After Barcelona are confirmed out of the Champions League, then I think they will really want to get something good in Laliga. This week Barcelona will away to Valencia for matchday 12, and for this match I can expect Barcelona to do better despite the disappointments they experienced in the Champions League. Even though Valencia played at home in that match, Barcelona really can be favorites based on odds.

On the other hand, Real Madrid who played at home against Girona seemed to be very superior compared to their opponents. Girona has odds of 12 to win, but this is something hard to win.

After their CL exit yesterday, Xavi in post match conference said that they will be focused on remaining titles and they will try hard to get some of those now. Laporta also is backing Xavi so I think they are much more focused on building a strong squad at Barcelona which is ideal thing to do for them right now. They stand 3 points behind the table leaders in LaLiga so I think they have good chance of winning the title unlike last season and they have decent enough squad to keep on going for LaLiga title with Madrid till the end. Hope Xavi can help Barca bring at least one of the titles.

I've heard that Arsenal are planning to give £50m to Arteta for January transfer window. They must be aiming to give as much support as possible to the team to make it to the league title this season.

I wonder if Arteta has some players in his mind to sign now. Actually they have made good signings so far and strengthened the squad quite much. I don't see any big weakness in defense or offense actually. We can understand this easily from their general performance. But maybe Arteta has some plans to increase the alternatives.

Possibly maybe in defensive mid area we might need a player but apart from that I don't think we need any more players. We have a good squad and building a great chemistry so not really much. Although Tielemans to Arsenal would have been great as he can give a team a good mid control like he does at Leicester but that didn't happened despite strong rumours in last transfer window. Hope they get Tielemans maybe in next or a similar alternative with strong defensive mid control.

The new owners of Newcastle are doing everything in their power to h make the club title contenders in the EPL,  they are investing in the team massively, their transfer dealings have been productive and effective. Quite a number of top players including Coutinho, Isak, Trippier etc have joined the club and are excelling and improving the team positively. This just shows the plan and the level at which Newcastle wants to be playing and competing.

I believe Coutinho isn't in Newcastle and is in Aston Villa but yeah I very much agree that Newcastle have invested quite a lot since the change in ownership but there have been some where they have bid quite above the market value like for example Chris Wood. Newcastle have paid around 75m for Isak and around 30m for Wood and both mostly sits out while Wilson plays most of the games. They have three strikers now and they spent around 100m on players which they don't use much, I feel they don't have a particular plan in transfer market and are getting players without much thinking. I although do like some of the signings and they have been crucial in Newcastle recent success but I think they need to do a bit of sensible thinking before making signings.

Barcelona have a strong squad. Even then they are not performing well against big and renowned teams. Barcelona could not win against teams like Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Real Madrid. And in every match Barcelona lost points due to mistakes made by their defenders. Barcelona lost points due to the poor performance of the defenders. And so in the next match against Bayern Munich if the defenders of Barcelona can play well then I think that Barcelona will win. Because Barcelona's attacking players are in good form now. I would say the performance of the defenders depends on the result of Barcelona in this match.

Bayern's attack is pretty much strong and Barca's defenders has to do a lot of work to keep them at bay. I think Bayern has too much of quality for Barca to handle. Barca have been playing good defensively in LaLiga games but Bayern have sharp attack unlike the LaLiga teams Barca have been facing recently. Either way Barca exiting CL is likely as Inter only needs a win against Plzen and that one should be a piece of cake for the Italian side.

About Barca's defence, I would say Araujo's injury has hit Barca hard. Ever since his injury Barca's defence have been struggling as there isn't a strong character in defence for them.

Roma - Napoli has just started and we have 4 minutes on the clock. Napoli may still be disappointed with yesterday, when title rival Inter Milan managed to win 3-4 in the last seconds of the match. But the margin at Inter is decent and frankly I don't think this game will cause much problems for Napoli, but AS Roma is a team that can beat anyone but they are not constantly busy enough. They did, of course, win the conference league last season. I did not expect Atalanta's defeat at home to Lazio at all. Perhaps that is also the reason that Atalanta has never become champion in recent years. When it really matters, they let it go.

I believe Napoli can still play their best game I mean they probably won't lose although not getting 3 points, but 1 point is also enough
BTW one of their competitors Atalanta was defeated by Lazio today so the opportunity for Milan to get closer to Napoli
Of course I prefer Milan to be the main competitor of Napoli than Atalanta because they were the champion last season.

