1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many advantages do you know about tron? on: June 17, 2023, 11:23:58 AM
I find so many benefits of Tron like,

1. Negligible transaction fees
2. Creation of dApps with the help of smart contracts
3. Transactions popular for being speedy and robust
4. Scalability to manage a higher volume of transactions

Do you know about all these benefits or any other you want to add on? and which payment processor are you using to transact tron?

I guess it's just some basics, most of crypto have this capability or capacity already, and what you mentioned, all of this thing they are competing against each other. As for the fees, not sure though, it seems that Tron is also getting expensive as well as compare to other cryptos.

Used them though because of USDT, and again my only complain is that sometimes the fees are not consistent.

I know that there are alternatives, and so yes, I will have to look into it and maybe ditch Tron. But for those who invested on it, then I hope that it will have a good run in the next bull cycle.
1043  Economy / Speculation / Re: You wanted decoupling, you got it. on: June 17, 2023, 10:18:06 AM
I think what we saw was more of a news event with the SEC taking action against Bitcoin exchanges. I wouldn’t say that’s enough to call this a decoupling. The real decoupling we want to see will be when the stock market heads south from the recession and the Bitcoin price shoots up after the halving. Still a ways out though.

You're right, it just one of those single occurrence that we have seen so far. And so it's obvious that they will have a deviation path as the attack by SEC is on Binance, hence it went down, while S&P/Nasdaq grow. And maybe one reason is that those investors who sold their crypto might have been going on other assets.

But it's just for temporary change if I'm not mistaken. Sooner or later they will go back to bitcoin and other crypto because they know that there is a good chance to have a better profits than stocks in the next coming years specially after the halving.
1044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything is cyclical and repetitive. Bitcoin is no exception on: June 17, 2023, 10:03:35 AM
Investing or any industry, if you ignore the historical factor, it means you leave out the data about the market. The market principle is always iterative because human psychology is also iterative, so if you take away the lessons that the market has taught you in the past, you cannot predict the future market well 👌

I'm pretty sure that those who become rich investors didn't ignore historical data. In fact they look at it and that's why we have what we call technical analysis which base everything on it's previous history and then plot in and try to see where it will go in the future.

=> If you study a field thoroughly from basic to advanced things like why it appeared, by whom and how, .... Then there will come a time when you will be able to predict the future. its. And that is also the reason why great people have the ability to predict the future like Tesla, Leonardo da Vinci, ... Why don't we apply that in investing in general and investing in virtual currencies in particular?

It's being applied already, and that is why there are many predictions. But it doesn't mean though that it is an exact science. Most likely those analysis is going to be a hit or miss. Just like what one famous prediction model which was almost perfect, but it just failed when it says that the last bull run, we are going to see at least 6 digit tops.
1045  Economy / Exchanges / Binance leaving Dutch Market on: June 16, 2023, 11:48:16 AM
So Binance is leaving the Dutch market as well,

Quote
Notice on Changes of Services in the Netherlands
2023-06-16 16:40
Fellow Binancians,

We regret to announce that Binance is leaving the Dutch market. With immediate effect, no new users residing in the Netherlands will be accepted. Starting from 2023-07-17 at 00:00 UTC (2023-07-17 at 02:00 UTC+2), existing Dutch resident users will only be able to withdraw assets from the Binance platform. No further purchases, trades or deposits will be possible. We encourage users to take appropriate action by withdrawing assets from their Binance accounts.

Binance has been in a comprehensive registration application process as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) with the Dutch regulator. Although we explored many alternative avenues to service Dutch residents in compliance with Dutch regulations, unfortunately this has not resulted in a VASP registration in the Netherlands at this time. Binance will continue striving to obtain authorizations to provide our products and services to users in the Netherlands.

https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/notice-on-changes-of-services-in-the-netherlands-b5a647be31cf469b87fc3337fd461ced?

So after Canada, and most likely USA, the next country that Binance will have to leave is the Dutch market.

