1044  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KYC matter? on: September 22, 2023, 05:32:45 AM

I don't know why many people frown at KYC verification but I think sometimes, it may be as a result of previous experience that is making people to be more conscious about dropping there data on exchange except the exchange has user data protection which will enable individual data to be well kept in a portfolio where no one has access to it even though the exchange get hacked.
That's because kyc encourages identity theft in many ways.

You're exposed to a third-party attack should such an exchange or company get hacked as your data/details can be stolen in that event and be used for impersonation and other criminal activities to your person. Etc.

You'll need to go through this thread to get the whole idea of why many people frown at KYC. Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless

1045  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investing with Bitcoin will be the most profitable project of life. on: September 22, 2023, 04:46:55 AM
I do not think that BTC price will go up. So investing in BTC, can be popular, but not profitable project.
Look here https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/121815/bitcoins-price-history.asp. Bitcoin price is stable now.

You never can tell about the price of Bitcoin not to go up anymore, because though Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency with high volatility as compared to altcoins, it still has a high tendency to skyrocket higher in a long run, because  that's exactly what people said when the price of Bitcoin was $1000 that it will not go further again, but yet it rose to $10,000, and likewise what people said too until it rose to is current price today at $27,000.
So on that note, if you are looking for a sure asset to invest in for a long term, Bitcoin is the answer for you.
Taking a study of the chronology of the price of bitcoin alone right from 2009 common sense will whisper to you that this is truly an asset to invest for a longer term investment.  In my opinion, on account of you not being a trader trading in bitcoin you can't be profitable in a short while holdin investment and it is those people that ain't patient to hodl their portfolio for the long-run that end up making up the idea the bitcoin isn't a profitable project because they came in with the mentality of a get rich quick project.
1046  Economy / Economics / Re: Our future with renewable energy. on: September 22, 2023, 04:16:11 AM
Renewable energy development is capital intensive and demands groundbreaking effort to actualize it' and only well advanced nations are capable of achieving the feat and sustaining it . If we're looking at hydropower and geothermal energy only a very few countries can afford it's development.
In reality, this is still the case because of the many countries in the world, only a few countries are able to develop renewable energy, which is the newest model that has never been used by many less developed countries. However, as long as renewable energy can provide more positive things for the environment and the country, I think several countries that are not yet developed and are making themselves more developed should also study this so that in the future they can also use renewable energy for themselves.

Quote
Even as that those other sources of renewable energy preferably wind, solar that are regarded as the most cost-effective energy yet there are some countries that can't afford developing it, particularly those countries of the south pole that are battling to maintain non-renewable energy
Each country's ability to develop something like renewable energy is different because it not only concerns natural resources, but also involves human resources and certain tools needed. So when renewable energy already exists in several developed countries now, other countries also need to see it as a very important thing so that in the future they can also use it as used by these developed countries. Because developments in good things need to be considered so that countries that are not yet developed are not always left behind in terms of renewable energy.
Just as you've clearly said it is a new model, a model that even some of the advance countries have not been able to accomplish while some are in the process. And as for the government's developing countries AFAIK it's a matter of priority if this is something they give priority in their scale of preference that's when a study can be taken into action towards the future. Because there are other developmental needs of the people and the little available resources can only be directly to those that their priority lies on given their best ability based on what they can offer as developing nations.

Op next time try  dey paragraph your work so dat e go sweet for eyes. I no go lie  this your topic goes well as nah the situation wey every Nigerian dey currently face. Person go receive salary for month end the money no get value with only one bag of rice salary don finish, nothing now for market wey never add price 5x higher.

The worst part of this hardship be say the government no even get blue print wey dem de use wey we fit ook at and say ok with time tins go better. Asin no hope at all. There's no sector of the county wey person go fit just look and get hope. Insecurity, employment, empowerment, prices of foodstuffs, electricity, healthcare etc etc, no area you go look and get joy say genuinely it's getting better.  I just feel say dis Naija don supposed reach wen military go just take over small make tins stabilize then we move back again to civilian rule.

