10461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Advantages of Bitcoin Recognized by Land Rover on: June 22, 2020, 03:01:47 PM
It's not anything fake or malicious, on the contrary this is a very good advertisement for Bitcoin since the video will be seen by a lot of people who may have never heard of Bitcoin (in 5 days 115 500 views). They also say clearly in their advertisement "Bitcoin network is created", which makes it clear that it is not just about blockchain that many identify with Bitcoin.ttps://i.imgur.com/WnCUh16.jpg[/img]

Actually, for me, this is even a better plug for Bitcoin than you could hope for from a famous brand (referencing the time Bitcoin was born).

LR's been in blockchain for a while already I think, at least trialing some tech, can't remember what for exactly.

But yeah, just that simple line is enough, without doling out the extremist text about revolutionising money or whatever that many companies otherwise choose to do.
10462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was *anyone* contacted by "Barely Sociable" to research their video? on: June 22, 2020, 11:36:13 AM
You can leave Roger Ver alone, scamming people, but you want actual Bitcoiners to stop telling newbies that Bitcoin is Bitcoin Core?

Um no, I'm referencing your Carlos Matos share. There are copies of him out there just telling people to go sell their houses and go all in on Bitcoin and selling it like it's a ponzi. That's who I'm more concerned about because then we get all kinds of people buying "Bitcoin" on apps and exchanges thinking they actually have Bitcoin and that it's going to revolutionise their shit and get them lambos and hos.

Maybe if we get less of them we'd not get people borrowing from banks to buy Bitcoin and then face jail cause they defaulted when someone forgot to tell them Bitcoin won't make them overnight millionaires.
10463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on Braver browser? on: June 22, 2020, 09:27:40 AM
A bit weird for the CEO to say Braver won't work just because it dropped revenue streams and can only rely on donations. Sure, but if it does turn out to be a good product and there are users who definitely find resonance with that, it could work why not? I still use some stuff today that has always relied entirely on donations (Irfanview is one haha). Bitcoin development too, actually, if you look at it (and don't say blockstream haha).
10464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: June 22, 2020, 08:25:44 AM
Not gonna lie, this one has put a significant dent in my wallet. I managed to cover part of the loses live betting later on but it hurt anyway. Well it is what it is, today is a new day and opportunity to cash big Smiley This time next year we'll be millionaires as Del used to say.

Put a big one on one sportsbook (all my remaining balance haha) on a single, and lost 2 other parlays (it was the last leg too) so yeah, a huge dent in mine too. Haha.

Our Mina was industrious, and we were the better side, but I wondered if we were afraid to try and shoot -- should have tried more shots, given that we were never going to be able to trick our way into the box without Salah. Oh well like you said.

Well done hilarious and webtricks though!

Sorry for suckering you in Trofo. I feel really bad.

I actually had the nagging feeling as soon as I saw the HT lineup. Milner wasn't so worrying but when Gomez had to play LB, and then Lovren had to come in, then I knew we simply weren't equipped to penetrate once Keita got off.

Oh well:)

Least I got the other parlay right, so it softens the blow and we're a step to freebets.

Tonight:
Game 1: Lecce vs Milan. Milan WIN @1.63. SB odds: 1.62
Game 2: City vs Burnley. Corners over 9.5 @1.43. SB odds: 1.39
Game 3: Bologna vs Juventus. Juve WIN @1.65. SB odds: 1.64
Game 4: Leganes vs Granada. Granda WIN @3.55. SB odds: 3.55
100 units parlay at FortuneJack @13.84. SB parlay: 13.10

Odds advantage: 5.64%
Units advantage: 74

Running advantage after 330 bets: +8,032.62 (+74)
All-time cumulative: +30,031.84
Running units after 329 bets (54W|275L): +10,237.15 (-600 for 2 settled bets including yesterday's 500unit bet, and +187 = -413)

It's for the community to educate the newbies too, and it's very important that they get their information from the RIGHT PEOPLE first. OR someone named Kevin Pham/Roger Ver will gaslight them into believing that BSV is the real Bitcoin, or BCH is the real Bitcoin.

Lawls Carlos Matos, you know he's all cleaned up and admitted he lost money and all that yeah? They don't wise up though, they just wash rinse and repeat but anyway, I'm less worried about guys like him and Ver gaslighting people... I tend to believe over time that people who fall for scams will fall for them anyway no matter how much we try to prevent it. We can delay it but perhaps the faster they learn, the better for them.

It's the guys who actually ARE promoting Bitcoin with the exact same language I wish would pipe down a bit more=p

Sorry for the incomprehensibility, in this particular scenario, the word Express is the synonym of Parlay.

As for the qualification part, they will be marked as qualified only after they're being settled.

~snip
Let me know if there's anything that I can help you with, cheers.

Very awesome, I think this covers it all then, since I was only confused about Express. This should mean that I can easily qualify since I'm really only playing the Big Four leagues in football! My first qualifying parlay last night won too (Valencia + Inter) so I'm good!;)
10468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: June 21, 2020, 06:58:00 PM
Pam I'm actually safe on all my parlays so far, including Steve's MM which I've been following since Bundesliga restarted. I was expecting Salah not to play or start, but I was NOT expecting Robertson to not even be on the bench and it's been telling. Millie was awesome with his interceptions but he's not a crosser and when Trent's having an off day, like he seems to be now (3 over hit crosses and one tame direct freekick), I'm not sure how we'll do with Gomez on the left.

