10341  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you trade? on: January 25, 2018, 11:24:23 PM
I still read TA and graphs every now and then as I try to translate them into something really relevant in my trading schemes. Normally, these graphs don't actually help in interpreting the overall market sentiment or where will the market go in the next X hours/days. I still think that the current price and supply/demand ratio is still the king in determining the next price movement and not candlesticks or traditional indicators used in stocks. As always, buy low-sell high method would remain supreme in any market available, as it points out profit directly and nothing more.
10342  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bitcoin effect the current economy system? on: January 25, 2018, 09:55:47 PM
It is already affecting the economy little by little, and by the looks of it, it appears that Wall Street money and attention is slowly diverting towards bitcoin and other crypto assets. Eventually, everyone will be digging bitcoin and other crypto and the governments would need to keep up by taxing it or imposing stricter regulations so as to retain the control they have on the people.

Can you tell me how unemployed or poor people should buy Bitcoin? For the money they do not have? The fact that the bitcoin community is growing has a very small impact on the economy. These are investments in bitcoin not in the economic system.

Why would they do that if they don't have the money, or can't afford to lose money in the first place? Putting your money into crypto assets is still a very high risk even with the huge attention it is gaining from the worldwide community, so the answer to your question is no.
10343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another double bottom is being formed? Will BTC move higher? on: January 25, 2018, 09:30:21 PM
Not really digging the info out but it certainly does look genuine for bitcoin since it rarely happens on the charts. Not really an experienced guy in trading but have read a few bits about double-bottoms: it's either you fuck it good or they fuck you hard. As for me, I'd still keep my cash for the mean time and see how the market reacts then trade and try to go with the flow. Normally, a double bottom often ends with a nice push, but in the case of bitcoin, there's still a big chance that it hits rock bottom once it breaches the major resistance of $10k.

We'll see how would this develop in the next few hours.
10344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MSN article on BTC and taxes. on: January 25, 2018, 09:05:41 PM
If you make a purchase with BTC. Just how do they think they can charge taxes on that purchase? What a load of crap. Here is another thing that pisses me off. Have you ever walked into your bank with a large amount of cash and been questioned about how you got it by the banker?  Its cash. Its not illegal to own it and you don't have to explain how you got it. You saved it. I can bet though if I sold a bunch of BTC person to person and walked into the bank with cash there would be questions.

First, you don't incur taxes if you purchase BTC. You incur a tax liability when you sell it back for Dollars.

The tracking is the same as if you were to win big a casino or sell your car. It's limited how well the IRS can track the transactions, but the responsibility to pay taxes owed is on the tax payer.

If you walk into your bank with $10,000 or more you have to file a form explaining exactly where you got the money. So, yes, your Banker will ask you about it.

The questions are precisely made to verify that you don't own the cash illegal, i.e,. through selling drugs or money laundering or any other illegal transaction.

Well, OP did say purchasing with BTC and not purchasing BTC. In our country, whenever you make a purchase, you are also paying for a value-added tax, so there's that. It would be near-impossible for the IRS to keep track of your daily spendings, especially if you've mixed them first before sending them to purchase something you like. Taxing bitcoin is very vague when it comes to the tiniest of details; the government can't just tax you if you have bitcoins in your pocket, there needs to be some for of gain on your end that they know for them to get a tax cut, so how does that work in the long run if services like mixers exist?

