10501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 Million unspent pristine bitcoins on: August 07, 2012, 02:54:01 AM
That would require Satoshi to spend that coin

It's not possible to spend coins from the genesis block.  To make it possible would require everyone to upgrade their client to a version which makes it possible.  If a group of people didn't upgrade, they would be on a fork of the blockchain as soon as the genesis block's coins were spent.
10502  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: August 07, 2012, 02:25:47 AM
Dooglus' fix is implemented, though I can't really test it since I can't replicate it myself.

I think if you have the code wait for you to hit return after opening the blockchain files but before scanning them, and then wait for a block or two to be received while it's waiting, you'll see the bug happen.

I've not had a chance to test your fix yet, but if you used my change then I'm guessing it will work for me.  I've still had no crashes since making the change myself.

10504  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 100 BTC trust roulette on: August 06, 2012, 11:34:23 PM
I did play online quite a bit until I lost a few thousand when the government came in and "helped us all out" by shutting the site down and taking all of my money.

I heard recently that PokerStars had bought Full Tilt and were going to make all the Full Tilt players whole.

Hey does that Micon character play online poker for BTC at any of the online BTC poker sites?

I believe he's in some way invested in Seals With Clubs.  He's a "pro" on Seals, and some claim he's a part owner of the site.  This thread for instance starts by claiming Micon owns part of Seals, and quickly degenerates into a "bitcoin sucks" thread.
10505  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu - 60BTC guarantee tournament Sunday on: August 06, 2012, 11:07:55 PM
The bottom line is the guy freemoney is a scammer and the site is a fucking scam

You're not going to get anywhere just ranting like that.

How about you tell us how much you think you are owed, and provide any supporting evidence you have.

Currently it sounds as if the amount you are claiming is mathematically impossible given how the rakeback system works, but it's hard to know for sure because very little content comes through from your messages other than "I'm angry" over and over.

So how about you try calming down and actually stating your case?
10506  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiRoulette.com - OPEN FOR PUBLIC TESTING on: August 06, 2012, 09:23:51 PM
New features coming: last 20 numbers rolled (help you grind those stats) via bultin twitter feed.

We would like to announce big winners as a way of promoting the site but as some players may prefer to remain anonymous they may not like us advertising their 18btc win + txid + address. Thoughts ?

Your big winning bets are already public since your bet addresses are known.  Anyone can look up all the results on the blockchain.

If people want to be anonymous they need to make sure they can't be linked to their bet transaction, which is their responsibility, not yours.

So I say go ahead and list the biggest winners and biggest losers, just like SatoshiDice does on their front page.
10507  Economy / Gambling / Re: Public Beta: SatoshiWheel.com on: August 06, 2012, 09:42:50 AM
The game is provably fair - they mention it in the FAQ and even provide their formula. I have crunched 1 of my TX's (randomly selected) so far to confirm and the results were what I expected (in preparation for being moved out of pending in the gambling list).

Looking at the formula used it is impossible for them to weight it (unless they manually send out all payments), they could try selecting a secret that leans 1 way or the other using previous bets to judge the weight, but should any player pick the way the table leans they could exploit it to their advantage.

What is this gold colour you speak of ? I see red black and green.

Re-read the subject of this thread.

There's no mention of provability in the faq, just how to deposit and withdraw, and what new features are planned.

Are you thinking of satoshiroulette.com?  In this thread we're talking about satoshiwheel.com.

I had the same problem at first. It didn't show up on Import/Export. I had to try force it to fully reload and then it showed up. But first couple times I tried it wasn't there. Which is a bit odd but perhaps something isn't quite right with cache handling and FF doesn't load the new version.

Thanks, that was it.

Control-Shift-R in Chromium fixed the problem the 2nd time I tried it, though I had to log in again.

are the odds the same for spinning a gold vs all the other colors?

I'd like to know that too.

Is the wheel 'fair', or is it weighted more towards black and less towards gold?

