10401  Economy / Economics / Re: 🔴 Breaking News - Elon Musk is going to part with all his Bitcoin BTC on: May 23, 2021, 03:30:54 AM
See it as an opportunity to buy more and hold more bitcoins than if you had bought it when it's still high. We can't really blame Elon for selling his coins for whatever reason he wants to because before being a visionary, he was a regular person just like us. And admittedly regular me would also sell my bitcoins for fiat just so I can spend it on something that I am really passionate about. Let this selling not be something that would make us forget about what Elon is all about, which is primarily technological advancement and helping us become a space-faring species.

IMO, it will be beneficial for Bitcoin in the long run to get rid of manipulators such as Elon Musk. Let him sell his coins and move his wealth to some of the shitcoins such as Doge. Temporarily the Bitcoin exchange rates may fall due to the massive amounts involved here, but eventually the market will stabilize. And once the market stabilizes after the exit of Elon Musk, we will be ready for the next bull run. IMO, Elon's entry in to cryptocurrency has so far done more harm than good for BTC. The sooner he makes his exit, that much better.
10402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 23, 2021, 03:20:23 AM
The RCB fans needs to simulate the entire tournament for them to win the tournament  Cheesy, it is a sad situation for them as they never won the trophy despite having some of the best T20 players in their team and they started well in this tournament but who knows whether that form will continue till the final stages of the tournament.
I will be surprised if they reach the finals  Cheesy.

We don't know whether all of the foreign players will be available once the IPL resumes. Many of the important players have already made it quite clear that they will not be taking part in the resumed tournament. And this can have a major impact on some of the teams such as RCB, SRH and CSK which are overdependent on the overseas contingent. The latest news from IPL is that it will resume by September this year.. and that is even more interesting because some of the other teams are having fixtures during that time. So even if the overseas players are willing to take part, they need to chose between IPL and national duty.
10403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: May 23, 2021, 03:10:07 AM
Hopefully, with that lottery's, people wants to get the vaccine because that is for their health and protecting them from the virus. The prizes are not important, but their health will be the important thing that they need to concern about. If they can be the winner after the vaccine, that will be their bonus because they follow what their government suggested. It should need more attention from people and awareness to get the vaccine. Besides that, the vaccine is free and they do not have to pay anything.

Several months have passed since the vaccination program has started in the United States. And despite widespread concerns initially, adverse effects from the vaccination have been noted from very few recipients. Almost half of the population has so far received both doses of the vaccine. At this point, there is no point in encouraging people who are reluctant to take vaccine to get inoculated. The field data is already available and if someone still don't want the vaccine, then IMO he or she shouldn't be forced.
10404  Other / Off-topic / Re: Now tell me if you still believe on Elon Musk. on: May 22, 2021, 04:44:34 AM
I did not follow Elon Musk's tweet from the beginning, I think it's bad enough, because it's just a meme coin, he wants to make it the main crypto, I don't think it's going to happen, It's a risk to follow it, some of my friends also bought doge above. Very bad for following Elon Musk.

If you check his tweets, you can see a clear pattern. It is not that he made all those tweets instantaneously. First he made tweets praising Bitcoin, which made tens of millions of Bitcoiners to rally around him. Once he got their attention, he disowned Bitcoin saying that it is not energy efficient. And then, as per the plan he started promoting Dogecoin. Whales made tens of billions of USD from Dogecoin. Now I don't think that Elon is done here. He will be back with his manipulative tactics, and we need to be prepared for that.
10405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China bans Bitcoin again in 2021 on: May 22, 2021, 04:34:06 AM
No surprise to see China banning bitcoin, isn't that happen already before? like in 2017 if I recall it correctly? Not many countries supported bitcoin, many already ban and make bitcoin as something illegal too, china is not the only one. This news will make everyone panic, since China impact is huge. We need to be careful and anticipate the market downfall soon i guess.

