So what happened to the buy wall? Was it pulled or eaten?

The guy was impattience, bought it straight out 20K dark.

Holy shit!  20k...man that's a baller.  I've been buying in 400 to 500drk in small chunk orders... And I thought that was something special.   Nice... Damn it though.  I'm hoping I can get some more at 59...agghh.  Not likely.  On that note what's the fast exchange to accept dollars to trade with?  That's what's killing me right now.  Evertime I send money to my exchange it takes up to 7 days to clear... Not acceptable.  Any thoughts?

You can buy from CEX.io with a bank transfer or a credit card payment. I don't know much about the bank transfer, but with a credit card your money will arrive in your account in 1-2 hours.

The only disadvantages are:

You are paying a $11.5/$22 fee for $250/$500 and so on. (the fee is calculated like this 0.25 + 4.5 %).
Bitcoin is usually available for purchase at a price of $10-$15 above the marketplace. It's not like localbitcoins is any cheaper. In fact, on the contrary.
 Maybe not enough liquidity ?

You can also buy DRK from there, but again, the liquidity problem. Just try it, though. It's pretty good for $250/$500 transactions.

The main reason i use it is because my national exchange "btcxchange.ro" went down after some problems with the CEO and the main developer (profitability issues). My bank transfers ($3 dollar commission) were available in my account in 6 hours and i was purchasing BTC at a price similar to that of BTC-e. (0% fee per transactions too). It was awesome while it lasted. I hope they will solve their problems and get back to offering a great service.

I really don't understand why he flushed bitcoins down the toilet like that. Everything was going according to plan at 590k as people were already dumping constantly. It's not like DRK is going mainstream tomorrow lol

maybe he is in a hurry to setup some MN's .. with the 35% MN payout and all.

The market already dumped 40-50btc's into that wall in just a few hours and it's not like he was setting up a masternode per minute Smiley

LMFAO at that DUMP!

Made 110 darkcoins (profit) in a second. Too bad i didn't set my buy order lower than 540k. I was expecting it, considering the latest movements on the market.

Is Evan Duffield dumping ?  Tongue

I rised .25 btc to 25 btc. But I bet. WHAT YOU DID was a gamble. All I did was 3 weeks, i just checked all basketball, football and soccer games. Did extensive research for injured players, suspended etc... I only bet on gamea that I was 100% confident. There were a few matches I removed, because I was 95% sure they should win. And they won, but still I did not include them in my parlays. If I did I could have walked out with 50btc. But the risk was about 4-5%. All i did was add couple of low odds games to parlay and keep doubling. Started with .25 then .5 then 1,2,4,8,16. When I had the 16, i put 4 games and all won. Got 30btc. Withdraw 27 and still rolling with 3btc. But if you go to dice, slots, blackjack, you odds of winning is 2-3%. With the smart bet, research and common sense, you can bring that chance to80-90% in sports betting.

Just golden rules

1- do not bet more than you can afford to lose
2- do your own research for game stats, injury suspension etc..
3. Back out, if you are not sure 100%. If you even sure 99%, backout.
4- you dont need to bet on every game, every day, very frequent. Start with low amount and place safe bet. If you can follow this, you can make .2 btc to 50 btc. I had a friend who started with 5euro and walked away with 10-20K several times. All you need is pattience
5- do not add more than 3-5 games within 3-4 days period. I would say top 7 games in 7 days. You can find 5 games between soccer, basketball, football games in a week if you search all europian competience.
6- stay away from small teams, try to bet on t established big names like manu, chealse, m city in england, ajax, psv in netherland, juve, napoli, rome in itally, B. Munih in germany, lyon, marsille, PSG in france, porto , benfica in porto, Galatasaya, Fenerbahce, Besiktas in Turkey, R.Madrid, Barcelona, A. Madrid Valencia in spain.
7- Try to pick mostly home games. In soccer, away teams mostly haveslim chance unless opponent is terrible.
8- take your time and dont rush.

If you follow these steps, you will win.

Looks like someone is trying to exit since 19 Dec. Approx 40k darkcoins in those 4 dumps.

Is there a guide somewhere that explains what "dumpprivkey" actually does? It's mentioned here in this thread again and again but I've never seen any real explanation of what this achieves, why it's important and how it helps protect you. I'd really like to see more plain-English explanations of these various functions and how to maintain best practise with wallets re hot and cold storage, paper, etc.

