It seems there is no right answer to this, a strictly personal preference. This is how I do it, 80% goes towards ETH with the potential to sell and buy more, 18% goes toward a long term 'don't touch' BTC investment, and the rest gets divided between some smaller ALTs (like something regarding gaming) just to see what happens and not expecting anything of it.
1042  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you can sell Bitcoin on Exchange with good rate, why selling to resellers on: September 14, 2021, 08:24:26 PM
Different people have different views on how they want their investments handled. There are numerous reasons, as privacy and trading strategies but also preferences wanting to do business on a more personal note if you could call it that. It all boils down to with whom the seller had the best experience when trading because sometimes the pleasure of doing business is more important than profit margins.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: September 14, 2021, 08:13:45 PM
Did anyone watch it? I reckon Anderson Silva was very fortunate he connected a lucky punch on the head of Tito Ortiz. Ortiz was beginning his attack with strong punches and very fast hand speed with similar head movement like Mike Tyson’s peekaboo strategy.

That's not a lucky punch and fortunate.

It was perfectly timed. It was already anticipated that an opening will happen soon although the question is when. Silva managed to take that opportunity and wasted no time to react, like a usual fighter's instinct. I'm expecting the fight to be a decision but ended up early.

The unfortunate one is we didn't see the action of Oscar Dela Hoya because of Covid-19.

Hehehe I was only joking and being sarcastic. It has also showed that Tito Ortiz might not have trained very well for the fight. It was only an exhibition match and the result will not be recorded. He only wanted to go in the ring, collect his money and go home to his girlfriend hehehe.
How do you know that? Did you read that somewhere? Would you say the same thing if Tito Ortiz had won? I'm not sure about that. Anderson Silva was the huge favorite of this fight at every bookmakers and for almost all people enjoying boxing and MMA IMO. Then he just won because he was better than Ortiz. That's it, there is no need to disrespect his undeniable victory.

Exactly! Some people on here came into this thinking there was a 50-50 chance between the both of them, but those people seemed to have never watched one fight of either of them. Silva did what he does the best and executed everything perfectly. Good on him because his fight against Julio César Chávez was a rear good Boxing fight.
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: September 14, 2021, 07:43:32 PM
Sure, ok, more divisions could solve the problem, but I believe that the whole experience will become watered down and the champions will become more meaningless as no one will be able to remember nor care for so many names. So I still think that fight days might be a better option.
Only heavyweight in UFC don't have to care about their weight and they can eat and drink whatever they want before fight, just look at that fat beast Derrick Lewis  Cheesy

https://www.bellator.com/

Bellator is back this weekend with big fight Bellator 266 Davis vs Romero!
We can finally see Yoel Romero debut in Bellator after coming from two loses in UFC and two canceled fights in Bellator.
Romero is much older and slower than Davis who has 5.5 inch advantage in this fight, and this fight might be more interesting than main event in UFC.

Once upon a time, Mark Hunt had to cut weight to get to the HW upper limit. Yup, you hear me right, he was to heavy for HW XD

And regarding Bellator, wow Mr. Wonderfull vs Romero. Don't know why, but this match-up seems legitimately exciting. The craziest thing is that Davis has had a solid record in Bellator, only losing to Bader and Nemkov. I am leaning towards him for this one.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 14, 2021, 03:19:34 PM
Conor McGregor was making his shitshow again on MTV Video Music Awards and this time he was yelling and taking a swing at Machine Gun Kelly (Megan Fox boyfriend), I think he totally lost his mind and gone crazy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL9JUY18CaM

Hard to believe that this all was only due to a denial to make a damn photo. Money spoiled McGregor. I think he thinks that a man with money can not get a denial.

I can make a rude joke. McGregor is so bad at striking that the only one he can punch are old people. It is no use to make a fourth fight against Poirier Cheesy He wont even hit him.

