Which speed? Of the card? It shows 15kh/s it processed around 250 local work items in 10 minues but no accepted share. My network speed is fast 100down/20up.

It's the same with cgminer... I just can't see any error while looking at the config and the debug logs... is my card just too slow?

Dego,

Yes, your card is too slow. I wouldn't recommend p2pool with anything less than 100 Kh/s. With anything less your chances of getting an accepted share are low.

Don't worry guys...nearmiss will make it right. Your fine to continue mining on his pool.

If anyone would like to setup their own P2Pool node for DGC I have posted the source code based on P2Pool release 13.1 on my GitHub:

https://github.com/CartmanSPC/p2pool

This version also reduces the PPLNS window from 24 hours to 3.

[11:56] <+d2> yea i was going to say it seems pretty obvious that carts p2pool code is distorting space time

Important note:
If you are currently running alternate p2pool code you have to do a new install. Alternate P2Pool code is not compatible!
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][ARG] Argentum | Fast. Optimized. Unique Innovation. | 0% Orphans on: July 18, 2013, 06:19:36 PM
We can join ARG mining at http://arg.epools.org. For now it is only pool who can raise above multipool hash rate.
I am against this kind of things but this have to be stopped immediately.

I would suggest you avoid epools as well. From what I have heard that pool op is not responsible as can be seen with his DGC and WDC pool.

I would suggest using arg.scryptmining.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I tune for p2pool?
A: p2pool has very rapid expiration of work and new blocks, it is suggested you decrease your intensity by 1 from your optimal value, and [possibly] set GPU threads to 1. If you have non-p2pool backup pools it is recommended to use --failover-only since the work is effectively like a different block chain.

Q: Why is my Dead rate so high?
A: Dead rate is the amount of shares that were stale or DOA. Very high dead rates can indicate miner misconfiguration. Try lowering your intensity by 1. You can also try setting GPU threads to 1.

Q: Why does my miner report so many longpoll/stratum from pool request work restarts?
A: This is normal. It is how often p2pool shares are generated.

Q: How does the pool fee work?
A: The fee's on P2Pools are a bit different than other pools. Any fees that a P2Pool has is probabilistic. In other words if the P2Pool has a 1% fee then 1% of the shares go to the pool not 1% of every share. The pool can have periods of bad luck in relation to the fee and get nothing at all...but it averages out over time.

Q: Why are the stats not updating?
A: Internet Explorer may not display current data after a browser refresh. Please try using Chrome instead.

Q: Can I set my own share difficulty?
A: You can set the level of difficulty sent to your miner by appending a difficulty setting to your wallet address.

To set the difficulty for your specific hash rate multiply by 0.00000116
For example, if your miner is capable of 1440 Kh/s:

1440 * 0.00000116 = 0.0016704

Example Connection String for a miner capable of 1440 Kh/s:

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://dgc.xpool.net:8810 -u DTWPTRSi9HoLh69NPd2fbDWUGHrx1nLdmk+0.0016704 -p password --scrypt

The following difficulty settings can be used as a guide:

Kh/s        Difficulty
 1           +0.00000116
 50          +0.000058
 100         +0.000116
 250         +0.00029
 500         +0.00058
 750         +0.00087
 1000        +0.00116
 1500        +0.00174
 1750        +0.00203
 2000        +0.00232

Public Casinocoin P2Pool nodes
P2Pool nodes combine their local hash rates to the greater P2Pool hash rate. Use the one with the lowest ping to your miner or start your own local node. Switching between nodes maintains your PPLNS payout level.

Note: Do NOT use an online or exchange wallet address! They will have no way of knowing that the mined coins belong to you. ONLY use an address from your own wallet.
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Method of diminishing the Multipool effect for coin devs on: July 16, 2013, 06:13:18 PM
How are you going to fight individual users who would only switch to the coin based on the profitability? You trying to treat the symptom instead of fixing the rules set by the coin itself.

I see what your saying. It would only work against pool flash mining not a bunch of individuals deciding to solo mine. Also the parameters of what constitutes flash mining vs. normal mining would be hard to determine.

An idea on how to diminish the Multipool effect:

1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Method of diminishing the Multipool effect for coin devs on: July 16, 2013, 05:45:15 PM
Just an idea...not sure if it is a good one or not.

Develop the wallet/coin to throttle new blocks found based on an average of blocks found over the previous "x" period of time. The idea is that if a pool wallet has not consistently been finding blocks at a certain rate any new flash mining would only continue to find blocks at their average rate. The block finding rate should slowly increase over time based on the continued hash rate being utilized.

Just wanted to throw it out there to the community.