Not sure how big Dutch market is, but it seems to be the same problem with the regulators in that country. So it's sad for our Dutch users of Binance, but their government has made it hard for Binance to register it's services.
1046  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 100K FOR 2024 ! on: June 16, 2023, 11:02:40 AM
$100k in 2024 probably not yet because we also have to see ATH at $64k must be broken,
and until now $64k is still very strong and Bitcoin price is still trying to break $30k first, yes if you think in 2024 go ahead ,
but I am more realistic that 2024 will still not be and maybe in 2025.
yes I agree with you, it seems that $ 100k this year is still too high because until now bitcoin has not been able to break through the $ 30k resistance and plus now the SEC issue has reappeared making it increasingly difficult for bitcoin to penetrate $ 30k. I'm a little different from you about bullish, I'm more sure if bullish will occur in 2024.
Bitcoin market is in a very bad situation now. But Bitcoin price may be good by the end of 2023. Everyone is hoping that if the Bitcoin market is good, all the traders can recover some of their losses. Many traders are going to dump the price of Bitcoin.  Big losses are in. All those who have invested in Bitcoin are waiting to see when the price of Bitcoin will increase.

I am not going to claim to know what is going to happen, but I know that almost every time when we are in the bear market, then various newbies will be spouting out regarding how bitcoin prices cannot go up and that there is too much resistance and that all the other newbies are going to want to dumb as soon as BTC prices get close to previous ATHs - however, it seems to me that there is a kind of pattern that when the BTC price is going up, all the retail newbie weak hands are not likely going to be enough to keep the honey badger down.

So the mere fact that all your newbie weak-hand buddies are whining that they need to lock in their dollar profits, that seems like a big so what, once the UPpity momentum becomes too much.

Definitely this newbies will have to learn it the hard way, when they all are whining and complaining that the price is too late, and yet they are not buying. And then going to FOMO when we reach $100k, that will be the worst scenario for them. And then they learn their expensive lesson so in the next bull run or bear market then know what they are going to do. So let's give them sometime, sort of doing their own "soul searching".

Yes, it is possible that the various US Govt attacks can keep king daddy down, but it was also possible that silk road getting taken down in late 2013 could have kept king daddy down too.. but it did not.. it is also possible that the various china shutting down bitcoin exchanges in late 2016 or their shutting down mining in early to mid 2021 could have kept bitcoin down.. but it did not.

So good luck with any theories that involve you failing refusing to sufficiently/adequately prepare for UP because you are too busy thinking that it is not going to go up.

And even with the Mt. Gox hacks though, I think that is one of the worst that happen to bitcoin, and we have seen a lot of early holders, selling it as they think that it will be over for the king daddy that time. But then again, bitcoin bounces back, and after so many years you can hear random tweets about those old heads who says that they sold when the hack happen and they regret doing it.
1047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you tired of waiting for the jump? Pls Hodl on: June 16, 2023, 03:00:53 AM
I don't think that getting tired should be one traits of a investors, not just in bitcoin, but in any other markets. So definitely, it's going to be a long and hard for us, but along the way of holding for a long time, it's going to be very good for us.

Maybe the best approach is try to hold for at least one cycle and see it for yourself. Definitely you are going to make money on that time frame. But if you want more profits then you should hold a bit longer.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Interview candidates needed for academic research on wrench attacks on: June 15, 2023, 12:42:53 PM
Not really sure what you wanted in this community,

a. we are all anonymous here so I guess we are already private
b. I haven't been a victim of a $5 wrench attack. But it's obvious that the victims might have tell a stranger, or worst a close family about his crypto holding and that's why they become a target. And as far as I know, it's usually someone close to you or even a family member that might tip criminals or even themselves to do that kind of attacks to you, in my opinion.
1049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 15, 2023, 02:29:30 AM
I snatched this list off of Twitter but I thought it was cool so I’m posting it here. It shows the prominent players that are expected to be moved this off-season and the teams that have the best odds of getting them. Not so sure the Lakers would let LeBron leave and then sign Kyrie…

