So much trolling! I should buy more!

Well you know they've blown a fuse somewhere when the trolls have to put the natives on ignore  Wink Thats a new one on me.

Just once, cause you guys are so much fun

You totally owned him, Tok, its wrong but Sub-Ether has gone into thermo-schadenfreude meltdown.
Hey, if we try hard enough, perhaps we could all get ignored by him on our own thread ?  Grin

Edit: I tried installing and mining Monero coin early on, it was like using an Amiga in DOS with only 1 colour, and you know what, even though I'd mined loads of other coins I couldn't figure out the icky wallet miner settings at first and the interface was truly awful. When I went on the thread, there were lots of people congratulating themselves on how smart they were at working it out and how daft everyone else was for not(and that no one else deserved to mine because they were so stupid basically). And the only GPU miner took 2.5% to someone else and would flag as a trojan in the virus scanner.
I tried for a 1 day or 2, and kind of got the miner going slowly but lost heart and then give up and by then had found something waaaay better  and the rest is history Wink

Evening, many thanks, yep everything in the world of Otoh is always sunny Smiley

Even when BTer isn't giving me back the CNY/DRK that I requested a withdrawal on 11 days ago as yet Undecided

I've had no walls, or even bids, up since the 200 BTC worth at 0.0145 & it's nice to see the price just doing what the market wants with absolutely no input from me at all.

I'm always looking at my hand and the game in general, so could decide to up my bets at any time if it looks good in the moment, but rather than placing lower walls it's more likely to be large buys at market plus walls at the top in this hotter environment, the same as I did last time, if I think that the price has slipped back too far relative to value.

But anything is possible and I won't be sitting on the sidelines for too long I expect Tongue

Glad you doing well, thanks for your market update Grin I didn't realize bter still aren't paying out, I lost trust and stopped using them after the hack, was wondering if people got their btc back also ?

That is actually since today. Lite coin is losing its 'special alt status'

It's an interesting exercise to compare the Litecoin "On Balance Volume" with the darkcoin on balance volume and the darkcoin price for the same period.

Aside
Think of comparing a river and a stream and only measuring the speed of the flow. The two might be the same. But if you multiply the speed by the cross-sectional area of the flow channel, you'll get a measure called the 'volume flowrate' which takes into account how much water is being moved as well - not just the velocity. (in units of cubic metres per second instead of just metres per second). Well, just looking at price is like just looking at the speed - not the volume flowrate.

The on balance volume isn't quite like that because it's a bit cruder of a measurement - it simply pluses or minuses the volume to a running total at the end of the time slice - but it does give a volume oriented trend for long term analysis which is quite informative when compared with just price.

More info: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/technical/100801.asp

Observations
The first interesting thing to notice is that this indicator gives a more consistent signal than the price. For example, we can see that Litecoin's huge pump back in November 2013 (just prior to the China-driven bitcoin rally to $1000) isn't nearly as pronounced in volumetric terms as it is in price. The Litecoin OBV has in fact been in consistent decline going all the way back the June 2013, despite that November pump.

The second interesting thing is that on the OBV chart, Darkcoin/DASH is already above its all time high of last year despite the fact that the price is still a way off it. As stated above, that doesn't mean anything in absolute terms - it's a relative indicator, but a leading one. Notice that when the OBV signal only dropped 30%  from last year's all time high, the price signal dropped right back by over 70%. On the recent rise however, OBV has soared almost in exact proportion to the price indicating that there's potentially quite a significant volume driven move afoot.

The thing about the OBV metric is that it was invented as a way to detect "coiled spring" conditions in the market where this indicator can give advanced warning of scenarios that have not yet manifested themselves in the price but have in the volumetric analysis.

i.e. comparing with price signal, may indicate 'coiled spring' condition.      ^^^^  (P.S. "same scale" should read "same timescale")

Excellent post about the volume flow rate, and the coiled springs can be modeled like a resonant feedback amplifer set up to be an oscillator, sometimes its a net total of positive feedback and sometimes negative depending on conditions. You visualize this as a mechanical system, I see it as a damped harmonic oscillator in a electronically self resonating amplifier circuit.

