1041  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: April 02, 2014, 12:33:58 AM
What are the acceptable, or rather, max temps for the S1? Mine are 48-49c, which seems to have caused over 6% HW errors, or about 6-7gh/s off of my speed.
1042  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Antminer S1 , printscreen comments! on: April 02, 2014, 12:28:13 AM

Quite high HW for me, but very little rejects Cheesy
Unless trolling that's over 50% rejects, this means you are mining as if with 90gh/s.
1043  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: April 01, 2014, 09:57:03 PM
Also, does anybody know how to reduce the fanspeed a bit? It's quite loud.

Looks like I'm screwed, I called the retailer and told him I want to swap the PSU for something else as this one isn't "enough", obviously the answer I got wasn't satisfying, so guys. Suggest me how to make it work, I have no devices to plug in the 5v line, and the ones that I did were not enough.

if you buy one please tell the seller I told you.   philipma1957

I buy a lot from him.  he will drop price about 25 - 50 cents on one piece.

also once it runs  try under clocking to freq 325 vs standard 350.
The problem was not the paperclip trick, the problem was as explained by GiLa. Plugging in a simple CD-ROM drive/HDD fixed the problem for me. However, it's a dirty fix.
1045  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: April 01, 2014, 06:47:15 PM
Hi all. Pretty new to all of this since I got my S1 just today. It's hashing (avg speed) 178.3Gh/s, is it possible to do an overclock(a slight one) where I can get the speed at or over 180gh/s? I am not talking about OCing the thing to get 200+, just a slight one to get the advertised speed of 180gh/s?

Also, is there any reason why I should need to update the firmware(if there is one)?

Im pretty sure I just answered your question above

it be easier, cheaper and safer if you bought a proper one

Dogie's made a list of power supplies you can use

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=486121.msg5354145#msg5354145

Also Jonny Guru does a lot of testing of power supplies

http://www.jonnyguru.com/
Too late, already bought it, no time to replace. So what do I do to make it work exactly?
1048  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: PSU shuts down with the S1 Antminer. on: April 01, 2014, 02:44:37 PM
was doing bit of research when I bought my PSU just in case this would happen anyways I refer

anyone have list for power supply that work with S1 ?
I just kill a Corsair VS550 after 3 minutes powering S1.
one member say use corsair RM850, any cheaper ?
Is it actually dead? The problem is that the VS series is group regulated, so it uses both the 5V line and the 12V line in its feedback circuit. If you draw current from only the 12V rail, the voltage on the 12V rail will drop a lot (sometimes under 11V) and the 5V rail will go really high, which can cause it to shut down. I have a VX450 that is similar, it will shut down if I try to run a Single or S1 on it, but if I draw 1A from the 5V rail it runs fine.

so you need to suck up 1Amp usage on the 5V cable
And how do you do that?
1049  Bitcoin / Mining support / PSU shuts down with the S1 Antminer. on: April 01, 2014, 02:35:43 PM
I bought a S1 and got this PSU http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vs-seriestm-vs550-550-watt-power-supply

I use the paperclip trick, turn on the PSU(works fine), the antminer also powers up and I can access the settings panel, but after 2 minutes or so, the PSU just outright shuts down...what the hell is wrong?

It's a bug with blockchain.info.
1052  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.893 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 31, 2014, 09:00:31 AM
Yeah my orders are shipped  Grin And will be here tommorow!
Same here dude, I even checked the tracking number, it's within my country, however I hope I don't have to travel to the capital(that's where it is right now) to get it(I have to pay VAT, UPS etc and then paying for transport to and from the capital I'll never ROI).
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DigiByte Mining Have Problem.Help Pls. on: March 31, 2014, 08:03:17 AM
Well what do you expect? DigiByte is an scrypt coin, and you are trying to mine with an ASIC designed for Bitcoin, which is SHA-256 based. So yeah, this ASIC can only mine Bitcoin or any other SHA-256 coin.
1054  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.893 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 31, 2014, 08:00:13 AM
Paid 3 days ago or so, still unshipped but valid and paid. Do you think they shipped it or they don't work Saturday and Sunday?

Did you get any update on shipping?  Mine is still 'valid unshipped'

Cheers
Not yet, still Paid,Unshipped,Valid. Hopefully they actually sent it and it would be here within 3-4 days.

I am new to all of this, how come there are no dividends? I see in the past dividends they come around every week or so, but it's not as of the last 10 days.

Well apart from the crashing price, here in the real world a family member has cancer and will have surgery soon, it's also possible for the cancer to come back and then we have expensive chemo and months(or years?) of fighting..

why would you buy ant miners that only make $10 usd aday in btc?
then there is other companies shipping 1 th machines in april driving up the difficulty, lowering your 10 usd?HuhHuh?
I am not looking at how much $ it makes, but how much B it makes. If I pay 1BTC for it(0.893 for me), I want that much back at the very least. I don't really care for how much $ it makes.

Anyway, I wanted to ask how long till they ship? My order is now around 30 hours old, is Paid and Valid, still Unshipped.

What happened on the 5th of November?

seriously as for the shipping it varies .often it is never marked as shipped and shows up at your door.

Where do you live USA? Europe?

I am in the USA  I get them via UPS  and I ordered 50 hours ago

 order id is

00120140326194910073nTN38Sss06A9

Date order is

DATE:
2014-03-26 19:49:10

It is marked paid and unshipped.  I hope to see it  at my home in NJ no later then this monday the 31st
I live in Europe, you see the reason I want to see "Shipped" is because I will know that they used the current price of 0.893 BTC/USD price. If the price goes up and they use the new price my VAT will increase and my ROI time also goes higher.
