1041  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be 10k+ Q1 2014. on: December 12, 2013, 11:40:16 PM
Bitcoin is stupid enough to be driven to 10k with no more than 50M USD

At exchanges is around 100M USD
You need ten times more USD at exchanges for 10k to have about the same price stability
1042  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What does the China Bitcoin ban mean? on: December 09, 2013, 12:38:11 AM
It means that the prices should decrease now Smiley

Which it is. Why did they ban BTC in the first place?

No banning at all, just explaining Banks cannot open Bitcoin accounts for people or buy/sell Bitcoin
1043  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Energy and resources required by bitcoin mining on: December 09, 2013, 12:34:05 AM
I am still not convinced about the sustainability of a system that, if massively adopted, will require probably tens of GW worldwide and hundreds/thousands of server farms around the world that calculate hashes. Am I missing some key point?

Bitcoin would work even with few computers mining. But the higher difficulty, the more secure Bitcoin is. So the security (hashrate) of Bitcoin will be only as high as it will be profitable to mine.
1044  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Legal on: December 09, 2013, 12:27:15 AM
Ah. I read that banks in China are now allowed to trade in Bitcoins. What about that?

No they cant and never will, but dont worry, Banks dont sell/buy Gold or other precious metals as well...
1045  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining dead for home users? on: December 09, 2013, 12:21:47 AM
I believe there will always be some profitable coin to mine for home users with their CPU or GPU. Our hobby will not die hopefully
1046  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stock Exchange data manipulation on: December 09, 2013, 12:16:52 AM
The fiat currency has been manipulated. I think that stock exchanges are manipulating the value of btc. Btc has no intrinsic value. How do we know that the buy orders and volume are genuine consumers imputing value on btc not bots or fakes? We only see the front end not the back end they can easily change the value of all alt currency.

I am a cryptocurrency believer but it just sounds too shady if it isn't regulated.

You can test it with buying or selling and make withdrawal.
1047  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do I keep hearing mining is unprofitable? on: December 05, 2013, 01:19:09 AM
This is one more thing I don't get. I also read about it in group buys. They say: "when our group miners are no longer profitable we sell them and share the money". But who is going to buy non-profitable miners?

Here ya go.  People are always buying non-profitable miners... I have no idea why.

If you buy with USD you have hope you make profit if Bitcoin price rise. And it seems it is hard to understand how the difficulty works and how quickly you can mine much less / day
1048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin may now level off... on: December 05, 2013, 01:02:03 AM
I still prefer to hold 100 ounces of Gold than 100 Bitcoins at USD 1240....

Ok, keep holding the gold. There are many ounces of Gold, way more than 21 million.

1050  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 1.49 stolen on: November 29, 2013, 12:23:04 AM
Sorry for your loss. Reinstall your OS.

Good trick is test everything with small BTC sums to check if your system is clear.
1051  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's getting frothy, and I'm dumping 75% of my coins on: November 29, 2013, 12:13:38 AM
hmmm, I would call bitcoin stable when it spends months between 120 and 150

however it seems some believe stable is going from 150 to 400 in under 1 month?

yeah it could go to 500, 800, 1000........   but when this thing goes into full panic it falls faster than anything i have ever seen. So for me, nothanks. If it makes it to 1000 I'll sell all my remaining 25%.

Seems nice plan, so now out of Bitcoins and waiting for the unevitable crash ?
1052  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 1 oz GOLD on: November 28, 2013, 11:58:29 PM
There are a lot  more than 12 million ounces of gold on the planet though. Comparing 1 ounce to 1 bitcoin is pretty arbitrary. Maybe wait till we hit market capitalisation parity (which is nowhere close to that of silver yet, let alone gold)

This is true, but TV news about 1 ounce Gold = 1 bitcoin cannot hurt
1053  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitCoin to $1,000,000 ??? on: November 24, 2013, 04:08:11 PM
Im pretty sure when bitcoin reach $1,000,000 MtGox exchange will be long forgotten
1054  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do with 25 bitcoins? on: November 24, 2013, 04:03:29 PM
Bet it all.
In bitcoinsports.eu!! ;p I see you are taking brand promotion really seriously. Cheesy

Some like to gamble, make 1.000 BTC out of 25 BTC would be real change in my live, and when initial bankrol is free, you can just freerolling
1055  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How easy was it for you to obtain your 1st BTC? on: November 24, 2013, 03:56:16 PM
Sending money to exchange was not the easiest thing, but mission accomplished. Wish here is Bitcoin ATM, would be easier... but little troubles is ok for us, early adopters  Smiley
1056  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Crash on: November 24, 2013, 03:49:15 PM
I wouldn't mind a small crash though. I've been waiting for days now for the right time to buy some more. Ah well, there is always next week right?

Maybe this Monday, would make sence, new Monday deposits and bull trap
1057  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Want to buy Bitcoins, but I'm late, what would you do? on: November 20, 2013, 12:19:41 AM
I would like to add, that you could consider diversifying your portfolio. That is almost always a valid approach to investing in anything. I would take a look at Alt coins that you can buy for pennies. There are several that I think could be the silver to bitcoins gold. If you cant afford gold, silver is usually a good investment.

But there are so many worthless alt coins, and only few with some hope. For newbie it is better not consider putting money to alt coins
1058  Economy / Speculation / Re: Am I the only one who feels relieved when the price goes down? on: November 20, 2013, 12:16:18 AM
The smarty people cashed out at 700-900.

Will be buying again around 300-500.

A lot of bulls licking their wounds right now.  Cheesy

Its easy to say this now, right ?  Smiley

1059  Other / Off-topic / Re: how far back in time would you go? on: November 20, 2013, 12:10:45 AM
Back in time seems impossible, but I would like to see the future if Bitcoin is here after 20 years instead  Wink
1060  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's getting frothy, and I'm dumping 75% of my coins on: November 14, 2013, 12:51:13 AM
I think this will go to 1000 before correction..

the chinneses still sees prices below 500 as extremely cheap.

I doubt, corection will happen much sonner. Its good decision to dump part of coins. At least I hope, I already dumped some
