Trip to Colorado to set-up our own disp ( Dope Dispensary, Inc ) over the next year is still on. It will 'live blogged' ( videos and pictures of it being built out ) from day 1 to finish  We'll have two of Dope Members making this trip so it should be pretty exciting and cool to see how it turns out. They will be financing it themselves and with the help of the DOPE community. Estimated start date will be in September. It is really good time to get into DOPE as the price is pretty low. We have multiple vendors in the works so more to come soon. edit: Also, we'll be integrating Anon. transactions via SuperSend aka SuperCoin code. Will the Dope Dispensary do anything different than a regular dispensary? maybe like only accept DOPE or offer discounts for users who pay with DOPE? Thanks man! Yes, we are pretty excited to get this off the ground. The two members are excited to finally live their dream of being in Colorado and enjoyin the fruits of their labor there. It will be interesting to see how this all works out. Both, will be taking part-time jobs in the Colorado area while figuring out a game plan. There is limited details at the moment as logistics are being formed first. Like they need a car to get to Colorado lol ( traveling from Minnesota ) ,but will layout a detailed plan shortly. Yes, we are open to ideas on how to run it differently then any other disp. such as you mentioned accepting only DOPE or offer discounts if DOPE is used. I'm working on getting media outlets to promote the idea. This is hard to do because every magazine in the crypto space is corrupt and only prints stories for bribes. I'm starting my own show thanks to http://cryptobizmagazine.com twitter @cryptobizmag. I'm working on building up social media attention. Jyri Hovila from altcoin.center has announcements coming soon. His studio is looking pretty nice: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=999166.0Drew Fife and Blake Mattson are working on designs for a Mall Kiosk. We will try to raise funds for a mall kiosk soon. We are looking at using different crowd funding platforms in the next attempt to raise funds. If anyone wants to help get us media attention, it would be greatly appreciated. Attention in the investment, marijuana or crypto space would be good. Any ideas on how to gain users is welcome as well. I'll let you know about the commissioned crypto + weed piece we hope to put together with a few of the other weed coins . This should help get more recognition out there as it will be submitted to media outlets. I will be selling super cheap battery packs for DOPE on my website soon. 50% off for people who pay with DOPE. I will be making less than a few bucks on each unit I sell. You're not going to find a middle class guy who is remotely tuned in to CNBC or Yahoo/Google Finance who hasn't heard of bitcoin by now.
In the past, bitcoin expanded into new demographics. It started with the Slashdot crowd in 2009. Then the Wired/Silk Road article crowd in 2011. Then expanding more towards the VICE/Reddit/CNBC crowd in early 2013. By late 2013, it was on major network television in places like China, Russia, India, etc. You can't be a Wall Street Journal reader or a Google Finance reader without having read about bitcoin. It's been on the front page multiple times.
The next push won't be expanding into a new demographic. It will have to be on the strength of the technology itself.
This is actually a good point. Hopefully, Bitcoin can re-stablish itself somewhere and bring in the people that matter. |