1049  Economy / Economics / Re: If They Can Pay off their Debts, Why Don't They? on: September 21, 2023, 03:23:14 AM

I am not an economist so my question would be directed to those who understand economics and government administration. If a country is capable of paying off her debts, why don't they? Obviously , these developed countries I believe are capable of offsetting their debts because they even render aids to other developing nations.
Secondly, are there any benefits, economic or otherwise of a country being in debt?
Wow so let put it this way. It is never in the best interest of a country to completely pay off their debt and that's because they have other duties and needs in the country to attend to with money. So they can service an entire debt at ones while the nation be in penury.

It's like with an individual for example, having $1k as the only money in his name while owing a friend a debt of $800, in economics you're not supposed to pay the $800 debt at one payment just because you have $1k with you.

For the fact that you have other responsibilities and demands to meet you need to pay in instalments so you don't put yourself at a disadvantage to running into a new debt immediately, it makes no sense at all. So for the avoidance of such you need to consider the impact economically in paying your debt of $800 at ones with only $1k in your purse.
1050  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Challenges that can deprive/ delay one from hodli for long. on: September 21, 2023, 02:56:10 AM
Some of these aren't challenges like trading, you can still be a trader and still also be a long term Bitcoin holders, I don't think hodling mean you should give up your interests in trading.
Obviously, some of these reasons you’ve given do apply but, most of what I would like to say is that, the needs of a person when you don’t have an alternative source of income or satisfying your human wants makes selling your bitcoin to fill in for that want more easy. Yo be able to hodl, you need another source of income to fill in your needs and wants.

Hodling isn’t a most but, could be a necessity when you seek to get some profit through time without actively taking risk by trading.
The whole idea of hodling is to avoid the risk and the technicalities associated with trading and hodling becomes easy to achieve when there's a satisfying alternative source's of income and you project one of those income source for your hodling while the other income sources fill in for your daily needs and any emergency that may erupt.

It is true that hodling isn't a must but it's actually a necessity for those that can't trade but needs to make profit with bitcoin all they could do is to ju hodl and patiently wait for the right time in a bull market or the halving, stead of having to forcefully trade and then losing your money.

With just the sight of an elaborated thread the reader losses the enthusiasm to uncover the message of the thread on the grounds that it's a work load to have to read such a lengthy thread that could have been summarizes in a concise and precise format. And for any lengthy thread to attract an interest in a reader apart from how vital the message of the thread is, the formatting, the writing style plays a big role in the captivation of the reader to reading to the end of the thread. Otherwise most readers will just skim or scan most elaborated thread if they appear keen to get to the bottom of the message.
1052  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Whenn last did you visit the bank? on: September 20, 2023, 10:31:49 PM

The queue at the ATM stand is gradually reducing because, when you consider the time and stress people go through on the queue and you know that the pos guy will only charge you 100box to get 5k, you go just jejely waka go POS point, withdraw your money and getat to your house.
Thats true op. And the most discouraging part about not seeing any need to stand in queue at the ATM point to make withdrawal is how money finishes in the machine when it's close to your turn, like one or two persons to your turn after you have stood in line waiting.

Those recurrent cases was part of what discouraged me from having the liver to stand at ATM point for withdrawal when I can just perform same using a POS point with just #100 charge, saving my time from been wasted.

Microfinance banks like pay, palmpay, and Monie Point have even proven very reliable and customers have gradually shifted their attention and funds to them.
Microfinance banks has been a life saver during and after those times of scarcity of the Naira with their fast payment system hardly getting hanging transfers. But even as that I wouldn't encourage anyone to leave huge sum of cash in those microfinance banks like palmpay, Opay and Kuda etc. If you want to keep a huge amount in your bank account do that with those banks with physical offices saturated all over the States and country it's much saver as you have where to walk in ask easily lay a complaint.

You can leave a little amount in this microfinance banks for daily quick transactions and expenses buy never as a means of storage . E get why!

Ever since I joined the forum community I have wasted no time learning about Bitcoin. I'm trying my best to learn something from every post and I've gained a bit more knowledge about Bitcoin than before.
Although Bitcoin is a vast area that is not easy to learn about, the more we learn, the more knowledge we gain.
The most surprising thing I learned was that I was both really surprised and happy to know the past, present and future market value of Bitcoin.
I checked your registered date you're just about 4 days in the forum and I think you shouldn't be too excited about the little you have uncovered there's still much grounds for you to covered although it s all in a gradual process and if your main purpose to the forum was to learn then your knowledge about bitcoin will definitely expend as you voyage through the informative contents in all boards concerning bitcoin.