LeBron James: Mavericks
Damian Lillard: Heat
James Harden: Rockets
Kyrie Irving: Lakers
Russell Westbrook: Knicks
Trae Young: Lakers
Chris Paul: Spurs
Draymond Green: Jazz
Fred VanVleet: Suns
Khris Middleton: Thunder
Nikola Vucevic: Celtics
Brook Lopez: Rockets
Al Horford: Hawks
D’Angelo Russell: Suns
Dillon Brooks: Heat
DeAndre Ayton: Mavericks

Interesting list.  It would be something seeing Lebron and Luca playing together down in Dallas. If you wanted to win a championship, wouldn't you try and keep Kyrie too?  I'm going off all memory here, but I'm assuming this list says Lebron to Dallas for Kyrie because Lebron I'm guessing is locked up with LA for the next season or two.

Sad not seeing my Bulls on this list anywhere.  They are in no mans land right now, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.  Ugh

I read today that the Bulls are looking to pickup Russell Westbrook or Chris Paul so you’d better hope they don’t make any moves. Lol

Kendrick Perkins today talking about how he think James Harden will sign with the Lakers. Not sure about that either. With LeBron and Harden both resting on defense they’ll get blown out every night.

Yes, very interesting list indeed, a lot of good names in there, some we are expecting to move out like Ayton or Lillard. But the majority, it might be a hit or miss, and then we have Brooks, who could be one of the most hated players in the NBA right now, joining the Heat? Miami is pretty much stack up as shown this season when they reach the Finals. So I don't know which team is going to be interested on Brooks specially on how he talks, he could be. a toxic team mate or could affect others around him, just saying.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 14, 2023, 10:47:53 AM
KCP is now twice a NBA champion, first with the Lakers and now with Denver Nuggets.
Dude, I really like KCP.

He's been traded after winning the title with Lakers and now he's with the Denver Nuggets. I hope that he won't be traded again and he's good to stay with his team. They've got a chemistry and he's always there when he's needed on those important minutes of the game.

I really don't know what the Lakers traded him though, I guess it's just the series of the Lakers trying to upgrade their roster and getting rid of him. And I think Lebron has confidence in KCP, perhaps it was just the mentality.

But they won a ring together so that's good. And now another one for KCP this time with Jokic. And if I'm not mistaken, there is another former Laker on that roster, which is Thomas Bryant, who requested to be traded at the deadline because he doesn't want the minutes and exposure he got from the Lakers when AD comes back. However, he didn't play that much with the Nuggets as well, but still he is an NBA champion as well.
Le-GM wants Westbrook that badly at that time that he's willing to give up players just to get him.
Well, we saw what happened to the Lakers after that controversial trade I would say.

Aside from the players you've said. Let's give credits to DeAndre Jordan as well who didn't play in the whole NBA Finals obviously, but did got a championship ring. He even surpassed his old teammate CP3 who until now doesn't have ring at all, and now has been waived from the Suns. Ish Smith who played for 13 teams for 13 NBA seasons. Jeff Green, the veteran on the team who now got a title. Now the question is will the same Nuggets roster can repeat it. It's too early I guess, so let them enjoy the fruits of their hard work.

I just want to ask because I want to have a different topic here aside from the ones that you have right now. We know already that Lillard wants to be out of Trail Blazers already. Now there hasn't been any confirmation, but the team that might suit him the best is the Miami Heat. What do you think? Will Lillard really fit with the Heat, and if yes, who will be the ones that they're willing to give for him?

I guess it's kinda late for Lillard to ask for trade, but not sure what Miami Heat though? We know that Kevin Love wanted to play with Portland as he is a native on that city and we thought that he will move and then played with Lilliard.

So not sure if that will be a good trade if ever though, seems that Miami is really set to just have low key players. Of course they have Butler, but he is a good leader and I doubt that Pat Riley is wiling to trade with his superstars. Plus Dame has been plagued with injuries already that's why I said it's kinda late for him or even the Blazers to trade him. But let's see, how it goes, maybe some other teams are willing to pick up his services.
1051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLYGON as a national currency. on: June 14, 2023, 06:58:17 AM
Nope i don,t thinking about than when polygon matic is national currency but we know as well Polygon Matic is very good & very strong project and long term purpose good choice for everyone who love crypto.
I guess you are joking about that. Since when altcoins are strong? SEC was cracking down polygon and it's enough to destroy this token. Relying in the altcoins as national currency is a very big mistake. It has proven that if polygon dumped so hard this time.
I think that your statement was not true to call it as strong token.