China has never taken a favorable view of Bitcoin. The first time they attempted a ban was in 2013, which sent Bitcoin prices crashing back then. And then from time to time, the Chinese government has caused corrections in the cryptocurrency market with their policy changes. But all that said, it is important to note that China hasn't explicitly banned Bitcoin. The ban only covers conversion of Bitcoin to fiat (and vice versa). Chinese nationals are free to do Bitcoin trading using stablecoins.
10406  Economy / Economics / Re: Year 2021-2022 will be very Good and very Bad. on: May 22, 2021, 04:19:39 AM
Economically speaking it was difficult for this year to be that much better than 2020, governments took all kind of measures to keep the market alive during the pandemic thinking that if we were able to pass those difficult times things will fix themselves when everything went to normal once again, but this is not the case, most economies depend heavily on their internal consumption by their citizens and many of them are saving their money for a rainy day and this is causing problems for the economy as not enough money is circulating, which is forcing governments to print even more money to try to make people to spend more.

The impact from the pandemic will be visible for the next few years, even if it is completely contained within this year. Because the poor and the middle class have seen their savings evaporating, and the governments are also facing huge fiscal deficits. Many of the sectors such as hospitality are in ruin. IMO, it will take at least a decade for the economy to come back to the previous level. And the biggest joke is that at this point of time, no one is even considering the possibility of the pandemic extending for another year or so.
10407  Economy / Economics / Re: 🔴 Breaking News - Elon Musk is going to part with all his Bitcoin BTC on: May 22, 2021, 04:06:41 AM
Not necessarily. All bitcoin has going for it is perception, which is why maximalists battle so hard to try and control the narrative. If growing numbers of people lose confidence in bitcoin or don't believe it will always increase in value, it won't. The perception makes the reality. So any loss of influence is a blow to the future of bitcoin.

Agreed. But when Elon has openly stated that Bitcoin is inefficient, then we can't expect Tesla to take a positive view of Bitcoin. Loss of influence is a blow for Bitcoin and there is no doubt about it. A part of the recent dip can also be attributed to this. But the question here is whether this setback is permanent or temporary. Can Bitcoin recover to the previous levels, without any help from Tesla or Elon? Now I am also not sure about this, and we need to watch the price movements for the next few months to reach a conclusion.
10408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: May 22, 2021, 03:56:10 AM
I won't get myself vaccinated just to have a chance to get millions of money. I have a neighbor who died after she get vaccinated and the family only received 1 sack of rice (50kg) and then forgotten that it happened. Even now in my country, if you get vaccinated you'll get money right after. Each people have different body and the immune system is also different because some are strong and some are weak.

The vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer will not deliver the vaccines unless the governments sign indemnity bonds with them. That means that of something happens during the vaccination phase and the individual who is receiving the vaccine undergoes any serious adverse reaction, then the vaccine manufacturer is not responsible for that. They don't have to pay any sort of compensation, or even acknowledge those deaths. As per the indemnity bond, it is the responsibility of the government to provide compensation.
10409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 22, 2021, 03:45:23 AM
Bangladesh is always much stronger in their home ground. They are capable of defeating any team on their own ground. Bangladesh's pitches are much more suitable for spinners. If Sri Lanka manages a spin dependent team then maybe they can play well against Bangladesh. Bangladesh will win the ODI series by any means. I think so. The Test and T20 series will be competitive.

No sure about the test series, but looks as if Bangladesh is having the advantage with the shorter formats. In test format, Bangladesh has historically performed poorly. So unless there is a miracle from the hosts, I would say that Sri Lanka is having the advantage. And given the fact that Bangladesh is always overdependent on a few important players, the return of Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman should boost them. BTW, in the fixtures I could only find the ODIs. Test matches are also scheduled for this tour?
10410  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: May 22, 2021, 03:34:07 AM
People really do not respect the rules of safety and health, sometimes despite warnings and still behave comfortably when stepping out on the street, they just raise more consciousness as Covid gets scarier but maybe this is a late repentance because I see the pandemic is getting out of control in so many countries. Besides, the mutation process of this disease has developed relatively strongly, this will probably continue to be a rather sad year for many people, India is the first place for disaster

