1041  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Get a skill and make the best out of it. on: October 19, 2023, 09:53:25 PM
These days, the rate at which unemployment increases should be clear enough to send a signal to people, and the rate at which graduates are churned out of the university is enough to tell one to go get a skill. I stumbled upon a video in the past where a former president of the US was saying something related to this. If he, as president, could say such, then you should know that, in time, skilled people are going to take over the economy and workforce. That is why it is advised that one gets a skill—not just a skill but a skill—in line with the trend of development, which would be of good benefit and profit for them in the near future.

Currently, the economy of the nation does not warrant one to start looking for a job and staying idle. At least it would be nice and beneficial if you had a skill at hand to help you sustain yourself in the long run. So to remain relevant, it is nice to get engaged by learning a meaningful skill that you will not regret doing in the future.

Welcome mate. It is nice to seeing that solana chain is up. If I  may ask you OP what is the guarantee that solana chain is well secured enough to protect third parties such as decentralised casinos on their Chain as we all know how porous the chain is  and of lately have suffered series of hacks.

Lastly I would advise you move this thread to altcoin session as  it has nothing to do with bitcoin or you include Bitcoin as a means of payment otherwise moderators would help you do the needful.

This comment is absolute hideous, lookup facts before you spread missinformation, solana has been up quite a while.

Then you can prove me wrong if solana chain have not suffered hack since it's existence as a blockchain in the past.

She failed to do her own research before engaging and it costs her all her pi coin
If all she lost was pi coins then she really didn’t lose anything at all. AFAIK, majority of the Pi community mine Pi on mobile devices and so they do not actually purchase this coin. Pi is a shitcoin that has no value, the team keep making big promises to keep their community member hyped about the coin. It’s funny that scammers are trying to steal a scam coin.

I was expecting you to furnish us with some more information how to detect scams so as to know some new gimmicks used by scammers.
There isn’t much secret to avoiding scammers and their tricks. There is a popular saying if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t. If there is anything I have learnt from being a bitcointalk members, it is to be suspicious of everything that has to do with money. My first instinct is to believe that it is a scam, only research and due diligence on my part can prove otherwise.
Research and due diligence can prove otherwise. Sometimes people fail to do the needful when ever they receive links or someone talks to them about some new kind of stuffs. They are quick to believe and jump into it without conducting a research to know if what they have heard or been told is the right thing. Research alone could save them the stress and aftermath pressure as a result of the outcome of the scam they got themselves into.

Of a truth being a member of this platform taught me a lot of things I had  no knowledge and idea about. Onset from being here, I learnt alot about scams and how it comes. Although I have been a victim of it so I know how it feels so I had to equip myself with the necessary knowledge and information so as not to be taken unawares again and since then, I have never fall victim of such.
1044  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if the internet permanently shuts down on: October 19, 2023, 08:29:11 PM
To be honest, I never wanted something like this to happen, it would be the worst scenario that would happen if the internet went down permanently. All the convenience felt by humanity today cannot be separated from the role of the internet in their lives. The internet has now become a part of human life, all work carried out in various fields must be connected to the internet. Even though there is a possibility that this may happen at this time, the government will take various measures to keep the internet functioning, especially now that bureaucratic systems are starting to be adopted into digital systems.
Now it is the Digital Era and everything is sophisticated and can be done easily via digital using a great internet connection. Some wishful thinking about the death of the internet is just a fictional idea that will not happen. Governments around the world will not let the internet die, this is a technology that will live on. The internet has become a primary need that no one can refuse.

I think the government would never allow the internet to shot own not even in a minute would they allow it to go off. Internet is now part of the functional system of activities all round the world where by transmission does take place. The advanced or first world nation has gone far beyond what the human can comprehend in terms of using the internet for connectivity and other engagements. Therefore, it is near impossible to say that the internet would no longer function.

I can understand the fact that when it comes to war that there would be some interruption but not elimination. The internet would be there for connectivity in communication and also to transmit events. Let me just put this straight; The internet is the basis for which communication is  made possible.

