1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: June 24, 2023, 08:08:06 AM
I've never seen someone saying that trading is fun, it's no fun and yes it's all about making money, the reason why trading is better is because the addiction is not that captivating like gambling, it's easier to walk away from trading than gambling.

You can limit your losses with futures trading unless you don't know what you are doing, all you need is the right skills and there are features like stop loss that are not available on gambling, if you know how to use stop loss you will limit how you lose money.

I just like trading more than gambling because you don't have to deal with emotional garbage, you don't have to set some rules on how you gamble per week, and you can escape total loss when trading.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 24, 2023, 07:00:33 AM
Call it whatever you want but you will only understand if you plan to open your own casino one day, it's like running a crypto exchange illegally and the SEC bouncing on you for running an illegal exchange, KYC is compulsory for every legal online casinos or else they are at a greater risk themselves, instead of thinking that they are trying to scam people using KYC try finding out why they want people to verify their ID first before they withdraw their funds.

If you don't want to see KYC requirements and you want to keep gambling, find online casinos that don't require KYC and make sure they made the statement on their ToS themselves because many won't talk about KYC requirements until you manage to win some money first.

If this is why you think they can't be trusted, I am on your side too, but before using any online casino you need to find answers yourself, presumably from other users on this forum.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 22, 2023, 08:17:55 AM
Is it possible for a casino to go bankrupt because a player gets a very big win?

I think maybe that's hard to happen if we look at casinos that are already big and well known. But suppose there is a new casino, and there are some players who are very good at playing, so they can win continuously, can the casino go bankrupt? or do they already have an algorithm or a way so players can't keep winning?
If the casino is very new and they don't have a certain amount of money to pay the winner, they can come to an agreement of paying the money monthly into the. Winners' accounts on the casino platform, that is if the online casino is a genuine business running by good people that want to progress with their business.

Most new online casinos will pay some amount and avoid paying the rest, if you make too much noise they will ban you from their platform and that's it, no coming back from that, some new online casinos have no mercy at all towards gamblers, that's why I don't like using a brand new casino.
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: June 22, 2023, 06:43:11 AM
I think the young man did a good job, but his father refused the money because he was a conservative person. He should think of ways to spend the money without telling his father about it. He can buy Bitcoin with his money and thus manage to hide it from his father. The young person in the news is over 18 years old. His father must now respect him in some matters. He may have conservative views on some issues, but he must respect his son's choices. Otherwise, they will have different discussions within the family and they will never be able to establish a healthy dialogue.

that son must have loved his father so much that he told his father about his big gambling win, but he did not understand more deeply about the character of his parents. conservative parents have a high degree of aversion to gambling (especially those who are truly religious) and it is difficult to change the perspective of parents with that type because for them money is not the most important thing but staying away from sin is the most important (I also have parents with this type of hardness and it's hard to change their way of thinking).
I thought the sons know their fathers better than any one else? He should have known that his father will reject this because they lived together for years, there must have been something like this happening in the family before, when someone is religiously committed they tend to see wrongs in most things that people are doing in the world today to make a living, I will like to ask this son face to face if he knew not that his father will act in this such manner because he should have saw it coming.

1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 21, 2023, 09:22:23 AM
It depends on the country, when government put a ban on crypto in my country, the only way left for them to know if I am still doing illegal crypto transaction is my bank account and as someone who don't use bank account for any crypto related transaction I was free.

Ban on crypto will affect using your crypto to purchase or make transaction in the country, you can't go to store nearby and use crypto to pay, since it's illegal, but online? I won't worry much, I wonder how they will know, all you have to do is use peer to peer and you are free.

This won't stop me from gambling on any online casinos either, it makes no sense, because we have DEX platforms and also P2P ways of buying and selling crypto.
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Asset Or Currency? on: June 21, 2023, 08:20:30 AM
There is no way Bitcoin can serve as a global currency in a centralized world, it's more of an asset than a currency, and it would be impossible to imagine it doing so as a global asset. It's not going to happen, but it's perfect as a people's currency. Bitcoin is people's money, and because it is a real decentralized digital currency, the government will never gain control over this beautiful innovation.

