the update will be accepted by all.

I think that I'll dump Gavincoins and hoard the good coins.
1042  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin chart patterns (You ain't seen nothing yet) on: June 04, 2015, 03:19:06 PM
Ok, the charts look alike, but why would it follow that specific pattern? Because some people call it digital gold?

in a sense, yes. But I don't think that bitcoin price is manipulated as much as gold price (yet).
But now both have the same reason to rise:

Make your guess on these:

1044  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 04, 2015, 06:02:13 AM
But then, again, if the adoption happens fast and you want to use bitcoin for microtransactions and destroy Visa,Paypal,Stripe etc, then you will have to face the hard fact that:

7 Billion people doing 2 blockchain transactions per day will require:
 - 24GB blocks
 - 3.6 TB/Day
 - 1.27 PetaBytes/year

So you will realize pretty fast that Moore's/Nielsen's laws cannot keep up with a hyper-growth scenario like this. In the end you will still have to rely on off chain solutions.

Thx for pointing out that Gavincoins are pointless. And there is ppl -like me- who does not want use bitcoin for microtransactions if it takes a fork and an order of magnitude greater bandwidth and storage which means much less full nodes (which are already pathetically few). There are tons of shitcoins for tips and gifts. imho Bitcoin should remain a serious crypto for gentlemen's transactions and store of value, just like gold is. BTW who would wait 3 confirmations to buy a coffee?

Let the market do the allocation thing and the fees doing their job. If it will take getting rid of tons of spam tx so be it.

the fun will begin only if and when the bulls will start withdrawing their cheap coins just bought from the exchanges. Then we'll see who's swimming naked.

I just found the perfect suit for this thread:

Step 4: As enough people ignore them, the situation is no more dangerous than using mobile when you drive.

Step 5: Remember that to succeed as an outlaw you must be honest

1050  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding Gold at BitReserve, yes or no ? on: March 24, 2015, 11:19:53 AM
Let's say I buy and hold 50BTC worth of gold at bitreserve.com .

Gold spikes over night 100% compared to BTC. How will bitreserve have 50BTC more to pay me morning after?

The only answer I can see is that Bitreserve has his own portfolio and actively manage it betting that its managing is more profitable than its users' trading. Because otherwise it could incur in losses to solve your problem.
1051  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Thanasis Collection Pack on: March 22, 2015, 08:41:45 AM
Note that in the second image I had added 28$ in my Bitfinex trading account after starting the bot. Anyway the calculated % Bot gain seems way off. And in any case it did not make a single trade in 4 weeks.

1052  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Thanasis Collection Pack on: March 21, 2015, 05:57:04 PM
I've been running Thanasis ALL WEATHER bot Basic on Bitfinex for 28 days with a starting capital of 2.79 btc and it did not make a single trade.
Where can I ask for a refund?

qui tutto e' sconveniente eccetto la licenza di rapinare che e' la politica e lo statalismo.
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocoins-Dice.com - Looks like another crypto rip off scam. on: March 14, 2015, 03:19:47 PM
As you all know Magi (XMG) use the word fair in many promotions. If you lost XMG by our mistake for not checking this website i will personel pay you back the coins you lost!! Just sent me a pm.
Special thanks for Wpalczynski for inform me about this!

Thanks, but I assume responsibility for my putting my coins in the wrong place. And the loss is a lesson.
Just consider to remove any link or reference to Cryptocoins-Dice.com from any XMG site/thread.

I also made the necessary arrangements to check the identity of Bobbax. We agreed I would keep those information to myself but I can assure you the site is legit (still, only invest what you can afford to lose).

So how about sharing now that his site vanished with his users' coins?

BTW: your assurance were on the basis of what?
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocoins-Dice.com - Looks like another crypto rip off scam. on: March 14, 2015, 11:03:28 AM
So it should be the same for this scammer, we could report him to abuse@ovh.net

maybe to the flics too (french cops).
I had 400K+ doge and a few hundreds XMG there. I will donate all my balance there to whoever get the scammer nailed so to recover the funds.
1059  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: March 07, 2015, 08:01:39 PM
Now with BTC this is impossible, because no paper BTC exist, cannot exist due to limited amount and deflationary behaviour

you say? what about 20X-leveraged exchanges (which btw being unregulated may be fractional reserving, inside trading, front running, and god knows what else, being backed just by pixels on their users' screens), 100X leveraged CFDs, and wait for the incoming btc ETFs.

But I agree that stacking on the cheap some phyzz that one can hold sounds like a good idea.