And no, I don't promote money laundering.
10345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now is the best time to invest in bitcoin, says digital currency hedge-fund mana on: January 25, 2018, 07:46:11 PM
His opinion about the matter is very common, I'd say, but he has a point on investing when everyone is throwing away their bag of gold in fear of the gold corroding into something less valuable later on. That's what bitcoin was before and what it is right now; everyone shouting "bitcoin's bubble has been popped" without even checking out the all-time charts while the smart ones buy all their "trash" from them. Not the best of advice, but certainly worth noting even if it came from a hedge fund manager.
10346  Economy / Speculation / Re: Resources for Technical Analysis on: January 25, 2018, 07:06:49 PM
Tradingview is a nice resource to look at for TA and ideas shared by thousands of experienced traders all over the world. It covers a wide variety of stocks and assets that traders dwell on to make some profit. If you're looking for a good read but not too hard to understand, you can try Adam Grimes' The Art and Science of Technical Analysis. You should also look up on the writings of John J. Murphy among others, since you'd find some good bits of intraday trading knowledge from there.
10347  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you get started in trading? on: January 25, 2018, 06:13:53 PM
I was just an avid lurker on the Wall Observer thread before it was filled with constant spamming from bears and bulls. The charts being posted in there everyday seemed to be an unsolvable puzzle for me, but I was fascinated on how these freaks on the internet make money by buying and selling bitcoins over and over, every, single day. So I tried what they're doing and lost a few dollars, until I come up to a conclusion that trading isn't really for me. After stopping for quite a while, I checked up the now-defunct Mintpal for Blackcoin since I remember I still have some staked in my wallet back in 2015. So I tried to send it, and amazingly my timing was good since it was the time when people wanted to pump blackcoin from 9000 satoshis to 21 thousand. After that I always thought that it'd be the same thing until I started studying graphs and charts posted in tradingview. Up to now I'm still trading, albeit only with small amounts. But the good thing is I'm still profiting even with 5-12% every week.
10348  Economy / Speculation / Re: CME contracts expire and the BITCOIN price..? on: January 25, 2018, 05:26:49 PM
How many times would we be repeating ourselves? Bitcoin futures don't affect the bitcoin markets directly, so no, the expiration of the CME futures contracts won't do anything significant to the market directly unless some group of traders try to make a buzz out of it. It all boils down on how the market reacts or moves according to what event is presently circulating on the cryptoworld, that's why it's a great thing to be in the know of latest crypto news. I doubt there would be much movement, but then again it could end up either ways.
10349  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptonator 10 years withdrawal hold !!! do not answer my request on: January 25, 2018, 04:50:36 PM
Consider your funds lost if they don't reply to any of your queries since that would be impossible to retrieve without any legal action. Also, are you sure that there aren't any fraudulent activity on your account to begin with?  Normally exchanges close an account when they see that different nefarious activities are being done on an account or if an account is involved in illegal trading on their platform. How long have you been waiting on a response? Typically with these kind of problems, support replies takes about a day or two, but if it's longer than a week, then I must say that your account is done for.
10350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news! on: January 25, 2018, 04:08:00 PM
Isn't this done already through KYC regulations? With this kind of new implementation, I don't think it's a 'yay' for traders who want to keep anonymous on using their crypto. This is just a workaround or their (South Korean Government) legal means of controlling their people's money. Frankly this doesn't solve anything apart from the lessening of fraud which is the only thing this new implementation fixes, and it seems that the South Korean government wouldn't be a bitcoin-friendly state even in the months to come.
10351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices dropped, should you buy? on: January 20, 2018, 02:56:47 PM
In these scenarios, the best consultation you'll make is consulting your wallet: how much are you willing to bet on this drop? Because if it drops even further, you only have yourself to blame and you're okay with the lost money down the drain. If you're quite the analyst, you can see that a deep drop often leads to higher highs, so on paper it is advisable to buy bitcoin during the dip as it always tend to get back on higher levels afterwards. The coin always go against the traditional TA that you can see, so watch out for traps that could potentially lose you money.
10352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Someone please answer this question of mine on: January 20, 2018, 02:33:01 PM
Would you be able to post your bitcion address that you found to have some balance on an explorer? If the transaction is brand new, it could take some time for the node that is connected to your wallet to display that there is indeed a transaction coming your way. What wallet are you exactly using, and are you sure that the address you're looking at is the same as what your cousin saw on the blockchain? If you could give these details, that would be a great help.
10353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Negative trust given for my bad English on: January 20, 2018, 02:23:28 PM
I asked The Pharmacist to remove my negative trust. Waiting for his reply.

Also did some reading about these negative trust thing. Saw I am not the only one who is affected by it.

Also if somebody knows what id a "DT member" then please share. I googled but did not find anything except those 2 words.