Conor being Conor. It looks like he lost the idea of how he wants to portray himself. He had some conception on what his public persona should be in the past, but it was highly linked to him winning in the octagon. With that gone he seems to be less aware of how to transition his persona to something that would work with his current status.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 13, 2021, 08:10:06 AM

but in my case, I am still researching and looking at some Ryan Spann fights and looking at his Tatoo Superman on his chest that really indicate fear, maybe not to his opponent but the people watching him fight.
Yeah the tattoos instill fear on the opponent  Cheesy. It just shows he is a little childish to tattoo something that is a fantasy and it will make a smile to your face rather than fear  Tongue.
[/quote]

That tattoo man, it certainly goes in the top 10 worst tats in UFC. His opponents get distracted by it as they start to wonder why the hell anyone would get a tattoo of that XD And can we get a list of all the fighters that have 'Blessed' tattooed on them? Is that a sticker you get when you join the company? Cheesy A bunch of those fighters should rethink their choices XD
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: September 12, 2021, 06:26:26 PM

I thought that the match could have been fixed as well, good money though for Tito if he took a dive in round 1, LMAO. The announcer said that Tito mentions that training in boxing is very different, specially the head movement. And now we see how he paid the price by not moving his head, he got knock out in round 1. If he took a dive then he should not be badly hurt, but in any case, the fans didn't get their money's worth.

I will never think that it's a fix the punch is very real and Ortiz looks groggy on those head punches and these are MMA fighters, not wrestlers in WWE they give it all but Silva proves to be the better fighter he is well trained and has good ring generalship, I never though that it will end so early.

I also don't think that it's fixed fight. Ortiz is no way in the level of Anderson Silva as far as boxing techniques is concern. The difference in this training is very evident, and Ortiz choose to be the aggressor in the fight by coming inside. I thought that Silva's plan was to tire out Ortiz that's why he let him jab him in the beginning. But then when a knock out presents itself, next thing you know Ortiz is lying in the canvass.

I completely agree and am 100% sure this fight is not fixed. What gives people the idea that TITO had any chance in thr fight if Anderson turns up game-ready, and he surely did. It was not a matter of 'IF' Tito will lose but 'HOW' Tito will lose. This was clean, well-executed, and Anderson's bread and butter. Tito is not on his boxing level and that's the end of the story.

I also hope that UFC will use same methods of weighing-in fighters. Their weight cuts I count as cheating. If you are heavy, they go to other division. There is no need to cut 5-15kg before for weight-in and go blackout, and then gain them back or more before fight. This is not normal. This is not fair. That is one of the reasons they get injuries, where there should not be.
The majority of the fighters cut weight to 155 pound division as the divsion above them is 170 pounds and it is a huge gap between weight division and some of the fighters does not fit in the 170 pound and another is 185 pound.

Either they need to add another division between weight classes, after 155 pound division they should add 165 pound and the Welterweight should be 175 pound and if that happens then we might not see these huge weight cutting issues.

For example, Rafael dos Anjos is not a natural 170 pound fighter, since he does not want to stress him body to cut down at 155 pound he is forced to fight at 170 pounds and there are many examples we can cite.

Sure, ok, more divisions could solve the problem, but I believe that the whole experience will become watered down and the champions will become more meaningless as no one will be able to remember nor care for so many names. So I still think that fight days might be a better option.

Don't know if this is still relevant, but for anybody that's new and reading, if you are asking for investment advice on the forum you might not be ready to invest. Do yourself a favor and take the time to learn where your money is going, what to expect of it, and how to plan out your investment. I mean, you can always throw away your money but why do that.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: September 12, 2021, 06:24:48 AM
Well, I was wrong about this being a glorified sparing match, but was right about it being a dipropotional advantage to Silva. It was sad to be honest, those two had no reason to be matched up together. I can't say much about Tito, it now seems he's delusional to think he could win and if he was in it only for money he had to give a chunk of his earnings to Silva because he missed weight. Way to go Tito, not the smartes one out there.
1051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: KNOWLEDGE IS BETTER THAN MERIT on: September 11, 2021, 07:28:33 PM
Knowledge should be the main focus for all newcomers. Now, I know that hunting for sig campains and playing day trader is more atractive, but in the long run, getting a good knowledge base is what will help you remain here for a long time to come. And that's the main thing, to make this a lifelong interest, not a weekend hobby.