Moreover, who needs Bitcoin to become a global currency? None I guess, that's why the power to kill Bitcoin is not in the hands of the government or any law, the future that awaits Bitcoin is massive value as time goes on.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: June 21, 2023, 06:19:34 AM
They are both at fault of been too greedy, the gambling agent want to make more money by force, from someone he knew that's already addicted to gambling and probably won't be able to pay back what he owes, yet, he still cruise with the deal.

The gambler himself doesn't care, because his last hope is using the loan to make more money, there are people who do this stupid thing and it turned good for them, instantly they believe they are the smart ones, but not everybody will be that lucky.

Now this person will see why taking loans to gamble is a very bad idea, because the gambling agent will have to use force to make him pay what he owes, I always feel like loan sharks and others feel happy when someone owes them money, they are always prepared to go to war with debtors.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: June 20, 2023, 09:34:17 AM
I would rather gamble to entertain myself than trying to walk my way up to some LVL on a casino, I believe this will get you addicted to gambling and you will easily lose your control over your rules and limits.

Professional gamblers? Are there any at all? The prevalence of expert gamblers are focusing on sports bets, because it's still better than some online casino games of luck, still they always lose money too, there is no way anyone won't lose money when gambling, this is not mathematics where all you need is calculations.

Prevent yourself from going bankrupt, gambling should not be your source of daily bread, if you are not gambling to entertain yourself, you shouldn't be gambling.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 Reasons Why You Should Run Your Own Bitcoin Full Node on: June 20, 2023, 07:34:28 AM
The funny thing is most people are still leaving their coins on a centralized exchange, hoping people to run full node is completely impossible. The reason is they don't want to pay extra fees, downloading a lot data, waiting their wallet to sync, they not only hold Bitcoin etc.

Changing people view as become your own bank is really hard task because people still rely with centralization and only use Bitcoin due to making profit.
Are you running a Bitcoin node yourself? Can you drop a picture of your setup? I think it's easier to judge people on this forum without trying to understand some facts about running a Node.

The solution to those leaving their coins on centralized exchanges is not running a Node, it's keep their coins in a hardware wallet or Electrum wallet, if running a Node for them is impossible, it has nothing to do with how or where they keep their coins.

I believe it's not easy to run a full Bitcoin Node for some people, because of power epileptic in their country, them downloading the blockchain data and the power goes off will be frustrating, waiting for the wallet to get full sync is another problem without stable grid power.

1050  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the difference between banks and big whales in crypto? on: June 20, 2023, 06:29:57 AM
Banks are earning big profit from our deposits, they earn bigger than the interest that we get from our deposit because they put a bigger interest rate through thier borrower's or lenders, i think bank is not too far from big whales in crypto they buy or collect coins in dip and they sell in bull and they earn bigger from the holders that sell at loss  they are almost the same or what? What dou you think?
It could be happening already, who knows? But there is nothing to prove here that Banks are investing money in Crypto, I think they understand the risk between crypto investment and Stock investment and I am aware of their involvement in the Stock market, they do use deposits from customers' fixed accounts to invest into Stock market, Robert Kiyosaki revealed something like this in one of his videos too, the Banks outsmart the masses, that keeping money in the bank is the best practice for the people, they promised them some percentage per year but they already knew what they are going to do with the customers money.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 20, 2023, 05:28:53 AM
I’ve turned $1,000 into $100,000
I’ve turned $6,000 into $80,000
I’ve turned $11,000 into $550,000
and recently I’ve turned $4,000 into $90,000

With nothing to show for it…I’m a sharp sports bettor, but I always end up going all in. I can never be satisfied until it’s too late. I always need to go all in.

I’ve been reading comments from my last post (turning $4,000 into $90,000 and losing the entire $90,000), and I can’t help but feel like shit.

How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.
Not every $1,000,000 dream chasers will end up with such an amount and if you don't know when to stop things could go wrong for you, I've estimated all the money you have won in bets and that's close to 1million, I think you should stop risking this amount in gambling anymore.

If you can't stop, find someone you trust and give the money to them, you are simply becoming an addict already, make sure the money is far away from your reach, and only come back when you have beat the addiction of gambling.