Help > Debug window > console:
'walletpassphrase <passphrase> 30'
'dumpprivkey <address>'  *note, you may have more than one address in your wallet that has coins in it, dumpprivkey for each address or move all coins into one address first*

 - copy/print/keep safe the privkey, then, when disaster strikes:

Help > Debug window > console:
'importprivkey <privkey>'

Simple. Smiley

It's actually too simple Smiley

I will forward your message to my grandma because she's excited on using cryptocurrencies for her online shopping. "Grandma, use DUMPPRIVKEY before sending the funds" "Also, make sure that your Antivirus will not sandbox shit randomly."

"'Shared Space' is a dedicated area on your local drive that sandboxed applications are permitted to write to and which can also be accessed by non-sandboxed applications (hence the term 'Shared Space'). For example, any files or programs you download via a sandboxed browser that you wish to be able to access from your real system should be downloaded to the shared space. This folder is also used by the Virtual Kiosk and is located by default at 'C:/Program Data/Shared Space'.

You can access the shared space folder in the following ways:
Clicking the 'Shared Space' shortcut on your computer desktop
Clicking 'Shared Space' button on the CIS interface
Opening 'Sandbox Tasks' from the Tasks interface then clicking 'Open Shared Space'

By default, sandboxed applications can access folders and files on your 'real' system but cannot save any changes to them. However, you can define exceptions to this rule by using the 'Do not virtualize access to...' links."

_________

Now, if the files were indeed saved to that "shared space" folder, then you should start a file recovery application yesterday. The more you wait, the more files are being written randomly on your C partition, thus diminishing your chances of recovery greatly.

If you are using a TRIM-enabled SSD, then i'm truly sorry. Your data is unrecoverable.

Thank you but I am afraid it won't help cause darkcoin-qt.exe's not quarantined item nor sandboxed cause at comodo's alert popup I clicked on "do not sandbox again".
It has been like comodo erased the whole blockchain and wallet.dat as well at the first closening.

If this is indeed what caused your loss, then WOW! I'm using a similar setup as yours, although for computer B (the masternode hosting one) i was not sure on whether to install Windows 10 Technical Preview + Comodo or Ubuntu. I was actually planning on doing it tomorrow or the day after, so if it wasn't for you, i would've made the exact same mistakes.

Just WOW!

It's pretty sad that people are mentioning that piece of garbage coinssource website in this thread. The same type of proof of dev that CryptoAsian (another shit service) used in order to pump and dump coins created by the copy-pasta scamming pigs.

I'm glad that i saved this in my "OneNote" crypto folder a month ago: (the title would be "There is a Pattern to follow every time one market gets dumped or pumped" )
_____________________

"It works like this:

BobSurPlus already owns a group of pump and dump where the requirements are BTC (as you could imagine) and New bitcointalk accounts, so they could work as a team under a schedule, this one could work for 2 stages.

stage 1 :  Target asset (example: Stealthcoin)  they together start hyping and promoting to make it look as if the asset were building a "community" (one can really see a community of 30 people on their IRC and they are only fighting each other, the dev does not care and never visits or interact with their IRC community at all) but it creates the "false impression" of having a community to attract investors.

stage 2:  Troll teams: This ones cover mainly 2 great functions in the team:

a) They send their troll teams to fud and create chaos on other coins that they feel threathened with, and they add on their coin tags at twitter when promoting their new asset to hang on the competitors coin pr. The Troll team then attacks the rival coin by all means, either on irc channels, on their threads or creating fake "Xcoin is a scam dont buy" followed by a lot of pics made by this trolls teams who work for the sole purpose of achieving their goals, which are to take your btc. They do this to continue the plan where the market starts to buy their Asset, based only on market perception manipulation, dont even try to ask this teams for white papers or intelectual thinking. (which is a way to recognize their team)

b) When they are working on an asset, and they are starting to get found and losing mommentum, thats when the second goal of the troll team begins, and thats when the 3rd party involved in Scam group starts to work (Coinssource: Biased media reporter with lot of complains of ethics and news manipulation over the bitcoins forums, they charge different non reported prices, so instead of trust if you pay more your coin gets more stars)

And it works this way:

When the Pump and Dump group finds itself losing momentum in their asset, thats when the whole group starts to dump on each others, making a lot of profits in the way, as they were early investors or joined the coin investing by sending their troll groups to lower the asset price.

That's when they send their troll groups to blame the rival coins and it gets supported and released as news in the coinssource site,
that way they try to go out "clean" and always finish saying phrases like "ohh yeah it will be back, i still have a ton of coins".

When the truth is they have already moved on and are working in trolling or entering their next targets.

one can see the work theyve made on some coins already, creating chaos on the communities left behind (the whole purpose of the troll teams, as then they can rebuy lower and just keep repeating the process where investors are not smart enough to realize it)

Last Biased coinssource article, was just a payed (between dump group and them) article excusing the poor technology behind their last pump and dump scheme ( Stealthcoin, which after a bitcoin core dev giving its opinion on the xst whitepaper it dumped like A lot ) and the pseudo news site reported it was only based on fud.   pretty smart, but only to keep stealing bitcoin from working communities where work means innovation, not like this coinssource + bobsurplus charade.