In India, things are complicated because the opposition parties are trying their level best to sabotage the government efforts to contain the pandemic. A few days ago, it was revealed that the main opposition party had prepared a "toolkit" for the social media to discredit the government efforts and create panic among the public. These political parties don't care if people are dying. They just want their own political agenda to get the priority.
10411  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: May 22, 2021, 03:24:38 AM
At present, even though there is a Covid-19 vaccine, the increase in Covid continues to increase in several countries, one of which is India, if Covid-19 has completely disappeared on this earth, then world economic growth will gradually increase, because currently there is a lot of unemployment which makes people have to adapt back to their original jobs

Indian government made the mistake of prioritizing 45 plus age group for vaccination. They should have actually vaccinated as many people as possible with the first dose, before administrating the second dose. But they went the other direction and that reduced the vaccine coverage. Now most of the deaths are occurring among those who are under 45 years. And given the enormous population size of India, the situation is unlikely to change for the next 5-6 months.
10412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 22, 2021, 03:14:55 AM
Lockdown is going on in India now. But the rural people of India do not follow the lockdown rules. So even after the government gave the lockdown, the virus infection is not decreasing. If BCCI had been more aware of the corona virus, this season's IPL might not have stopped. At the moment, there is no possibility of starting the IPL before the virus infection subsides.

Here the second wave seems to have plateaued. The number of infections per day are now in the 250K range, down from the 400-450K figures which we were having a few days back. But that doesn't mean that it is safe to conduct major tournaments such as the IPL and the T20 World Cup. Not just the rural population, but also a large part of the urban population has scant regard for law and they don't follow lockdown guidelines. For the remainder of the year, the situation is likely to remain worse.
10413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Cricket Match-Fixing Scandal on: May 22, 2021, 03:04:47 AM
Sigh,,, welcome to Asian politics which bleeds all the corruption and scandals into sports. Happens in football also and even small games like badminton, but yes, very problematic in cricket.

In Pakistan, the country's leader was an ex cricket player too so we all know cricket gains respect and it leads you into a path to popularity and politics. Very sad but unfortunately,,, nothing new.

First of all, cricket is different from other sports. The other sports bodies such as basketball and football are managed by former players, who care about the sport. But in case of cricket, the former players are rarely involved in administration. The power lies with people like N Srinivasan (one of the accused in the 2015 IPL fixing scandal) and Sharad Pawar (a politician with alleged links to the D-gang) who don't have any connection to cricket. Naturally they are not interested in the well being of cricket and don't care much about the match fixing issue.
10414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China bans Bitcoin again in 2021 on: May 21, 2021, 05:42:27 AM
US government banned it  much earlier didn't it? Most crypto exchanges are not supported in the US

What sort of rubbish? When did the Americans banned cryptocurrency? In fact many of the earliest cryptocurrency exchanges are based in the United States. On the other hand, there is a fiat ban on cryptocurrencies in China and direct fiat to cryptocurrency trading is not possible there. And that is the reason why a lot of Chinese users depend upon exchanges in Hong Kong and South Korea. But in the United States, the exchanges don't face any sort of restrictions (in any of the states).
10415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: May 21, 2021, 05:16:09 AM
Because not all people had a healthy body mate  and people like us who has a internal problem are afraid of the vaccine effect.
Maybe experts not seeing the possibilities but me? i will not risk my life and i would rather be isolated from people just to be protected from covid than vaccination .