What you already have is good enough to maintain a good life, I don't understand what else you want, millions of gamblers can't get this amount that you've won, assume yourself luck and leave gambling alone.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A no-Bitcoin friend turned a old Bitcoiner on: June 19, 2023, 08:52:32 AM
I would have said that you have a friend that's scared of the possible outcome in the future, he doesn't want to bring you along to see you hurt in the process, but that's not what I am seeing here.

I have read many replies on this thread and many are wrong or they are not completely focus on what OP wrote, if truly his friend is protecting himself why would he take his families along?

Don't tell me that you guys missed where OP said that his relative was how he knew that his friend was into Bitcoin all along and he pretended like he is not, the relative of OPs friend must be shocked if he finds out that there is no Bitcoin relations ongoing between OP and his friend.

This is a case of competition or envy, maybe OP had a good life earlier on and the friend was jealous and getting to know Bitcoin looks like a way to beat his friend's success, I might sound crazy but this always happens between two friends, both males and females around the world.

If all the friend wanted was privacy, his relative won't know about Bitcoin, sorry to say OP, your friend doesn't want to carry you along, maybe you are already in a better place than he is.

The truth about Bitcoin investment is, the richer you are the better, if you have enough money for investment you will enjoy Bitcoin investment.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 19, 2023, 07:48:59 AM
Many people find it difficult to accept who they are and the bad habits that they have, accepting a habit is the first step that will determine if any help offered to you will work. As a gambler, will you find it offensive if you are referred to as a gambling addict? will you easily accept it or try to give excuses like some other people do, saying that they are not addicted to gambling when the signs are clearly there. Do you think identifying as an addicted gambler will make people stereotype you. The answer is different for every gambler here.
We can gamble online today with the help of our smartphones and the internet, how the hell will people know that you are a gambling addict and they start calling you that? Well if that's the case then you must have done a lot of things wrong, like..

1. Borrowing money from people you are living with, either your neighbors or your families.

2. You must have found yourself in a very bad situation that caught the attention of your neighbors, e.g losing a lot of money that you aren't ready to lose and it hit you hard that you wear it on your face.

3. You resulted into a drinker after losing a lot of money and you start misbehaving, or even start revealing everything you did wrong through gambling.

Some people are already waiting for your shaming day so that they can use you to laugh, I don't encourage gambling in the open, and if you can gamble responsibly, no one will know that you lose or win some money, and never tell a soul that you are into gambling because if things aren't going right for you, your secret will be used against you.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 19, 2023, 06:55:59 AM
~snip~

From time to time I use VPN in casinos even if it is forbidden by TOS, because I don't keep money in casino accounts and I realize the risks of losing winnings because of it, so if possible I withdraw funds immediately if I win. To be honest I can't even explain why I do it when there is a huge number of casinos where you can play without using VPN. Maybe it is the additional risks that allow me to tickle my nerves, or maybe it is a desire to play where it is not allowed.
I don't understand why you can't use a VPN. Casinos should be commended that they can have the option for people to log into their site, so those things are what they should accept, a casino is interested in people and money, nothing else, play that they spend money, that people have fun. , whether they win or lose, that is why I often do not understand why some do not accept the use of VPN, those who do allow the use of VPN I congratulate them.

In online casinos that are Crypto in nature, they should not put these inconveniences, as I said before, they are interested in people entering to play games, and if they win, then they should be paid, not that they say: "as they entered with VPN they did not We will pay" I mean, for God's sake, this is shameless use, but if instead of winning the player loses and then complains, does the casino refund the money they lost? obviously not, then these things must be seen from every point of view to be fairer..

There shouldn't be anything g wrong with using a VPN like you said, but you can never know if any online casino will use that against you, your VPN might be the world best but make sure that your journey on any online casino starts with that VPN and the exact IP address, because they could wait patiently for the day when you made a lot of money through their platform and you try to withdraw your funds, that's where all the past allegations will come upon your head with full force, some online casinos keeps record of your activities, e.g the phone you use to log into your account every time, the IP locations and addresses etc.

