For long or mid term is yes, but for short term i dont think it will be fast, the BTC is not stable yet and still forming more triangles uptrend to attach more investor to come in, IMHO
For me top 5 alts at marketcap still my fave (for mid term investment), i still add more small bag while its correction today.

The market always changed make the price volatile, and your strategy become obsolete if you not following to changed too, thats the fact that we have. What OP said is true, one particular strategy of trading can't be use all the time, and we must follow the trend to get profit from our trade.
But besides all of that, the market not truly changed, its just turning around in the big circle, the trend is not totally changed, just shifted a bit for some time and will come back another time, IMHO, so your old strategy will be used someday.

Technically you will know where the market will go with your datas and much observation, but trading is not just technically analysis, theres alot of factor will bring price to random direction. In this case, your experience will make your technical analysis more stable and give a clearer picture in taking the next step. So in my opinion, profit from trading cannot be instant, trading is a matter of time and your personal experience based on proper technical analysis.