Mina's not bad but not on song with the others as usual. And Mane gave him the shot in injury time when he normally takes it himself. I think we'll still edge this, just need to screw it on tighter now!
10469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: June 21, 2020, 05:55:36 PM
@toke you and me both nervous watching Lampard's boys look silly for an entire hour almost. So good Lampard made those subs EARLY. Giroud a bit lucky but it was coming anyway and I'll take a win any way I can. Weird to have Chelsea on 3 parlays I just thought they should be hungry enough. Immediate impact on sharpness. I think Rudiger's been the most affected player I've seen that I know of well enough post covid. Slow, lumbering behemoth tripped three times over himself -- I want to say just as bad as Kane was, but Kane at least had defenders nipping at his ankles.

Anyway, now for what matters.

@webtricks. Salah wasn't a surprise actually. He's not been in the last few training sessions, injury.

Come on you REDS!

@Trofo: Saw you went for the solid win too, and I know it's a bit of overconfidence but I also know the pressure is on Everton to redeem themselves after our kids knocked them out with THAT beauty.

I'm all in on this one. Call me stupid =D
10470  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Poker Today! 1BTC prizepool! Free Watford EPL shirt for entry on: June 21, 2020, 04:30:56 PM
Steady win for Newcastle, I think Joelinton will remind people what he's there for!

Steve and I will be a bit worried now. Chelsea still look the better team, but lacking teeth up front. Rudiger's looking extremely slow and silly at the back, feel like he's been the main liability now, but subbing Pulisic and Barkley in right now at 55th min is probably the way to find a way back in.

@Pamoldar well you'll be pleased to know the pokernights have been getting really popular. I can't remember what I got in the Pool but I think 3-0 for the Reds. It's the only result I'm caring about for now. Dinner done and dusted. Now to cap it all off! GL!

Edit: See? Subs changed at 2 goals in 6 minutes. Rare for me to say but: go Chelski! =D
10471  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying the dips: do you have a specific criteria? on: June 21, 2020, 03:41:45 PM
I don't follow any of that TA, for me it's strictly psychological round numbers, with targets close to them or just below them (so that's 8k, 9k, 10k, etc).

Note, I don't actually BUY, I earn in BTC so I try to time invoices near there, when I have any. Same goes for selling.

It's a completely ridiculous experiment I'll say, as I make/lose just as much as when I don't time, so there you go.
10472  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: June 21, 2020, 02:39:13 PM
My guess is they still don't appear as qualifying bets because you might still cash them out before event end and cashed out bets don't get counted for promo purposes.

Btw, following to know what an express bet is.

Good explanation, and I guess you're right there. It would be nice to have a sort of tick next to the betslip to see that it qualifies for the promo, or any other promo for that matter. There's a 4+1 tab, but yeah I guess I'll have to wait for it to settle to find out.

@ralle14: Thanks for that find. I actually tried searching myself and Googling but there was nothing I could find. First time I've heard of the term "express bet" so hope I'm right.

I'd probably take a couple more bets if I knew they were valid but since there's no way of knowing, I'll test it out first.

@FJ maybe for complicated promos like this could be useful to have a checklist next to parlay that "ticks" if you make enough qualifying actions... then we know for sure every tick is done. Know what I mean?Wink
10473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Collective Intelligence Effects on Bitcoin Price Value Predictions on: June 21, 2020, 01:23:53 PM
I changed my mind at the vote and found myself to be the only dissenting opinion haha... (I'm the one below 10k against in the next range at time of posting).

I do think price will go above 10k in most of the remaining months but I'm also wary of the final quarter of the year, when most economies globally will finally be feeling the first pinch of the contracting productivity and Covid closures. I believe 2021 is when the true fallout begins, but by that time BTC should be standing on stronger legs.

But it will, like back in March, also feel the blowback from the folding of major banks, economies, even some fiats.
10474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: June 21, 2020, 12:02:39 PM
Arsenal are shit.

Yeah, even before lockdown seriously, they been bagging me good odds.

Lol @ hilarious, yeah Arsenal are a really, really low quality team, they’re miles off being a team capable of qualifying for the CL which should be their aim as a big club. It seems an eternity since Wenger was there winning the title.

Always said they don't know what they had with Wenger.

I'm of course confident on Chelsea/Liverpool to win away today, but like you said, we can never really tell how teams are until their first game post lockdown. That said, I am following Liverpool training and of course social media is social media but they've been looking sharp. Tammy Abraham now has Werner breathing down his neck (and performing miserably past 2 games) so he will want to impress. I'm looking at a strong 3-0 win for one of them!