For a second there I thought this was a topic about putting bets on who's prayers will get answered XD I'd actually go for that. As for praying for results, I doub't God watches the third Iranian women's basketball division.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 11, 2021, 09:00:48 AM
Alex Pereira's ability to kickbox is fantastic, however when you add in the threat of take downs, I don't think he's going to be able to perform to his best ability. What's great about Israel is he knows how to avoid being taken down, at least so some extent. The fight against Jan was a little different, mainly the size difference. Alex on the other hand has proven to be a fantastic, and probably an elite level kickboxer, but as we've seen time, and time again you can't just switch careers into MMA, and expect to perform to the same standard. If Israel, and Alex fought in the UFC I'd expect Israel to mix it up, due to losing previously against him.

However, I don't expect Pereira to be a top five fighter, and I have my doubts about him reaching the top ten.

I am sure having doubts aswell for Pereira if he is able to be on the top five in a short span of time as well, and you are right we surely don't need to expect something big about him when he is just starting into UFC,

And the thing is why I am talking about Alex Pereira, is it because he is new to UFC, and I surely am curious about what he may do and what he may show us, and because of the Contender series of Dana White I am into the newbie's now and what they can show us moving forward into the future of UFC.

The problem is that Pereira as starpower has certain weight to it and I doubt he will be matched up with other newcomers to UFC. I think we will see the same situation as Saki, and that is unfortunate. However, I am still interested, let's se what he does.

Their cutting policy combined with their gloves is something more organizations should implement. Why they don't is a mystery. You get 10kg differences between weigh-ins and actually fight weight in other organizations, it's just a stupid rule that needs to evolve in what ONE has, it's not '97 anymore.
The OneFC has a much better weight cutting system and i still expect UFC and another organization will adopt them. From what i remember the OneFC checks the weight of the fighters in check well before the weigh ins as they should be around that weight limit even during off season and the weigh cut some of the fighters go through in the UFC is brutal.

Using dehydration as a form of weight cutting can cause some serious problems. We have seen fighters facing lots of health issues because of this weight-cutting method. And when the human body doesn't get enough water it collapses. That's why we see some fighters collapse during weight cutting. And trust me I still don't know how they take their shorts off and meet the weight they need to make. Not like the shots are about kilograms in weight.

Ah, the shorts thing is a slight difference, but if you just miss that slight difference you are fucked, so they just don't want to risk it. Some of them would shave their heads, take their teeth out, and skin if they could shave off some pounds. The whole process is hard, I had a friend do it for a fight (bath tub cutting) and had to have another friend carry him from it as he couldn't walk.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 10, 2021, 11:25:09 AM

I am surprised as he had a solid winning streak until his loss a couple of days ago, but I guess Glory doesn't have the financial capability as UFC does. That being said, I am sceptical of kickboxers transitioning to MMA big leagues that suddenly. Gokhan Saki had more or less the same MMA background when coming into the UFC and unfortunately had nothing to show.

There are different transitions for every fighter switching careers not all people could be as good as Anderson Silva from boxing to the UFC but we can never know until Alex Pereira would simply know what he is doing inside the ring and as a kickboxer, I think he has established his striking very well but he can surely add wrestling into the mix well it is up to a fighter if he would go that route or just stick in plain striking, let's just wait when he fights inside the ring.

Anderson from Boxing to UFC? Not really, he had a couple of boxing fights at the same time as doing MMA and actually started as doing MT and BJJ at the same time.

~
Well, it is up to him to add something to his arsenal and the best way to do it is to add wrestling, but it is still OK if he will go to a Striking route just like Israel Adesanya, he will need to polish his takedown defense to ready himself with an opponent that has Wrestling moves, but yes takedown still has a huge score for the judge, but I think he already polishes with his striking with punch and kicks because he comes from kickboxing so he is really ready when it comes to that aspect, but when it comes to a well-rounded game inside the octagon.
It is not that easy as it is said, to add wrestling at a later stage in career will not be easy, if so everyone would be transitioning well who has a striking background, they would spend time wrestling and they will be the best. There are some fighters like GSP who had a striking background but he is known for his wrestling skills inside the MMA community because he was quick to learn them and implement them against the best wrestlers but you cannot expect everyone to be like GSP.

The best they can do is basic takedown defense and if you are against elite wrestlers like Khabib it wont work either.

