2000 is not an interesting level, its significance is zero when we trade in every country of the world and the price is varying constantly and very often nowhere close to 2000.

Is this why some hotels have no floor 13, did that level of logic ever do any good you think ?    I would guess not, buy into the price below 2000 because this reasoning is so weak that when we push past as is inevitable with such flawed logic then the rise will be profitable for all holders.

The only thing to be certain of here is was the rise to 1,700 justified.   In price terms alone that only means to say have we confirmed levels enough along the way or did we rise without question.   The price is justified by the selling and recapture of each price point.   Just recently we had a downtrend in play and again its been defeated.    This market remains as I thought in February, a strongly trending positive rise.    Anything can suffer setbacks but it wont be from round numbers in just one country, this idea is bigger then that

When the price reaches $2000
Well, then you may want to prepare to sell your Bitcoins soon, because I think there’s a good chance that we may, at least for a little while, surpass 2,000$ very soon.

People selling at 2,000 and jumping the gun at 1990 1900 1800 even are why the price here was being put down for a while.   Right now its regaining in very little time.  Selling because the dollar price hits a round number is clown town logic Cheesy    You have to largely ignore that the majority of bitcoins are traded in China in their own currency and the number of course is not 2000 but its nonsense anyway.

Ironic as it seems, if anything you should commit to buy below 2000 as it keeps faltering and recirculating under 2000 precisely because you understand the sellers are only obsessing over random numbers.  What happens when we get past 2000, its going to rush past and up as all those round number sellers are 'defeated' in their fear of a top.   The reasons why we get even near to 2000 is far more important and with larger inertia then the very weak fragile and illogical reasons to be selling 2,000.

Say you could buy a house for 20k less.  The downside is the number is 13 on the street but every house built was identical.   Its that scenario, you buy here because the reasons for the lower price are not correct.    Doesnt mean we know for sure the houses on this street are a bargain but in any scenario you are receiving a discount to buy into poor reasoning as it will be overcome and prove incorrect.

The alternative is 13 is unlucky for sure and the house burns down from a bad number or with bitcoin, we fail at 2,000 because thats the largest i can count to.   Its silly right, you profit when you overcome inefficiency and its how capitalism prospers and benefits society in general

Yep once a day sounds correct in my experience for 10k.    I guess 5  coins would eventually stake I dont know exactly but say 5 goes into 10k  maybe 2000 times so very roughly that'd be like over 5 years to stake once Cheesy      Thats fair because 1.5 / 5 is  30% return so its pretty rare you will get that 'lucky' I guess.

Theres 76,138,021 BLK  Circulating Supply

Again roughly speaking but (1.5 x 365) / 10,000 coins is actually generous return of over 5% a year for staking.    Almost all countries fail to pay a return on deposits close to that for FIAT.  Obviously this is new technology new ideas but it would appear well rewarded to venture an interest.   The coin should be used far more, I find it fast and the fees are tiny compared to bitcoin which was over a dollar on my last check/attempt.    Ive just reinstalled again so I'm really not involved but I find bitcoin far too favoured still though I read altcoins are becoming more popular its not filtered through enough yet.

My view on price action, if BC can surmount .000105 and confirm I will be more confident on it continuing upwards, then normally it'd jump up a bit like bitcoin did overnight.  .00009 support and Im undecided on when it can beat a small downtrend it gathered.  Its very probably positive medium term having beat a much longer downtrend but I think its challenged by sellers this instant.
10384  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 17, 2017, 11:38:06 AM
Stock market cap refers to free float not worth to buy that company so far as I know.
That is an impressive pump at Stamp  Shocked

Every time I expect a deeper correction and/or longer consolidation, Bitcoin just keeps surprising me!

2000$ soon?

No I expected it to come back but its always the case of how long.    The amplitude to the waves or something and its not a month apparently but less then a week to recover which I think shows the pullback is apprehension of $2,000.   Round figure avoidance is human nonsense and it fits the shallow and short withdrawal especially when bitcoin is independent, dont buy it at all if you think its only a satellite of dollar.