@tokeweed so far so good on your 10/1. I already got my 95/10 yesterday thanks to good old Arsenal losing so I'm pretty happy. You got 4 more games to go, and where you're sitting at now looks good. Would you cashout if you book the Chelsea and Newcastle games?
10475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +29957 units on: June 21, 2020, 10:58:23 AM
I'm so in love with that Brighton win. I thought it was over when Pepe got the lead tbh, even though Arsenal looked like they'd crumble before then. Maupay injury time winner bags us our biggest parlay win of post-covid and takes us back above 10,000 units!

Anyway, I'm going to take some fairly inadvisable risks today so will probably keep updating this page. Because Liverpool have to be so motivated to win, I'm putting five times the normal bet (500 units) on a single on them at Sportsbet to WIN vs Everton @1.62. Betcoin odds: 1.56.
Bet ID: 5eef1742f725ea486d665b62

Odds advantage: 3.85%
Units advantage: 30

Also, FJ has a great 4+1 promo going on -- you can look up the terms here, but basically after 4 qualifying sports bets, they give you a free bet worth the average of the 4. I'll have an odds DISadvantage actually, but the freebet is a really good value for me, so I'll post some less-than-typical bets for myself, and calculate the disadvantage anyway if there is! Starting with:

Game 1: Valencia vs Osasuna. Valencia WIN @2.01. Betcoin odds: 2.04
Game 2: Inter vs Sampdoria. Inter WIN @1.43. Betcoin odds: 1.43
100 units parlay @2.87. Betcoin parlay: 2.92
Bet ID: 18091566

Odds advantage: -1.74%
Units advantage: -5

Running advantage after 328 bets: +7,958.62 (+25)
All-time cumulative: +29,957.84
Running units after 325 bets (53W|273L): +10,650.15 (+854 units)

Interresting project too.
Comparison:
2key is a tool to track traffic and distribute rewards. I didn't find how 2kay adress bot issue (if it does it at all) so traffic can be fake and rewards might go to few cheaters (correct me if i'm wrong).

Fairdrop.io solve multiple entries by one individual issue. The reason why keybase has to quit its airdrop (https://keybase.io/a/i/r/d/r/o/p/spacedrop2019) - top 1 2019-2020 airdrops. So its for those who want to have good distribution of coins, real people attention.

Yeah, that's what 2key is, but as I said, it also does have an effective use case in airdropping -- just on different values -- because it seems to identify active networks and earmark them as such and at the same time address fraud. Apparently it has a large whitelisting and uses an algorithm to identify fraud signups or invalid networks by identifying follow through (so, even if one uses spoof addresses and VPNs, for example, with no follow on sharing or referring). I've tested it and the fraud seems to work, but the system is really slow and painful when mempool is slow (using smart contracts is the problem).

How does Fairdrop solve this fraud issue though? All these SMS spoofing/VPN/Bluestack-type Android emulators still get fairly high success rates from what I noticed!
10477  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: June 21, 2020, 07:54:49 AM
Yeah, not much luck with Majestic, but anyway, this was never going to be a good week with everyone still fresh from rest. I think the Arsenal keeper injury also partly because of not enough games, feel so bad for him after his incredible performance against City.

Anyway, FJ, great promotion (4+1). I'm definitely going to take a sniff at this!

Question about the TOC though: what's an express bet? : "Only Express type Bets (minimum 2 positions)"

So the bets have to be a minimum 2-legged parlay is what I understand, but what's Express type?

BTW I placed a 1mBTC bet already with 4 legs, and 1 with 2 legs, with odds all qualified but I don't see them appearing in the 4+1 page as eligible. I guess they only go there AFTER the betslips settle? Should have a better way to check if they qualify or not, hard to tell tbh!

10478  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of a "Satoshi" in the future? on: June 20, 2020, 10:36:10 PM
Why the need for "Satoshi"? Why not just satoshi? Wink
I do carefully use as Satoshi to refer Mr.Satoshi Nakamotto and satoshi to denote the base unit of BTC Cool.

Good for you but that was my point;) satoshi (all lower case) is pretty much normalised in discussions, and there's really no need to have quotation marks.

Anyway, just being playfully pedantic about it, we all understood what was being referenced!

10479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police Arrest on: June 20, 2020, 09:12:47 PM
Can never really understand these translated stories. Arrested on suspicion isn't the same as guilty, but how did he exactly steal the electricity. If he really ran up that bill in only six months of operation, that sounds like either power's really really cheap in Russia (I'm sure it is but not that cheap) or his "rig" was an old laptop. $11 a month is basically less than 40 cents a day.

Smashed my Brighton/Dortmund parlay today, both were underdogs but come on, you never discount Haaland to score or Arsenal to lose =p. Gotta thank Maupay for the winner of course.

I have missed a lot in the last two weeks. I see you guys had 1 BTC tourney and usual Wednesday poker with Steve missed twice. EPL started so I am back to football again and hoping to join the regular poker tourneys. Does anyone have any summary for me?

It was at least the second 1 BTC tourney I believe but yeah as a sponsor for the What Bitcoin Did podcast. Steve's Multi Magic hit 2 weeks ago too, missed last week's by 1, and is half done today too (just need Chelsea and Liverpool to win to get 6/1!).

Wednesday poker is still available with password unchanged. So you got that one to look forward to for many more weeks yet.