Just exchanged 475k of my Doges to Drk all the transactions were instant .   Grin
Hi, pleased to meet you. If you want to have a bit of a play with one of darkcoin's wallet features, create a new receiving address as usual, then goto send and tick the instantX in the bottom right hand corner(untick darksend as no anonymous send is required) and use your own address as the recipient. There is a small fee for the instantX but it gets the point across well visually just how powerful the masternodes can be, how many seconds do you make it?  Cool

In terms of fundamentals, DRK needs to capture just 2% of BTC's marketcap (2016) of such a 18k BTC scenario (~250bn market cap) which would make it a ~5bn coin / ~5mn coins in circulation => ~1000$/DRK.

I think the breakthrough for Bitcoin will be a bond market meltdown and subsequent credit crunch.

The breakthrough for Dash will be a Litecoin meltdown when it finally fractures its support line of 0.006 after hammering off it a few times.

And what about possible ASIC scrypt miner breakdown? This will surely follow any price depreciations especially for litecoin, a scramble for the exits in order to maintain income,  when not economic and can't sell the hardware and other alts for dumping onto like feathercoin are no longer scrypt ..

Dash is working on mainnet with windows if you dare try it.
when you install it make sure you create alternate new folder if you want to run darkcoin and dash at the same time.
Then you create and set config in dash folder to:
listen=0
Now you can transfer coins from old wallet to new wallet, with both hot together, dashingly simple  Grin Grin Grin

Nah, he's just holding an empty package of scam hardware that never delivered.

Dash must be a pain in the ass to have as a competitor dampening your current scam ventures, huh Eduardo?

Of course, you've nailed it!! should have clicked earlier, this is an attack by the asic mining companies as we threaten their existence. Have wondered why not more small miners have come over to the Dash side already as 'mining' via masternodes is way easier, cheaper and asic proof than any new generation of chips.

It turns out that analysis of price cycles is not unlike vibrational analysis in resonant structures. My background was in aeronautical engineering and when I started looking at trading charts I just used that as a crutch Smiley Price cycles within price cycles.

Maybe this?
A price positive feedback loop1 mechanism creates added instability and could be = new masternode buying and taken off market.
positive feedback loop2 = new btc coming to market
negative feedback loop3 = Dash getting sold onto the market from mining and node closures (dampening factor)

When have masternodes closing and selling into market(negative loop3), this acts as a dampening effect and results in a stronger negative feedback thus creating less strong wave vibrations.
positive feedback loop2 can change to negative feedback if btc is taken out of the system instead of put in.

added up, the total feedback must be over 1 to make the system unstable with the more wild swings coupled with a higher value over unity, otherwise the system will tend to flatten out and the higher the negative feedback the more stable the system will be.

How do you run a wallet with -zapwallettx in windows machine? Thanks

You can run darkcoin-qt -zapwalletx from cmd (command prompt) or right click on the proprieties of the link of darkcoin-qt and add -zapwalletx in the argument.

the command is -zapwallettxes

If i do from cmd, is it still zapwallettxes or -zapwallettx?

-You go to cmd
-You go to the folder where you have the client
- then type: darkcoin-qt -zapwallettxes
- It will run and rescan the blockchain
- You are done

Hm, i had the same problem with stuck transaction. Did exactly what Minotaour said but i got error message "darkcoin-qt is neither internal or external command..."

Any idea what i might be doing wrong?

I also got the same error.
As Minotaur26 said, i opened cmd, went to the folder %APPDATA%\Darkcoin and then typed exactly darkcoin-qt -zapwallettxes and nothing happened. Must have missed something.

I think you are in the wrong folder, you need to run darkcoin-qt.exe which is not in the roaming data folder, use dir to check contents. I always create a folder called darkcoin dash at the top level of 'c' drive, paste the darkcoin-qt.exe into the folder and then navigate to the folder in dos via cmd using cd..

How is it a critique? Well a terrible one at best. He just says "Darkcoin is bad mkaaay?". How is that any kind of argument. Also it looks like boilerplate because I read that empty "sub par anonymity"-phrase earlier somewhere else.

No technical explanation whatsoever.

Whatever happened to the pathetic "We can de-anonymize DarkSend tx"-crowd anyway? None of those losers delivered more than smack talk just like the guy in the screenshot.

Ok, thanks! So my understanding is this: from a purely perfectionist theoretical technical point of view, Darksend might be "subpar", but it has no actual practical relevance because it is safe enough for real world usage? Correct?

Nit picking over whether something is 99.99998%  or 99.99999991% anonymous is missing the point, and anyway nothing can take the place of the global infrastructure of 2383 Masternodes facilitating instantX and now also blinding will subterfuge the coins to another anonymous level.

P.S. glad you like the Adam Curtis , btw Cool