Napoli currently have lot of quality in their team and they have been playing great football right now. Their team chemistry is also good and better than Roma. Roma on other hand kinda plays a bit on counter and are mostly in a composed formation. I would say Napoli has better chances of coming out as a winner today. Also I think both teams will score goals today in this match but seems a bit risky going on this one.

The draw from Southamton is actually a less than satisfactory result for Arsenal today. But after all, these kinds of things can always happen in any game even if one team wins because of its quality. Let's say Arsenal are superior and are favorites to win in that match because of their consistency and good performance so far, but the final result is what determines.

2 points away from Manchester City is still a good thing, but Manchester City are a team that will put pressure on Arsenal and will use every match to get points. It doesn't matter if Arsenal can maintain consistency and win the next match, but those 2 points are not safe from Manchester City. While Newcastle looked impressive when they beat Tottenham 1-2. I don't know if it's a really fair result for the match, but it feels like Newcastle have really improved in their last 5 matches where 4 from 5 of the match have been won by them. Impressive, that's a good word for Newcastle's recent form.

2 points is not much but if City drops points then we will be ahead again but given how well City are playing things are pretty hard and Arsenal have to maintain whatever gap they have right now and hope City to drop some points in between.

About Newcastle, they are playing a very good football. Some good signings and under the direction of Eddie Howe they are becoming consistent round after round. Today they played really well against Spurs but Spurs also kinda made some mistakes which costed them 3 points today.  Newcastle now stand 4th with the win today.

Any player would be very honored to receive an offer from Real Madrid. Money is not the main factor for players to go to Real Madrid, but because it is easy to lift trophies makes it very difficult for players to refuse offers from Madrid.
As one of the big and most successful clubs in Europe, it is very easy for Real Madrid to get targeted players, not all players can be successful when they join Real Madrid because the competition in the main squad is very tight. One example experienced by Hazard, before moving to Real Madrid Hazard was an important player in the Chelsea squad, now he is only a bench warmer due to not being able to show his best performance like when he was still at Chelsea.

At Madrid, players are full and Bellingham might find some playing but there is no guarantee. Regarding Hazard, he is not performing so yeah Bellingham will also get the same tratment if he doesn't performs. I don't think it's only Madrid, there are many clubs who also bench players when they don't perform. Take Nunez at Liverpool for example or Ronaldo at United. The question is where he will find good amount of playing minutes. With Bellingham, I think he has better amount of chances at Liverpool rather than at Madrid.

Looks like the elephant that everybody has been asking on how it got up the tree is soon coming down. As expected after Arsenal failing to secure maximum points against Southampton after taking an early lead could have just left the door open. With the afternoon result Arsenal might have just given hope to Manchester city and other clubs to close in on them and any points dropped means they will be trading places and gravity will do its thing  Roll Eyes

Yeah Arsenal should have found some goals but the points drop are gonna  hurt us today with City now just two points behind. Well we still have whole season to play and if we grab our consistency again then I think we can still do alright for some time. Hope just like today there will be someone to surprise City in next rounds and make them drop some points.

I don't care what most people think or what their opinions are but I can say Liverpool are missing the work rate of sadio mane, they missed a winger that support the left back, a winger that can assist the striker and can also play as a striker, I believe Jürgen klopp thought he can replace him with Luis Diaz but the Colombian international has not been in the premier League for even a year and mane is more of world class, is true they are conceding goals but I don't blame the defender's because if you are not scoring you will be punished.

Yeah Mane's work rate was exceptional and helped Liverpool a lot when he was in the team. Diaz is also a good winger but yeah he needs lot of experience to come upto Mane's level. Everyone needs a bit of time and Diaz needs it too. Mane wanted a different challenge and so Liverpool allowed him to go and I think Liverpool did right there. You can't keep players against their wishes.

Yeah if they had scored then Forest would have been feeling the pressure so  yeah game would have shaped slightly different but I still feel that Liverpool should have been more alert in the latter stage of the game.

Chelsea 1:1 Manchester United FT...

