Isn't Bankera run by Spectrocoin exchange?

I thought they were a pretty legit company.

There's a few gripes about them, but show me a company that doesn't.

Legitimacy aside, it just looks ridiculously unachievable to me. They're going to need a huge amount of cooperation from traditional banking and I just don't see where that cooperation is going to come from. Without that cooperation it's a completely dead idea.

This is from their roadmap - "BANKING CAPABILITY early 2019. After the ICO, a banking license will be obtained. This will allow us to offer loans and deposit services."

They say nothing about the jurisdiction, who's going to grant it, what the chances of approval are and what groundwork they've already put in. If they want our money then let's see some evidence that it's actually going to produce some results.

And I don't think kicking off with an ICO is the way to warm the hearts of the old school financiers they're going to have to stroke to get anywhere. The crypto bit is a piece of piss. The crossover into banking is anything but and totally beyond their control no matter how much they raise.

Once upon a time Neo & Bee was going to revolutionise banking too. It didn't get very far.

That may be all bah humbug but if it was a sound enough idea they wouldn't be going down the ICO route. They'd get proper backing from proper investors. It just looks like more pie in the sky junk to me.

I've seen a few posters consistently referred to as a she, TERA is another one, yet I've never quite figured out how this came about. Perhaps they let rip on kittens and makeup in one post that I missed. I'm rather disappointed that others don't think I'm a leggy blonde myself.

Shout out to you lovely laydeez whichever IDs you're hiding behind.
10503  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My answer to the big question of Hodling on: September 17, 2017, 06:47:36 PM
Your "strategy" is non-existent.  You're simply relying on "greater fools" to keep buying with the intention of selling again for more fiat money, so that you can sell out before they do.

Um, that's pretty much what every single person here is doing even if they won't admit it in public.

It looks like a sound strategy in principle, though that certainty at 1000x returns shows the OP might have been spoilt by past performance. He'd have to be taking risks on stuff that looks like utter junk right now and I think the alt scene has become more established and mature.

2015 was the time to be doing this there were prime contenders that were still nowhere like Monero, XEM and ETH. Back then all alts looked potentially dead, even the ones with good plans and backing. Now a lot of that has come to fruition and the dregs are still where they belong, though no doubt there are some huge risers hiding.

The pulling out half at the doubling is the important bit, everything else will be gravy.

You'll get much more informative answers if you tell us what country you're in.

You might be in a place where Coinbase is the only decent option, or the worst of many. Different countries have radically different Bitcoin landscapes.

Just watched your vid after posting about comsa above. Well spotted on the Bankera dump so Comsa might not be as promising for NEM as i thought. Also i suspect the NEM foundation has been drip dumping for some time. How else are they paying for all these blockchain centers etc.
They have a bot on polo im pretty sure and the i believe it also supports the price if comes under too much pressure. 5k seems to be the floor
I know all this should pay off long term but the NEM market is so thin now that it cant handle that kind of sell pressure.

I assume they've done some OTC deals as well. There was that Japanese exchange that bought a large amount.

Nothing I've seen about Bankera looks realistic to me. Everyone other than the people proposing it should be standing well back from it until it proves itself. Insta dumping isn't very professional either, though of course they'll have many a bill to pay and plenty of greed to service.
10506  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If exchanger cryptocurrency China is close ? on: September 17, 2017, 03:50:53 PM
it won't be closed forever. some exchanges are closed, there is still localbitcoins and any other Chinese version of it are available.

Localbitcoins will be toast as soon as they get around to it there.

The biggest Chinese only equivalent, Bitkan, shut down last week as well. I don't know about this protocol level shuttering they're talking about, but it's easy to believe all the foreign trading sites will be blocked too.

10507  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-17] Chinese Investors to Trade Bitcoin Over-The-Counter Via Telegram on: September 17, 2017, 03:43:38 PM
but without the escrow functionalities of LBC, I'm not sure people are going to flock to app-based exchanges just yet.

I'm a tad sceptical about the whole thing because of this too. I don't see how they can get past this. Without escrow of some sort it's going to be pretty hopeless.

What's going to be the deal with Bitsquare? Could a Chinese person download and run it without any problems or are there certain elements which will be blocked?
10508  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you Do When You Run Out of Money to BUY During Such a Great Opportunity? on: September 17, 2017, 02:49:10 PM
A properly primed trader would never run out of money. They'd always have something in reserve for unexpected opportunities. Get some profit under your belt, pull it out and start thinking things through properly.
10509  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which Websites and Apps Do You Use to Get Bitcoin/Crypto Info? on: September 17, 2017, 02:34:16 PM
I am personally didnt trust any bitcoin related apps only using browser to access website like bitcoinwisdom

I don't see what harm a well known app from the main app stores can do. I am wary of chrome extensions. People seem a bit too blasé when it comes to installing them and brand new ones regularly pop up on here pushed by nobodies.