OP you have done well by updating this platform with this keys facts. I remember there was a period when a friend sent me a chat crying that she lost all her. I had to ask her series of questions before I noticed it was the wrong site she entered in the name of making payment for an order via a fake website with pi affiliation. She lost everything she had to scammers. She failed to do her own research before engaging and it costs her all her pi coin

It is very wise that one does his or her  research to properly get updates or ask questions before engaging because doing that would save you of some unwanted stress and problems.

1047  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Suitable business ideas on: October 19, 2023, 01:23:15 PM
OP this initiative is a good one to attempt. While one is busy here with activities, one can have other side business going on to fetch them streams of income as you have said. Aside these businesses you have mentioned, there are other businesses one can venture into like the Agriculture sector such as poultry and fish farming is quite conducive. Although the both have a specific period which much task comes up but not as often and frequently. You can just open your mini farm with at least 1million or less to start with then as time goes on, what you have to do on daily basis is feed them and a little daily routine. You can have time to do your daily task here without much distraction. You can as well put up a calendar or a reminder to note your daily activities so as to accommodate but exercise.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 19, 2023, 12:57:16 PM
The first key to stay responsible in gambling is you must get a job first!

If you don't have a job to earn money, you will not have more money to gamble, the reason why people become an addict is they don't have a job. It's not a matter of big or small the salary is, even you earn $10,000, you can still able to become an addict.

The second one is making a budget for gambling, that's all.
From the little knowledge I have gained in the course of studying more about gambling I have come to realise that it does not necessarily means that one must be engaged in one activity or the other to be able not to be addicted to gambling. There are lots of rich people out  there who are addicted gamblers who have work doing and businesses which keeps them busy but still yet they gamble because they have the funds to serve them for any purpose.

As you have said budgeting is very vital and crucial as a responsible gambler, one must stay free of gambling addiction if one must see himself as a responsible gambler.

1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 19, 2023, 12:24:17 PM
As a gambler, one should be able to subdue greed. Only when one can do such them a gambler can say conveniently that they gamble responsibly. Doing away with greed requires a gambler to maintain their budget while gambling be it when they are winning or losing.

Irrespective of the fact that a gambler is winning, once a winning is recorded, it is imperative that the gambler stops and do away with greed because at that point in time, the urge to further continue playing will be there and hence would want to continue playing.

Also when a gambler records serial losses back to back, it is good the gambler takes a break and avoid gambling because at that moment the urge to chase loss would be there to recover and that is how gambling addiction begins but it would be nice exercising self restraint which calls for responsible gambling.

In all, doing away with greed is very important when it comes to responsible gambling.
1051  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: October 19, 2023, 10:21:38 AM
Casinos try to satisfy their clients but must follow the rules of the regulator, so the casinos change their rules. We must be aware of this, and if we want to avoid following the new rules of the casino, we can move to another more friendly casino. It is our choice to stay or look for another casino, and the casino will not force us to stay just because the casino wants to retain its customers.

Exactly, instead of complaining, why waste time on that? Just move on and look for other casinos. KYC is already implemented in most legitimate casinos, so we should always be aware of that. They might not require it at the beginning, but eventually, they'll ask for KYC information, and as usual, gamblers need to comply to continue enjoying gambling. With a huge number of online casinos, we do have plenty of options, but are they all reputable?

The risk of transferring between different casinos, some of which may not be so reputable, is that you might avoid KYC, but you'll likely face a higher risk of losing your money in the process. We need to be realistic about this matter, as regulators have already made their presence felt in the crypto gambling space.

The fact is that T&C may be just to difficult to understand, so even if they put a KYC first, then you still may be subject to some conditions for the withdrawal that you may not be be happy with. There best way is to check for reputation and go to sites that only use plain English or plain language in general Terms and Conditions. If you cannot understand something, do not sign to it.