Every altcoin can be treated as securities, if that is what the direction sEC is going after. And if that happens then obviously, no altcoin can be treated as national currency.

Second, altcoin such as Polygon is very volatile, so I doubt that any government in the world would take it as currency.

Third, the support of the community. Yeah, there could be consensus, but I doubt that it could reach as high as what let's say Ethereum has. If ever there is a good altcoin to be a candidate to become a national currency, perhaps it could be Ethereum.
1052  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2024 halving less than 1 year away on: June 14, 2023, 02:37:01 AM
^^ But I wouldn't put to much on this case though, and again, we didn't bleed, if the price goes < below $20k when the news about the SEC vs Binance then yeah, maybe you can call that bleeding. But if we can maintain $26k and the have a good support at $25k, then this is just another roadblock for us.

And as we have said, halving is just less than a year from now, and as much as we might see this negative news around. We could end up still at being very positive since the block halving is the catalyst for a eventual bull run.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 14, 2023, 01:59:37 AM
Donaire might have thought of retiring when Inoue didn't move, but since Inoue has moved up, he feels that there's an opportunity again for him to become a champion. So he is waiting for another shot that, until now, hasn't happened yet. As fans, we will continue to be hopeful to see him fight again and witness him win using his signature punches. Right now, there's nothing we can do but wait, as eventually he will get a championship fight.
Donaire actually has a relatively old age and deserves to retire but as you said since there is a chance to get the champion he is still waiting for some fights for the title.
There have been many championships he won during his career in boxing and he is one of the many boxers to have world titles in all four weight classes.

I'm still curious and waiting who knows who will be his opponent in fighting for the title in his class.

I'm not really sure what you mean by deserves to retire? As far as we know he can still fight, it's the timing though, Inoue is rising up and they are in the same division. And I will agree that age has a factor for Donaire losing those 2 fights.

However, since Inoue has move up already, Donaire has a good chance to win another belt, maybe this fight we will see him becoming a champion again.

That's why we are all interested and excited to see this fight. And now that we have a date, it's barely just a month from now.

1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 13, 2023, 10:52:36 AM
Yes, it seems that this is destiny for the Nuggets team to win for this year.

I also go with the -6.5 win by the Nuggets and I thought that they can cover this spread or could win in double digits. But the Heat tries to hang on, specially in the 4th which is very close if not for the last minute or 2 wherein you see that the Nuggets wanted it more than the Heat.

So congrats to the Nuggets team winning the NBA championship for this year.
1056  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: June 13, 2023, 03:08:54 AM
$ 80k is very high for this year and I believe more for this year to $ 50k because it is still realistic for me,
$ 80k is a reached a new all time high and a new all time high for Bitcoin usually it will be reached when the halving is finished,
while this year Bitcoin haven't done it yet and will do so in 2024, so it could be 2024 or 2025 Bitcoin reaches a new all time high.

Even $50K seems high to me given all the headwinds we’re facing. I think we’re likely to sit around $40K at the end of the year as we head into the halving. Once that is behind us, I think the market will see that the price is getting ready for another bubble and that’s when the FOMO will begin and things will get interesting.
Well even some says $300k within 24 months awaits!

We might hit by several huge negative sentiment in the last few months and probably will continue till the end of the year falling to below $10k even worse. One thing that bitcoin believer have to notice is that if you guys zooming out the charts and stick to the long bull run journey .. $80k is very much makes sense due the halving and high demands increasing year after year .. the popularity and the adoption getting spread wider and wider. $80k-$100k to achieve within 12 months now , i voted for that.