I would just avoid all these honestly, because I have been messes up using a VPN before, but that's a very long time ago, they did everything that I wrote on here to me, but that's a finance platform, not an online casino, VPN and my money is something I don't want to try anymore.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Crypto coin Do You Gamble with the Most? on: June 19, 2023, 05:45:56 AM
After the drop in Ordinals hype, the Bitcoin transaction fee is now even cheaper than ever, I like using Tron and USDT but now, the Bitcoin transaction fee is cheaper, to send Bitcoin from my wallet to any online casino will now cost me 0.36$ to 0.46$ and sending USDT now cost roughly the same but if the USDT is coming from an exchange that's 1$ for withdrawal.

USDT is stable coin that's why it matches the role of Fiat for online gambling purpose and I still have hard times spending my Bitcoin for gambling when I should be holding and keeping for long time, now Tron and USDT feel better but the transaction fee isn't stopping Bitcoin anymore, for now at least.
1056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made a mistake shorting BTC at 17k on: June 18, 2023, 10:07:52 AM
The only problem any crypto investor can have with Bitcoin is trying to find the bottom, I can assure you that you will miss the bottom and you will have yourself to blame, there is no way anyone can know which or when Bitcoin will bottom and trust me, I hate trying to find the Bottom, even if it's not Bitcoin, you will end up deceiving yourself and you will look stupid.

Your post is from 2022 and I hope that you have already bought your Bitcoin, some idiots who believe that they are the smartest are waiting for 10k Bitcoin, some raised an alarm when the SEC sues on Binance and Coinbase came alive days ago that finally, Bitcoin is heading back to 10k, but instead Black Rock came along, and then SEC settles with Binance US...

See what I am trying to say? It's easier to miss the bottom in crypto.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interested in investing in Bitcoin my childhood friend after losing business on: June 18, 2023, 09:20:51 AM
The risk of investing in Bitcoin is where you should have started your Bitcoin initiation from.the beginning with your friends, you are making them feel like Bitcoin is totally risk free and they will get rich soon, sorry OP, you are not fit to introduce Bitcoin to people.

You simply gave them what they want to hear, the easiest way to make money without any worries or risks, this is wrong OP, some friends won't tell you a lot about the money they want to use for the investment until they invest and things are looking stagnant, that's when you will hear their cries.

Trust me, I have been there and I have learned my lesson, always tell them the scary side of investing in Bitcoin first and see how they will react, maybe they planned to invest 10000 and after hearing about the risk, they decide to limit the amount to 2,000$, it's still better this way.

1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Intriguing article: How to Perfect Your Gambling Strategy on: June 18, 2023, 06:47:45 AM
There is no way around putting limit to your losses than training yourself to know when to stop gambling, and that's why staying on your plan for the day or week is the best, if you plan to gamble with $5 per week then let it stay that way and never use more than $5, either when you win or it's losses for the week.

It's not like trading where you're able to set stop losses for your trades automatically so that it won't get totally wrecked. This is why gambling is more risky than trading, because with trading you can design your own strategy, thanks to the many tools available, and set stop losses to prevent you from going back to nothing.

I spent more time on trading than gambling, because trading is more skills oriented than gambling, which makes trading less risky.
1059  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: June 17, 2023, 09:20:09 AM
There shouldn't be panic while holding Bitcoin because it's Bitcoin, there is no greater risk to holding Bitcoin unless you lost your private key or you sell too early, my panic with crypto investment comes from altcoins only, and I really can't do without altcoins because they always bring me a better return of investment over Bitcoin. Only those that don't understand Bitcoin very well get panic while holding it, Bitcoin is well recognized and it's the market mover overall, if bigger companies are buying and holding Bitcoin everyone should be smart enough that it's just the beginning.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 17, 2023, 08:38:56 AM
This discussion is not that necessary because we all know that men are up in numbers when it comes to taking risk in a certain job or other, gambling is very risky and men are made to be tougher, when they lose they smile and move on, many women can't withstand what men are facing, not even for a day, they might end up in an Asylum or something.

Only smart women will understand that no matter the measurement strategy between men and women, the difference is night and day, the world became what it is today because of men, they did all the hardest work, oil fields, gold mines, train tracks, and many many more.

I have seen limited numbers of females gambling online, they hardly do, and once they lose they aren't coming back, the reason why some men are addicted to gambling is because of pressure in society, they don't want to be looked down on like worthless pieces of trash.
