I did not invest in the Dao. I taught that a crypto derivative with such a vast amount of money behind it this soon was asking for trouble. It has almost destroyed the whole ethereum idea. I stayed well clear then, and i also feel that way now. However, people have to decide for themselves. We were warned when we got involved that this was experimental. If you go to github and download the new wallet you get a warning and have to click that you agree.
White hat, Black hat, Green hats, its all the same to me, if you can work out how to do it, or prevent it you get rewarded.

That petition is a Conundrum for many. IMO all DAO should be destroyed it it a failed experiment that those that invested should lose. Basically it requires close to ATH for Monero (assuming Darkcoin will not rise).
Pretty solid assumption to make. #1 by what metric? In terms of actually being an anon coin, Monero already replaced xcoin / Darkcoin / DASH. In terms of marketcap who gives 2 shits. I propose that in order to be #1 in market cap, we just airdrop 10 bajillion coins into a burn address. Because the total number of coins is calculated by adding up coinbase, and because we can't track where the coins go after coinbase, it'll work. Three cheers for gingeropolous. I speculate that we are soon to begin our climb to the moon. I'm hoping that this bail in news will tank prices enough to nab some monero in the $1.50 range (somehow). Apparently I forgot to bold (fixed), Easy assumption to make DRK will continue it's slow death and path to obscurity. BTW price was below $1.40 the other day which I pointed out.  |

I would also love to see one verifiable post from Satoshi and see if he refers to said CC as XBT or BTC. dballing, I like your posts but have slowed down posting and adding my thoughts in any meaningful way as I've lost alot of confidence in the CC movement and have become quite jaded of late. |

Why do not you ask the DAO hackers to return the DAO he stole? If he returned it, there was no need for the hard fork. It would be a good idea to ask the DAO hacker to donate his "stolen" coins and support the development of ETC. If I gave a shit I would call for a Dev team formation and create proposals for funding goals and request the Dao holder to pledge funds from the diverted dao to an ongoing dev schedule, but what do I know. |

Last years BTC's price slumped below $173 dollars.
Clearly, not caring about criminal activity, has and does wipe Billions of dollars off a crypto currencies Market Capitalisation.
I think people investing in ETC have a poor grasp on what adds value to every tool or service ever created.
So, I will put this into a binary explanation:
Direction A: removes flaws or aspects that reduce the value of the tool or service.
Direction B: add new features or improvements to the that tool or service.
Because Ethereum is a crypto currency, Direction A and Direction B will frequently require hard forks and soft forks, otherwise increases in the value of that tool or service can never happen.
I really don't think a crypto currency that never does any hard forks or soft forks will have any scope to increase its' fundamental value, because it will have very little scope to do either Direction.

Vitalik tweeted this several hours ago, in response to the question "Would you support ETC if it had the longer blockchain". The market is responding. The return to 0.0040+ after several hours of dips shows that the popular sentiment behind ETC is stronger than just one guy. Important test - the price goes from 0.0036 to 0.0043 (the tiny green upturn). Will the hash rate (red line) follow? Anyone worshiping at the alter of Vitalik is a retard. i only have few but i dumped my eth for ETC  That was smart initially but then you should have dumped again at peak. Both chains are fuked. well...it was a wild ride...now it's just the baggers picking the bones off the average miners holdings...pump, manipulate...then leave when they've squeezed every last etc out and traded it for btc. Miners, you realize you are now just either selling your hard mined coins at flea market prices or mining to support 'their' coin value..all the while mining to support their 'blockchain'....because the blockchain IS basically centralized in the hands of a few thousand people. It's THEIR blockchain. In a week, maybe two...they will jump off to another coin...leaving miners with electric bills and equipment used that made the baggers more wealthy....while we return to cryptonews to scavage for new releases...
I realized how this all worked when I saw whales buying their own sells (playing both sides to pump the price). When you have 100-200 btc, you can set up a sell that is high, then buy it yourself....lol...people watching are like 'wow!....look at the buys and the volume...lol...all just manipulated by two or three whales on each exchange. I saw walls on both sells and buys that were so obviously set up to manipulate price and motives of small holders...it was amusing to watch to some extent...they repeat this cycle until the coin is essential gone, until miners hold enough, then they repeat the strategy...I believe this is why some coins are moving to be backed by actual physical things like gold and silver...to create a price to value ratio that is not just completely arbitrary...

Everytime btc gets in trouble by a security compromising event, people rush to Eth. IMHO, you should fireclay link Eth buy to btc price. When price is down, directly buy Eth, if your faster than the market you're one rich motherfucker !
The bitcoin is in big trouble at the moment. It seems it has hacked in some exchanges. So people will use Ethereum instead. LOL what a retarded statement, on so many levels I don;t know where to start. |
