I am actually suprised to see the name Gary Wang coming up again. All the info that was available on him seemed like he was some made-up character - no track history, no real photos, no nothing really to be found on this guy.
Oh god, so the feds have arrested a fake guy? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Just because he wasn't every day in the spotlights it doesn't mean he wasn't real, you can't really have articles every day about every damn cofounder on this planet, especially since the guy in charge is always in the spotlight! He was a google employee, he lived with this guy in the same condo for years, that's it! If I were to ask you who the f* Robyn Denholm is probably 99% will have no clue and you can barely find anything about her on the internet also. Go to every exchange and look for the number 3 or 4 in the ranks and probably there will be less info about than this Gary Wang. What I meant to say is I am actually suprised to see Gary Wang is *not* a fake guy. It's clear now, that the FEDs actually caught him that this is the case ofc. That being said, yes, you are probably right about many people in high-but-not-the-highest-positions in different companies are mostly unknown faces.

Seems the bear market is likely going soonest. Congratulations in advance to those who bought low and those hodling for a long time. There is likely going to be a new all time high to be achieved before this year comes to an end. If you can, fill up your bag but do your own research.
What do you all think about the sudden bounce back and price increase on Bitcoin of lately?
Haha, this ages like fine... milk.* Goes to show that first of all, trying to predict short term market movements is extremely risky. Black swan events such as the FTX- and general CEX crisis are hard to predict regarding their timing - the only thing certain is, that every once in a while a massive "event" like this will happen and affect the market quite strongly. *But still, if you do some cost-average-buying over the last few months, you probably will fare quite well in the long term, meaning 2 - 5 years. Probably.

Well, let me answer this by broadening the term "loved ones" to include any relatives and bigger friend circle. Then my answer is: Nothing. I have long since given up to discuss Bitcoin in these circles, mostly because it's always the same and no-one really wants to change or really get into it (the topic I mean).
Well, sometimes, when the bear market is so strong (like after the FTX-crash) that it hits mainstream media, I get a concerned look and maybe a comment like "Bitcoin lost over 75% of it's value compared to 1 year ago, right?". Which I like to respond to with a "yes indeed, means right now is a 3x better time to invest than one year ago". But generally speaking, people just like to FOMO in when Bitcoin is high and not even touch it with a stick when it's low. I got used to it over the years. Yes, rarely you get someone truely interested and ofc I like to explain things in more detail then, but that's a true exception. Generally no-one cares enough to "take the risk" or "take the time" to do the necessary research. And nowadays I tend to keep my enthusiasm, even though still there, to myself and maybe a handful of people.
If you mean real "loved ones", actually I also don't tell them much, unless they are interested right now. The FTX-drama made for a good story, undermined by some of the mega-funny photos of these protagonists ands their insane quotes... Yeah. But these few already know that a bear market is part of the "natural" cicles of these markets and usually they are not too worried.

✂ Quick side note: I noticed quite a few pictures further down your post are not working (Coldkeys and below).
because of the pictures... i use mainly the brave browser and now and then the firefox browser i would advise you just to reload the page again They did load now. Interestingly enough before didn't work in Chrome and Firefox. Yeah I already switched to Brave on my mobile devices. Though I ran into trouble gettting it to run properly on BSD distros (that was a while ago).