So looking at that how long before the breakout based on your TA? Thanks
That sharp spike.   Thats the break of a downtrend, the boat already left.     Actually I have here as another point of indecision because its previous price for declining ceiling, see may 14th prices roughly and my uptrend on Huobi has not been regained so we decide or negotiate climbing back on that ladder.  Thats at least a day, prime time for China to digest and concur  Cool

Actually for a good rise longer term we want this questioning and building along the way, it makes the action more certain and likely to last to higher prices.   Just sharp spikes that do not pullback some, reconfirm and come back is less strength, less involvement with fewer buyers.  Always we want time for participants not just speculators, thats if you want much higher price
10385  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 16, 2017, 03:25:18 AM
Ripple I read in a mainstream article described as superior to all other standards as it can encompass them all, so would outlast all of crypto.   Ive no idea if thats correct, I had thought it was centralised and so more vulnerable to corruption.

This morning based on last night I changed my view on bitcoin from bullish short term trend to challenged and its been back and forth today.   Staying within declining highs but also above 1670 in dollars for now, not sure if CNY is more significant but $ is easier to relate to for me.  Its currently reacting to those lows.   No idea of the real motivation, news or momentum to it

27% rise overnight, wowsers.  quite a comeback, bitcoin is also looking well still is my rough view.

I got a wallet loaded on a truly horrible laptop that takes ten seconds to bring up a right click menu.   Its up dated to 20th april but is stubborn as a mule to go beyond that, put on team viewer because it hurts my back literally to have lean over the dam thing waiting for it to respond.  Trying the rescan thing see if that helps, its no doubt my fault its not worked but my laptop setup is awkward as hell

Slack requires invites looks like, sorry Im not familiar with that site and its not familiar with me :p  Is there a list to add ones self to maybe

get up to $2,000 and probably I would sell 1/4 of my bitcoin holdings

Thats why it has an aversion to 2,000, if you visualise 2 magnets and how two poles the same pushed together will repel each other.  Its like that until we surpass that point and then its support, this force is already happening.   Thats the effect I'm referring to really.    But 2000 by itself means nothing, whats the number in Euro or rubles or Yen.     This isnt really the driver of bitcoin growth, this round number game is just a mirage and we'll dance around here but my guess is we go past 2,000.   There has to be more substantial reasons for ebbs in supply and demand for bitcoin medium term.   Protocol and trade, rising use will determine the price mostly.

Short term, looking at CNY Im bullish bitcoin.  It seems to have retained an uptrend but I'm looking for confirmation in various time frames and nations

Or you should if you are trolling hoping for lower prices perhaps.  All depends on your objectives in life Cheesy     So far as I've experienced and in contrast to cryptsy towards the end, Poloniex is responsive.  Best criticism would be based on examples and repeated faults in the operation of that exchange

Chart looks bullish again to me.   Nice to see pullbacks and recovery,  I'm not certain however just my initial impression over the last 24 hours.   I drew a rough uptrend line for CNY to pass or keep as a ceiling on yesterdays declining price action and its already confirming above that.  At least short term it looks positive.

I do imagine people are making a fuss about the $2,000 mark.  Of course it means zero as bitcoin is global not one currency and no value is fixed in any case.   If the cause of this pullback is nonsense basically then it should match the uptrend resuming as I see it.   As always just my rough take Undecided

I can remember gambling for cards, Top Trumps was one game where you just have choose the highest figure.  So top speed for a car vs the other persons card.   Super basic gambling at age 7 and if you won the card game you might win the other person snacks.   Is that gambling, its pretty mild.  The kids now because of technology dont have anything easy or low powered anymore and unfortunately I think their stakes are much higher.
Somebody always cheats in card games too, you can bet on it Shocked
10391  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2000 anyone? on: May 12, 2017, 05:07:40 PM
Way too many people are watching 2000 like it means anything at all.   Very short term looking at price action today, we need to confirm first above 1767 then 1791 to establish a longer trend that might lead to that psychological price point being challenged.     I'd guess otherwise prices are negative short term, this may not mean so much if medium term the buyers are still in control.   I'm uncertain of motivation of buyers but Ive heard nothing to challenge them especially and every country has its own price away from the round number of dollars
10392  Economy / Speculation / Re: To the moon! on: May 12, 2017, 04:29:10 PM
That big figure in peoples minds is quite likely a reason for the current hesitation I think, I can faintly remember similar with the first breach of 1000 ages ago.   My very rough guess is BTC and its protocol changes are not a fallout for this year, some anticipate we see a switch to another crypto standard but price wise I believe we have at least 2017 to see if market can make bitcoin work or 'they' move interest and capital elsewhere.