Do you plan to make a "provably fair" version of the game, like how SatoshiDice and bitZino are, so we can be absolutely sure you've not cheating?
10512  Economy / Gambling / Re: Put you BTC where your mouth is and bet for or against Pirate for Aug. on: August 06, 2012, 08:07:18 AM
It makes sense if the payback for the bet is more than 7% / week.

The bet ends in less than 4 weeks.  4 weeks in BS&T at 7%/week compounded earns you 31%.  The bets are currently 3:1 in favour of not defaulting, and will presumably go further in that direction as the end of the month approaches.  So it's better to put your money into BS&T than to bet against the default at the moment.
10513  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu - 60BTC guarantee tournament Sunday on: August 06, 2012, 08:02:17 AM
it is impossible to earn the amount of rakeback you are demanding in the amount of hands it takes to earn 7000 krill. If you only played 4 handed hands at the highest stakes (which is nothing like your actual play) the most rake you could pay is 700 * 25 = 17500.

If he pays 25 rake per hand, doesn't he get root(25)=5 krill per hand, and so he plays 7000/5 = 1400 hands to earn 7k krill, pays 1400*25 = 35000 in rake, and gets 2% of that = 700 chips in rakeback?

I'm basing this on the explanation I found on the site:

Each player dealt in to a raked hand will receive Krill based on the following calculation: √(rake) rounded up.

It's still a long way from "the 5 bitcoins" he claims to be owed.

Blockchain.info has now added Brain Wallet support with the same format.

I'm not seeing it.  Where can I find the brain wallet support on blockchain.info?

Thanks.
10515  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 06, 2012, 06:01:32 AM
he's using vandroiy logic:

(interest + withdrawals) > 8000

withdrawals = ??

therefore interest > 8000

I suggest that you audit your business, since we apparently know more about what you are making than you do.

The interest payment did include a withdrawal once, on Fri Dec 09 2011.  The interest of 78 BTC and the withdrawal of 600 BTC were combined into a single payment of 678 BTC (txid 615b4c794a18871879ea06208d3d28e618307c239b876020ead7bcfc53acf8a4).  Other than that they've been separate.
10516  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 06, 2012, 05:52:47 AM
Here's how the recent interest payments correspond to entries in the blockchain.  There's a really close correspondence between the calculated interest and the actual interest.  The difference is explained by the fact that BS&T calculates interest from the minute payment is received, but all I see are block timestamps which will be close to but different from the time the transactions were made.

10517  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 06, 2012, 03:52:36 AM
I really question why you guys are donating anything to Payb.tc, given that he's currently making over $9000 per week off of this. That's about $470k per year, for those of you who are bad at math.
How have you worked that out?

I don't know, but I guess the calculation goes something like this:

Quote
bitcoin max gets about 9000 BTC per week in interest.

payb.tc is on the 7.7% interest level and pays out 6.9%, so he keeps 9000 * (7.7-6.9) / 7.7 = 935 BTC per week.

935 BTC is over $9000.

If you think about it, I truly think he did make the mistake. Who would bet, without an address that is accessible by him?

Someone who had read the forums and seen anecdotal evidence that with enough nagging MtGox will refund you you your SatoshiDice winnings?

I think he made an honest mistake though.

10520  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Satoshidice.com ,please pay my bitcoins! on: August 04, 2012, 05:00:28 PM
Since I made a mistake to lost my 50BTC at  satoshiDice,I think I should to win back.

But is seems that I am so unlucky!

I am waiting for at least 48 hours for it.

And I didn't  receive my pay back yet.

This is the transaction.  http://satoshidice.com/full.php?tx=72b97a20c5cee0b9f05b5203d0361263edb41b752a15e2838ac2b3b6789f74c2

I lost most of my bitcoin ,and when I won one time , it didn't pay.

I so angry with that!!

Why the status is UNKNOW ?

And when Can I receive my pay which is belong to me?

I try to contact evoorhees to resolve this problem, but no reply.

Sorry for the delay.  I've been out of town and this transaction hit a new and interesting database problem on our end.  So I had to spend a little time to figure out what happened and fix it.

It is corrected now, the payment is confirmed.
