10441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: June 20, 2017, 11:54:14 PM
It could be very profitable. The SIA algo is very easy to implement onto an ASIC. Speeds could be very similiar to SHA256.

So if they came out with a 1TH/s SIA miner, that would generate about ~$2000/day.

10442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Possibly a good cheap Mining Case Idea - Frankenstein Case on: June 20, 2017, 11:20:32 PM
I think the cheapest method is just to buy a server chassis and mod it to include more industrial fans. Should be cheaper than 2x Full towers.

Rosewill R4000 or L4000 should work.

The devs need to do something quick with this ice-age because there is crazy backlogs going on with the ETH blockchain. Look at Bittrex

10444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Possibly a good cheap Mining Case Idea - Frankenstein Case on: June 20, 2017, 10:26:09 PM
I've spent about €15 today for wood and screws and built mining rigs out of wood, each able to hold 5 cards. Took me 30 minutes to build both.
I don't think you can get much cheaper than getting some wood and screws and building it yourself.

Did you even read his post? He was talking about an closed air case not open air.

Probably a hacked bitcointalk account.
10446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Case desktop/rig options on: June 20, 2017, 09:30:35 PM
There are none you can buy. You need to custom modify them yourself using server chassis cases. Search the forum there are a few examples.

Its a little labour intensive. Keep in mind it will be really loud since its closed case.

With the Metropolis release these block times will be fixed back to 14 seconds however the Ethereum foundation devs are delaying the release as late as possible to control the supply.

10449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Drop of hashrate for Polaris cards incoming on: June 20, 2017, 07:44:58 PM
i'm still sitting here with 7970's and 290(x)'s Tongue

Hey man right now you may be safer then alot of people haha, your prob ROI on those cards and can always just (keep?) mining equihash or XMR ;p
very unknown times for the bigger AMD miners tho

yes indeed, 7970s mine mostly equihash, 7870s cryptonight, and the 290(x) eth, though the last might change soon due to the difficulty rise, we will see
cards have roi'd a long time ago Tongue

Isn't equihash more profitable for your 7870? You should get close to 200h/s with them.
10450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Difficulty +11% in less than 24 hours. on: June 20, 2017, 07:05:20 PM
https://etherchain.org/charts/difficultyBomb

So how does this work exactly because it says 0.016% which seems small but yet the blocktimes are now > 17 seconds which is 20% higher than normal.

Difficulty Bomb factor:   137,438,953,472 (0.016 %)

So every new block gets added the above difficulty? So 0.016% per block?

So after 5000 blocks (1 day) it will increase the difficutly by 0.016% * 5000 = 80%?

That can't be correct.

Anyone understand the coding behind this ice-age?
10451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Difficulty +11% in less than 24 hours. on: June 20, 2017, 08:46:57 AM
Also to make matters worse since we passed 3,900,000 block, the ice-age difficulty factor went up also.

10452  Economy / Gambling / Re: Chain-Bet.com - 15x Winning | On Chain | Provably Fair on: June 20, 2017, 08:31:24 AM

Certain important changes has been made at https://www.Chain-Bet.com . . .

- Now, the winning is 15x.

- Nothing is deducted from bet amount any more.

- Minimum amount of bet is now 0.005 BTC.

What sparked the decision to lower the multiplier down to 15x? That brings the house edge up to a whopping 6.25%, which is over 6 times the bitcoin gambling industry standard (1%). There is almost 0 point in betting here now (only reason to bet is to wager and try to make a profit block hashes specifically). Taking the fixed fee would probably still be better for the player, since a 0.02BTC bet @ 5% edge is still lower than a 0.02BTC bet @ 6.25% edge. Way better to play on a normal dice site.

Yeah I'm pretty sure people will still gamble even with the higher house edge. Reason being is that most people these days are tired of dice and want something different.

Same way by people go to Casinos and instead of playing Roulette which has a low house edge they play slots which has the highest house edge there is.

This way you get to watch the blocks go by and you got protection that you aren't being cheated simply by Bitcoins huge hashrate
10453  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular, Oldest & Trusted | Huge Community | Free BTC | 🎂 on: June 20, 2017, 08:28:33 AM

Just visited the forum after a few weeks and looks like forum is gone through alot of updates since i was gone. I really like the new theme.  Wink

Glad you're liking it! Let me know if you have any suggestions Smiley

I miss my old faucet. Can i get the original faucets back in my account? Username: Klu

If I am not mistaken, there is a thread in primedice forum for people who are requesting their faucet amount to be reinstated, just can't find it atm.

But why have the faucets been reset?

I am member since 2015 I think and my lvl is 14 with 2+ BTC waggered but I am still stuck with the standard 100 satoshi faucet.

Did they add any new requirement?

When was the last time you made a BTC deposit? Because if you keep just using the faucet without actually making any new deposits they might limit your account.

Other users in here got no warning and they couldn't gamble at all, they had zero faucet.

Your account is legacy so you might of gotten lucky but you need to deposit some BTC to keep claiming it.

10456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / ETH Difficulty +11% in less than 24 hours. on: June 20, 2017, 08:15:52 AM
This is probably one of the largest difficulty jumps i've seen recently. For the past month or so we were averaging +25% in 1 week or so.

But today alone it spiked up +11%

3896897   Block   eu1   June 19th 2017, 9:13:15 am   765.6 T   11.4 TH/s   69s
3901922   Block   eu1   June 20th 2017, 8:09:45 am   847.7 T   11.4 TH/s   35s   213%

That equates to around 200,000 GPUs (assuming 28MH/s)

We started the year off with 200,000 GPUs mining in total.

Really starting to suspect some type of ETH ASICs out there since the difficult jump is looking exponential for the first time. Before it was linear.

The 0.3% DAG slowdown for the RX series doesn't seem so significant anymore.
10457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Drop of hashrate for Polaris cards incoming on: June 20, 2017, 07:43:16 AM
The drop was 0.1 MH/s. So isn't that like 0.35%. Who calculated 2%.

Looks like difficulty went up 4% in the last 24 hours; the 0.35% doesn't really bug me.
10458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is everyone using racks instead of ATX cases for GPU mining? on: June 20, 2017, 07:41:27 AM
There are more cons for the open rigs. Like most likely your mom/girlfriend/wife will hate looking at it and since its open air its hard to direct the air-flow; which is bad for the summer.

2008

Bitcoin was invented in 2009.

Hi Everybody and Claymore Dev.

I monitoring Claymore V9.5  from epoch 128-130. Hashrate is Down. I used RX480 8GB x6 on hashrate around 175.5 MH/s

epoch 128 : 175.5 MH/s
epoch 129 : 174.3 MH/s
Now epoch 130 : 173.1 MH/s

please help me . Why to resolve this. Thank you

Its normal.
Thanks adaseb, Please let me know, why  ? . Thank you

Its a bug on a software or hardware level with those types of GPUs.