Exactly this. Adding something so late in his fighting career is so much harder than just training wrestling. It's not a technique thing, it's a mental thing because you need to start thinking in a completly different way.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: September 09, 2021, 11:22:38 AM
ONE has a good and a bad model of operating. On one hand, they offer diversity with styles and keep fight cards exciting, switching between their version of MT and MMA, however, when it comes to a casual, that tends to get a bit confusing and you are not sure what you are watching, for what they are fighting, so on so forth. Interesting concept though.
They have one more advantage in ONE championship compared with UFC, Bellator and other organizations, there is no typical weight cutting and everyone fights at their real weight.
They are measuring only water in your body so you must be hydrated correctly, and not lose weight with dehydration like bodybuilders and other mma fighters that collapse sometimes.
Most of weight cutting is something like cheating anyway, we see some fighters gain so much weight after weight-ins and they look huge after that.

Their cutting policy combined with their gloves is something more organizations should implement. Why they don't is a mystery. You get 10kg differences between weigh-ins and actually fight weight in other organizations, it's just a stupid rule that needs to evolve in what ONE has, it's not '97 anymore.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: September 09, 2021, 10:43:06 AM
With that spirit, I think there is a good chance for him winning with a KO.

I have my doubts if Anderson Silva and his MMA techniques will be enough to knock out Tito Ortiz, in Boxing there is no favorite until the fight is over.
Spider has a moving ability that Tito probably doesn't have, but a single hard hit from Tito would make Spider fall apart easily and end the fight's brilliance.

Anyway, Boxing isn't a sport that I enjoy, but as I'm an Anderson Silva fan, I'm going to bet on it and keep up with it, hoping not to witness a tragedy.

This is boxing, not the sport that they master, so I would not expect a KO rather, and at their age, I doubt they will still be as aggressive as they were, they will give a little entertainment and they go home with the money they expected, that's it. This fight is just for fun, and in order to be entertaining, thy should keep boxing while ensuring that no one will be hurt seriously.

Sensible comment right here. As we have seen in recent exhibition fights, the goal is to go longer rather than finish with a TKO early as this brings you nothing. And giving the age both might be hesitant to pull the trigger. Again, don't see a reason why a fight like this would be booked in the first place, but to each his own I guess.

Big news for UFC and middleweight category is that kickboxing champion Alex Pereira signed a deal with UFC!
He is 34 years old coming from Brazil and his first UFC fight will be in November against Andreas Michailidis in UFC 268 Usman vs Covington 2.
This fight card is going to be epic with more fights like Rose Namajunas vs Weili Zhang, Justin Gaethje vs Michael Chandler, Al Iaquinta vs Bobby Green and others.
I knew UFC was looking for fresh blood in middleweight division to challenge Adesanya, so they are looking in all directions now, but I am not sure if Pereira will be good enough.

I am surprised as he had a solid winning streak until his loss a couple of days ago, but I guess Glory doesn't have the financial capability as UFC does. The UFC Vegas 36 fight that took place Sunday between Khalil Rountree Jr vs Modestas Bukauskas, was really quite exciting and also terrible in my opinion, at the beginning of the fight the two fighters both responded to each other attacks, however, a hard blow from Rountree was able to destroy Bukaukas nose in first round, I thought the second round would be a revenge round for Bukaukas but unfortunately the fight ended quite horribly in the second round due to the foot stomping technique from Rountree, to be honest I was very surprised by the technique that was quite terrible and it was clear that Bukaukas leg was injured quite badly.

That Sidekick to the knee is really not new, there are other fighters that are executing such kicks you surely haven't notice it because now there is a bad injury and for Modestas Bukauskas, a lot are saying that this is a career-ending injury but in my opinion, it is a bad injury but there is still a percentage of returning back, many are doing this example is with the Robert Whittaker VS Israel Adesanya fight when Whittaker throw it but Adesanya evade it then counter with a high kick, notice how fast Adesanya execute that high kick that is because when this sidekick failed to be executed there is a lot of opportunities for the opponent to counter,

So my take on this kind of technique that many people want to ban, I really don't agree to ban this kick, I think if you ban this kick then ban a strike or attack that will cause brain damage that can be life-threatening for a fighter an injury to the shoulder, back, neck or strike to the vitals punches and kicks to the neck should also be ban in the UFC that can cause serious damage and can even potentially end a life, well just my opinion.

Not new at all, both JBJ and Anderson Silva have used them with great success. When JBJ started to cause damage that's when talks about should it be allowed and is it sportsmanlike were started, but not much has changed. It's not something that is used often but it really is a career killer.