So yep I concur it might take till end of 2017 to surmount 2000 properly but I still think its an imaginary obstacle  like this moon idea.   Really markets have better reasons to establish areas of supply and demand and which price suits, they are not swinging off round numbers except short term in minds and ideas of people, any economy is a massed crowd and momentum of its own determination.   We cant be tied to 2000 because thats only one currency and bitcoin is dozens of different prices across the globe - I will be disappointed if dollar controls us like that
10393  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin To Soon Reach $1700 on: May 12, 2017, 06:35:55 AM
People go for round figures too much, its allready past 10,000 CNY so $2000 is not the barrier it appears.   I think the price only fell back a bit here because of psychological wariness over 2,000 when its not more significant then the previous numbers.
Price rising now is mostly to do with the block reward halving last year, the effect was delayed as expected.  Also the measures of recognition and possible legitimate trade also gave more allocation in various quarters holdings I think which raises demand in the prices.   Still lacking is a bigger rise in trade and we have a problem where the base protocol needs to adapt, though we have disagreement I see no real reason for bearishness or negativity in price expectations.
The largest negative I see is just normal speculation and profit taking by short term interests, in the end that evens out and price can be higher on a regular basis for a while yet.  I hope bitcoin continues to improve and proves useful and justified in its rising interest, thats the main hope for growth to continue really
10394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BLK/BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: May 11, 2017, 07:49:24 AM
Nothing specific to BLK, lots of alt coins sell to feed into bitcoin rally looks like. I think its pressure from bitcoin slipping upwards, people like higher numbers but its not as positive action I would guess.   It'll take at least this month to just even out and see how the charts bars close, as always crypto is a bit volatile and takes time to see the grander picture.  It was so neat before Shocked

Maybe there was or will be some news to solidify gains, not seen anything
10395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 11, 2017, 07:37:03 AM
Depth of the cup to the handle breakout point is the then estimated move after it rises post formation.  So 300 to 1100 roughly is +800 from that point which is what we've seen almost.

I'd rather it moved move gradually upwards, this slippage is nice for some but any strong price needs testing along the way.   I see alt coins selling off some as people join the rally I suppose, they may regain some as it steadies out

Seems to be positive action confirming above two bands of possible resistance for the last month.  Uptrend intact and .000139 as the next target for traders, I have far less confidence in significance at that level as its not been traded at for over a year.   Really for a bullish scenario BLK only needs for this month to be just maintaining a range here and it'll still be creating positive action above the .00012 area

I have the 1.5.1.0 client version working fine on a new machine but wanted to transfer the blockchain from the old machine.   Seems not to like the old file, I've checked security permissions, read only flag and space available but not sure why its being fussy over my old copy.
Its not a massive deal, it will update just being connected to the network.  I catch up an hour of transactions every 4 seconds but its 3 years behind so not as instant as it would be if allowing my old files.  I figured I would use the bootstrap link in the first post of this thread but same error given.  It'll download in a bit over a day, just thought I'd mention it in case its something obvious I missed
10399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 06, 2017, 05:15:17 AM
Not sure November is significant except historically I remember that time as peak.    Fed policy development vs expectation is more of schedule for speculation in bitcoin I reckon

1h chart, we have: 1 shoulder, 1 head... another shoulder forming?
Not especially, its not predictor of a move till it completes so I'm told.  The middle dip is far too harsh and strong a recovery to be looking for weakness, a failed move to the downside is bullish.   Thats how I'm looking at it.

Looking at Huobi I think its a good measure for bullish action if CNY can pass and confirm above 8849.   Looks to be a good band of resistance for this month and 50% of the peak to low
10400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do any people gamble under the age of 18? on: May 05, 2017, 04:03:09 AM
The biggest gambling now is in games and online gaming is massively widespread and I think that is the most common underage gambling and its largely unregulated so far as I know.   The amazing thing here is the leading front to cut down or control video game in game raffle, lotto, random games of luck however its phrased is going to be the Peoples republic of China or our communist dictator overlords are requiring the major games companies to actually declare the odds they are offering to their young audience in profit to reward of each game.    Kinda ironic but there it is, you will have some rough idea of in game box openings for CSGO when it starts being widely available in China soon.   I believe theres other games also being required to declare, but Im not aware any other country has required open declaration of hidden game mechanics like this.

In game 'prizes' is gambling for sure and its kinda mislabelled and smuggled in the back door to sell to the perfect market of children, an untapped resource of spending money to many companies subject to quite severe regulation and oversight normally.

The OP question should really be how many under 18 are not gambling