You wouldn't find the definition of a DT member anywhere on Google, but to give you an idea, default trust members are users who are, by default, trusted by community members and don't have any ill-intention towards their co-members in a given community. Mainly, these people have done something good for the whole of the community that's why they're given such trust. And as I can see, the Pharmacist only leaves negative feedback on those who are scammers, shitposting and spreading FUD most of the time. You can PM him about it, though I doubt he'll reconsider your request unless he sees change.
10354  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is momentum from bears is weakneing now as BTC breaks above 12K? on: January 20, 2018, 01:48:25 PM
I couldn't really tell knowing that there are still large sell walls on several exchanges that needs to be either pulled out or eaten up by bulls. We are still at risk of being brought down given that we're only a couple hundred dollars above a crucial support level. If that gets beaten down, then we go downhill yet again.and might even reach $8000 as the lowest point of the crash. $13000-$14000 would be a comfortable region before the bulls take a strong push.
10355  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PLANNING AND MONEY IN 2018??. on: January 20, 2018, 12:49:21 PM
I'd probably expand my altcoin holdings (which I already did) and see whether I can break a new record for profits this year. Too many activities in line with the coins that I follow so that is good amidst the left and right banning and stricter regulations for both crypto and bitcoin. Will also try to expand my mini GPU farm and see whether I can make something good out of it. Currently sitting @ 300 MH/s mining ETH and it's doing a decent job giving me constant stream of coins I'd likely reinvest. I hope that this year gives a massive success to my investing endeavours. It could be as great as 2017, but as long as I'm in profit, I'd take it any day.
10356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin always be the king controlling the crypto market on: January 20, 2018, 12:31:08 PM
As long as bitcoin remains the only road on getting other cryptocurrencies, it will dominate the market for a long time. Also, deep pockets have already established their control on the bitcoin market and would likely be until it is profitable (which is still true even up to this day). Other altcoins can be profitable and can bring you a large payday, but do note that you can't acquire them directly with fiat so you need to still get bitcoin before anything else, which I think would remain the case for a long time given that no exchange would accept fiat deposits for cryptocoins.
10357  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL EVERYTHING!!!!! on: January 20, 2018, 11:51:50 AM
Losing all your hard-earned money in trading doesn't define bitcoin and the cryptomarket as one giant ponzi scheme. Read up the definition and you'll see there's a big difference. If it is indeed a ponzi scheme, shouldn't the stock markets be illegal since it also follow the same principle as the bitcoin market? Also, the constant volatility of the coins suggests that there is a demand for the current available supplies, so your argument about how this market goes is irrelevant.

I'm gonna be honest with you all , i have been trading/investing since 2017.

There it goes. You haven't experienced the crazy roller coasters and the calmness of the price that's why you're generalizing the whole market with your own bad experience.
10358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's bloodbath was totally normal & the biggest buying opportunity in 2018 on: January 20, 2018, 11:25:50 AM
I wouldn't say that the price crash was normal, but all I can say is that it's a great opportunity to get your coins cheap while everyone is doubting bitcoin's capabilities to do another push. The negative press generated by South Korea and Indonesia's recent stance about bitcoin actually helped the price go down that deep, and also filled some traders money with more bitcoins due to the fact that one bitcoin got low as $9500 this week. The bloodbath also caused me to increased my holdings in several altcoins I hold. All in all, the second week of January just proved to be another rush sale of cryptocoins in the market while everyone is shouting this is the end.
10359  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is a 'Project of US Intelligence,' Kaspersky Lab Co-Founder Claims on: January 20, 2018, 10:29:01 AM
Proofs or GTFO?

There had been a lot of interesting conspiracy theories surrounding bitcoin but none of it have provided substantial evidence about bitcoin being controlled by the government and most importantly, the CIA and Feds. I can't see how would that even happen in the first place knowing that the governments and the banks are bitcoin's worst enemies. Also, bitcoin generated a lot of publicity due to its value, which convinced a lot of people to switch from their lovely fiat.

If it's indeed a government experiment, it's an utter failure on their end.
10360  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is bitfenex a scam on: January 20, 2018, 09:12:38 AM
Bitfinex has been acting very strange these past few months. Ghost deposits, support replying queries for too long, trading platform freezing occasionally and whatnot, but on top of all this, Bitfinex still remains to be a legitimate exchange on my books. Though I must say as well that if you still have any funds on that exchange, withdraw them immediately or else, regret it later. They are showing some signs of being "hacked" sooner or later. and you surely don't want to get caught on that.