Pretty smart, as now he has its troll team fighting with another coin, one can just go read the last coinssource articles to know how this scam is perfectly cordinated and worked on.

One can visit their IRC channels and see the real communities behind some coins (groups of 30 ppl where most are clone bots of each other and the topics of talk are only "We will go to the moon soon" "nah you are just attacking the coin" bipolar personalities.) or visit the coins github to really know if a coin is innovating in tech or just copy cloning, and even making questions about whitepapers and latest media about your coin of interest.

Investors, just be careful of where you invest, remember to invest in developers and innovation and you will be safe of this kind of groups."

It's not like the name should be changed in a hurry and also a rebranding could easily be taken into consideration at the final release of InstantX. You weigh in which of these technologies would be more attractive to the general public (anonymity and speed or both) and change the variables (name + marketing) accordingly. You could also do a "name changing" contest, polls and everything. I'm pretty sure that even Evan had this type of conversation with himself, maybe long before we even thought about writing on the subject.

You can also keep Darkcoin and you will see that the need of a 'name change' will come naturally as all of these new technologies like InstantX, Masternode applications/services and others will be implemented, and then you would want them to be shown off by a more representative name.

My previous opinion was expressed as a result of what Darkcoin did for me on our first encounter. Unfortunately, It inspired fraud and uncertainty and it's almost comical, because you can do almost the same type of things with fiat, bitcoin, dogecoin and others. It's just that this name is scary and it creates this strong perception. Heh, i hope i don't sound ridiculous. It's just an opinion. I could be just an isolated case.

Wtf is wrong with Bitfinex ? I've deposited an X amount of BTC's in the trading account and i cannot purchase DRK at all. It tells me not enough balance on every order. Why do i have to read another book on how to use a dumb fucking exchange that already archived my life?

Make sure the BTC is in your "exchange" wallet, not the "trading" or "deposit" wallets. Click the "Manage Wallets" button on the right side and you can transfer between wallets if necessary.

Thanks! Solved the issue. I thought that i had to wait for another round of grandpa BTC confirmations. Everything was processed instantly.

Strange how i worked like a slave in order to get my first masternode ( living in a shitty European country is no fun ) and after i got all my bitcoins, now i'm not that sure anymore. I love everything about DRK except the way it's being branded. Would love to see the coin stripped off its Dark title and be more centered around InstantX.

"Insert title" that performs super fast transactions and that can provide anonymity if necessary. - would sound so much better in my opinion. 1 Billion users on facebook already show you that they don't give a flying F about privacy. Most of the people that i've talked to, they are pretty skeptical when they hear about Bitcoin. I don't even have the courage to mention them about Darkcoin. You might as well call it "Illegal Coin", "BuyDrugsCoin" and many more. If there's anything that will stop this coin from reaching a large scale adoption, it would be the name and its already established negative meaning. It would also place InstantX into the shadow.

This is starting to resemble some of the shitcoin threads that i've been visiting for the past months.

Drk consolidation!
Wow, the masternodes number increased. ( like all the new masternodes were created with the newly purchased coins )
Silence before the storm.
There will be a pump.

No shit! The price has been like this since the start of October if you rule out that mini-pump to 800k that happened because of the RollingStone twitter hype and Bloomberg.

Also, i agree with thelonecrouton's arguments one hundred percent. That situation where Ghash had almost 51% of the hashrate, and being inches away from putting Bitcoin at a 1 dollar valuation again, is what made me pretty doubtful about this technology.

If you think that you can use this type of counter argument:
__________
"51% is not the end of the world as long as the pool is not hell bent on destroying the network's security. Pools have in the past held >50% or close to it but they've all made assurances they are acting in Bitcoin's best interests, like BTCGuild that got close to 50% and took measures to limit new hashpower being added." (quote from reddit)
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾
in this discussion, well then you are simply GOOFY.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: November 21, 2014, 05:58:35 AM
weekend and next week will be interesting for btc. i predict another upswing Smiley

I'm not that convinced. Don't forget that the sudden growth that happened last year was totally unpredictable. Now BTC has 2 roadblocks in its way. 1 - Too many people are waiting for the pump to happen. 2 - You have too many bagholders that bought at $800-$1100 and they can't wait to dump on your head and exit the scene at reasonable prices.

Also, i'm actually predicting even a bigger decline in the crypto world for 2015. Momentum plays a big part.