A casino ToS is a normal and that is what every casino does to make sure there is orderliness and things are done properly and well cordinated so as to keep the casino growing. KYC is not a new thing anymore and as a matter of fact, casinos would definitely want all their members to do it because of the laws holding them on the licence they got. Although some for the fact that they want traffic, they do away with KYC at their earliest stage of launch because gamblers like no KYC casinos and would want to play there part to get the traffic and upon doing such those sets of no KYC gamblers troops there to register and deposit and upon doing such, they play win and attempt to withdraw them the casino tells them to undergo a KYC verification which before then, they must have updated their ToS without the knowledge of the gamblers. These are the things bothering casinos. They want you to register and deposit and then when you want to withdraw they start demanding this and that just to get at you leaving the money with the of you do not have your documents or you are from a restricted area.
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some gambling questions. on: October 19, 2023, 09:06:32 AM
Some gambling questions I want to ask please answer.

How many percent of signature earnings you gamble away?
My salaries 5%.

Do you prefer Fiat or crypto at a display currency?
I use fiat.

What is your favorite game you play all the time?
Mine Mines.

What is your favorite casino platform?
My BC game

Are you a responsible gambler?
yes.

OP, you can not just start asking such a sensitive question publicly to see gamblers response if truly you don't have something on your mind. These questions are a bit expository to ones privacy and as such should be treated with respect. Even if you get response here, some might not be as accurate as they do because the truth is that not everyone would give you the accurate answer here while some would respond here just to catch fun.  Let us be realistic because I doubt your post here as I think you too might not be giving is accurate figures to your own questions.

This looks confusing and contradicting. The Halloween has not reached but we are in the month. These are some of the slot Halloween casinos which one can have fun with. And also you can select some of the best Halloween casinos in 2023 here https://www.johnslots.com/en/slot-themes/halloween/. Different Halloween wagering games will be displayed on the 31 of October 2023.
The Halloween

Thanks for sharing this mate, I was also looking for some site that has offering good bonuses and event this festive , while I have already my favorite sites , but it is often that when season like this there are several if not many casino that gives better giveaway.
and also I am looking for Roulette bonus giving site , as Slot is very popular already for many occasion so for a change will try roulette this time.

This event would also aid more publicity for the casino because these periods of Halloween bonus people spend time online gambling for bonuses for the season while some make much efforts to gamble big coupled with the bonus they received to win big.
well as it is a holiday that we can spend more time playing so I guess it would be better to play somewhere that gives better return.
and the links I quoted above seems to be helpful.
Playing for a better return is always a priority as it is that the festive season is near, who knows if this bonus could be an open heaven for us to shine this period. I hope scam casino do not use this avenue to scam people of their hard earned resources all in the name of getting Halloween bonus because that is the trends now since it is the season, they would likely take advantage of it to ripp gamblers of their funds.

The link seems to be helpful and informative. I think it would be of good importance for gamblers who pick interest in the casino Halloween bonus and give away.
1055  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top Halloween Online Casino Bonus or Promo on: October 19, 2023, 07:41:04 AM
It's close to festive season and casinos are beginning to raise bonuses for their loyal clients so as to appreciate their consistency and loyalty all through the years with them. This is a good initiative but I hope it is not an avenue to trick gamblers to get registered and after which we start hearing complaints of casinos not releasing their bonus as promised and possibly gamblers funds being locked or account being suspended because these are the common complaints gamblers bring when ever such events are ongoing.

This event would also aid more publicity for the casino because these periods of Halloween bonus people spend time online gambling for bonuses for the season while some make much efforts to gamble big coupled with the bonus they received to win big.
1056  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Fall in Naira and crypto growth in Nigeria on: October 17, 2023, 10:11:45 PM
Of a truth the rise in cryptocurrency adoption is someworth associated with the fact that people are looking for other alternative means of survival. Bitcoin as seen as an investment could be taken as a such alternative means because one can trade on it on daily basis to generate  revenue or profit for themselves and in other words, they can buy and hold for a very long term so as to rake in profit when the price goes up as it meets their profit target.
In countries that have high employment rate, trading is common there as well.

In 2022, South Africa, Djibouti, West Bank and Gaza, Eswatini and Republic of Congo top the lists of countries with highest unemployment rate, non of the countries are found on this top lists of crypto adoption index of 2023.

Is umemployment the reason crypto is well adopted in United States, Vietnam, Ukraine and China?

The reasons I see more for the adoption are devaluation of naira and crypto means of investment. There are developed countries with high employment rate that well adopted cryptocurrencies.
Devaluation of Naira is a key major factor for the adoption of Bitcoin here in Nigeria except for the fact that Nigerians are that versatile and always want to be on the know of new innovative ideas to always be in the mainstream.

