Mine to your own wallet, full node preferred but not essential to receive funds.
1042  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Current List of Competitive Hardware - October 2018 on: October 09, 2018, 04:54:06 AM
Yes MyRig, I would consider them worthy to list in referance to the T1.

Also MicroBT website correct? No real links and a bunch of wechat qc's? Contact email comes back undeliverable.
1043  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: October 08, 2018, 09:01:02 PM
Gear is at good prices so big or small will gear up. If the s9 thrives a little longer so be it. I imagine, like others do, diff will grow. Sideways only if stability of market drops but 6k pricing has endured well and is expected to continue. Since lower market will drive buying BTC, stability will continue even with a dip. What is hurting market is absorbent pricing, not as bad as 4k a unit or more but still gouging the small consumer regardless of US tariffs or not.

Canaan is driving market well. 921 looks good and expectation for 941 is that it leads the market with Bitmain studdering. As they should deliver a competitor and best price.

Difficulty up.
1044  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Current List of Competitive Hardware - October 2018 on: October 08, 2018, 08:39:50 PM
Cool thread. How often you think you'll maintain?

Also, T1's are still accessible.
1045  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Suggested Bitcoin Core Pruned Node Size on: October 08, 2018, 06:40:40 PM
I'm installing a pruned node on a mobile device, I was surprised that 2GB was default but seemed pretty low. The more I'm able to store the better I imagine?
1046  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: US Tariff Ruling N297495 = 2.6% mandatory tariff on bitcoin mining hardware on: October 08, 2018, 06:14:30 PM
Just for the record for everyone, I've received a bill for both 25% under 9903.88.02 and 2.6% under 8543.70.9960 via FedEx for an order of 18 x S9j with an import date of 9/15/18.

Looks good. What did FedEx charge for customs support?
1047  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Mine.Farm.Buy- Group and solo batch buys and single miner brokers on: October 07, 2018, 08:40:23 PM
We've updated listings for the most current releases to better fit our model of group buying. Visit often for updates, new releases, and pricing. Always request a quote if you need to.

Welp, 821's are powered down now. 2x s7, and now 2x 821 just waiting for big bull run. At least until I can get my exhaust worked out the s9's are running pretty cool sub 60C at night and no more than 80C during the day as I have it right now.
1049  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Whatsminer M1 33TH/s 65w/TH , Nov/18 Batch on: October 07, 2018, 05:16:15 PM
Can we contest the tariff since the asic doesn't really fit the definition for it.

You would have to contest the ruling in place, as well as propose a new one. Which you would want to have a ruling outside the scope of the 301 action (tariffs), most likely though you'd still pay something. I think domestic shipping in the US will be more than $50 if insured. The psu group buy we did and was close to $40 in shipping for a psu to ship across country (west coast to east). Some customers were only charged about a quarter of that which we soak on an error.

Is 1450 price with tariffs included? otherwise pano is listing 12/30 batch for about the same.

These tend to over deliver, I finally found the six we got and push 90-110gh stock.

Code:

 "hashrate5m": "96.9G",
 "hashrate1hr": "94.3G",

Also, looks like poorly constructed marketing of some kind? You know I know all about shitty marketing.
1051  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newbie, What entry level miner but not BITMAIN on: October 07, 2018, 04:30:40 PM
921 is great choice, I think I posted tired eyed math in another thread as I keep thinking the 921 is 18th but it's 20th at 1800w. Otherwise spend the money for a M10 or T2T32T. If you're really new just get a few 2pac from sidehack and see how that goes.
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the new AntMiner DR3 (Decred ASIC Miner) on: October 07, 2018, 04:08:16 PM
Lame, we have a few orders we just had manufacturers hold till after the holiday, so they could transit more fluidly. If we're lucky we'll see batch two ship notifications start coming tonight or tomorrow.

You ordered these into the US? With traiffs none our batch one's went into the states.
1053  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: October 07, 2018, 03:59:44 PM
Well, cheers all. It's 9am so just a small celebratory sip.
1054  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: October 04, 2018, 05:57:21 AM
We'll zero fee and 1 hash = 1 hash. This isn't the pool for impulse mining or hoppers. My derp has tripled, who's got some scotch or bourbon ready for a block find?
1055  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: US Tariff Ruling N297495 = 2.6% mandatory tariff on bitcoin mining hardware on: October 04, 2018, 05:43:11 AM
That brings up an interesting query: Do the new 25% tariffs apply to any miner-related components made in China? eg, inductors, resistors, caps, etc. I know they apply to a helluva lot of optical components and laser diodes.

If they do (or in the future, can) how it could effect Non-China based companies that offshore production to China? CoilCraft (US owned) comes to mind for one, they make high current inductors as seen on all hash boards. Wonder if they would be exempt?

It's possible you could include the components into the same ruling as BF posted a page or so back as it addresses accessories and parts as part of the ruling. Off shore manufacturing is ruled the same as regardless of there the company is based. Nike makes footwear in China, shoes are still imported and subject to duties (for example, not sure what footwear rates would be).

So I have been working with a customs attorney on this situation and from what we understand is components are not a part of the tariff.

For example, if china ships the individual cats that form Voltron to Canada. If they are reshipped to the USA as is they would face the tariff. If you combined the units into Voltron and shipped Voltron over, you would not be subject to the tariff because the product is materially different from the way it left China.

Components are part of the new tariff, but as you describe if assembly is done outside of China prior to import would only be subject to the 2.6% not the additional 25% if a full "ADP machine". The real move would be to manufacture components in such a way outside of China as to bring them still into the US as a component, would alleviate any duty if classified correctly.

So assembly of the cats in CAN, then importing the cats into the US to form Voltron, to fit the example given. Of course receiving exemption makes all this effort null and still reduces costs for all parties keeping chains developed intact. Worst case this example would fill the bill if exemption is not approved. Our biggest argument is the fact that the US would be reducing, delaying progress and traction we've gained in the mining arena in what is billions of dollars of potential revenue.
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the new AntMiner DR3 (Decred ASIC Miner) on: October 03, 2018, 02:58:53 PM
Do you guys think this is worth buying for the current batch? (considering shipping to US)

Depends on what you mean worth? US buyers won't see ROI before new equipment is released in two months on $0.10 power. If you're able to get 4mo. of good profit you may break even but that's very optimistic. Conservatively you should capture $400 back safely and push to drive market by trading to BTC to increase scarcity and value in hand. Or you're betting on bull and gearing up for a good run, or have very cheap power and can afford the risk of larger farming operation. Or you already mine blake256 and looking for cheap th/w upgrades.

Does anyone have info on the import duty with DHL?

27.6% listed price.

Hows is the static pressure in those coolers? I wouldn't have thought these would be that loud to necessitate a sound box.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sia Network After Fork on: October 02, 2018, 02:55:13 PM
I don't assume people trust any link shoved in their face but suppose it would have been courteous.

They will have to fork at least once a year to prevent making new miners.  Overall is good because tehy will have way more smaller miners.

Are you saying this is good because the network will be smaller? Or that they'll have more miners with lower hashrate?

Buy them locally? Maybe, I'd just buy straight from Bitmain though.
