In my case, i monitor this 10min per day and ban for 1 week first. Then, i look in the DEBUG.LOG to see if ban filter is hiting many time in the minute.
I think I have banned them all. They seem to use 3 connection slots per IP address (they used different ports and/or clients), which makes it easy to ban all of them via the GUI. There isn't a need to compile a list of IPs IMO. If someone doesn't want to bother with it completely they could ban 52.x.x.x (again, not recommended).

yep, same result since end of this friday and in progress :
- bitcoin-seeder flash connexion - and a lot of 52.xxx.xxx.xxx that's use all slots availables (bitcoinj identity).
banned for 1 year.
They seem to be different IPs from the last time, although it is highly likely that the entity behind them is still the same. I'll compile a full IP list later on. I guess completely banning AWS is one option, but that "damages" genuine nodes hosted there. Is there a connection between confirmation time and network attacks?
No, there is no correlation between confirmation time and this attack on the network (unknown type; probably spying).

It has started again (as also observed by others):
If anyone has time, please collect some logs and report to Amazon. I'll try to assemble the list of IPs (they seem different) and update the thread.

Why?
I guess 'thank you' or '+1' on useful posts wouldn't be a bad idea (as a way of showing appreciation), but then again it isn't really necessary. With all the farmed/bought accounts voting a +1, what purpose would it serve?
I think that it would aid to help spread misinformation, among other (bad) things, as they could easily up-vote nonsense posted by their other accounts.. This is why a poll is laughable here.
I concur. It's too easily to manipulate one.

Such posts are of no value to the forum and thus they get deleted as a breach of the following rule: 1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.
You can read the full list of rules here.

I see nothing unusual here. The hack was massive, and 'traders' and 'speculators' are concerned that they may never get their money back. Similar stuff happened with Bitstamp after they've been hacked a while ago. I would say that it is a very positive thing that they've already started redeeming some tokens and paying people back. Hopefully, everyone will eventually gain all of their funds back which should restore (at least some) confidence. i think is not good because not new accident and repeat post again after 3month
There's nothing wrong with pointing out that Bitfinex is struggling, which is actually the case.

Can you tell me what is altcoins , please give me brief explanation about it and how we use it?
Simple: Any coin or chain that is not Bitcoin. That said, your question is off-topic. Hardforks with two surviving chains are not a type of voting mechanism. What you are describing is called a failure of consensus.
I have to agree with this, and this is one of the primary reasons for which such "implementations" shouldn't be promoted. AFAIK Bitcoin.com has BU as their "featured wallet", so they shouldn't be complaining that BTCT primarily has Core (hypocrisy?). PS - Maybe it is time to include Cyrus on that page. Good catch, time to ping theymos!

It's in the gambling section and it's called an Investor-based game, so you should realize that you have a risk of losing money.
I don't think that many people realize this, and by supporting such games, you end up indirectly supporting those that end up scamming with their 'investor based games'. The red trust lets players see that it's not a positive thing to support but cryptodevil doesn't speak on behalf of the forum
No, cryptodevil is not, and can not speak on behalf of the forum.

Is this supposed to be a guide on how to and when to leave trust? If so, it is inadequate although a good attempt. With the input of other members and some better formatting/styling it may turn out to be a decent one.
As far as ratings are concerned, you are allowed to leave someone one for whatever reason. However, this may have negative effects if you try to paint someone with negative ratings due to random/irrelevant/inadequate reasons. The same applies for positive trust. However, I would say that for one-time (and especially small) trades a neutral rating is adequate (as a way of 'recording' a successful trade). Should probably changed to "This is your trust list page" as it may cause confusion.

Okay. Well thanks to all for your help and explanations. Things are a little clearer now Any suggestions of an exchange that I can use as an alternative? That depends on where you are located. Good suggestions for Europe would be Bitstamp and Kraken. US would be Circle and Coinbase I guess. Others may have better input on this matter as barely use exchanges. You could also use the search function to find old discussion regarding this topic.