Edit: Alameda Research ex-CEO Caroline Ellison and Gary Wang plead guilty to involvement in frauds causing FTX's collapse.
This implies that Caroline and Gary Wang might be in the process of creating an agreement with the SEC to tell everything they know in exchange for a lower sentence. The person who does not make the agreement will be the scapegoat and presently, this appears to be Sam Bankrupt-Fried. In any case, Sam does not appear that he wants to plead guilty and tell everything he knows. Might there be something really behind FTX? Are the speculations on the Ukraine moneylaundering operation and Democratic party connection real? I don't know Gary Wang but Caroline appears to be doing everything possible to have an agreement with the SEC by saying everything she knows about the issue. But Sam Bankman-Fried appears to believe in Mark Cohen his defense attorney capacity since he has once won a case against the SEC About the Ukraine money laundering operation and Democratic involvement, I don't know if it's real and what I read is that it is a baseless theory. I am actually suprised to see the name Gary Wang coming up again. All the info that was available on him seemed like he was some made-up character - no track history, no real photos, no nothing really to be found on this guy. Yeah, I think it is just the "smart" thing to do in this situation: Trying to lower their sentences by giving up cruicial information. Focusing on one main-target, a public scapegoat so-to speak, and ofc it has to be SBF. This will quite likely leave some of the other mega-scammers involved running free. Good for them. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

it appears that no money was actually used in the bail it was a bonded promise meaning $0 upfront
where parents would lose house and have to pay upto $250m if SBF absconds
im sure the courts also have US marshalls parked on the street outside the home 'just in case'
but i do have to laugh he is released on a bail of said $250m where by no money was needed upfront.. 'only in murica' can someone say a huge numbered value, but not need to have real money to back it up
after all isnt the crimes he is alleged of committing, that he promised to pay billions to customers but didnt have the value to pay up.. and yet the courts mention a bond amount but not request money upfront.. seems like its the 'blind leading the blind' in the same circles as the ones that tripped him up in the first place
lets imagine he did abscond. lets imagine the court demanded parents pay $250m end result they cant. so they just do an 'alex jones' and file bankruptcy to avoid paying for the rest of their lives
the court must know the bail is a "cant and wont pay" deal. so why offer it. i find it funny how SBF was released with no cash upfront and yet millions of other people on a $1k bond who cant afford that stay locked up purely because they cant afford $1k due to real poverty
While I agree with your general sentiment of very strange things happening in the courtrooms as soon as "important / rich / well connectied people" (like in this case) are involved, I think you are mistaken regarding the liquidity of SBF's parents. They own a lot of property valued in the hundrets of millions, at least that's what I read in some articles a few weeks ago. So my guess is the court could indeed get the $250M if need be.

Probably not many opportunities to catch full sets. Is there any reference site to see which coldkey-card were released exactly? I have a vague knowledge but missed some and an overview of them would be nice to have.
This is something I've actually been working on (and off lol) for some time... I started with Krogs's initial thread, but the full list is now longer and will take some more time, but when done will be on the new/updated coldkey website (That is the plan, anyhow). Nice, looking forward to it. There are way more coldkeys out there than I was aware of. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) My goodness, that thread (I haven't visited in a while) is always a stunner. And indeed great reference to any coldkeys - however, for whatever reason, many of the historic CC series image's didn't load. It felt like a browser problem, but happend in Firefox as well as Chrome.

I appreciate your efforts here! Do you share these video posts on social media at all? If not, would def recommend doing so. You’re right about most physical btc /crypto coin info being completely wrong out there outside of btalk. I don’t think anything tops this one however, enjoy- https://youtu.be/gjJZbrzBiR0(Happy to lend a hand if ever needed btw-feel free to pm me) Ahaha, what the Craig-Wright did I just watch? Just imagine he saws this poor wannabe-Bitcoin-thing in half and somehow finds a private-key inside. But all kidden aside, unless this is a well-planned troll attempt what was this guy thinking? Wanna chime in on the squirrelbits video discussion, just about to head out but quick summary of what comes to mind: I think it's a mistake to a) make such a request from liquid and b) also to take the video down (even though I respect your reasoning).

Wanna give this a tiny bump and highly recommend bisq for people looking for a - decentralized - hold your own keys - no KYC - almost p2p exchange-solution!
It may take slightly longer to fully understand bisq than a centralized exchange, but it's worth investing these extra 20 minutes.
A nice BONUS of bisq is: You can often sell 2 - 5% above exchange-price. A tiny drawback: It may take a while (usually a few hours if you go above current rate).
