM exchange may not mean nothing at all. Why would people withdraw before buying more?! What if the recipient is an unknown wallet of the same exchange (consolidating)? So I wouldn't rely on those rules...

The Bitcoin logo (₿) will appear on the shirt sleeve of Watford FC this season, as part of an educational drive led by the innovative sports betting brand Sportsbet.io. Interesting.. From what I know the football clubs in UK cannot advertise betting related businesses. Yerry Mina was fined for this not long ago. I know, their sleeve shows only BTC, but the web page of Watford FC clearly states: Sportsbet.io I fear the BTC shirt sleeves may be short-lived... Hopefully, it’d be the best Christmas present, a new ATH It should be before Christmas, so we can buy some nice presents too from the profit.