Mail + airdrop + wallet details= scam

Most of these airdrops are scams so newbies should avoid these airdrops. Scammers especially promote fake airdrops on social media. Gmail is a street where a lot of fake scam airdrop mail can be found.
Gone are the days when airdrop projects were something with a good experience, right now scammers has hijacked the means away that we can't differentiate from the genuine airdrop providers and scammers  scamming people of their funds in their wallets. That's why anyone chasing airdrops still shouldn't I repeat shouldn't connect his personal wallet to any airdrops requesting for such linking as condition to benefit from it. If you must chase airdrops create a completely different empty wallet's for it and also  a new email not connected to your  accounts in that way you're safe if you kind of fall to an airdrop scam. Don't joke with this tips.

Bayern 2 - 0 Man United (Half-time)
Man United's chances of winning the match are looking quite slim. Bayern appears incredibly solid in the first-half contest. There haven't been many scoring opportunities as we saw in the Real Madrid match. Perhaps this is still a period of adjustment for Man United's squad as they strive to discover their optimal team composition.

I have my doubts whether Man United can score 2 goals . It sounds like a formidable task for the current match.

Man Utd had couple of good chances on 0-0 and could have taken this match in another direction but now it looks just an easy win for Bayern Munich. I think Man Utd needs to sack Ten Hag as fast as possible because they only have bad results with him and they need something fresh.
The way goals are coming into the Manchester united net is so embarrassing that every shot's on target has a 95% chances of pass through Onana into the net. De gea wasn't this bad conceding in bug matches as this. Ten hag need to do more this season as his defensive style is very poor, the midfield  and as such can't withstand a team like Bayern Munich with a striker like Harry Kane in front. If Manchester united continue this way ten hag won't see November as a United manager.

1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: September 20, 2023, 12:44:10 PM
So why this belief or do you think it could be true? Or is it one of those superstitious belief among gamblers?
Do you feel cool sharing your predictions with other people and how has the outcome been looking at all the times you have shared your predictions with others?

Gamblers have all sorts of superstitions. And worse they refuse to agree that it is a superstition when it is pointed out to them or even change it. They are the incorrigible sets of persons on the planet. Show them a glaring evidence or try to persuade them to change their view point and they'll immediately pick an offense.
Gamblers like that that doesn't take the admonition not even from those fellow gamblers close to them as friends they're usually a hard nut to crack, and if they eventually falling into addiction it's very hard for them to accept and retrace their steps even when they are heavily bearing the cost of their addictive attitude. I can't deal with such people so I learn to stay away from them that I don't get use to being offensive all of the time we meet.

Quote

Telling someone what you staked and them making the same bet isn't going to change the outcome. It is just like me betting that we'd there is going to be a storm and someone else placed the same bet as I did on the weather. This isn't going to change the outcome of what the weather would be...that it why it is a prediction.
Except for ignorance I don't think a gambler would be scared or refusing to share his predictions with another gambler. If we win we win together likewise if we lose we lose together it has nothing to do with a twist of fate affecting the outcome of predictions. So it's just a behavior  fed by ignorance.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are no KYC casinos taking risks? on: September 20, 2023, 10:51:33 AM
Fraud cases are becoming a real problem for gambling industry, from schemes like bonus hunting, account farming, account hijacks and illicit chargebacks on the rise I believe that many new casinos aren't prepared for the menace ahead.

Some casinos still believe that not asking for KYC is cool, but it's actually not, I see casinos with no kyc as a red flag because you can't run your business this way without getting into trouble with regulators.

Casinos neglect identity check but little did they know that they can be fined for it, if fraud cases arise from your casino and it's been investigated, your business is going away soon or you pay up for fine. One, for failing to screen customers using the KYC process, two, for possible running of unregistered casino.
Yet with those casinos that are demanding for casinos still get cracked down by the authorities in the case of a fraudulent allegations arising from or through their casino or company.  No demanding for identity check by no KYC casinos doesn't mean they don't have security measures to ensure that customers don't flaunt the system.