It was a very bad substitution for Manchester United, the introduction of Mc Tomny immediately cost Manchester United goal. It was a careless foul committed by the Young midfielder. But we are glad that the happiness of the match was still kept alive when Casemiro got his first goal for Manchester United in a big match against Chelsea at the 90+ minutes.
Draw is a fair result for both teams.

The match was heading for a scoreless draw as both teams were quiet throughout the match. McTominay foul was a clumsy one as he usually makes but thay foul costed United quite a lot as Chelsea were able to find the lead but Casemiro's goal was a crucial one as well. Kepa did all he could to save the goal but by the time he was able to get proper hold of the ball, it already had crossed the line. Yeah, draw seems to be a fair result for both but both teams would have been hoping for full 3 points which they failed to get.

It's not clear he might leave in the winter transfer because there isn't any club that has made any offer and he is still contracted to united till the summer. Ten Hag on the other side hasn't made a public word about not having in his team.

Ronaldo wages is actually a big problem why he has not gotten offer. Second thing could be his attitude and how he left his last two clubs. Third thing might be his age, many big clubs prefer to build there team around younger players and Ronaldo's likes could hinder there progress

Ten Haag wants the player this season as he said that when asked in press conference but now the thing is if Ronaldo is gonna happy with ten Haag decisions. He knows ten Haag will again make them sit out if he finds Ronaldo not finding any impact and that is somewhat unacceptable to Ronaldo. I would say if things stay like this then very likely Ronaldo will move. Yes his wages is gonna be a problem but player can always adjust and I think right now to get a regular playing time it is possible that he will adjust. Lot of clubs will be monitoring this and will be interesting to see how things changes but right now it all depends on Ronaldo alone. I wouldn't blame ten Haag even a bit as he is doing the best for the club and setting the standards. It's same for everyone whether it be a world class player or a young player.

I don't know what is wrong with Liverpool, they have been going through a rough season all year, and I get that its not a simple thing to just go back to being good, but they can't just lose to Nott Forest, thats just not comprehensible in my mind. This is the same team that was second last year and played in the finals of UCL, there is only one player missing and that can't really make this much change. I am not sure how they will get back to being good, but it has been long enough to say its not just a bad start, it has been one quarter of the whole season and they stil suck, which means they should have figured out what was going wrong. I hope they get better but I do not see anyway they could do that for the time being, maybe something needs to change.

I thought Liverpool are gonna have good performance after getting some good results on some of their previous matches but today they really performed poorly. Forest seemed to have a strategy as they got the lead and parked the bus and in the end it worked out well for them. Liverpool need to find a good mid combination and goalscorer to come back into the form again. They also have been conceeding this season which is also another concern. Klopp has to do lot of work to fix things at Liverpool.

After what has happened, do you think Ronaldo would be leaving? I mean he was asked to train with u-21 after what has happened in the Spurs game, I am not sure if he still has a future in United. If he was 30 years old I would say they have time to recover from this, but this dude is going into his 38 soon, and he can't just stay and wait for them to forgive him or something, or make up with the manager. He doesn't have too much time at the top, he needs to play somewhere asap before he retires or he won't be playing at all.

I assume that transfer window is closed but if he was fired and he agrees on a mutual termination, he could totally find himself a team for cheap contract and keep on scoring many goals. Maybe do not look at the big name clubs, and start looking at smaller name clubs who would be delighted to give him all the playing time he wants?

Well it's hard to say but if things stay like this then very likely that he has to move. No one likes the situation they are in. Coach has to keep his job, team has to keep on winning and player has to keep on playing and at United it is hard to keep up with all the things right now. Unless they find a strategy to find something for Ronaldo that works for them also, he (Ronaldo) is gonna move out likely.

Its complicated but Ronaldo also gotta understand in my opinion. There are some standards and it's same for everyone. I believe ten Haag are setting right examples and it has to come down at one point at United.
1074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 21, 2022, 07:03:57 PM
In the end the match ended with a striking score.
Aston Villa have fallen into Fulham's trap and inevitably their rhythm is disturbed because they follow the rhythm of Fulham's game and in the end they made a lot of mistakes in this match.
Red cards, penalties and of course own goals were their series of mistakes in this match, even though we know it was very difficult for them to get back up, especially since they lost with the number of players and were 2 goals behind at that time.