But the OP is looking at $80k before the bull run? so I doubt that it will happen as you have said we have a lot of negative sentiments right now and we don't know if there will be another black swan even this year.

As for the bull run, yeah, $300k might be huge for us and of course we want to see that price. But realistically, I would just say that $150k-$180k might be a good range to predict. And we are less than a year for the bitcoin halving, so I guess we should just prepared and look for the best in the future, whatever the price will be.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 13, 2023, 12:50:02 AM
The Houston Rockets seem to think they’re going to be able to get James Harden on their roster for next year, but have come out to say that in the event they are unable to get Harden, they will be pursuing Kyrie Irving. Not sure Kyrie has any interest in playing there, but I suspect after his antics the last few years he won’t have as many options as he thinks.

I thought that James Harden is done with Houston already? so I don't think it's going to be a good choice for him to comeback there. Although the personnel has change a lot, it might be better for him to stay with Joel an still go and chase that ring next year.

As for Kyrie, yeah, this is going to be a great option for him. He might not get other opportunities to play and with good contract to boot because of his on/off court antics.
1058  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Goal Achievement on: June 10, 2023, 11:23:24 PM
Bitcointalk is a broad community where bitcoin technologies and informations are been discussed, so what I observed in Bitcointalk is that for me to go further I have to read what others has written properly and make my contributions to where I understand a discussion. Another thing I notice that contributes to achieving our goals easily here is by making a good sentence with punctuation marks where necessary and correct spellings because good sentence will make a reader to understand our point of view properly, observation plays a major role in achieving our goals here because when you observe some you feel thats not well explained you can ask question for more explanation or you may even quite the person on the contrary that's if you know it , seriousness is another way of making our goals to be fulfilled, I wish to be like other member who has achieve some goals in this forum.

This is a community, so you have to converse nicely. You might have missed a punctuation marks here and there or maybe the sentence construction is not correct, it's understandable though, majority of us here are not native speaker to begin with, so we are going to make mistakes.

But the thing is that members here knows that, so most of the time they will try their best to understand what you are trying to point out, or if you have questions then they will give you a feedback that they know you can understand.

Just continue to go around different boards and for sure you will learn a thing or two along the way.
1059  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is on 30k how was your feelings ? on: June 10, 2023, 05:35:56 AM
We hope the price can touch $30k again, almost 2 months the price is below $30k, but the good thing is the price can stay above $25k, to be able to reach a new record of course it needs a fantastic increase and in June it should touch $30k soon.

The price of bitcoin will near the point of 30k in a couple of months, even though the current price is 26k dollars.Because many people get into bitcoin as they come to know the next halves of bitcoin is 2024.If you really had money to inverse in cryptocurrency, you should choose of bitcoin and at the price below 30k dollars. And 30k$ is not huge as compared to the all time high of bitcoin which is 68k dollars. The 30k is just like the half the price of all time high of bitcoin price.

We've reach $30k though and that is why this thread is open and it seems everyone is happy to see that. But there after, the price seems to not keep us as it went down in the last couple of months and in this month alone, the price is still trading sideways at $26k. So after the temporary $30k and what it brings to investors, suddenly we found our selves in the crossroads again and hoping that we will see the $30k.

The good thing is that we still have a lot of months this year, and maybe we will not just reach $30k, we may even surpassed it as usually in the last quarter, the price actions seems to pick up.
1060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Security and Privacy in the Crypto Market on: June 10, 2023, 05:00:22 AM
The crypto market has experienced rapid growth in recent years. However, behind this tremendous potential lie serious challenges related to security and privacy.

What many people are asking is what are the main challenges faced in protecting the security and privacy of users in the crypto market? How can the crypto industry overcome these challenges?

In terms of what? hacks? then do used hardware wallets, make a very hard password that is not easy to break. Used 2FA or Google Authenticator.

On the outside world, don't talk to anyone about how your crypto investments is, whether it's big or just enough for you. Don't trust anyone. We all know that "byob" - Be our own Bank so that alone will tell us to be very very careful already.

And for the wallets, protect your private keys and do not divulge it to anyone.