This is what I use on a phone for checking alt prices - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coinprices.allexchanges

If I'm on a PC then I'll just go to the exchange.
10510  Economy / Speculation / Re: China is buying - Something's coming up on: September 17, 2017, 02:23:07 PM
The inability to buy and sell Bitcoin in a convenient manner is brewing, that's what.

It looks like Chinese folks are already planning their post ban trading options and it's going to be a lot more ramshackle than their current choices. They may as well either stock up or get rid beforehand. There's going to be a lot more friction once it's in place.

Crappy English is the main thing that makes me roll my eyes. If someone can't articulate then they should stick to their native language until they can.

The next thing that gets my goat is someone who writes reams that basically says nothing.

If you have a point to offer then make it. You don't get a higher score by drawing it out.

I want to read opinions, facts and why people believe those opinions and facts over the other ones expressed in the thread.
10512  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Wallets and Coins on: September 17, 2017, 12:30:44 PM
Though I like the idea of a multi coin wallet I'm not sure I'd trust it in the long run.

There would be alot of back end work to keep the various nodes operating. When you look at the extensive moaning from the mycelium developers about trying to monetize, and that's probably the most popular wallet out there which doesn't even bother with bch let alone anything else, I don't see how a smaller operation could stay afloat for very long.

There's always some maintenance that needs doing and every coin attracts new problems and moans from users.

Anyone thinking of doing this will need more money, expertise and people than they originally plan for.
10513  Economy / Economics / Re: Someone from 2020 contacted me on: September 17, 2017, 12:20:33 PM
It seems a little modest to me. Assuming segwit2x goes away and dies I think people will be a tad shocked at the ease it reaches those higher figures. As soon as more ignorance is cleared up, and it's being slowly extinguished day by day, there'll be wave after wave of newcomers. There won't be any more coins than usual for them.
10514  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If exchanger cryptocurrency China is close ? on: September 17, 2017, 12:17:33 PM
The Chinese are moving to telegram groups and will trade P2P. That looks like their only option as it appears access to foreign exchanges is being shut down too. Maybe they'll finally innovate and come up with a bitsq that everyone wants to use.

I'm not surprised the exchanges are closing for RMB, I am surprised they're appearing to attempt to put everything to a halt.
10515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Pulled Off the Biggest Bitcoin Heist in History? on: September 17, 2017, 12:09:25 PM
I reckon plenty of existing exchanges are 100% rigged and have been since minute one. The amount of money they could've gouged may not be too far off Gox levels when it's all added up.

I find it deeply bizarre that so little is still known about Gox. Where did all the fiat go?
10516  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-16] Julian Assange Supports Bitcoin As Ways to Free Catalonia From Spai on: September 16, 2017, 10:28:11 PM
you are describing the reality of every single pension fund in existence today.

In principle it is indeed the same, but they're operating on markets established for centuries with liquidity orders of magnitude larger that are also subject to actual regulations.
10517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 16, 2017, 07:43:25 PM
It wasn't my revelation, but in this case - given her long term sceptical view of Bitcoin, it is IMHO entirely plausible it was indeed her.

I find the idea utterly bizarre. It could only have been someone mentally ill or paid a genuinely huge amount of money to have put that much effort in for so long.

It was truly relentless, almost every hour of the day for years. And whoever was paying a huge amount of money must've been mentally ill too.
10518  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 16, 2017, 07:24:06 PM
I think there was a link between forum post & twitter/facebook/whatever social media.

I thought the best lead was some teenage girl in Kansas or something.

If the Financial Times discovered one of their writers was doing that I can't imagine they'd bother employing them any more.

Izabella Kaminska has accepted my wall invitation. https://www.reddit.com/r/Buttcoin/comments/709ed6/izabella_dissects_just_what_on_earth_tethers_are/dn2jk3l/
Everybody try to be on their best behaviour this weekend. And for god's sake, keep your trousers on!

Ahem - Wasn't she NotLambChop?

If so, she already knows the WO thread rather well.  But she would still be welcome, nonetheless.

Where the hell did this meme come from? That human garbage spent 20 hours a day posting gay porn for several years. Where would a professional journalist with some of life find the time to do that?
10520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 16, 2017, 06:05:08 PM
Maybe some Pro from Sweden here?
Than we can leave this... Roll Eyes

There is nothing to pick up. It's the KNCminer ETN which has been around for ages.