Aston Villa were bit unlucky and they faced some harsh ref decisions but most part of the game they had so much pressure from Fulham. Villa lack defence and strong mid which is why they are struggling in this PL campaign so far. Without manager now they are gonna struggle even more. Their next game is against Brentford and they are in a good form right now. Thomas Frank and his men will easily crush clueless Villa in the upcoming fixture.

the evening standard reports that eintracht frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka has emerged as a transfer option for arsenal london in their attempts to find a left-sided centre-back to provide competition for Gabriel.

I don't think we need anymore defenders. We have Tierney and Zinchenko on left hand and they are perfect. Furthermore, Tomiyasu is also sometimes seen playing on that position. About Gabriel, he plays as centre back and he also has signed a long term contract today so I think we are full and perfect squad. Any more signings will only go only to the bench and nothing else.
1076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 21, 2022, 05:38:14 PM
There should be a high chance for Nottingham Forest to be playing defensively against Liverpool in their next upcoming match with the hope of forcing a draw at the final whistle, but I think Liverpool will want to continue their chase against Arsenal at the top of the table and they should be able to beat Nottingham Forest.

Even if Nottingham Forest parks the bus that wont help them. Liverpool must make up the difference in points and they are on a good run so far. So i think if Liverpool opens them up quickly it will be game over. For me Nottingham Forrest is the main favorite to get relegated this season.

Forest lack lot of quality and for parking the bus to be successful they need to have a strong defence which Forest lacks. They were lucky in last game but Liverpool has lot of quality and I think Liverpool are gonna win this one easily as they are one of the title contender and they really need points to get on track this season and I don't find Forest coming in their way in the next game.

It is reported that Romelo Lukaku has returned to training after a long muscle injury but he returned to training to prepare for the start of the Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen. I hope Lukaku can appear again and play an important role for Inter Milan in the future.

But there are other rumors about Lukaku who will be terminated on loan is it possible because he is often injured so that his declining performance makes the coaches reluctant to extend his contract on loan?
But it is said Inter & Chelsea they will decide next season about Lukaku's future.

I think his move away from Chelsea is imminent in next season but it is hard to comment if Inter will be his next place. Right now he is at Inter on loan but Inter also hasn't made their minds yet and besides Lukaku haven't given them a convincing  display anyway so very likely that Inter might back away from making things permanent.

Chelsea also will lose quite a chunk if they go after offloading Lukaku desperately and sell below the price at which they bought. Its complicated with him and will be able to know for better when next summer transfer window is around.

In today's Premiership matches, teams from the bottom of the table will play, which does not mean that there will be no excitement. On the contrary, any loss of points against a direct opponent in the struggle to stay in the league will be especially painful. I expect a lot of goals in the Leicester vs Leeds game. Both teams like to play offensively, sometimes forgetting about defence. Both teams have had crazy matches this season. I hope that it will be similar today and I bet over 3.5 goals.

I don't think that will be the case. Both teams are good teams despite their performances in the league so far. Leeds played their last game well against Arsenal while Leicester also are playing better football than their previous games so I think it will be a good contest between the two sides. I also think  that game will see some good amount of goals scored.

I've heard Xavi be interested in Ruben Neves. Neves is a creative midfielder from Wolves, the stats he's pretty good. Bringing the peomosi Wolves to the EPL. Maybe this can happen in the transfer market next winter. Besides if I observe, not only is their central defender midfielder Pique also old. His quality has declined, Xavi also needs to find an experienced central defender, although they have bought Kounde.

I don't think signing Neves is gonna solve any of Barca's problem. They need a strong midfielder and Barca already has lot of good creative midfielders. However, yes they are lacking strong defenders but they have Araujo injured otherwise they wouldn't be having such problems, so I also think they need to sign good backup defenders.

Brighton have been on a bad run lately with a few consecutive defeats even out of the top 5 in the standings even though we know at the beginning of the season they are not easy to beat but now it's very different only won once in the last 5 matches. So will Brighton get a defeat or 3 points today? NottForest is not a difficult opponent they are the worst team in the Premier Leagues this season.

Well after Potter's departure they have been lacking a clear strategy to continue on with games. With Robert De Zerbi's arrival, they should be slightly back on track but certainly will need time. Nottingham forest however are continuing to show flop performance despite their heavy transfer window. I think Brighton should win this one easily. Nottingham forest shouldn't be much of a challenge for them.