Even with kyc some dubious customers still manipulate the identity check process by rendering fake identity. Now how's that usually possible if the KYC casinos are said to be the best in your opinion?

Fraudulent cases are peculiar to both kyc and non-kyc casinos and businesses, it's left for users to also take responsibility of their security too in the best way they can while the company does theirs.

Quote
The requirements says it's all, so is it possible that those casinos doing their no KYC stuffs are not even registered?
Same with those asking for kyc not all are registered that's why we all advise to make use of reputable casinos that have gained reputation over the years. You can't tell me that all no kyc casinos are not registered cause that's not correct.

1058  Bitcoin / Mining / Whats your thoughts: Next-Gen Bitcoin Mining Machine With 1X Efficiency Rating. on: September 19, 2023, 11:17:53 PM
First of all let me make it clear am not a miner and have a little or no clue about mining as am not a tech savvy. All we do on the other side is to trade and hold in addition to having some security knowledge. Now let me stop here on that note. Lol.

So guys I stumbled on this article while doing my normal reading routine and I decided to bring it here to know how miners in the forum will react about this development by freely expressing their take about  it by way of a discussion.

1059  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: September 19, 2023, 10:20:40 PM
Under population is not very good and that is what will make a country open their borders for foreigners out of need for labour force. I think there is a solution to this through government policy by giving rewards to couples who increase the numbers of children they give birth to depending on the number stipulated by government. Another point is to discourage abortion because people do that as final resort when they have no other option.
Of course, under population is a problem. A country can face some problems in the future if they have under population. It happens in Japan, they are facing a problem of under population. The number of foreigners is increasing constantly to deal with the situation. If too many foreigners, I think it won't be good for Japan in the future.

Well, this problem is probably caused by the lifestyle, the economic situation, or lack of confidence from mature people to raise children. The government should make a special program to all people that they must be confident to grow children. The government must support with assistance programs, so there are no mature people who doubt to have children. Also, the idea to give rewards for the couples that have children seem good to apply as well.

I don't think it's a bad idea to employ the skills and services of foreigners by countries that those manpower skills and services are lacking due to underpopulation, if a country fears for it's future by opening her boarder to foreigner with the needed skills to troop then the government of such country's would be doing a disservice to her people as they would have to work constant overtime and that can lead to a more breakdown in human capital.

Why can salvage the situation is just as you both agreed on the government to create a programme that will encourage couples and single matured people to increase their number of childbirth, cause where the necessary
social  amenities and welfare service are working fine people won't think twice before giving birth knowing fully it won't turn out to be a burden alas.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 19, 2023, 08:11:55 PM
M.City will have the easiest win tonight.
Of course Manchester City will get an easy win tonight against a team from the Serbian Super League, FK Crvena Zvezda who I have never watched how they play. Manchester City must not underestimate their opponent if they do not want to experience undesirable results.

The most enjoyable game could be PSG-Dortmund. I will watch this game and Milan-Newcastle tonight.
This is a tight match. Many people are pessimistic about Newcastle's success in the UCL, including me. Newcastle will show their supporters that they should not be considered easy to beat among the other teams in this group.
Maybe with many people thinking that Newcastle will not be able to get through this extra tight group, this will be an encouragement for them to do their best which can break all the analysis about them.

I think Barcelona and Porto will get 3 points tonight.
I don't think Barcelona will win easily by getting 3 points tonight against Porto. Porto is not a weak team that can easily be beaten in the UCL.

Manchester city is having a hard time in converting their chances,  the crvena zvezda goal keeper is a hell of keeper, the save's he has had is   really giving an extra energy to his players.
Manchester city is playing them half field, crvena zvezda might end up having a goal down before the the end of this first half.
Yes,the crevena keeper has been excellent but they should not be carried away, because man city is a very good team that has a winning mentality and would be hunger for goal in the second half.the man city have good players  that can turn things around in a minute. Just in the 46 minutes into the second half man city has made an equalizer now 1:1  and it's just a begining of more goals for the City.