A large number of the new deaths from the new strains of COVID 19 is now occurring in young people who don't have any comorbidities. If you can isoalate yourself, then it is good for you. But for how long you are going to isolate? What if the pandemic goes on for 5 years? Will you reside inside your room and never step outside for 5 years? What I am trying to say is that vaccination is the only solution. The infection spreads through air, and no matter how much you try, eventually it will catch up with you.
10416  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla stops car purchases with Bitcoin on: May 21, 2021, 04:56:24 AM
We probably don't know what Ellon really wants to do at this point. but he is a clever person who can see opportunities and can hypnotize many people in the crypto world, whatever his words seem to be a direction for crypto enthusiasts, we will understand after something happens, and it seems he is not an easy person to read

IMO, Elon's influence is on the wane. The next time he attempts some manipulation like this, the results won't be in his favor. This time it worked, because cryptocurrency users were not expecting him to suddenly come against BTC and promote DOGE. Now coming to his real intention, it is difficult to say exactly what he want. Some are arguing that he want to dish out his own cryptocurrency. Others are saying that he want to pump Dogecoin and in the long term want that shitcoin to topple Bitcoin from the position as no.1 cryptocurrency.
10417  Economy / Economics / Re: Year 2021-2022 will be very Good and very Bad. on: May 21, 2021, 04:25:32 AM
Although it looks fine on the outside, the global economy is not in a good state. The pandemic has been ongoing for more than one year and many of the economies around the world are just surviving because of stimulus measures. But these measures can't go on for ever. If the government indulges in unlimited printing of fiat currency, then ultimately the inflation rate will increase and that will destroy the savings of the middle class (for the rich, it may not impact them much because most of their assets are in the form of real estate and other assets that are protected from inflation).
10418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: May 21, 2021, 04:13:12 AM
I agree with this lottery offering proving that it is indeed very difficult to convince people to want a vaccine. Maybe in addition to this lottery offering,
more education should be made to many people about the importance of vaccines. But the idea of offering a lottery for people willing to get a vaccine is
a brilliant idea not many other governments are doing. Perhaps what the Ohio government is doing is starting to be followed by other regions in America,
if it can be followed by other countries as well.

I don't believe that it is a "brilliant" idea. Those who are not taking the vaccine are mostly antivaxxers, who believe that the vaccines will make the individual impotent or result in other complications. I don't think that they will rush for vaccination, just because the state government has offered a one in one billion chance of winning a lottery jackpot. The state government should rather care about those who are willing to get vaccinated. After all, it is a personal choice and the authorities can't infringe on it.
10419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fully vaccinated individuals now spared of masks in the casinos in Vegas on: May 21, 2021, 04:03:13 AM
Obviously, there will a hard verification for that. Casinos can't just be deceived by some fake papers or documents. These businesses are operated by big businessmen so expect that there's a professional approach for anything.

As if casinos will just allow a customer to enter their premises just by saying "I'm vaccinated".

In other parts of the globe, there are regions already that allow the non-wearing of facemasks just like Israel because most of their people are now vaccinated. That's why wearing face mask or any protection will now be based on us if we still want to wear it or not in the public.

Here in India, there is an app in which we have to register before receiving our vaccination. The national ID (Aadhar card) is linked to it, and once you are vaccinated you can download a certificate of vaccination from the app. It can be counterfeited, but not very easy to do so. I guess in the United States also they have some sort of mechanism like this, which will allow a person to show that he has received both doses of the Pfizer or the Moderna vaccine.
10420  Economy / Economics / Re: 3.9million users took part in the Elon Musk poll; What will be Tesla's decision? on: May 21, 2021, 03:51:40 AM
I think Ellon is very clever, it's like that I think, it's all part of a clever strategy. What do we blame Ellon for? he can read the odds, he has the ability, and I think he takes advantage of it and ultimately makes a profit. we'll wait what he does after this, after resigning from bitcoin

The problem with manipulation is that one type of manipulation can be done only once. Now everyone is aware of the intentions from Elon Musk, and he won't be able to do the same time of manipulation again. And his disruptive tactics only had a limited impact, as the prices quickly recovered from $31,000 to $41,000 in just 24-hours. And in all probability, the exchange rates will be back to the previous levels in a couple of weeks. This correction phase provided the whales an opportunity to accumulate coins at low levels.