The developed countries with booming economic situation are far fetched from unemployment and are open to innovations hence their adoption of Bitcoin and alternative means of investment so they could get profit from their holdings. They otherwise see Bitcoin as a means of measurement and store of assets value.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: October 17, 2023, 09:15:23 PM
In my opinion, I think referral bonuses are typically waste of one's time because of its processes that seems so impossible to claim and recently I came across a thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5437603.0 seeking for Casinos with paid referral bonuses and I tool out time to read most of the responses there and they all seem impossible to claim referral bonuses.
I wish to know if anyone has successfully claimed referral bonuses and how easy was the process and what Casino did you claim those bonuses
Nevertheless, bonuses are some kind of promotional promo too which casinos do to get more traffic so in that case, they would be committing lots of funds for it and if you must access it, you must scale through the process of claiming the funds for which you have worked for. I really do not think it is a waste of time if one wants to claim referral bonus so far as you are up to the task. There is no point involving in what you know you can not be able to meet up with.
If someone has made the referrals as per the requirement and they can work according to the rules then they will definitely get their reward. All those who have legitimate projects never try to abuse any promotional purpose because they know that if the promotion is right then their project will develop and they can profit in turn. Every project tries to have a special budget for promotion. If one wants to earn money through referrals then it is not a waste of time because through this one also gets a chance to earn more. But yes it is nothing but a waste of time for those who ignore the rules.

Obeying rules makes it worth the time because after everything and you are having no blemish then you are rest assured of walking home with your bonus with no delay to releasing it to you but if you do not keep up to the rules and ignore most important aspect of the rules to securing the bonus, it just might come back hitting hard on you as I know casinos with genuine intentions would definitely Honour their words because they know the side effect of their actions if they do otherwise. So in that case, would want to be upright but with thorough and properly being strict with their bonus standard.
1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Warning] Don't share your casino account! on: October 17, 2023, 09:04:57 PM
You do well for bringing this to the forum to give awareness for everyone to see and be careful with their accounts. This thing you said is not only in gambling but also in trading platforms, I have seen this in trading platforms more than gambling side. I have received plenty message from telegram users to send them my account for them to trade on behalf of me then when they have made enough they would share it with me or I should registered in their platform and send them money for them to trade for me.

Mates, I refused to do that because I don't know who behind the scene to do me what is not good. Someone that has all the sense organs will not share his information to anyone to gamble because that is a personal security which the person must keep away from anyone. Ones again thank you for the information.

On a normal situation it is not a wise decision to sell an account not just an account but a verified account to someone you have no knowledge about just for the sake of getting peanut. Even to give someone to trade on your behalf is not advisable because you do not know the intentions of that person before bringing such proposals to you. No reasonable person would have such thought of giving out their account to person to trade for them.

I personally have had such proposals several times on telegram and whatsapp from contacts I do not  recognize. So of the contacts are international numbers I have no knowledge about so tell me how they got my contact is still a misery to me not to talk of having the audacity to make such proposals.  These days on e needs be careful how they engage in such conversations and deals so as not to get themselves into trouble.
Those offers are everywhere nowadays, and gamblers must be smart enough to recognize that whatever they are being offered for their verified accounts is not worth the trouble that is coming their way if they sell or lend their accounts.

However there are some gamblers that frustrated with the long term losses they are suffering at their favorite casino will consider any offer as long as it can make them money, a big mistake but we cannot prevent those people from making it.
Gamblers to can be frustrated to that extent of selling or leasing their accounts to people they have no knowledge about just to get some peanut as a result of their losses without thinking of the out come of what they have done. I believe sometimes these things are coordinated by the casinos to buy an account in the sense that they give a buyer the details of such gambler for them to approach so they could do their bidding and if I may be ask, how do they know account holders with the casinos they make proposals to buying their accounts. You see why sometimes I wonder and not bother because most casinos can be this funny to this extent.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: October 17, 2023, 08:51:25 PM
I have seen lots of casinos terms and conditions here and in most cases those that claims not to do KYC would still state in that terms and conditions that they have the right to change policies at anytime without the interference of gamblers and also they have every right to demand for details as the case may be if the needs arise from third parties such as government. So you see that casinos can not be trusted when it comes to KYC. Some of the casinos just put the no KYC option because they know gamblers like that aspect of casino and would troop to that casino to register and start making deposit and upon withdrawal that is when you will start hearing stories from the casino. Some casinos even go as far as secretly changing the terms and conditions without informing gamblers to give them option or call their attention. Barry deceitful of them. That is a very bad move and it is not good to do such bit however, one needs to be careful and cautious how the engage with most of these unknown casino out there to avoid been a victim of scammers.

The truth is I'm not sure about these things, for me it is not well seen that casinos change the terms and conditions just like that, without prior notice, because KYC is a main problem where everyone in the forum has echoed and done so. a lot of noise , because it is obvious that no one wants to comply with that KYC, so when it is said that the Tos are accepted and then they change it, at least it seems to me, because then what sense does it make that they make you accept a series of conditions If you are not going to comply with them, because just as they change it in the casino, one as a player then has the right to change the Rules , and then if so the casinos must Accept , because for that then they do not say go ahead and leave everything free, because this way they avoid having problems based on misunderstandings, I am someone who likes things to be very clear, there is no other Way , because Otherwise I am going to feel very Deceived, and that is not a good Thing.

When we comply with the Tos Demands , and then we know that they don't say anything about the KYC and we have to accept it because there is no other Choice , but if the casino feels like it, not to continue with it, but they change it politics because they like it, is not right, and the casino that does it is not Completely honest for me, a casino can change the Tos , but when a player does something that is not in the Tos then he is considered as a lack and abuse of the system, or indiscriminate abuse of the system or however the casino can decipher it or Consider its, then that doesn't seem fair to me, and the worst thing is that there are some players who say yes, they agree that the casinos if they change the Tos to their onveninetcia, and that's when I say to myself: "Which side do you play for?" If at any time the injured party could be that same person who supports them, and then when we see it is a thread in Reputation and in Accusation of Scams , complaining , then for me things Should be clear.

One of the major problems between gamblers and casinos lies their terms of service. Most casinos do not regard their gamblers that they go ahead to do whatever they feel like doing at the detriment of the gamblers risking their reputation just to make sure they frustrate gamblers to get at their funds under their watch. Some casinos goes as far as banning gamblers preventing them from withdrawal just for ToS they secretly changed without their knowledge and still pointing towards that same ToS for them to go by. It is not fair after such experience, would you be comfortable going to still play with that casino?

I believe sometimes if only gamblers can take actions in a boycott in uniformity then casinos would know that it is not business as usual but I don't think that would be possible because every man is a nation on his own.
1060  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Fall in Naira and crypto growth in Nigeria on: October 17, 2023, 04:40:42 PM
Cryptocurrency adoption in our country has been increasing over the years due to our unemployment rate and inflation rate. I believe currently holders of coins before Tinubu's rule has experienced a great deal of profit with Naira falling in relation to Dollar.
I know that one's opportunity can be another's threat. Is the continuous fall beneficial to crypto traders or its just a trap?
Personally what are your thoughts on this?
Does the benefit from the market compensate for the cost of living?

Of a truth the rise in cryptocurrency adoption is someworth associated with the fact that people are looking for other alternative means of survival. Bitcoin as seen as an investment could be taken as a such alternative means because one can trade on it on daily basis to generate  revenue or profit for themselves and in other words, they can buy and hold for a very long term so as to rake in profit when the price goes up as it meets their profit target.

I do not think the continuous fall in naira can be or stand to be a trap to crypto traders. Naira fall has nothing to do with crypto trading but rather the policies enacted by the government to strengthen the economy of the nation to help give  strong base for the naira to regain its value. Just as  CryptopreneurBrainboss has opined, it can only be a trap when one decides to trade crypto directly with the naira against the CBN policies but as a sharp trader you are, you need not worry as it is in your own advantage because you trade in bitcoin not nair and convert to usdt for those who cares and off to the p2p market you go to finalize your sales.
